Twelve weeks have passed since Timothy's death. Davina was doing slightly better. She still didn't trust Marcel again yet let alone Nik or Elijah. I could approach her but I still kept my distance. Cora, Josh, and Cami were really the only ones that she'd let get close to her.

During the twelve weeks, Elijah discovered Davina's drawings one day. They were pictures she made whenever she saw the witches performing magic. Elijah pieced them together and discovered it made a picture of a witch he had a thing for two hundred years ago. He said her name was Celeste Dubois. Elijah has been looking into it for weeks and trying to figure out what it means.

Speaking of the witches, they've been radio silent. No activity coming from them at all. I doubt they've given up. My bet is they're waiting on something and who knows whatever that is.

I currently sat in the armchair of the study that Nik and Elijah had been using. At this point, I'm twenty weeks along and I'm definitely showing now. It's a point that I'm starting to struggle to see my toes let alone put my shoes on. Thank god for slip ons.

"The Italians call them strega. The Yoruba of West Africa call them aje, meaning mother. Where our mother is from, they called him haxa and here we call them witch. Over the centuries, vampires have fought them and fought beside them, bedded them and burned them. Whether adversary or ally, they have been a force to be reckoned with. Their ancestral magic anchors this city. There's never been one all-powerful witch until Davina." Elijah stated.

I watched as he paced around the study. Nik was at the desk with his feet propped up on the desk. "Said witch is tucked in safe upstairs with our protection. Your Celeste was quite beautiful and a portent of evil, according to our volatile artist in residence." Nik stated.

"Yes. Perhaps Davina's mistaken what she calls evil for power. Celeste was certainly very powerful in her day, but she's been dead for over two hundred years. I don't understand. Why all these sketches now?" Elijah asked.

"Why does any witch do anything?" Nik retorted.

"Nothing has happened for weeks now. The witches have been extremely quiet lately. I don't like that for a second." I stated.

"Yes, that is troubling as well." Elijah agreed.

I heard muffled crushing sounds coming from upstairs. The three of us looked up. Davina's bedroom was right above us. I could hear muffled voices of Davina and Marcel.

"They're at it again." I said with a sigh.

"The little witch is certainly making it difficult for Marcel to earn back her trust." Nik commented.

"Well he wasn't entirely forthcoming with Davina. It's to be expected." I heard another crashing sound.

"That's it. I'm breaking it up. Again." I said. I started to push myself up with my arms. Nik was instantly in front of me and aided me in standing up.

"Are you really going to do this every time I try to stand up? I'm pregnant, not disabled." I fired at Nik.

"Sorry, love. I'm not chancing you falling. Your center of gravity is changing. Remember what happened last week?" I let out a huff. He's really going to hold that over my head.

"I tripped. My ankles are bigger and I can't really see my feet anymore. Besides, I haven't done that since then." I argued.

Nik shook his head, "Again, love. I'm not chancing it." I huffed and walked out of the study.

I walked up the stairs and Nik was right behind me. I turned the corner when I heard something weird. I stopped hearing the sound of someone throwing up.

"Davina? Davina!" Nik and I hurried over and I stopped in my tracks seeing Davina throwing up dirt on her bed. Marcel and Cora were by her side. Both freaking out about what was happening.

"Bloody hell." Nik muttered.

That's when the ground beneath us began to shake. Nik immediately grabbed me to brace me. The shaking lasted for a few seconds before stopping.

"What the hell was that?!" I could hear Rebekah yell from the courtyard.

Nik and I walked over to the banister, "I think it's coming from Davina." I answered. Rebekah looked at me in bewilderment.

"This is madness. How can a sixteen year old girl shake the entire French Quarter?" Nik questioned. All of us except for Cora, who was still with Davina, were in the living room.

"I've seen her rock the church, but I've never seen anything like this." Marcel stated.

"How did you control her when she was in the attic?" Nik asked.

"I didn't have to. But then again, her boyfriend was alive then." Marcel retorted.

"Well somethings wrong with her." Nik argued.

"It's her power. It's been building and building this whole time. She already had difficulty controlling it twelve weeks ago. It's getting worse." I stated.

"Then why has it gotten so aggressive all of a sudden? She was throwing up dirt not even ten minutes ago." Derek asked.

Elijah suddenly bolted for the door, "Where are you going?" Rebekah called out.

"This is witch business. Let's ask a witch." Elijah said.

Rebekah huffed, "Wait for us." She said as her and Derek followed Elijah.

"I'm going to check on Davina." Marcel said and left as well. Leaving just Nik and I in the living room.

"This is just getting more complicated." I said with a sigh. I leaned against the arm of the couch.

"Young, old, dead, or alive, witches are a pain in the ass." Nik said with a shake of his head.

I let out a chuckle until I felt a sudden sensation come from my stomach that made me pause. I instinctually placed a hand on my stomach.

"Allye?" Nik asked in alarm. He came over to me. My brain was trying to register what just happened.

"Allye, say something. Is everything okay?" Nik asked worriedly.

