The next day, and after relieving themselves of the unknown tension between one another, Davis and Kari found themselves engaged in one of their favourite activities they would often do together.

Currently, the Digidestined of Light and of Miracles were in their Digital World and within the Primary Village, the pair were attending to the small Fresh and In-Training Level Digimon, who always seemed to lighten up upon their arrival.

From this activity, Kari had learned to help take care of the younger Digimon, thus preparing her in the hopes of following her dreams of becoming a teacher, while Davis expressed his continued support toward the Digidestined of Light, often coming up with activities to keep the small Digimon entertained.

Sitting to the side on a makeshift table and resting her head in her hands, a big smile spread across Kari's face to the sight before her, to see the baby-like Digimon show a great joy and excitement as Davis helped divide them into teams for a friendly game of soccer.

Acting as referee as their game began, Kari's smile only grew, as did the warmth within her heart.

Seeing Davis interacting with the various Digimon caused Kari to sigh contently, to see how well the Digidestined of Courage and Friendship seemed to respond toward the smaller Digimon.

And deep within her, part of Kari couldn't help but to think at the idea of how Davis would be with their own children.

Her blush growing and her smile deepening, Kari let herself daydream about a future with the Digidestined of Miracles, of them having a family together, of her coming home from teaching and to arriving as Davis came home from his noodle cart business, their children happily awaiting them.

The mental imagery caused Kari to sigh even more, her hazy eyes looking upon Davis with a further content, the brunette wishing for such a future to come true.

From his position and keeping an eye on the young Digimon, Davis, looked over briefly to the Digidestined of Light.

Seeing Kari's smile caused Davis to look on with his own warmth, believing that the Digidestined of Light was just happy to see the young Level Digimon enjoying themselves, while also happy that he could help bring that continued smile to her face.

However, the maroon haired Digidestined expressed a mental frown, knowing what was going to happen in a few days, that he would be on a flight to America and would be gone for at least a month as he toured the various culinary schools that were interested in him and his potential skills.

From there, Davis would have a month or two to decide, before he would leave Odaiba for a long time, with the possibility of being unable to see his friends, or Kari, for a long time.

While it hurt to think he wouldn't be able to see the Digidestined of Light's beautiful face after that week, Davis knew it would be for the best as he believed this opportunity would allow him the time to get over his feelings for Kari and for both of them to move on.

Returning their attention back to the Fresh and In-Level Digimon, Davis and Kari looked to the side upon hearing a pair of familiar giggles.

Looking to see a familiar sight that, though it still confused Davis and Kari, it also brought a smile to their faces, to see Veemon resting against a tree, while resting in his lap was the Digimon of Light, Gatomon, who purred and nuzzled her head against her new boyfriend and mate as they relaxed in each other's embrace.

After that wonderful, but nearly disastrous lunch together, with the Digidestined uncertain to what had happened at the end, Davis and Kari waited hours for their partners to return home, and both greatly surprised to learn that both Veemon and Gatomon had gotten together and had fallen for one another, and when questioned about how they got together so fast, Veemon at least wasn't so sure about it, his memories a blur as he remembered sitting next to Gatomon one moment and the next, the pair were going at it, a detail that left Davis blushing to Veemon's words.

And though Gatomon had the same answer for Kari's question, the details also leaving the Digidestined of Light blushing, the Digimon of Light had a pretty good idea what set her and Veemon off, and was stuck between thanking her female Digimon friends and using them as scratching posts.

As the Digidestined of Miracles and of Light, along with their partners, continued to keep their attention on the young inhabitants of Primary Village, hidden within the woods nearby, the same group from the day before, along with the addition of Ranamon, watched with a great interest as they prepared their next plan in order to get Davis and Kari together.

"Wow, I had no idea Davis was so good with children." Mimi remarked with an endearing sigh as she and the others watched Davis interact with the small Fresh and In-Training Level Digimon with a further kindness, this adding to their growing respect for the maroon haired Digidestined.

