Rogue Nirvana is being pushed back, Davis and his friends are holding them back, and it looks good so far. The forces from the east and west have been stopped, but there are still problems coming from the north and the south. Meanwhile, another battle was sure to happen. Sierra and Kimi were assigned to bring down a base camp that was set in the woods. They were able to follow it and found it.

"It looks like an abandon airfield." Kimi said as she and Sierra were scoping the place out. "Looks like they're using it now as that base camp."

"You're right." Sierra said as she had a look around and saw some followers of Rogue Nirvana around the place. "It's only the two of us. Do you think we can take this whole place?"

"What are you talking about? Of course we can." Kimi said. "I'll divert their attention while you get in there and wreck all their supplies. If we do this together, we can bring this whole place down. The sooner we do that, the sooner we can rejoin the others."

"Agreed. Let's tear this place down and..." Sierra was agreeing with what Kimi was thinking, but she looked around and spotted her father was down there. No matter how many of them there were down there, he's the one that really got to her.

"Sierra, are you okay?" Kimi said as she was concerned about how Sierra was feeling. "We can go at your pace, when you're ready."

"No. We need to do this now. The longer we hold out, the better it could be for the enemy." Sierra said as she tried to bring out the strength she needs to fight. "Let's... How does that saying go? Strike while the iron is burning?"

"Strike while the iron is hot, but you got it." Kimi said. Facing her father was the toughest thing Sierra could do, but she's got to do it.

'Please, Davis... Give me the strength I need.' Sierra hoped as the two of them went on ahead to tear that place apart.

...

The South

Senka was moving his forces to the south, through the city. He could see the academy just down the street he was walking down. The attack on the academy is almost upon him. He just couldn't wait for it to begin.

"This is going to be fun." Senka said. His forces kept moving down the street and was getting ready to attack, but they had to put that march to a stop. A series of attacks came down from above and blasted the forces. Senka looked up and could see the enemy attacking with it being Marinda, Ichika, and Fria. "I was wondering when they were going to show up."

"Looks like that got their attention." Fria said.

"Yeah, but there sure is a lot of them down there." Ichika said. "Can the three of us really bring down a force like that?"

"Do not show fear or hesitation, Orimura." Marinda said. "The enemy will see it and exploit it. If we can outmaneuver them, remain one step ahead, we can defeat this enemy."

"I guess so. Besides, we're suppose to get some help here. Speaking of which, where are they? Shouldn't they have been here by now?" Ichika questioned.

"I spoke to Chifuyu about that. We are not getting any help. It's only the three of us." Marinda said.

"What?!" Ichika said as he didn't like how that sounded at all. It was just the three of them against an army that numbered somewhere between a hundred and a thousand.

"Ichika, listen to Marinda! Do not hesitate! Keep your resolve strong!" Fria said. "They are about to make their move!" They all looked down and spotted the army was getting ready to attack as they opened fired on them. The three of them flew around and tried to avoid the attacks.

"We must also exert caution and such. This attack came without warning." Marinda said. "Hopefully, some if not most or all citizens were wise enough to evacuate the area."

"How exactly are we suppose to defeat an entire force like this?!" Ichika said as he didn't like how this was looking.

"Stay sharp and keep your resolve strong. It's an entire army that we must defeat!" Marinda claimed. "Like so!" She dived straight down with her weapon ready. She crashed right into the ground and sent a bunch of men flying from the impact alone.

"That's Marinda for you. She doesn't do anything halfway." Ichika said.

"Ichika, focus!" Fria said as she opened fired at the enemy and tried blasting them. Ichika got out of his own head and got straight to work.

"They're right. I've got to get my head in the fight." Ichika said as he fired away at them with his own cannon, but it was rather difficult to get a precise hit. "Fria, cover me! I'm better at close combat than this!"

"I've got your back!" Fria said. The two of them flew straight down at the enemy and tried to attack them as they flew straight down. The three of them were taking this army by storm. While they were fighting, Senka kept back and just watched the show unfold.

"Only three of them? I was expecting more, but I suppose they're spread pretty thin." Senka said. "I guess it's about time I jump in and I'm rather excited to see what my new Shadow Unit can do." He stared down at his Shadow Unit around his wrist and was looking forward to use it. "Now, who should I use this on first?" Senka looked around and tried to decide who he should fight. "I've seen what Orimura can do and I'm not all that impressed. The Russian looks fun, but I think that kind of fun will only last shortly. That just leaves her..." He had his sights set straight on Marinda. "I'm not too familiar with her, she certainly has some skill, and it looks like she's the strongest fighter. I think I have my opponent."

