It is now Monday the first of September and Bill felt like he'd fallen in love with his wife all over again. Since they left number 12 he's truly gotten to know Hermione, and he's said it several times since the 2nd of July... but he is one lucky Wizard. They did pop to Diagon Alley briefly yesterday to buy his teaching robes and to register their marriage with the Ministry of Magic to make it official in both the Muggle and Wizarding worlds. He's pretty sure neither of his parents have been back to the Burrow yet to see Hermione's name change to Weasley or else he's ninety percent sure his mother would be hunting him down.

"What has you so deeply lost within your thoughts?" His beautiful wife asked him as she wrapped her arms around him from behind, kissing his spine. He pulled her around and crushed his lips to hers, enjoying the last few moments of silence and peace with his wife.

"I was thinking that I'm glad my parents haven't been to the Burrow yet, or else I'm pretty sure my mother would be hunting me down." He told her, resting his forehead against her own.

"Molly can't control everything Bill, and if she tries with our own home or takes over with the babies when they arrive..." he kissed her lips.

"I know love!" He sighed, he'd have to talk to his father about that one. Bill understands she'll be excited to have grandkids BUT he also knows that even though his wife would appreciate the help, his mother has a tendency to take over things and likes things done her way.

"Are you ready?" He asked her. She looks stunning in her new pregnancy robes, that show off their twins.

"I should be asking you that, love." She kissed him. He'd had the Professor's meeting, this morning then they spent the rest of the afternoon in their bubble.

"I'm not bothered about me, Hermione. This is a big change for you. It'll be interesting to see how they all react to seeing you sit with me at the Professor's table."

"Indeed it will..." Headmaster Dumbledore said stepping through the floo network. They both jumped and found Professor McGonagall there too.

"I think your wife might need to be seated for this Professor Weasley." Bill noticed the old headmaster looked rather upset, and McGonagall looked torn. He gestured to the sofa and lead his confused wife over.

"I should have told you sooner Mrs Weasley, but after the news, I've just received I'm not going to hide anymore. My daughter and her husband, your parents have died in a muggle accident, I'm reluctant to say, as I don't want it to be true. Helen and I had a very distant relationship with she met Riley Granger. She didn't want anything to do with this world, she met him towards the end of the first Wizarding war and broke her wand to prove how serious she was about Mr Granger. She didn't want me to have anything to do with you, Hermione because in her eyes, that was her way of protecting her family. I did warn her, that her choices might backfire and put you in further danger by making you think you are a muggle-born." His wife sat there in stunned silence, her hands holding their twins, face blank and eyes wide.

"She's gone into shock Professor Weasley," Professor McGonagall said, as she looked at Hermione a little worried herself. Bill wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into him, that's when the tears fell and a sob escaped her lips as she cried into his chest. Dumbledore went to move forwards but Bill shook his head.

"What time are the students arriving again!" He asked.

"Half an hour," Dumbledore said quietly.

"H-how did they die?" She said between sobs.

"Some kind of vehicle in Australia." Hermione really did cry, and he picked her up and carried her to their room. She'd tried protecting them from this world only to be killed in her world. He just sat on their bed, leaning against the headboard as she held onto him tightly. He kissed her forehead and just told her everything was going to be okay. She eventually quietened down and he realised she'd cried herself to sleep. When he tried to move she'd hold him tighter. Dumbledore came in and passed him a potion.

"Calming draught... I wanted to contact Helen when the three of them faced Voldemort in her first year. I fear that being a muggle-born witch in these times isn't going to offer her any protection. At least being a half-blood will give her that extra security. I understand if neither of you can make the feast tonight, I don't particularly want to go myself, but I will make an announcement at breakfast, and request Hermione sit between myself and you." He nodded in thanks.

"I don't think she'll want the others to know right this second anyway, or for people to see her like this," he explained to Dumbledore and Dumbledore nodded.

"If she doesn't want to be by herself tomorrow, I am free most of the morning until lunch."

"I will speak with her when she wakes... she might kill me for saying this but I think she's even more upset than the average person because she erased their memories of her in order to protect them from this war and sent them to Australia for their retirement. They left Hermione a lot of money when she explained what she wanted to do. Instead, they die in the muggle world, in a muggle accident." He explained to Dumbledore, whose eyes widened in surprise.

"She really is a clever little witch, my granddaughter, with my genes. It is why I trusted her with my own time-turner."

"Your time-turner?" His wife said surprise in her voice. Bill passed her the calming draught.

"Yes, Hermione. I wouldn't have trusted a ministry one. I'm assuming you won't be using it now?" He asked her.

"No, I don't want to hurt the babies." He nodded.

"Would you like to come to the feast still or stay here with Bill?" Dumbledore asked her.

"I want to come, may as well get it over with. Plus I'm now suddenly really hungry." She said hiccuping, whiling the tears from her eyes.

"Are you sure love? Dumbledore has said we can skip, and he will make an announcement at breakfast."

"No, I don't want to hide. I don't want to hide from who I am, just because they aren't here anymore and she hid. She knows how much the bullying hurt me, yet she knew I wasn't a muggle-born. A part of me understands why she did what she did to protect me but it hurts when she knew something could have helped me and didn't. I've also wondered why the Basilisk didn't petrify me like other muggle-borns when it stared into my eyes. I've never told anyone this as I didn't think it would be a good idea. I guess I have my answers now." She said sadly.

"The only time I got to be close to you that isn't Hogwarts Hermione, is when you were born. That was the last time I saw you, until your first year. Don't be too angry with Helen, she made a choice, yes it's hurt you. She genuinely did think that she was protecting you and Riley." He pulled a photo out of his inner robe pocket and handed it to her.

She surprised them both by getting up and hugging him, and he could tell how much that meant to the old Headmaster being reunited with his granddaughter. He could understand why her mother did what she did, but to make your child believe you are someone when you aren't, isn't a very easy thing to forgive something that could have been prevented maybe like the bullying or at least made her life a little less stressful.

"Just to make sure love, you are one hundred percent sure you want to come down this evening?" I ask my wife, standing up, she steps back from the embrace and takes hold of my hand. She schools her face into a mask of unreadable emotion, even though you can see she's been crying, nobody would know what from.

"Yes, I won't hide, I take it I am a half-blood?" She asked.

"Yes," Dumbledore confirmed for her.

"I will be informing the students and staff of what has happened and to give us space to grieve. I will also be claiming you as my kin to give you more protection as the war progresses I fear that muggle-borns will be targeted and I won't allow what little family I have left to be put in any more danger." He told them. Hermione nodded drying her eyes and Dumbledore put the photo back inside his robe's inner pocket.

"Then let's go and get this over with, then I can come back and process everything." She said her voice cracking at the end. He squeezed her hand in silent support and Dumbledore nodded, leading the way out. Professor McGonagall stood up as we entered.

"My granddaughter has decided to come down, we will use the floo to the back room of the hall." Minerva smiled at the group, she was happy for Albus.

"The older students have arrived, just to warn you both." They stood in front of the fireplace and Bill got the floo powder and handed it to everyone.

"The sooner this is done, the quicker we can move on," Hermione said leaning into him.
