Disclaimer: Still don't own InuYasha, still wish InuSan had been the thing. They were perfect for each other. Still looking for more stories about them. Still doing it myself.

I am starting this chapter just after I posted the previous chapter because I want to get another one out before I start my new job.

Chapter 7 – Weapons, Demons, and Consequences

The trio of humanoids had finished laughing and Sango was now holding Kirara and petting her sore belly with her hand. She had always found it odd that the cat could become so full in her normal form but the discomfort didn't ever seem to go away when she changed to her big form. She just continued to hold her old friend as her mate started heading towards the cave that served as the demon smith's workshop.

"Hey Toutousai," he said as he entered the shop. Just as he walked in the smith threw his hammer to the ground and held a large tower shield in his hands.

"All done!" he exclaimed as he held it giving it a thorough inspection. Satisfied, he approached InuYasha and strapped the shield to his arm. "There we are. Pull it out." He motioned the hilt of a blade that stuck out of the top of the shield.

Grabbing the hilt, he recognized both the look and feel of the hilt in his hand. Drawing the blade, he saw the thin katana blade that was attached transform into the giant and heavy blade he recognized. It had been thinned down and shorted a little to effectively be wielded in one hand, but the power coursing through it felt the same as it ever had. He felt like he was welcoming back an old friend. "Tessaiga?" he said in wonder as he felt no pain from the blade in his hand.

"Yep, I reforged it for you and removed the locking mechanism that prevented you from using it. It will now let you use it, because it has your fang in it," the old smith said with a glint in his eye. "I also decided to make it a little lighter and I was able to use what I removed mixed with some of your friend's fang to make the shield for you. Now you can use the blade to slay the enemies that would harm those you care about and use the shield to protect those you love from the harm others wish to give them. It has all of the same abilities as the previous iteration as well so don't worry about that."

InuYasha sheathed the blade and bowed lowly to the old demon. "Thank you, Toutousai," he said before looking the old demon in the eye again. "You have done me a great service and I don't know how I could ever repay you."

"Well, I do have one idea." The old demon looked at the former hanyou with the same glint. "Your mate is a taijiya, correct?"

"Yeah."

"I assume that it is not going to just be the three of you at her village, correct?"

"Yeah, it will be 8 of us at first, then we are going to try and get some new recruits and rebuild the taijiya."

"I want to move to your village so I can make the weapons for the taijiya."

"Really?" InuYasha asked, stunned that this was the request. "I mean, we would be happy to have you, but why?"

"I have been here for almost a millennium and at this point all I make are farming tools. In that last three days, I have worked on three weapons and a shield and it has rekindled my passion for the craft. To see the appreciation on you and your friends' faces, it brings me the joy I used to feel when I had all the daiyoukai coming to me to make them weapons of amazing power."

"I understand, as I said, we would be happy to have you. Do you want to travel with us or do you want to make your own way there?"

"I have a couple more farming tool orders to finish up, then I will make my way with Momo."

"Alright, we will hopefully be there when you arrive. Thank you again, Toutousai." InuYasha turned from the cave and put his new shield on the back of the wagon.

"What is that?" Sango asked her mate as he placed it gently in. He looked at her with a grin before drawing the blade, turning on his heel and facing the trees she had been using to practice. Holding the sword in one hand he found what he was looking for. With loud yell, he swung the blade and said, "Kaze no Kizu!" A streak of energy rushed from the blade and blew all of the trees around him away.

"Is that Tessaiga?" Sango asked rushing to his side, her eyes glued to the very familiar blade.

"Yeah, apparently Toutousai was the one who grabbed it and he made some modifications. He made it usable in one hand, he added a shield, and he removed the lock that prevented me from using it," he replied, returning the blade to sheath in the shield. "So, Senshi, I am sorry for any ill will I felt towards you, even if it was for only a moment. You throwing it out of the wagon turned out to be for the best."

Senshi looked at her friend and her smile was almost blinding. Even though InuYasha had said he forgave her, she ha still felt horrible for losing the blade. The fact that he now had it back and he could even use it, that was almost the greatest news she could ask for. There was only one thing that could make her happier.

