Hiro and Fred were sitting in the fanciest barber's chairs in town, about to get the full works in preparation for the big night. They were in the hands of the best of the best, so they knew they were going to get the best of the best haircuts. They weren't going for anything too fancy as they liked their hair the way it was, but they still wanted to look good for their respective girlfriends.

'Hey, Fred. Thanks again for paying for all this. I'll have to pay you back some time.'

'Nah. Don't even mention it! This is your first date, so it has to be perfect! Besides! I got a discount cause I'm a regular.'

'Yeah, but you're paying for the restaurant and the suit too-'

'Which is no problem at all!

'Yeah but-' Hiro was interrupted by the hairdressers coming over to start work on their hair.

'So, how do you want it?' they both asked.

'The usual please,' said Fred.

'Vey well, Frederick.'

'And you, sir?' asked the other hairdresser.

'Um, nothing too crazy. Just a trim please.'

The hairdresser nodded and snipped away at his hair. Hiro had never taken too much pride in his appearance in general, but thought it wouldn't hurt to make an effort now he had someone to look good for. And if that dress Karmi wore on New Year's was anything to go by, she was going to look just as stunning tonight too. In actual fact, Hiro didn't really mind what she wore, but he had to admit the dress really brought her beauty out tenfold. And her hair? Well it always looked flawless to him. Hiro watched as clufts of his hair were chopped and diced skilfully. He was a little worried they were going to cut too much off. After all, his hair was a big part of what made Hiro, Hiro. But then thankfully the hairdresser stopped and put the scissors down.

'Would you like the finishing touches with some of our finest hair gel, sir?'

'Umm, okay sure. Just make sure I look smart, please. I'm going on my first date tonight and want to make a good impression, you know?

'Of course, sir. I know exactly how to style it.'

After some careful handwork and precise moulding, the hairdresser picked up a mirror and turned it around at different angles and asked Hiro if he was happy with it.

'That's… actually not bad at all! It looks great! Thank you!'

'You are very welcome, sir. And best of luck on your date tonight.' Hiro smiled at him.

'See, what did I tell you man? Best hairdressers in town!' said Fred. He checked his watch. 'Oh, boy! We really gotta go now. Back to the Fred Cave!'

The Fred Cave was of course Fred's house, where Heathcliff was waiting, pointing at his watch and holding dry cleaned suits in his hands.

'Thanks, Heathcliff! Love ya, man!' said Fred.

'Of course, Master Fredrick. Might I remind you that you have just short of an hour to get to the restaurant.'

'Don't worry my dude! We'll make it!'

Fred and Hiro got changed into the suits and looked at themselves, from head to toe in Fred's fancy dressing room. Hiro was donning a trendy navy blue suit with a purple bow tie and handkerchief. Fred's outfit was a little more out there; with an orange bow tie, suspenders and a brown tweed jacket instead. It wasn't the best combination, but it was just typical Fred and suited his quirky personality. Heathcliff walked in and grimaced slightly, before quickly wiping it off his face and giving Fred a thumbs up.

'Okay! We're all good to go! I got a limo round the back if you wanna come with me and Olivia?' asked Fred.

'Thanks, but no. I want to give Karmi a different kind of experience…'

'Alright dude. Only if you're sure?

'Yeah, I'm sure. Don't get me wrong, a limo's nice and all. But I have something a bit more romantic in mind.'

'Oooh okay, Mr. Romancer! I guess I'll meet you there then?' Hiro laughed.

'Well I could do with a lift back home, but yeah I'll have to meet you there after. But thanks again, Fred. I can't thank you enough for all your help.' Fred put a hand on Hiro's shoulder.

'Oh, it's really nothing. I just want you to have the best first date. Tadashi would have wanted me to look after you the way he did. I mean you're as good as a brother to me anyway, man…' Fred was getting a little emotional. 'And he'd be so, SO proud to see you right now. And so am I.' Hiro nodded and looked down at the floor. He didn't know what to say but simply said:

'Yeah, he would.' Fred gave Hiro a friendly slap on the back and stepped away.

'Alright, come on then,' said Fred. Heathcliff! Let's get this show on the road, before I start crying!'

'Certainly.' As they left, Hiro got his phone out and phoned Baymax.

Back in Hiro's room, Baymax was helping Karmi get ready by zipping up her dress. Then as he handed Karmi some eyeliner and eyeshadow, he received the incoming call from Hiro.

'Oh. Please excuse me, Karmi. Someone is calling me.'

'Oh, okay. No problem. I can finish my makeup myself. Thanks for your help.'

'You are welcome.' Baymax left the room and took the call in the living room.

'Hello, Hiro. How is everything going?'

'I'm all good to go now, buddy. I'm on my way back. Meet me in the workshop. It's time.'

'Okay, I understand. I am ready.'

