"Callum? What are you doing?" Ezran asked, as he walked up to his brother who was standing away from everyone else.
He wasn't even bothering to cheer Rayla on as she and Soren sparred against each other again.
Instead be was standing in an empty field, eyes closed as if he was trying to focus.
"Oh! Hey, Ez!" Callum greeted back with a smile as his eyes snapped open.
"Ibis agreed to teach me more sku-spells. He's over there." he pointed to a tree somewhere in the distance and waved and squinting his eyes Ezran could indeed see Ibis waving back.
"Want some fruit? What's this! Arcanum Antiquis!" Callum drew a rune.
"Please bring Ezran a fruit from that tree!" he then whispered in the air and for a moment Ezran could swear he saw the air ripple near his mouth.
"Uhm..." the young king went.
"Wait for it..." Callum grinned and held up a finger.
Ezran wanted to ask his brother what was going on, but stopped when he saw Ibis walking their way, carrying two fruits that looked like apples and with the most 'done' look on his face.
"Really?" the elf asked when he reached them.
"I mean, at least the spell works, right?" Callum grinned back, making him sign.
"Excuse me but what just happened? How did you hear that from all the way over there?" Ezran asked Ibis.
"Sky-spell!" Callum whisper-shouted, making jazz-hands.
"Right, we were practicing a spell that allows the user to whisper messages, mostly secrets. It's something that can only be heard by other sky mages. Here's your apple by the way." Ibis explained before handing the apple to Ezran.
"Hey, you got two. Is the other for me?" Callum asked.
"No." Ibis answered and pointedly took a large bite of the other apple.
"Nice." Callum dead-panned at that.
Ezran giggled at that and took a bite of his own apple.
He liked it as it was a lot sweeter and juicier than apples at home.
"So, other than that spell just now working, how's training been going?" he asked curiously.
"Very well actually. Your brother is truly talented." Ibis answered, making Callum blush.
"Although, he still has a long way to go." he added and they nodded.
"Don't worry about that! I swear to work hard and get on your level before you know it!" Callum declared determinedly.
"Hmmm. Get on my lever, you say? Oh, I don't know about that. Even if you would, it would take forever with how slow you are." Ibis smirked, his eyes holding a mischievous twinkle.
"S-Slow?!" Callum blurted.
"My dear boy," Ibis shook his head, "I've seen the way you fly."
"Hey! I literally saved Rayla after she fell off the Storm Spire!"
"But only because of adriline. Now, even a pigeon could probably keep up with you." Ibis went on, his smirk growing.
"Pigeon?! No way! I'm so fast you'd never be able to keep up with me if you tried!" Callum yelled.
"Care to proof it?" Ibis grinned challengly as he held out his arms and only then did Callum finally understand what the elf had been doing.
"You bet I am!" he grinned back, copying the other's stance.
"Manus! Pluma! Volantus!" with that both their arms had their markings light up before black and brown feathers covered said arms.
"Ready... Set..." Ibis spoke slowly.
"GO!" Callum shouted and with that they both shot into the air.
Ezran gasped as he looked up, seeing the two of them zipping back and forth through the air in what looked like them trying to catch each other, laughter carrying clearly through the air around him.
Ezran smiled to himself, glad Callum had found something he was good in enjoyed and had a good teacher for who wasn't too uptight.