"Also," InuYasha said as he and Senshi started the wagon moving. "Toutousai has decided to move to the village and is going to be our village blacksmith."

Sango looked at her mate in shock and then followed after him quickly. "He is moving to the village? Really?"

"Yep, he said he had a few orders to finish up then he would come to us."

"That is amazing, that will really help with recruitment. I don't know if you knew, but after Naraku died he became more well known when it became known that he had made the blade that destroyed him."

"I did not know that." He flashed her a grin over his shoulder as they kept moving toward the temple. He was glad that she was so excited, because while he was the demon, he had decided that she was the chief and he didn't think to make sure she was ok with the old demon moving to the village.

It had taken the better part of the day for the group to make it to Mushin's temple. InuYasha and Senshi had relinquished the wagon to Sango and, the now better, Kirara and they were making pretty good time. As they approached, the air around them began to feel cold. A moment later, as they came over the rise leading to the temple, InuYasha and Sango felt a sense of déjà vu as they saw a large, pale blue female demon surrounded by a pair of oumukade. The female demon was levitating in the air and was surrounded by a mist as she sent bursts of frost at her adversaries. One of the centipedes froze in place and shattered, the mess of its body joining other mess already on the ground. This battle was obviously not just starting.

The demon flew into the air for a moment before bringing her hand to her face and blowing out. Her breath froze on contact and a rain of icicles pelted the centipede before her. The centipede dropped to the ground and the female demon froze it, causing it to shatter and then she created a wind before her to gather the mess before laying it all into a pile next to the tree that Miroku had been thrown into a few days prior.

As the group approached the temple, the female demon landed on the ground and began to shrink. The air began to warm up around them. The wispy clothes that had covered the demon reformed into miko garb and, after a moment, Shimo stood before them. "Welcome back, my friends," she said with a grin as she embraced Sango, then InuYasha. "It is very good to see you safe."

InuYasha smiled at his friend as they started heading back inside. He could smell a difference in her. Something had happened and it had taken the somewhat cold demeanor and changed it to a warm one instead. Based on the scent, he had a feeling he knew what it was. "So, how's the patient now, doc? Up for travel?" he asked once they reached Miroku's room.

All of the shelves were barren and a few bundles had been gathered together and rested on the floor. "Good as new," the monk responded as he rose from his bed. He was wearing his usual robes as he approached them, holding his shakujou. "My dear Shimo made sure I was back to my full self before she would let me out of bed for anything other than a soak to help with my pain." The Monk looked from his old friend to the demon priestess beside him and gave her a look that InuYasha knew very well, considering he gave it to his mate on a regular basis.

"Obviously something happened, but I'm not gonna pry. I'm happy for you both." With a quick smile at his friends, he grabbed the bundles from the ground and started heading toward the wagon. Sango had walked past him and he assumed she was giving the new couple a hug as he left. He knew he could trust the monk now, even if he hadn't threatened him the last time they met. It made sense, he knew that elemental demons usually found mates in beings that represented their opposites and while Miroku had been cursed by the wind tunnel, his loyalty and passion had always made InuYasha see him as representing fire more.

He unloaded the bundles into the wagon and started getting a little concerned. He had Senshi's belongings and the few of his that they had taken from Sesshoumaru's palace. Adding Miroku's and then Shippou's, he wasn't sure if they would have enough room for Jinenji's and he didn't want the hanyou to think that they were not leaving him space due to his race. He knew the sort of thoughts that went through the mind of hanyous intimately, he knew that a lot of his hostility had come from a fear of not being accepted. When he made his wish, that fear went away, so naturally the hostility melted away too.

I'll offer to carry some of his stuff for him if there isn't enough room. At least then he'll know that there is no animosity meant by it, he thought to himself as he went back inside to gather Shippou's belongings. As he entered, he passed Senshi, with Sango hot on her heels, and she rolled her good eye. "There are still three more bundles for the little runt," she said as she took the four that she held to the wagon. Sango was carrying four of her own as well. Shaking his head, InuYasha grabbed the last three and headed back to the wagon.