Hiro had already planned this with Baymax earlier in the week, so Baymax knew exactly what was happening. Fifteen minutes later, Hiro got out of the limo and waved Fred goodbye. Then he made his way to the workshop, where Baymax was waiting and immediately started suiting him up in his armour.

'Thanks again, Baymax. I just know Karmi's going to absolutely love this.'

'I do not understand such things, but my memory banks on "Romance" suggest it would be a good romantic gesture.'

'I certainly hope so! I just wanna get it right, you know? Cause Karmi deserves the best.'

'I understand, Hiro. You will do just fine.' Baymax gave him a thumbs up.

'Thanks, Baymax.' Hiro picked up his helmet and a second red one that he made earlier in the week. 'Right, we're ready to go now. Just gotta text Karmi.'

Hiro texted her and asked her to meet him outside, round the back. Karmi was just finishing the final adjustments to herself, when she heard the text ping through. She picked her phone up and smiled. Then texted back: "Okay. Coming, babe," with a kissy emoji. A couple minutes later, Karmi came walking down to the workshop. Hiro heard her high heels hitting the pathway as she got closer. He quickly fixed his bow tie as his heart beat out of his chest. He'd been planning this all week and it wanted it to be perfect. Then they laid eyes on each other and both stood open mouthed, surprised to see the other so well dressed. Karmi was dressed in an alluring black dress and had put on makeup, to Hiro's astonishment. He had never seen her like this and was rendered speechless for a while. Karmi smirked. She didn't quite get to do it on New Year's, but now was definitely the time and she looked even better tonight. Mission accomplished.

'Wow. Just wow,' he said, completely bamboozled.

'Is that all you can say, Genius Boy?' said Karmi, in a slow seductive tone.

'Umm, well… You just look so damn good!' Hiro spluttered out, almost drooling at this point. Karmi laughed and got closer to Hiro.

'Well thank you, mister. I have to say, you're looking pretty sauve… ' Karmi fixed his bow tie and ran her hand along his chest. Hiro could do nothing but watch. 'And you even got a haircut, I see.' Karmi ran her fingers through his hair. 'Hmm, yes. I'm impressed. Very hot,' she whispered in his ear.

'Well, I had to pull out all the stops for our first date.'

'Hmm, so did I.'

There was a lot of tension in the air as they stared at each other. Then Karmi placed a long, wet kiss on Hiro's lips. Hiro kissed her back, but they didn't have all night and we're already running a little late, so it didn't last long. Hiro's lips were left with Karmi's smudged red lipstick. Karmi giggled and wiped it off. Then she brushed aside a speck of dust on his suit and stepped away from Hiro.

'So… where are you taking me, handsome?'

'Well, you have to wait and see. Your chariot awaits.' Hiro beckoned towards Baymax. He waved to Karmi. She looked confused for a second.

'Wait, what?!' Hiro put his helmet on and held out the red one to Karmi.

'Oh we're gonna fly, babe.' Hiro grinned.

'F-f-fly?!' Karmi's eyes widened in panic.

'Yeah, that's not a problem is it? Thought you'd like to see what it's like.'

'Um, no. I've just never flown before...'

'Don't worry. It's perfectly safe. Just hold on to me tight.'

'Um, okay.' Karmi reluctantly put on the helmet. Hiro climbed on Baymax and held out his hand for her.

'C'mon, take my hand. Trust me, you'll love it.'

Karmi slowly extended her hand until her fingertips reached Hiro's and then their hands locked together. As soon as they touched, Karmi immediately felt safe and her nerves were qualming a little. Hiro helped her up and then they were both on board.

'Ready?' asked Hiro. Karmi nodded and held on tight to him.

'Okay, on three! 3… 2… 1! Go, Baymax!'

Baymax's wings sprouted and then they took flight into the starry night sky. Karmi screamed upon impact of hitting the atmosphere. Her heart jumped up her throat and back down. Baymax wasn't even going that fast, but Karmi definitely needed some time to get used to it.

'Hey, hey. It's okay, babe. I've got you,' said Hiro as he comforted her.

Karmi had never done anything like this in her entire life, being in a lab for most of it. So heights weren't exactly something she was used to. She hid her face on Hiro's back for the first couple minutes of the flight and then gradually picked up the courage to look up. Then she couldn't stop herself looking down and realised just how high up they were. It frightened her at first, but then she saw Hiro smiling down at her and she began to relax a little. Looking at him there and then made her feel like she could do anything. And then it was like she completely forgot she was so high up, as she began to enjoy the wind breezing through her hair. She even started to giggle in disbelief that she was doing something so daring.

'See, I told you babe. It feels amazing, doesn't it? There's really nothing like it.'

'Yeah! It's a cliche, but I really do feel like I'm on top of the world right now!'

