"Thank you… Miki…" Ihr cried a little bit as he smiled for the first time. Gordon noticed his smile and he was surprised.
"Ihr! Y-You're smiling!" Gordon spoke. Ihr nodded.
"Uh huh. I finally have a reason to smile, Gordie." Ihr began, weakly pointing to Sayaka.
"The attorney did the impossible and saved my life… I thought my time had come… I was ready to die… but the attorney… she gave me hope. Hope just feels so foreign to me… but it feels good… it feels good to finally be able to envision a future for myself…" Ihr sobbed as he spoke. Tears cascaded down his cheeks as his whole body trembled. "...I can finally smile." Ihr finished. By now, he was lost in Gordon's arms, crying into his best friend's shoulder. Sayaka and Mami couldn't help but smile. The girls loved a happy ending.
"So… what should we do to celebrate your freedom?" Madoka asked. Ihr smiled.
"Let's go hang out at Gordie's… his dad makes the best cookies…" Ihr spoke with genuine happiness in his quiet, soft voice. Gordon and Ihr led the girls over to his place, which was a bus ride away from the courtroom. The party of four entered the red brick house, greeted by the delectable smell of chocolate chip cookies. It was here where they would celebrate Ihr's freedom, with cookies, smiles, and love. Meanwhile, across town in a dynamite factory, all was quiet. Eerily quiet. The owner's office playing host to an unfortunate event. The office was dark, thanks to the night sky. An older man with bushy black hair was sitting at a desk, counting his hard earned money when a girl came in, holding a stack of seemingly defective dynamite. She had a rattled glare in her eyes. The office man was stunned by her glare, and couldn't say anything as she pulled out a shot gun and blasted the phone on the desk before lighting the stick of dynamite and hurling it at the office man. She then left the room and blocked the door, preventing the office man's escape as the dynamite went off, obliterating the whole office. The girl scoffed before running away from the building. She took out her own phone and called the police.
"H-Hello?! Y-Yes, police! Mr. Grant Axelrod! H-He's dead!" The girl's voice sounded panicked and shrill, as if to sell something serious to the police. "T-The security guard! Byrde! She did it!" The girl made a glaring accusation as she hung up the phone. Soon, Policemen arrived and the security guard was arrested. The next day, the explosion was all over the news. The headline read: "El Bombi owner Grant Axelrod dead! Maggey Byrde prime suspect!" Sayaka looked over the paper and stood up tall, just like the did before the first case.
"I'm not gonna let this innocent girl go to jail! I'm taking up her case!" Sayaka boldly proclaimed. Mami looked up from her coffee.
"This is your third case in as many days, Sayaka. Aren't you worn out?" Mami seemed concerned. Sayaka looked to her mentor.
"Justice never takes a day off. I'm gonna find who's really behind this!" Sayaka re-stated her intentions. Mami nodded.
"In that case, I'm trusting you to handle this case yourself. I cannot help you today, for my body needs a rest." Mami gave Sayaka the go ahead. Sayaka smiled.
"I can do this, Mami! I'll put your lessons to use!" Sayaka turned and waved goodbye as she bolted from the office, flagging down a taxi to reach El Bombi. This time, she was handling a case all by herself.