"I don't care how he is with kids, I'm more interested to see how he is between the sheets!" Airu told her friends with a sly and growing grin, her words causing Sora and the other girls to glare at the Digimon Hunter, ignoring her as they moved on with their plan.

"Ok, so what is the plan now?" Yoshi then questioned, before looking over toward Catherine and Floramon.

"We can't use that pollen stuff again, not with all the Fresh and In-Training Level Digimon around." The auburn haired DATS officer went on to say with a seriousness and concern in her tone.

"That's where little old me comes in, darlin'." Ranamon then remarked with a confident and sly smile.

Turning around and waving her hand to the wilderness, the Warrior of Water's gesture caused a rather larger than normal Golemon to then emerge from the treeline.

"This big fella is from the Ranamon fan club." She told the others, the Warrior of Water then adding with a growing slyness in her voice as she told Sora and the others. "And he's going to help us get those two lovebirds together today."

"Hi..." The Golemon just said with a wave, showing himself to be far more gentle than he looked.

"And... what exactly is your plan?" Rika found she had to ask, the Digimon Tamer not entirely sure how a behemoth Digimon such as Golemon could help Davis and Kari get together.

"It's pretty simple, really." Ranamon replied with a smirk.

"My darlin' assistant here is going to go stomp around Primary Village, making sure to avoid all the little cuties, and then make it so it seems as if Kari is in danger, forcing her sweetheart to come to her rescue as her knight in shining armour." The Warrior of Water then went on to say, this idea earning the approval of many present.

"Oh, I get it!" Palmon said as she held her hands together continued with star filled eyes. "Then Davis would save her and it would be a romantic moment for both of them!"

Although many seemed supportive of Ranamon's plan, there were a few, which included Nene, who wasn't too sure if this was a good idea herself.

"You want me to scare the little ones?" Golemon then asked with a clear concern in his voice,as he too was unsure if Ranamon's plan was as great an idea she believed.

"Just a little, but make sure not to harm anyone." Ranamon corrected as she walked up and placed a hand on Golemon's arm, giving her sweetest smile.

"Just make it look like you're going to attack that sweet little brunette over there, and when her sweetheart saves her, that's your cue to leave. No harm, no foul."

Despite blushing a little to have the cute and famous Digimon so close to him, Golemon remained with an uncertainty if Ranamon's thoughts process was not a good idea, one many in the group shared, knowing that Veemon and Gatomon were nearby, even though the Digimon of Light was also in on the plan.

"Please, Golemon." Zoe said as she then approached the rock Digimon with her own kind, caring smile, which quickly changed and turned mischievous. "If you do this, Ranamon will go on a date with you."

"Wait, wha...?!" The Warrior of Water managed to say in protest.

However, unable to refuse Zoe's added terms, Ranamon was left silent as Mervamon covered her mouth, this leaving Ranamon ranting furiously against the amazonian Digimon's hand.

To the promise provided to him, that he would get the chance to go on a date with the infamous Ranamon, Golemon remained in high spirits.

Giving a thumbs up in order to express his support to the plan, this caused many within the group to smile in response, while a few still remained with concerns and doubt, believing that this was a bad idea and events unplanned might occur.

But looking toward Golemon and seeing the rock-like Digimon approach the Primary Village, Nene and the others with doubts knew there was nothing they could do now.

With the Fresh and In-Training Level Digimon now exhausted after the soccer matches, and managing to separate Veemon from Gatomon's embrace, which proved to be harder than he had expected, the Digidestined and Digimon of Miracles helped get the small Digimon to the clearing in place for their naptime, the sight continuing to bring endearing and warm smiles to Kari and Gatomon's faces.

It was a peaceful moment, and, in the back of her mind, Gatomon prayed that the others would take notice of the mood and not try anything funny for now.

