"This definately beats any other way of traveling!" Callum cheered as he, Rayla, Ezran, Bait and Soren flew through Xadia on the back of Pyrrah the dragon who, along with a couple other dragons was willing to help them get back to Katolis faster.

"Pyrrah says that they should be landing soon since it's getting pretty late, though!" Ezran called as he carefully bade his way to the dragons back from where he was at first sitting on her neck with Soren, translating netween the crown guard and dragon so they could talk.

"I guess it's getting pretty late." Callum agreed as he looked around before gasping.

"Look! It's the Midnight Desert!" he pointed down to the black sand.

"Whoa..." Ezran uttered in awe.

"Ugh!" Rayla groaned, not as excited.

"Rayla? What's wrong?" the boys turned to look at her.

"Sorry, but I just hate the Midnight Desert. Especially after what happened to Runaan's Moonstrider." Rayla huffed and Callum frowned in understanding.

"What happened to what now?" Ezran asked in confusion.

"So you know how we came here on that magical moon-tiger-thing?" Callum asked and he nodded.

"Well, we also had this sort of moon-deer-wolf but when we were down at that desert, a bunch of snapes ate his soul and now the thing isn't really dead but kinda dead inside and a sort of zombie running around." his brother explained, wincing in sympathy as he looked down at the desert as if trying to find the poor animal.

"O-oh wow... That's... That's not good." Ezran stuttered, unsure how to respond to hearing that.

"Tell me about it. Even before this happened, many elves don't want to come there because of the Soulfang Serpents but at least they're not active during the day." Rayla said.

"There's so many beautiful things at night but most people right away think of the Midnight Desert when they hear the word 'midnight'."

"But there's some good things at midnight too, like the moon and stars, right?" Ezran tried to cheer her up, grinning when she gave a small smile at that.

"Right, but there's other things too. Like, I don't know, Lunabloom flowers that glow brighter in the dark than during the day, or these twin waterfalls I know that glitters in the moonlight!" she listed off excitedly.

"How about you show us them sometime? Show us the nice things in Xadia that you only see at night instead of that creepy desert." Callum suggested.

"You know what? Yeah, that does sound like a good idea. I'll make a list and try to schedule it out." she nodded.

They all yelped when Pyrrah started lowering abruptly.

"I think she says her wings are getting sore!" Soren called over after the dragon rumbled.

"That's actually exactly what she said! Great job, Soren! You're getting better at understanding her!" Ezran cheered as he made his way back to the other.

Being the closest to alone as they could get, Callum took Rayla's hand in his and gave it a squeeze.

"I'm looking forward to seeing what Xadia has to offer at night." he said.

"Me too." she said, squeezing back.