'That's exactly how it's supposed to feel and I'm glad I can feel it with you now.'

'Me too.'

'Wanna go a bit faster?' Karmi laughed and couldn't believe she actually kind of wanted to.

'Okay, yeah! Why not!'

'Alright! You heard the lady, Baymax!'

Baymax streamlined through the sky, full speed ahead with ease and weaved in and out of Golden Gate Bridge and then twirled higher and higher up. It was so magical that it almost resembled Aladdin and Jasmine flying through the world on their magic carpet. And it really did feel like a whole new world to Karmi. Then without warning, Baymax suddenly nosedived. Karmi screamed again, but this time it was an adrenaline-filled scream of joy and she wasn't scared at all. She knew Hiro was always going to keep her safe no matter what. And most importantly, she trusted him. She hung onto him tight, just as he told her to and then within seconds, Baymax was preparing to land. His rockets cushioned their landing and then they were back down to earth.

'We have arrived at our destination. You may disembark now,' stated Baymax.

'Thanks, buddy. I really appreciate it.' Hiro patted him on the back and got off first and then helped Karmi down.

'Hiro! That was just marvellous! Thank you!' She hugged him and then they both took their helmets off.

'Aww, I'm glad you liked it! I wanted to sweep you off your feet - quite literally!'

'Haha, well you certainly did that and more.'

'And it doesn't stop there!' Hiro took Karmi's helmet and put both helmets away in a bag, then put his hands over Karmi's eyes and turned her around.

'Hey! What are you doing, doofus?' Hiro giggled and then took his hands away.

'Open your eyes.' Karmi turned around to see a very fancy all-you-can-eat restaurant, with a chauffeur at the entrance.

'Oh, Hiro. This must have cost a bomb!'

'Well, technically Fred's paying. But I did offer to pay him back!'

'Oh, well that makes sense. Still, I appreciate it a lot. I feel so spoiled!'

'Haha, well you deserve it.' Hiro turned to Baymax. 'Hey, Baymax. Thanks for everything, buddy. You can go back home now. We'll get the limo home.'

'You are welcome. Have a lovely night. Goodbye.' Baymax waved and flew off.

'See you at home!' Hiro waved him off.

'Wait, hang on! Did you just say LIMO?!' exclaimed Karmi.

'Yeah, Fred said we could hop in with him. Speaking of Fred…'

Karmi was still processing the prospect of riding in a limo, when Heathcliff pulled up in front of the restaurant entrance. Hiro and Karmi held hands and crossed the road to meet them. Fred exited the limo first and extended his hand gentlemanly for Olivia. She stepped out in a sparkly blue dress and a rather quirky hairstyle. Fred and Olivia were definitely made for each other. Hiro cleared his throat to announce their arrival.

'Oh, Hiro! Karmi! What great timing! You're both looking great!' said Fred.

'Thank you, you're looking uh… nice too,' said Karmi hesitantly. 'And it's nice to see you again, Olivia.'

'Nice to see you too! And you, Hiro.' Hiro nodded and smiled at her.

'Right! I don't know about you, but I can't wait any longer! I'm heading straight for the seafood section!' Fred rushed ahead and checked everyone in at the front desk.

'Well, this is different… I've never had a reservation for anything before,' said Karmi.

'Oh, me and Fred come here all the time! We could get you in anytime you like or anywhere in San Fran for that matter!'

'Oh, thanks. I'll have to keep that in mind next time I come down.'

Karmi didn't want to get too used to this, but thought she should allow herself to enjoy it tonight. As soon as they walked in, a waiter guided them to their seats, which were a very regal red velvet. It was a fairly posh restaurant, but also had a very modern feel to it. "Classic" by MKTO started playing, as the couples sat down next to each other and read the menu. It was a self-service restaurant, but the establishment was so fancy, that they provided an in-depth description of everything available. Fred had no time for this, however and leapt from his seat. He was still the same old Fred from the Christmas dinner, thought Karmi as she laughed at him.

'Right, well I'm going to go up with him. We shouldn't be too long,' said Olivia.

'Oh, no worries. I'm still deciding what I want anyway,' said Karmi.

'You can have anything you like, babe. It's all been paid for. I hope you left room. I did,' said Hiro, with a smug smirk on his face.

'Oh, is that a challenge?'

'Well, I bet I could eat more than you.'

'Hmm, challenge accepted! What does the winner get though?'

'Hmm...' Hiro thought about it. 'Well, how about the winner gets to choose what we do for our next date?'

'Okay, you're on!' Olivia and Fred returned with mountains of food.

'You better get in there fast! All the good stuff is flying off the shelves!' exclaimed Fred.

'Alright. Come on, Karmi.'