"So, ready to head home?" Davis then questioned as he held a hand out for Kari to take, while also mentally debating if he should tell Kari about his upcoming trip or not.

Smiling to herself at his kindness and nodding in reply, Kari took Davis' hand, the Digidestined of Light hoping she could work up the courage to tell her crush exactly how she felt on the way home.

Helping Kari to her feet, Davis smiled back at Kari, the brunette doing the same as the pair's eyes locked with one another for a few moments, a sight which Veemon and Gatomon noticed and hoped in silence that it would evolve into something more.

Unfortunately, the moment was then ruined by the sound of a loud and terrible roar, which was then followed by the startled cries of the Fresh and In-Training Digimon, the startled cries causing Davis, Kari and their partners to look in the direction of the sudden commotion, only to quickly move as a boulder came flying in their direction, missing the two Digidestined and their Digimon partners as it flew past the bench and into the forest depths behind them.

Though glad no one was hurt by the attack, Davis, Kari, Gatomon and Veemon looked to see a gigantic Golemon now rampaging through the Primary Village.

Smashing into several structures as he bellowed furiously, the Golemon continued to put on an act as a wild and uncontrollable menace, and, from their hiding spots within the forest, the group of Digi-heroines, alongside their partners watched on with sweatdrops as they took in the destruction Golemon was causing and how into his acting seemed to be.

"Wow… He's really going all in." Yolei remarked with nervousness as she continued to watch the rock Digimon pretend to smash and destroy everything in his path.

"What did you expect, he's motivated." Opossumon rsaid, looking at Ranamon with a mischievous smirk as she then teased. "He's going on a date with his little crush afterwards."

From Opossumon's teasing remark, Ranamon gained a tick mark on her forehead, which grew as a few of the female Digimon giggled at her, while the Warrior of Water also panicked internally as she tried to think of a way she could get out of her predicament.

Continuing in his pretend rampage, Golemon then caught sight of the two Digidestined he was told of, especially the brown haired human girl he was told to apprehend.

Jumping at her, bringing his right fist up as though to strike her down and controlling his movements, the rock Digimon expected the maroon haired Digidestined to move in front to save his dream girl, and then, after the pair cleared his path, he would slam his first into the ground, then take off running into the forest.

Looking to see where the Golemon was heading, Davis panicked as he saw that Kari was in the path of the rampaging Digimon, this causing the Digidestined of Miracles to quickly get to his feet as rushed over in order to get his crush out of harm's way and to ensure her safety.

"Kari, run for it!" Davis yelled in concern as he rushed over to save Kari, a sight that caused those watching from the forest to beam with joy in the belief that their plan was working.

However, before Davis could reach and come to Kari's aid, the maroon haired Digidestined, along with those watching, were taken by surprise when the Digidestined of Light quickly moved out of the way as Golemon's fist slammed into the ground, confusing the rock Digimon as he turned to look at the Digidestined of Light.

Upon looking at the girl, Golemon's confusion turned into a growing nervousness and worry, especially when he saw the pure rage in her eyes.

Grabbing her D-3 from out of her pocket, Kari found herself pissed off beyond anything as she glared at the rock Digimon.

She didn't care what the Golemon's problem seemed to be, he was scaring and frightening the young Digimon, and she was not going to let him get away with it.

"Gatomon!" Kari called out in anger, her D-3 glowing with a bright pink light as the Digimon of Light felt the power of Digivolution fill and consume her.

Following in Kari's example, the Digimon of Light expressed her own anger, not only toward Golemon and his destructive actions, but at those she knew were responsible for this.

Glowing with the light of Digivolution, all around could hear the Digimon of Light then declare with a great power in her voice. "Gatomon Digivolve to… Angewomon!"

The light of Digivolution fading and seeing the angelic Digimon before him, Golemon gulped lightly and stepped back.

Although afraid of the Ultimate Level Digimon and her great power, Golemon was unregretful for his decision, to help Ranamon with her plan and knowing he'd be able to spend time with the Warrior of Water.

