I chuckled as I saw her checking my car from every angle. She was here to help Masen with Math homework.

"Do you plan to destroy it again?" I went to her and asked.

"Oh, you startled me!" She said, "I'm so happy it's almost close to how it was before!"

"That's just luck that we got it back to how it was... It took days, but there we go! I finally got it back!" I said.

"I'm really sorry for almost destroying it," she smiled nervously.

Damn, that smile!

It managed to melt me every single time!

I definitely should ask her out someday.

But how would she take it?

She might not even take my feelings seriously!

Plus, there were so many issues going on with her parents, and she was already disturbed because of that. I wasn't sure if she'd like to do anything with me right now!

"Can I ask you something?" She said.

"Yeah," I said.

"Did you lose in the debate on purpose?" she asked.

Ummm... what?

How did she figure that out?

Wasn't I too subtle about that?

"What?" I asked, "Why would I do so?"

"Because I didn't understand how in the world you could lose that!" She said.

"I... I completely blanked out," I lied, "I've been having a lot of concentration issues right now."

"Oh really?" She said, "My cousin is using some therapies for that. She was telling me it's really helpful. I can share her contact with you if you want."

I smiled.

That's what I liked about her. She had a kind heart and she always believed in a healthy competition. She would never shy away from helping anyone, including her rival!

"Thanks, I'll let you know about that," I smiled.

Maybe I was thinking too much. I just needed to ask her out. What's the worst that could happen? She'd reject me, that's it!

But then I'd need to face her everyday, and that would really be awkward.

No, I was tired. I'd just ask her out.

"Bella, I was thinking..."

"Hey sorry, sorry, sorry!" Masen came running from his football match, "Sorry for keeping you waiting, Bella!"

"How was the match?" She asked.

"We won, obviously," he said.

"That's great!" She said, "You need to hurry up. I need to go early today."

"Sure, let me take a quick shower," he said as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders, "Come, let's go in."

"Ewww... You stink!" She said as she shrugged his arm away, "See you later, Edward!"

"Yeah, bye," I smiled.

"Shut up! I don't stink," he wrapped his arm around her again.

"Yes, you do," she said, but this time she didn't shrug his arm away.

"You know what happened today? I was about to smack Tyler," he said as they were about to enter the house.

"What? Why?" She giggled.

I sighed.

What was I even thinking?

I was an outsider here.

I was glad I didn't ask her!
