At the Coven Convection…
Luz was enthralled by the separate Covens and their history but soon stumbled into Amity Blight, who was not pleased to see her.
"Oh, it's you. Willow's Abomination thing… It's thanks you, I got into trouble with Principal Bump, and I never get in trouble" She deadpanned in a cold tone, still bearing a grudge for what happened from the events that happened at Hexside.
"Actually; I'm a human. My name is Luz-." Luzura tried to explain to the top-ranked student as she felt kind of guilty about what happened, despite her being the one who convinced Principal Bump to try to dissect her.
That will be her little secret since she knew her father would have probably dissected Bump and then Amity. He was a very, very protective father, who would do anything for his sweet little princess, even execute people.
"Don't care, you're not supposed to be here, this is a coven for Witches, not powerless humans." Amity sharply told the girl.
"Well… I want to learn how to become one-."
"You can't just become one! Look, just get out of here, you don't belong here or in this world! Just get out of here!"
"H-hey, I can be as good as a witch as anyone. I have the most powerful witch in the isles to teach me and a demon king to help me learn Demonology." Luz proudly claimed as King appeared covered in stuff with an ice cream cone.
Amity decided to be mean, but Luz stood up to her challenging her to a witches' duel. That did not go unnoticed by the Palisman, Blueberry Parfait who watched it all with one eye glowing blue. She could hear the words of the Emperor of the Boiling Isles in her head as they stared at the pair. She could even feel his anger when Amity had Luz Bind her to a wager.
"How dared that girl? Blueberry, intervene and stop this! I will not allow anyone to bully my child."
"No, we shouldn't interfere."
"What?"
"Master, Philip, you know you can't always be there to protect the girl and she still needs to learn the rules of this realm. She is a tough little cookie, I am certain she can manage the duel, especially if Eda is going to pull some strings. You know their sibling rivalry can be somewhat over the top. The princess must grow up."
"…"
"You have nothing to fear from this."
"…Very well, but I wish for you to monitor it. Inform Lilith her student will not get overzealous. Interfere if it gets too dangerous. Kill the girl if it means protecting my daughter."
"As you wish. Hopefully, it doesn't come to that."
The Palisman then disappeared to find the witches.
Near a Stand…
Eda was mumbling about Lilith and how stupid these Coven were.
"Eda, it is so good to see you again," A voice from behind greeted, Eda turned to see her sister, "It seems that being on the emperor's payroll is doing wonders for you."
Time to rub it in her face.
"Yep, so you must have heard why it is."
"Yes, I heard." Lilith gritted through her teeth, "Under normal circumstances, the emperor would have never allowed it and of course thanks to our lineage…"
"Yep, looks like I'm a free bird. No Covens, no sigils, plus pay and having that kid around not too bad, too." Eda proudly proclaimed.
"Well, I think this job is a little out of your league," Eda spoke out.
"Come again?"
"That girl may be the future of the Boiling Isles and to have you as her mentor… it seemed like poor judgment. You can be a bad influence on her."
"Hey, I can teach the kid ten times better than you! In fact, she can outdo any student you have." Eda proudly proclaimed.
"Then this would be a perfect time to prove it."
They then turned to the Avian Advisor.
"Lilith, your student has challenged Eda's. Now, Emperor Belos will allow this, but you understand that things must be kept under control. If things are out of control, then I will have to step in and that is the last thing you want. Understood?"
"Yes, Ma'am."
"Crystal."
"Good."
At the Stadium an hour later…
Everyone was eager to see two students, the prodigy Amity vs the mysterious human student Luz in a Witches' Duel.
If they only knew who she really was… Man, a lot of people were going to be surprised. The Swan Palisman watched for her master as the Duel began to put him at ease. Since he couldn't be there in person, he could see it through her eyes. This was a big moment for his daughter, and he wouldn't miss it for a second.
The duel showed two things, Luz was as resourceful l as her mother and Lilith is petty enough to cheat. Well, Eda did the same thing, but Lilith claimed to be better. She should stay with two powerful witches to keep them from destroying the stadium, but she wanted to check Luzura and Amity. She watched from the corner as Luz consoled her rival. Parfait smiled at that, even when at the lowest, Luz would show her humanity.
"Just say you're not a Witch!" Amity demanded.
"…I'm not a witch." Luz sighed as Parfait wanted to step in but then Luz showed Amity a spell, "But I am training to become one."
Amity was stunned by what she had seen.
"How-how did you do that?"
"I figured it out. I've been trying hard to understand this word and become a witch. So, yeah, I'm not a witch but maybe I can become one, through training and hard work."
Pride.
A feeling both ghostly and by her own soul.
The emperor's spirit thrives with her.
Then came another surprise, Amity undid her bond and encouraged, in a rude manner to continue. Luz is defiantly Belo's daughter, just the right words and a good spirit and they could bring vigor and strength to the people around them. The strange creature then appeared.
"Come on, King. Let's get you more offerings."
"No need for a king. All I need is this." King presented as he looked like those cute purse creatures.
"Blue, I know you're listening. Please, leave Amity be. I know she's a bit rough but she's a good person." Luz requested, which caused Blue to sigh.
"Very well."
After the Witches' duel between Eda and Lilith was done, Luz went home with Eda, who was triumphant, slipping that she has parents.
How will she react to the Clawthrones being a part of the royal family?
