With the map in her hand, Taylor guided herself and Paul around the hospital as they tried to find Rebecca, but whoever took her hid her somewhere deep within the hospital, they've tried different surgery rooms, but no sign of recent use.

Administrative rooms were also disjointed, none saw use since the evacuation, broken glass made it difficult for them to check thoroughly.

No sign of the man with the illuminating eyes, Paul kept watch for him, as he doubted the man had gone away, having already made his presence back when he gave Paul those keys.

He hadn't told Taylor, he wanted to, since it's in his nature to be upfront with her, but every time the thought crossed his mind, Paul could never tell her about the man with illuminating eyes, despite his attempts.

Already, he figured out that the man didn't want him to tell-all about him yet didn't attempt to ensure that Paul didn't remember him, awfully peculiar, this one, almost like he had a plan, a reason for not wiping Paul's mind.

Something's afoot and Paul didn't like it, not one bit, but because of their situation, he had no other choice but rely on the mysterious man to guide them to Rebecca, as they risked missing her, or worse.

"If you're still in my head, tell me, where is the girl?" Paul called out to the man, suspecting he's somewhere hidden in the crevice of his mind, waiting.

How he averted Paul's natural mental walls, Paul didn't know, this wasn't a normal man, after all, but it did seem that he had his own form of standards, as he didn't attempt Paul's life with the breach.

Further proving Paul's point.

Paul heard a low chuckle, it sounded like the man was beside him, that he turned his head, but the man wasn't there.

"Follow… my… voice… Mister… Smith," he heard the voice seemingly moving ahead of him, as if the man was there, walking in front of him, and with Taylor trailing behind, Paul followed the voice.

The voice continued guiding Paul until he finds an area that wasn't on the map, a hidden door.

It was latched from the other side, but somehow the voice was able to unlatch it, allowing the two inside a frigid hallway that stunk heavily of cleaning products.

Bright white lights above, used to help further sterilize the whole area, it looked like someone constructed their own hospital within the rotted husk of an abandoned hospital, unusual as it sounded, but not expected for someone like Paul.

His father always told him of the twists and turns during his adventuring that he held close to his chest to this day.

The voice continued to guide him, like a ghost, Taylor not far behind, her emerald eyes peering around every corner as she stayed close to Paul, seeing the sharp contrast between this hallway and the hallways they traversed.

Someone took the time of scrubbing the walls down, cleaning the floors, there's still a strong smell of ammonia wafting in parts of the floor.

Heavily cleaned, heavily sterile, there was truth to Rebecca's story, after all, but that didn't ease hers or Paul's concerns for the girl.

More, why this mythical doctor left Taylor in the basement, perhaps because she wasn't the intended target, to what ends keeping her down there, she didn't know.

The doctor patched the wound on her neck, that much she knew, a macabre view on the Oath, maybe.

She stopped as she saw Paul doing the same ahead of her, he stiffly turned his body towards a door of an unusual appearance, macabre, itself.

Reaching out, Paul attempted to open the door, but it didn't have a doorknob.

An unusual indention that wasn't like anything Paul saw for a doorknob insert.

Looked like a keyhole.

Strange.

The voice in his head disappeared, try as he might, he didn't hear it, forced to think on his feet, Paul used his Sonic Screwdriver to forcibly open the door.

One twist, the door gave, and he opened it.

Inside, it's a small recovery room, already there's signs of something wrong, and in the middle, there's someone slumped over.

Paul went ahead of Taylor, keeping her behind him as he stepped close.

It's a man, wearing a hunter's vest.

Knelt beside him, Paul reached out to touch his shoulder, with a tug the man's body listlessly moved, the head slopped to the side, revealing that his face gone.

Where his eyes, mouth, and nose should've been, all gone, the sight alone frightened Taylor while she stood to the side as she recoiled in fright.

Checking his pulse, Paul found he had been dead for hours, a day or two at most.

Suffocation.

Rooting around his pockets, it confirmed Paul's suspicion.

It was Samuel.

Confirmed by the driver's license tucked away in a leather-bound wallet.

Seeing his picture, Paul sees Samuel's bright blue eyes, bit of a small nose, and Cupid's bow lips, looking back, a stark contrast to the person laying before him.

With nothing left to check, Paul stood up, saddened by Samuel's death, before Taylor wondered aloud, "Who was she talking to, then?"

Processing what they found, Samuel mused, "That my dear, is a good question."

Taylor witnessed the unusual creature, but it couldn't have been the one giving them instructions…

They're startled by a sound of movement, their options limited, Paul hid them in the corner of the room after quickly closing the door.

Doubling back in the corner where the door opened towards them, the pair listened quietly to the sounds of popping joints, indistinct noises, as it went through the hallway.

There are odd pauses in the movements, enough for Paul to find a pattern in whoever or whatever's moving having limited movement.

What sounded like forever, the movements disappeared further up the hallway, leaving the pair to exhale sharply as they slowly moved out of their hiding spot.

"That creature…" Paul muttered as the creature spotted by Taylor has made its way to the hospital, it made perfect sense to him, as his angel eyes looked towards the door that he and Taylor came through.

Exiting the room, the pair looked up the hallway where they heard the noises heading, determination in Paul's angel eyes as he reached out to the voice lurking somewhere in his head.

"Where is Rebecca?" Paul called out to the voice, it didn't leave then, it wasn't leaving, now, and as if it knew he'd call for it, once again, Paul heard a response.

It sounded like it was in front of him, though no one standing there, "Follow… me… Mister… Smith… I will… lead you… to her..."

The odd pauses, the enunciations, it sounded like something trying to speak like a human, but failing at that aspect, an unusual character this, made Paul wonder just who the man with the illuminating eyes really is, and why he's helping Paul.

"Paul, what's going on?" Taylor pressed him for answers, seeing him acting oddly, his subtle movements.

Turning his head, Paul tried telling her about the voice in his head, but it's though he couldn't get the words out of his mouth, he's being gagged from talking about it, and knew it was part of the man with the illuminating eyes' plans.

Though, unable to tell Taylor this, bothered him considerably, unfortunately, they needed the voice's guide finding Rebecca, that Paul managed to tell Taylor, "Please… trust me…"

Seeing the look in his angel eyes, Taylor nodded, trusting him without question.

Thanking her, Paul listened to the voice guiding them further up the hallway, going the same direction as the noises.

His angel eyes swaying, Paul watched for signs of the man with the illuminating eyes, seemingly out of sight, but he never turned up, and the voice concluded his and Taylor's guidance by disappearing once again, right in front of a similar door to the one where they found Samuel.

Using his Sonic Screwdriver, Paul opened the door with ease, when he stepped in first, Rebecca almost attacked him out of desperation.

She stopped the moment she saw it was him, wrapping her arms pitifully around him as he's surprised.

"He's real!" Rebecca tells him and Taylor.

Comforting her, Paul assured her that he and Taylor won't let the doctor take Rebecca, while Taylor takes off her jacket, wrapping it around Rebecca's shoulders as she trembled in fear.

"I'm sorry…" Rebecca whispers as she felt responsible for the whole thing, that she caused this to happen, but Paul tells her that if it wasn't her, it'd be someone else.

Releasing her grip on him, Rebecca turned to Taylor for comfort as Paul led them out of the room.

A predicament where Paul couldn't get them to safety, he's forced to work with what he had, as his parents before him did much of their adventures.

"He came to me, asking questions, you just missed him, he went to file the papers," Rebecca informed Paul and Taylor they missed the doctor by almost twenty minutes.

Those twenty minutes further unnerved Rebecca, waiting for the doctor to return for her, her brown eyes incapable of looking away from the door.