Before the rock Digimon could explain himself, however, Angewomon rushed with a superior speed.

"Holy Kick!"

Doing a cartwheel and channelling her energy within her leg, Angewomon slammed her foot into Golemon's chin, the impact and power of the attack sending the rock Digimon flying into the air.

Keeping up in her display of power, the angelic Digimon quickly flew up and gave Golemon a secondary kick to Golemon's chest, the attack sending the rock Digimon flying off with a loud cry and disappearing into the distance.

Watching from the side and having different reactions, Davis and Veemon were taken aback to what they had seen, the Digidestined of Miracles slightly worried at Kari's temper, while also feeling some pride at how she handled the situation with such independence.

Veemon, meanwhile, found his eyes focused solely on Angewomon, his eyes filled with hearts as he took in his girlfriend and mate within her Ultimate form.

As the Digidestined and Digimon of Miracles continued to look on, expressing their continued awe and array of emotions, Kari still felt her anger growing toward Golemon, to how the rock Digimon had attempted to harm the Fresh and In-Training Level Digimon, how he went to attack her and how he ruined…

It was at that moment as a lightbulb went off in Kari's head, her face deadpanning as she mentally cried to the realization she had missed such an opportunity.

Davis was coming to save her, and if she had just controlled her own anger, she would have been in his arms in a romantic setting, and now she had missed that chance entirely.

From the forest, many of Digi-girls and their partners all deadpanned, first from the shock of how Kari reacted, before seeing the look of realization that then appeared on her face.

"Looks like she knows what could have happened." Sora remarked with a sweatdrop, stuck between disappointment that the plan had failed and pride in how Kari responded.

"We should have done this at a different location." Rika then added with her own deadpan tone, her words causing the others to agree, now realizing that Kari's protectiveness of the young Digimon overpowered any fear or doubts she had.

Looking in the direction Golemon was sent flying, Eri said with a concern in her tone. "I hope Golemon's alright."

"Yeah, his date should go check on him and take him someplace fancy." Mervamon then commented with a cheeky smile, her words causing Ranamon to panic as she realized she did have to take the rock Digimon on a date now, whether or not the plan had failed.

"But I never agreed to that!" Ranamon then yelled in frustration, the Warrior of Water's outburst causing most within the group to giggle in response.

The threat vanquished and having reverted back to her Champion Level form, Gatomon's ears twitched as her heard Ranamon's cry and the others' giggles, which caused the Digimon of Light to sigh, knowing that she'd have to do something to reel them in before they came up with any other halfcocked plans.

Unbeknownst to Gatomon, however, another individual close by had also heard the girls as well, and she was not happy to say the least.

.

.

An hour later, and once they made sure that all the baby Digimon were alright, Davis, Kari and their partners made their way to the TV monitor so that they could head home for the evening.

From his perspective, Davis knew he had to get home and start packing for his trip, while unbeknownst to him, Kari seemed to have a shared expression of determination and annoyance on her face, and it had nothing to do with the attack from Golemon.

As they approached the television monitor, however, Veemon came to a halt when Gatomon placed her paw upon his arm, silently telling the V-marked Digimon to hang back as Davis and Kari looked back at their Digimon partners with confused expressions on their faces.

"We'll meet you guys at home, Vee and I need to discuss something important." The Digimon of Light informed Davis and Kari with a smile, her reply causing the Digidestined of Miracles, and of Light as well as Veemon to look at her with curiosity.

But respecting Gatomon's wishes, and allowing her and Veemon to have their privacy, Davis and Kari nodded in reply.

Holding their D-3s out toward the monitor as they were consumed in light, the Digidestined were enveloped in light and were taken back to their world, thus leaving Veemon and Gatomon alone.

At first feeling excited and believing that his beloved wanted some "alone time" with him, Veemon's attitude changed when he saw the serious expression upon Gatomon's face, even as she took his hands and moved herself closer to him, allowing the Digimon of Miracles to know that she had something important to ask of him.