Once everything was loaded and packed snuggly, InuYasha took in the wagon and shook his head. There was gonna be no way to get any of Jinenji's stuff on this wagon. The three made their way back inside to see Miroku standing in the temple's main area with Mushin and another monk. This was the first time that InuYasha had seen anyone other than Miroku or Shippou that had been staying there. "Hey Mushin, where have you been?" he asked the old monk.

"I have been with Hiroshi here trying to fix the demon repelling barrier around the temple," the old monk said as he looked at the demon before him. "We just got it fixed so there should be no more issues and we should be all good for Miroku and Shimo-san to leave. It took us almost week to figure out what was causing the issue and to get it fixed, but Shimo-san made sure we were fed and taken care of in the meantime."

"I'm glad it's fixed and you won't have any more worries. Its means we can head out in the morning and not worry about your safety," Miroku said looking at his master. The old man had been like a father to him since his own father had died before his eyes, and knowing that he would be safe was reassuring. He looked to his travel companions and said, "I figured it would be best for us to stay the night here, that way we can be fresh and ready to go in the morning."

InuYasha looked to his mate for her opinion and when she nodded, he agreed as well. He needed to keep reminding himself that while he was the male, he had decided that she was in charge as the more experienced at the techniques of demon slaying. He took his mate in his arms and decided that if they were going to rest for the night, now would be the time to have a talk. "Come with me, Koibito," he said softly in her ear as he released his hold on her.

She looked to him and smiled as she placed her hand in his. He led her outside, back to the tree he had been in when she had found him a few days prior. He sat down on the ground, pulling her gently into his lap as he did so. Once she was snuggled up against him, she looked into his face and asked, "What is it, Inu-kun?"

Looking back at her, he gave her a loving smile and then started nuzzling her neck. He took in her scent as he did so and felt his body react. He pushed down his lust before saying, "There is something important that I wanted to discuss with you." He stopped his nuzzling and saw the concern in her face as he felt it in his heart, he pushed his love for her into their bond to make sure she knew all was well. "As you know, when a male demon takes a mate, they generally take full control of their lives. Where they live, what they do, when they have children, all of those sorts of things." At her nod he continued.

"I have decided that is not how things will be for us. As a couple, I want us to be full and equal partners, however, as part of the village, you are the trained taijiya. I have no place trying to lead our village, you are the one that should be the chief, I will be your mate and husband. If you decide that you need an ear to listen, I will provide it. If you need counsel, I will provide it. If you need comfort, I will provide it. I will be there for you, whatever you need, but you will be the one to make the final decision. If YOU decide to give me some voice, I will speak on your behalf as you see fit, but I will speak to you after and amend my statement if I was wrong."

Sango looked at her mate and knew that this was some of the human brain still in his head. Most demons followed custom by instinct. The fact that he was denying it, meant that this was not a part of his demon brain. I wonder if he realizes that even as a full-blooded demon, that human part of his brain is still in there making suggestions. Shaking her head slightly at her thoughts, she gazed into the golden eyes that she had fallen in love with and smiled brightly. "If that is truly what you want, then I will accept the concessions that you offer, Inu-kun," she responded, reaching her hand up to stroke his cheek before he captured her lips with his.

"What do you say we go have some fun?" he asked with a steamy look in his eyes as he pulled away slightly. The smile was back on her face and she nodded enthusiastically. The demon gave a howl as he grabbed his mate in his arms and ran at full speed back to the room they had shared when they were there before. He loved his mate so much.

InuYasha stopped as soon as he entered their room. He set Sango's feet on the floor and supported her back until she was standing on her own feet. Once she was, he wrapped his other arm around her and pulled her in for a deep passionate kiss, making sure that she could feel every ounce of love he felt for her. She opened her mouth without prompting and their tongues began to battle for dominance.

After a moment, Sango's hands went to InuYasha's haori and she pushed it and his white undershirt off his shoulders, the only thing holding it up was InuYasha's grip on her waist. Her hands roamed his chiseled chest as he unfastened her slayer suit quickly. She had not bothered to actually wear her traveling kimono once in their travels, and he was very grateful for that fact. He began lowering the suit and as it reached her hips; she pulled her hands from his chest to remove her arms from the sleeves. As she removed her hands, he dropped his haori to floor and quickly slashed the bindings on her breasts, releasing them from their prison.

