After careful consideration and perfect planning the Jones-Evans parents decided it was best that Iris visits Matt her competition was completely over, they didn't know what Matt was going to say and they didn't want her to be thrown off for her events. She had placed third on the balance beam and uneven bars, and she had placed first in her floor routine, and to say Sam was happy was an understatement. He was practically bouncing up and down in his chair as she competed, he was proud of her, and it warmed his heart when she finished the routine that she did their special peace sign to him. He loved her so much and he didn't know what he would ever do without her.

"Are you sure you don't want to go and party and then come visit him tomorrow you have been up and running since four a.m. and it's one o clock in the afternoon," Mercedes tried as she sat in the taxi with her husband and daughter?

"Momma, I promise I am fine, listen I want to get this over with now so when we head back to Oregon, I can close the box on this once and for all," Iris explained.

"We can always just send him a postcard," Sam chimed in.

"Yeah, we could, but I need to hear his words, and then I can finally grapple with why he decided to put a five-year-old through so much pain and drama," Iris stated matter-of-factly.

"Sure, but are you sure you don't want me and Sam to go in there with you?" Mercedes tried.

"You guys I am fine I promise, I got this." Iris insisted.

When they arrived at the prison Iris felt her confidence falter at the fact of how massive and dingy the place was. It was dark, and the men kept ogling at her mother which made her father grip their hands tighter. As she walked to the guard and logged in for her appointment she felt herself getting slightly unnerved. She couldn't believe this, she didn't have any happy memories with Matt. Her mother left when she was two and she never remembered a thing before then, and then everything after that was just depressing. She let her mind wander as they patted her down and then they directed her into the small room.

"There is a button on the bottom of the table, if you feel threatened or frightened just press it and I will be there quickly and get you out as safely and securely as possible. Ok." The cop explained to her. Iris nodded her head and took her seat, and a few moments passed before her father walked in. The man she used to be terrified of when she was five still had the same threatening height, but instead of a bare face he had a thick beard, and his hair was slicked back in a ponytail. His arms were covered in prison tattoos, and he had a scar under his right eye.

"Y-you came," Matt grumbled as he looked at her.

"I said I would think about it to come and hear what you have to say," Iris answered.

"I know, but I didn't think you would come, as you can imagine I don't get any visitors, hell I haven't even seen your mother since we all got arrested."

"Did you love her, I mean really? Did you ever actually love her?"

Matt sighed and placed his balled fists on the table, "Skip right to the nitty gritty. I love the thought of your mother, I have never stopped, to have her, and to be with her I took for granted. I was no good to her or you, and I regret it because if I had just tried then maybe things would have turned out differently."

"Then why didn't you," Iris asked, "At least try for my sake?"

"I wanted your grandfather's admiration so damn bad, I turned into him, and became an asshole, and hurt you and her in the process, and then I just became that asshole after you both left when you were two. I worked closely with her parents and they helped morphed me into the monster that I am."

"I thought you would have changed."

"It's too late to change."

"What about when you and my grandmother came for the first time? I remember her damn-near breaking my hand, I remember seeing you at the playground at my school for one second, and then you being gone the next, and I remember when you took me from school and forced me in the back of the car, and punched me, and duct-taped my mouth. I remember when you sent that picture to my mom, I remember when she came and you punched her, and she fell on the ground I was scared. I thought she was going to die, I used to have nightmares over and over again. Why?"

"Iris, I was doing what I thought was right,"

"So punching your child and her mother and nearly breaking her arm is what is right?"

"It isn't something I am proud of, hell if the guys in here knew what happened I would be a dead man, but you have to understand I was trying to gain admittance from people who could have cared less. It never crossed my mind that I was going to be hurting you or Mercedes in the process, because I didn't care, you guys never mattered to me in that time period."

"What about Sheila?" Iris stated as she made direct eye contact with him and she saw him look audibly confused.

"I thought Mercedes never told you," Matt sighed.

"She never did, but I wasn't that stupid, and I would sneak around. I remember it being brought up at times, you cheated on mom with her."

"Your point."

"You claim to love us and regret everything but do you regret her?"

"I regret nothing with her because I love her, we are actually married, she came in here two months ago, and we reconnected and got married. She actually convinced me to get in touch with you."

"So none of this was of your own free will?"

"No."

"Fuck you, fuck your lies, fuck your truth, fuck you as a human being. You have never ever been anything to me, you are dead to me, don't send me another piece of fucking mail. You never changed you just got better at acting sincere. You don't regret anything, everything you ever did you are proud of, and I hope someone comes and here kills you because I don't need you. You are not my father and you never will be. Go to hell Matt." Iris hissed out as she jammed the button and when the door opened she rushed out of the room and went and found her parents and instantly enveloped her true father into a great big hug.

"Did he hurt you, I'll kill him if he did," Sam whispered fiercely.

"No, do you think maybe we could head to your parents soon, I need to get away and get a reset."

"Whatever you want Ris, I'll move the moon and more for you," Sam assured her.