"Vee, I need you to be honest with me about something, really, really honest." Gatomon said with a serious, yet loving tone, letting her mate know that she wasn't mad at him about anything.

"Of course, Gatomon, You know I'll always be honest with you." Veemon replied reassuringly.

Although Veemon wasn't entirely sure himself what was wrong or what was on his Gatomon's mind, the Digimon of Courage and Friendship remained trusting and understanding.

"Davis… does he still have feelings for Kari?" The Digimon of Light had to ask, wanting to hear from Veemon himself the answer instead of hearing it second handedly from Ken or from Wormmon.

From the question, Veemon's eyes widened briefly as he found himself caught between being honest with the love of his life and betraying the trust of his best friend.

However, knowing he could trust Gatomon with Davis' feelings, the Digimon of Miracles sighed in defeat, before telling Gatomon in all honesty. "Davis has never lost his feelings for Kari. He loves her."

Confused, Veemon then asked. "But she only sees him as a friend, right?"

Closing her eyes and gaining a smile of her own as she then reopened them and stared into Veemon's eyes, Gatomon told the love of her life with her own honest tone. "Vee, Kari is in love with Davis, she has been since the fight with Abaddonmon."

Seeing the surprised expression upon Veemon's face, the Digimon of Light continued to smile warmly, before she continued with her explanation. "She wants to be with Davis, but Kari's afraid that he doesn't have those feelings for her anymore, and that telling him the truth would only drive him away."

"Worst now, some of the girls are trying to get them together with hairbrained schemes that only seem to be ruining things, including what happened to us yesterday and this the attack from that Golemon." Gatomon then said, which stunned Veemon even more.

Wrapping her arms around her mate, pressing herself closer to Veemon and looking into his eyes with a pleading look, the feline Digimon then pleaded. "Vee, I need your help… I am tired of seeing Kari so depressed, feeling that she will never be with Davis... Please, we need to help them get together before the others cause any more problems..."

Looking at her beloved, Gatomon hoped that he would agree to help her, to help Davis and Kari get together.

However, looking to Veemon, Gatomon found a look of panic appear upon the V marked Digimon's face.

Gulping lightly, Veemon looked back at the Digimon of Light and told her with a great concern in his tone. "Gatomon, I need to tell you something…"

Back within his apartment, Davis had several bags set upon his bed as he began packing for his trip, the maroon haired Digidestined frustrated not only by the fact that he wasn't sure what to bring for a month long trip, but also by the fact that he wasn't able to tell Kari that he was leaving soon.

Sighing in frustration, the Digidestined of Miracles was broken from his thoughts when he heard the doorbell ring.

Curious as to who would be at his door at this time of the day, Davis entered the living room and made his way to the front door, which he then opened, to reveal TK and Patamon, who held friendly smiles on their faces, the presence of the Digidestined and Digimon of Hope a pleasant surprise to Davis.

"Hey, Davis." Patamon said with a cheerful smile atop TK's head, before the Digidestined of Hope spoke.

"We just came by to see how you are doing." TK said, his consideration causing Davis to flash a small smile.

"Hey back, TK." Davis just said in reply.

Moving out of the way and allowing TK and Patamon within the apartment, Patamon jumped from off of TK's head, flapping his wings as around the living room, expressing a curiosity.

"Vee's not here right now." Davis informed, only to then give a small out a sigh as he sat upon the couch, allowing TK to take a seat on the couch himself.

For a few minutes, the Digidestined of Miracles and of Hope just talked, going into subjects such as their classes, their siblings, and eventually about TK's new relationship with Catherine, which caused the blond to laugh nervously.

But before Davis could go further, planning to tease his friend about his new girlfriend, the pair were interrupted as Patamon came out of Davis' bedroom, a puzzled expression on his face.