Breaking the kiss for a moment, gasping for much needed air, the two stared into each other's eyes and removed their own clothing from their lower halves. Once they stood naked before each other, they embraced again and the kiss started again with a new passion. They had been together many times at this point, but each time felt better than the last and both knew they would never tire of the other's touch and love.

InuYasha picked Sango up bridal style once more, his lips never leaving hers, and he carried her to the bed in the middle of the room. Leaning forward to gently place her on the bed, he broke the kiss and started kissing down her body. He started on her jaw before slowly moving further. First, to her shoulder. Then, to her breast. Followed by her stomach. Finally, he licked his way from her stomach to her core.

Taking in the scent, he was overcome with a need to take her and spill his seed into her. Putting that need to the side, he thrust his tongue into her core and started lapping up her juices. As he found the mound that he knew would bring his mate such joy, he started swirling his tongue around it. Sango was panting like a bitch in heat as he played with his favorite toy and InuYasha couldn't help but smile. He loved those noises so much.

He started sucking on the bundle of nerves and she started screaming his name. InuYasha knew that if anyone had chosen any of the rooms even remotely close to theirs, they were getting quite the earful, but he didn't care. He was making his mate happy and that was all that mattered to him. A sudden deluge of her juices and an extra loud scream of his name told InuYasha that his mate had reached her climax and, after licking up all that he could, he pulled his face away from her core.

Moving up so his face was next to hers, her breathing was slowly starting to even out. She had a look of lust in her eyes as she stared into his. With a mischievous grin, she grabbed his erect member and pumped it a few times. She could feel it twitch in her hand as she did so. Quickly positioning at her entrance, she thrust her hips into his. He filled her the tightness he had experienced on many occasions now came just as strongly as it had the first time he entered her.

Inhaling her scent, InuYasha detected something odd but not unwelcome, but he was unable to place what it was. Slowly, he began pumping into her and he almost felt like his inner demon blood was taking control like it used to when he was in danger and had lost Tessaiga. A feral feeling came over him as he pumped harder and faster than he had in the past, feeling a desperate need to fill her with his seed. After holding himself back for a few minutes, he felt her walls tighten around him and he could no long hold back his climax.

As he felt himself stop releasing into her, he could already feel himself getting ready to go again. He looked at his mate and could feel her heart tell him she was too. So, they continued. It went on for another hour before both were spent, the scent he had picked up never once left his mate, if anything it became stronger. InuYasha was holding Sango to his chest, with arms wrapped around her. He looked at her tired eyes and smiled at her, choosing to ignore the scent. "I love you, Koibito,"

She looked at him with a sleepy smile of her own and buried her head into his shoulder. "I love you too, Inu-kun." With that the two drifted off to sleep with InuYasha not noticing the moment that scent subtly changed.

Senshi sat on the floor of the room she had chosen the previous night in contemplation. She could smell the joining that had taken place between the monk and the ice demon that she met the previous day, and, based on InuYasha's statement and Sango's response, they had not been joined prior to their departure. As Sango was congratulating the two, the ice demon had mentioned something about a dream she had prior to meeting the monk and that is what made her sit in thought now.

That sort of dream meant that you were destined to be together even if you were not destined mates, she couldn't help but chuckle at the term. It was a common mistake based on the name; it really should be more like truly forever mates but it wasn't as catchy of a term she supposed. But that was neither here nor there, what had her thinking was the strangeness of having three pairs of mates that were destined for each other in a single group. One pair was uncommon enough as it was, but to have three was unheard of. We must have some kind of destiny to fulfill. I just hope that there is no cost to fulfilling it. With that thought, she decided she had thought about it enough and rose from the floor of her room. There had been mention of a hot spring, perhaps a dip would do her some good.

She reached the spring and found she wasn't the only one with that idea. She found InuYasha sitting in the spring with Sango in his lap. He was nipping hat her mating mark with his fangs and she was doing the same to him, neither seemed to notice her arrival. She quietly stripped down and entered the spring. She sat on one of the large rocks that had been placed in the spring as a seat and leaned back against the wall, closing her good eye as she took in the warmth of the soothing waters.