They both started off lightly with medium sized plates, which was probably wise considering they were in competition with each other. Fred and Olivia wolfed down their first plate and were already up for a second helping, before Hiro and Karmi even finished their first plate. They were too busy giving each other cheeky looks and trying to put the other off their food. Then minutes later, they finished their plates and got up at exactly the same time.

'Oh, I'm so going to win. I see you were struggling a bit near the end there,' teased Hiro.

'Haha! In your dreams! I've barely got started.'

Hiro chuckled and piled more food on his plate. Karmi made sure to keep up with him and added more to her plate too. After they added everything that they could, they smirked at each other and sat back down. They both looked at each other and raised the first forkful of food to their mouths almost in sync. However, before round two could begin, the whole restaurant froze when a piercing scream from outside vibrated in everyone's ears. The music swiftly stopped and everyone panicked. Hiro dropped his fork immediately and turned to Fred. They both just nodded.

'We'll have to call it a draw, Karmi. Stay here! I'll be right back!' said Hiro firmly.

Hiro and Fred rushed out the back of the restaurant, through the fire exit door.

'Hiro!' cried Karmi. Olivia remained unfazed and didn't call after Fred.

'It's probably just some random deadbeat causing trouble again. Fred and Hiro'll make short work of 'em. Best to leave them to it,' said Olivia. She drank her wine casually.

'Wait, you know?!'

'Oh, yeah. Freddie told me ages ago and I'm pretty used to it now. And I quite like my boyfriend being a superhero, actually.'

'Well, I can't just sit around. I gotta go after Hiro.'

Karmi darted out the door. Hiro and Fred had just got into their supersuits, when Karmi came bursting out. Hiro looked over in surprise.

'Karmi! Stay in the restaurant! Fred and I will handle this!'

'No! I can't let you put yourself in danger again! Not after last time!' Hiro walked over to her and put a hand on her shoulder.

'Karmi. I do this all the time. We'll be back soon. I promise.' They stared deep into each other's eyes and then Hiro ran off.

'Wait! At least let me come with you! I've got a helmet!'

'No! It's too dangerous. You don't even have a proper suit. Stay there!' Hiro shouted back.

He wasn't talking to her as Hiro at all at this point, but as Captain Cutie. And he was dead serious. Karmi had to accept defeat and watched Hiro and Fred run towards the commotion. This was Karmi's absolute worst nightmare. She panicked and erratically decided to run back inside to get the helmet. She pulled it out of the bag and put it on.

Back outside, Baymax and the others had arrived for backup. They were fighting droids with laser guns. These droids weren't ordinary robots at all though. They were menacing and had dark red eyes, with resilient exoskeletal bodies. Whoever designed them was an evil genius, to say the least. Thankfully, Big Hero 6 seemed to have the situation under control and the droids were taken out swiftly, with no harm done to anyone. Karmi sprinted out with her helmet and tried to join the action, when Hiro knocked the circuitry out of the last remaining droid, with a seismic explosion from a new device he had been working on.

'Karmi! I told you to wait inside!' shouted Captain Cutie. The rest of the team looked at each other awkwardly.

'Looks like a real lover's tiff here,' whispered Wasabi. Everyone nodded in agreement and watched the argument unfold.

'Well, I couldn't just sit around and do nothing!' Captain Cutie walked up to her.

'I understand, babe. But you've got to be careful. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if you ever got hu-'

One of the droids wasn't quite destroyed yet and slowly raised its gun. It shot it at Karmi. Baymax quickly intervened and got in the way of the shot, but at a cost. The direct hit tore apart his armour, leaving him lying helpless on the floor. Hiro quickly reacted and kicked the gun out of the droid's hand and then made sure it was taken out for good this time. Karmi looked over at Hiro in pure shock and put her hands over her mouth. She could have been a goner in the blink of an eye there.

'You see, this is what I mean! It's not pretty. But this is the sort of thing we do. To keep YOU and everyone else safe!'

Hiro was mad at Karmi, but he was only trying to make her see how real and raw his superheroing life was and how much he cared about her safety.

'I'm- I'm sorry. Is Baymax going to be okay?' asked Karmi.

'Should be. Nothing a quick repair job shouldn't fix.' Hiro bent down to have a look at the damage Baymax sustained. 'You're gonna be okay, buddy. Just hang in there. Thanks for saving my girl.' Baymax could only muster a shaky thumbs up. Hiro smiled at him and then got up.

'I'm sorry for reacting like that. I just really need you to understand how important it is to keep yourself safe in these situations. I mean, I almost lost you there… But I'm just glad you're okay.' Hiro hugged Karmi tight.

'It's okay. I understand, babe. But who's behind this all? Who could program a robot to be that ruthless and cold?'

'This…' Hiro paused and looked over at the killer robot sparking out on the ground, then turned back to Karmi. 'This is the work of The Eliminator…'