"Davis, why are there bags on your bed?" Patamon questioned curiously.

Mentally cursing himself for having not closed the door to his room, Davis looked to see TK looking back at him with equal curiosity and some concern within his expression.

"Ok, can you two promise not to tell anyone, at least not yet?" Davis asked, his question and the seriousness of his words getting nods from TK and Patamon, before the maroon haired Digidestined sighed and informed the pair. "I am leaving the day after tomorrow for a month long trip. I've been invited to tour several culinary schools in the United States with the promise of full admittance."

Guiding TK and Patamon back into his bedroom, turning on his computer and showing his most recent emails, who quickly looked through them, the Digidestined and Digimon of Hope shared their surprise to see some well known and major culinary schools amongst them.

"Davis, this is amazing" The Digidestined of Hope told his friend with pride within his voice, knowing that attending schools like these could help the maroon haired Digidestined fulfil his dream of owning his own noodle cart business and franchise.

However, the Digidestined and Digimon of Hope gained worried expressions as they remembered a certain brown haired girl, her feelings for the Digidestined of Courage and Friendship, as well as the group plot to get them together.

Curious, TK looked at Davis and then questioned. "Um… have you told Kari about this yet?"

Letting out a small sigh, Davis looked down and merely shook his head, giving his answer to TK as he told his friend. "No… not yet."

Deciding to be honest with TK, Davis then said, expressing his emotion. "You know, it's really hard, being in love with a girl that doesn't feel the same way. I feel like this time apart is what I need to move on."

To what he had said, TK and Patamon mentally panicked at Davis' statement, both knowing that this was not good, not good for Davis and not good for Kari.

Though both kept their worries to themselves as they continued to chat with Davis, TK and Patamon knew as soon as they left that they had to find Kari, less both she and Davis ended up living with regrets.

Around the same time and within Sora's apartment, the group of Digi-girls and their partners, alongside Tai, Agumon, Hawkmon and Dokamon, were gathered within the living room, discussing the failed attempts to get Davis and Kari together, with those who weren't present at the time greatly disapproving.

"You allowed a Golemon to run loose in the Primary Village, that was your idea?!" Tai questioned in anger, not only angered that Ranamon's scheme could have caused such damage to the Primary Village, but how a Digimon such as Golemon could've put Kari's life in danger.

"Golemon just broke down some of the structures, that's it." Zoe rsaid in defense, adding as she looked at her phone and saw the message the Warrior of Water had sent her, where the Warrior of Wind then said to the group. "Fortunately, Golemon is fine, if not a little banged up. Ranamon is taking him to get some medical treatment."

"And to dinner afterwards." Eri added with a smirk, her words causing a few to giggle, while Tai remained somewhat annoyed.

"Back on track here." Sora interrupted, looking over the room and her friends. "So, that plan failed, what other ideas do we have?"

"I say just lock them in a room together or leave them trapped in a cave." Airu suggested as if it was nothing.

Closing her eyes and relaxing in her chair, the Digimon Hunter went on to say. "I bet if we leave them alone long enough, they could have some fun together."

"That's dangerous and things could go horribly wrong!" Yoshi declared as she glared at the blonde, who glared back and questioned in retaliation. "And I suppose you have a better idea?"

After that, the room burst into loud shouting and arguing, with some of the girls trying to keep the peace, others arguing over different ideas, and Tai, the male Digimon present and Dokamon feeling a small headache approaching.

Amongst the arguments and as Jeri tried to remain rational, to keep the calm amongst her friends, Jeri's eyes widened as she heard the sound of a Digi-port opening within Sora's bedroom, the sound causing the brunette to turn and look down the hallway, where she let out a startled cry of shock.

Hearing Jeri's panic filled cry, the room became quiet as everyone turned to look at what had startled her, only for their own eyes to widen in fear to see Kari Kamiya standing in the hallway, her stance hostile and pure rage in her eyes as she glared at at everyone ahead of her.