It took a few minutes before the lovers on the other side of the spring noticed they were no longer alone. InuYasha had been so engrossed by the taste of his mate's skin and her powerful scent, with that strange bet very welcome new note, that he had been completely dulling out the rest of the world. It was only when he heard a faint humming from the other side of the spring that his eyes opened. He removed his mouth from Sango's neck and looked toward the noise.

Seeing his friend sitting there is contentment brought him back to the real world, and, after a moment, Sango joined him. "Good morning, Senshi-chan," InuYasha said as his mate turned and settled the back of her head into his shoulder.

"I hope you slept well, Senshi-chan," Sango said smiling at her new friend. They had only known each other a few days, but she had felt a strong bond was forming between them already. So strong, she didn't care that she was sitting naked, other than the bandana covering her injured eye, in the spring with InuYasha and her.

"Well enough," she said opening her eye, both of her friends could see a mischievous glint there. "Although, I'm sure I didn't sleep as well as you two. Strenuous activity is always a good way to wear you out before bed."

A blush quickly found its way to Sango's cheeks, but she just felt InuYasha's arms round her waist tighten. He had made it very clear to her during their love making, he found nothing embarrassing in their love. She could make as much noise as she wanted and it would just make him feel prouder for having made her make those noises. "We didn't disturb you, did we?"

"Not at all, San-chan," Senshi said with a slight chuckle. She was almost as fun to poke as InuYasha.

"Alright, we best get ready to head out, Koibito," InuYasha said as he turned his mate so he could lift her bridal style. He said they would be equal partners, but that didn't mean he didn't like taking care of her if he could. "See you in a bit, Senshi-chan." With that final bid, InuYasha rushed off in a blur to their room. Even if there had been someone in the halls, no one would have seen a thing. Senshi just shook her head and laughed at her friend's antics. She also noticed something new to her new friend's scent. Oh, this will be interesting.

XxXxXxXxX

The group of seven, which now included three adult demons, two humans, a kitsune, and a Nekomata, gathered at the entrance of the temple as they prepared to leave for home, the Taijiya Village. Miroku and Shimo stood before Mushin and all three of them were in a low bow of farewell. InuYasha stood at the back of the group, his arms wrapped around his mate's waist, holding her close to him. That new note to her scent just made him want to be with her constantly, not that he minded.

The group left the temple and prepared to depart. InuYasha and Senshi approached the wagon and each took one of the tongues in their hands. As InuYasha was beginning to move, Senshi gave him an odd look before turning to Sango. "San-chan, why don't you hop on the driver's seat with Shippou?" she suggested before they took off.

"I'm fine," she replied, the confusion in her voice was obvious. She was fine with her walking yesterday, heck she even helped pull the wagon. Why was she suggesting this now?

Senshi looked back to InuYasha, expecting him to argue with his mate, but he was looking at her just as confused. Does he not realize what that scent on her is? She asked herself. "Inu-chan, can I speak with you over here for a moment? Alone?" she asked, gesturing to a tree that was nearby but outside of Sango's enhanced hearing.

InuYasha nodded and the two demons walked toward the tree. Once they arrived, InuYasha gave her the same confused look. "What's up Senshi-chan?" he asked looking back at his mate. He didn't want her out of his sight for a moment.

"Do you not realize what that change to her scent is?" Senshi asked her friend, not really understanding how he couldn't. Any feral demon could tell what it was. Maybe it's just because he hasn't been around people enough. At her friend's shake of his head, still not looking away from Sango, she sighed in exasperation. Guess I get to explain to to him. "Inu-chan, you're gonna be a dad." His eyes finally left his mate at her words and a look of shock came over his face. Senshi was about to ask if he was ok when she saw his eyes roll back in his head and he collapsed on the ground.

- Well, that did not go how I planned it.
First- I hadn't planned on writing a new lemon but there it is and I hope it is better than the first.
B- I hadn't intended for her to get pregnant until they had been mated for a year, but it just kinda felt right. All of the alluded to mating moments had to lead to it eventually and I feel like it would have been sooner rather than later.
3- The entire journey back was supposed to be a single chapter but I kept adding more to it.

Anyway, see you next time.
