At the Stand…

Luz was reading her favorite book, Azura the Good Witch with great enthusiasm in her words.

This was her most favorite series of all time, the stories and characters are so beautiful, and it was amazing to read. It was one of the reasons she wanted to become a witch, she had a lot of reasons, and she thought the world would be like this book. Though there were many similarities, there was stuff that wasn't added in. Luz had the entire collection thanks to her father and stepfather… Her dad and the Writer are good friends in the human realm as Belos was someone else to Earth and the people. But that is a story for another time.

King became interested.

Eda was not amused.

"That flowery language is an insult to witches everywhere and is driving away our business," Eda warned with a feather duster in her hands.

"Umm… Eda, I don't see any customers or any other stands. No one's here." Luz pointed out as the Wild Witch realized it.

"Something's amiss… I have a feeling that there is something horribly, horribly wrong is happening today." Eda suspected as Luz's friends, Willow and Gus arrive.

"Guess what Luz! Something Awesomely, awesomely is happening today!" Gus grinned as Willow presented a flyer.

"It's the annual Coven's Convections today! Where you get to learn more about the covens before joining one!" Willow announced, "There's even a mystery guest."

"I knew something was fishy." Eda snarled.

"Oh Eda, try to live a little."

Eda jumped as Blueberry Parfait appeared out of nowhere.

"Seriously, you need to stop doing that!" Eda screeched at the palisman in the form of a woman.

The two gasped at the sight of her and bowed, surprising Luz.

"The Avian Advisor, it is an honor to be in your presence." They bowed to her as a superior.

She giggled slightly as she asked them to rise.

"I know your feelings with the system, and your warrants for your capture have been revoked, but the emperor wishes for your party to… attend." She informed formally with a bow and a bit of a glare at the wild witch.

"Plus, you might change your mind." Willow offered as Eda burned up the flyer in protest of what the Covens stood for.

"Listen, I don't care what the old man does, I'm not being caught dead in that place!" Eda declared as she remained defiant against the swan palisman.

Then Luz did something that would definitely make her father proud. With King reading from Luz's book, even when she tried to escape from the human world, Eda then decided to go in exchange for the ceasing of the book reading. Seems 'flowery' words give her a headache.

"I will also accompany you."

The group then began to walk as there were questions.

"Av-avian Advisor?" Gus squeaked.

"Please, call me Blue."

"O-okay, Blue? I was wondering…?

"Why was the Owl Lady's bounty revoked? Well… The emperor and she both benefit from what the other had and made a deal." She cryptically explained.

"And it was-?"

"Classified. For the moment. This secret is so confidential that only the Emperor's Coven is allowed that knowledge."

The two looked at each other and then at her.

"Trust me, this secret is worth keeping for now."

At the Coven Convection…

Luz marveled at the sights as she saw every coven in the room.

"There are so many Covens here. There are over a hundred of them but there are only Nine Major Covens." Willow began as she listed off so many covens that were around them and what they could do.

"Precisely, the Nine were the first Covens. These Nine were the ones who fought in the War of the Glyphs and were honored as such for their powers." Blueberry Parfait chimed in with pride in her voice while Eda ruled by the hypocrisy of it all.

"War of the Glyphs?" Luz wondered as this was the first time she ever heard of the war.

"Before the empire, there were kingdoms and many rulers. It was a simple time when the magic of all sorts was everywhere, and everyone knew their secrets and wonder. A wild age where magic was at its truest potential. It was a time when war was unknown. Someone then took advantage of that peace and harmony, using magic unlike any other, and started the usurpation of the isles. The rule was a horrible one and many suffered. The fate of the Demon Realm was thought to be sealed. These sinister rulers were called the Blood Crusaders."

"Here she goes…"

"Then came a man who took a stand against them. Belos, a carpenter turned advisor to a king of long ago. He then became an inspiration to other witches and demons. Soon there was enough to fight back for their lands, thus resulting in the War of the Glyphs. While their sinister magic and bought help of wild witches were vast in power, the emperor with the help of the Titan discovered a new form of magic, thus forming the nine covens to counteract the Blood Crusaders. In the end, we won…"

"And Emperor Dork decides he should run the place instead out of the goodness of his heart and restrict magic." Eda scoffed.

"Eda, unrestricted magic was what caused that nightmare of a war. Belos had no choice but to try to restore some order from the chaos." She countered.

"Well, someone needs to tell 'the good emperor' that the war is over, and he needs to loosen that iron grip of his. I tell you; the man is by far the most controlling dictator I have ever known."

"Why you-?"

"Hey Luz, let's check out some of the Covens," Willow suggested to the young girl as she and the three of them were soon showing Luz around.

"Sounds good!" Luz grinned as she didn't want to be a part of the catfight between her teacher and her father's palisman.