"Is this all you can do?" Marinda said as she pulled out a pair of twin axes and used them to deflect each attack thrown at her. "I expected more out of Rogue Nirvana." She flew straight at some soldiers and blew them all away in a single attack. She even fired some shots from the impact cannons she had and did some real damage. Marinda readied herself for another attack, but the attacks were put on hold when. She heard someone clapping for her. As she turned to see where that sound was coming from, she was met with Senka.

"Very nicely done." Senka said as he walked over to her. "You certainly have some power. Much more skill than those other fools."

"I take it you're one of the Four Heavenly Kings." Marinda said.

"That I am. I am Senka Suzaku." He introduced himself.

"Suzaku... Named after the infamous vermillion bird from mythology that is also a deity of the south, some think that it's actually a phoenix." Marinda said.

"And you have some intelligence as well. You're already working up to be quite the opponent." Senka said. "May I ask who you are?"

"I am the one who fought to protect our world and our way of life. The daughter of one who sought to conquer and enslave our world. My name is Marinda, and you probably know my twin brother: Davis Motomiya."

"Motomiya?!" Senka said as he was astonished and pleased to hear that. "You're his sister?!" Hearing that she hold a relation to him, he couldn't stop laughing in delight. "I owe that little bastard some serious payback. To think I would run into his sister of all people."

"Save it. Who I am related to really has nothing to do with me." Marinda said. "Why don't we skip the formalities? It's obvious that you're only here because you want to fight me. We were going to come to you either way."

"Have it your way. I'm just itching to try out my new Shadow Unit either way, and you'll be the first I use it on!" Senka said as he unleashed it's power. His Shadow Unit formed around his body. It was a dark red with a chest piece resembling the face of a bird. He was also given thrusters on a wingspan. The thrusters ignited and gave the illusion that he had wings made of fire. To ad to it, he was given a shimmering sword that even had a red diamond in it.

"So... This is one of those Shadow Units I heard about." Marinda said as she was faced with one for the first time.

"That's right. It's called Firebird, and it's fitting for me given my name and what you said earlier." Senka said as he took the stance with his sword hanging over his left. "Let's see what this thing can really do!" Senka didn't wait around as he flew straight at Marinda and tried to attack, but Mardina flew straight up and avoided his attack.

'He certainly didn't wait around.' Marinda thought as she flew straight up. 'His stance, timing, movement, and technique were all quite skilled. It seems that he has some prior knowledge on wielding a sword.'

"Don't runaway yet!" Senka said as he flew after her. "The fun is just getting started!" He flew at her and tried striking at her with his sword again. She tried blocking it with her axes, but it seems like they weren't enough. She spun around and tried to strike him, but Senka moved away from her at just the right time. "Too slow."

"The battle is just getting started." Marinda said as she switched her weapons around and brought out her own club. Marinda was the one to attack this time. She tried striking him a few times, but Senka blocked each attack that was thrown at him. She threw her blade down hard on him, but Senka was able to keep that attack back as well.

"Not bad, but not good either." Senka teased.

"What do you take me for? An inexperienced pilot?" Marinda taunted. She powered up her cannons and fired them at point-blank and knocked him back. Marinda thought she had him with that, but he appeared to brush the attack off.

"That was pretty good. Those impact blasts, or whatever they're called, really do pack a punch." Senka said. Marinda didn't think highly of the foot soldiers, but Senka is proving to be the type of challenge she was looking for. "Now I believe it's my turn to show something interesting." He held his sword to his side and it began to glow red.

"What's this?" Marinda questioned.

"Moeru Tsubasa!" He swung the sword and unleashed a blazing slash right at Marina. Luckily, Marinda flew up and avoided the attack. However, she still felt some heat and force from that attack, and it had some real power to it.

"What was that?" Marinda questioned.

"That was just one of the many tricks I can try now." Senka claimed. "Just like the mighty phoenix, I will burn you down with my immortal flames." Senka is acting like a mighty firebird, one that takes on his foes with it's mighty flames. Marinda must figure out how to extinguish those flames.

...

Davis: My sister seems to have her hands full with Senka. Nothing she seems to throw at him is enough because it seems like he's getting back up. It's certainly different from when I fought him. As for Kimi and Sierra, Sierra finally gets to settle things with her father. However, someone is going to have to cross a line if they want to win their fight.

Next time: Crossing the Line

They might be our enemies, but do they deserve that?