I looked at Nik and a grin broke out on my face. I know what that was.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Nik." Nik looked at me in confusion, "She just kicked."

Nik looked taken aback, "She did?" I gave a small laugh and nodded.

"That surprised me more than anything. Here." I took Nik's hand and placed it on my pregnant belly.

I placed his hand where I felt the sensation earlier. We both waited in anticipation until I felt the sensation again. Nik let out a small gasp and almost recoiled his hand back at the sudden feeling.

"You feel that?" Nik looked at me and a grin broke out on his face. He let out a breathy chuckle.

"Yes. That's incredible." Nik put a hand under my chin and pulled me in for a kiss.

We broke the kiss and Nik gingerly placed his hand back on my stomach. "Not much longer now." He commented.

"She'll be here before we know it. While we wait for Elijah and the others to come back. I need some food. I think that was Thalia's way of telling me she wants food." Nik chuckled and led me by placing a hand on the small of my back.

"Whatever my girls need." I rolled my eyes at his cheesy line.

I leaned against the desk of the study with Nik sitting on the office chair. Elijah, Rebekah, and Derek were back and they brought Sophie with them.

Sophie just explained to us what the witches were up to the past twelve weeks. They were looking for the burial site of a powerful witch. Can you guess who? None other than Celeste Dubois herself. Elijah is not very happy. Celeste had apparently made Elijah promise her to bury away from the cemetery so her bones could never be concentrated.

"So you have stolen the remains of the very person that Davina's been drawing for months. Would you care to explain this startling coincidence?" Elijah demanded.

"I can't. I only found out about Celeste just three months ago. I had been searching for her grave since. I just found it yesterday. I was told abo-" Sophie was interrupted by another earthquake. I gripped the desk behind me to stable me. I didn't miss Nik standing up quickly and kept a sharp eye on me. Ready to grab me if necessary.

The earthquake stopped and I let go of my grip on the desk. "Was that Davina?" Sophie asked us.

"Charming little habit she's developed." Nik stated and leaned forward on the desk.

"And the earthquake I felt earlier today?" Sophie asked.

"Also Davina. She's taken to vomiting dirt as well." Rebekah replied.

Sophie looked at us in alarm, "Oh. We have a huge problem. I thought we had more time, but we need to complete the Harvest now." I raised an eyebrow at that.

"Well isn't that convenient." Derek scoffed and glared at Sophie.

"You really think we're going to believe you? You're desperate." I added.

"I'm serious! That earthquake you felt is a preview of the disaster movie that is about to hit us." Sophie warned us.

"Give us one good reason why we should believe you?" Elijah asked.

Sophie looked around at all of us, "You've met Davina, you know her story. For months now, she's been holding all the power of the three girls sacrificed in the Harvest ritual. A force that was meant to flow through her and back into the earth. One person was never meant to hold that much power. It's tearing her apart, and it will take us down with it." Sophie stated. Looks like I was right about the power growing to be too much for Davina to control anymore.

"Okay. We believe you. You said this was just the start. What's coming next?" I asked.

I knocked on Davina's bedroom door. Rebekah was behind me. Sophie had just debriefed us all of what's to come. Nik and Derek went to warn Father Kieran and get the church ready to house refugees for the coming storm. Sophie and Elijah were downstairs explaining everything to Marcel. Rebekah and I thought it'd be best Davina heard everything from the two of us.

Cora opened the door, "Hey Al, Bekah." Cora greeted us.

"Can we come in? We need to talk to Davina." I asked.

"Let them in, Cora." I heard Davina's voice. Cora opened the door and the two of us walked into the room. The white sheets had stained from the dirt she had thrown up before.

"We know what's going on with you." I stated. Davina looked at us in alarm.

"You do? How?" She asked.

"We talked to Sophie, well more like made her tell us." Rebekah started.

"We're believing Sophie now?" Cora asked as she walked to my side.

"Just hear us out. Sophie said that all the power you have is just going to continue to grow. It was already strong enough three months ago to the point you had difficulty controlling it. It's gotten worse. One witch was never meant to hold this much power in them. So much that it will tear you apart." I said.

"The earthquakes and you throwing up dirt is only the first stage." Rebekah added.

"Wait? Only first?" Cora said in disbelief.

"It goes in order of the four elements that bound together the Harvest. Wind is next and Sophie said that each stage is more intense than the last. Let's just say you'll blow the roof off this place." I stated.

"Then after the wind is water. Heavy rains, flooding, storms, anything associated with water." Rebekah said.

"Imagine Katrina but ten times worse." Davina's eyes visibly widened at that.

"Then the final stage, fire. That's the last and worst stage. New Orleans will burn to the ground." Rebekah finished.

"How do we stop this then?" Cora asked. Rebekah and I gave each other solemn glances.

"They want to complete the Harvest." Davina started to panic.

"No!" She shouted.

"Davina, hey! Hey!" I walked over to her and grabbed her hands, "No one is making you do anything that you don't want to do. Okay? We're not completely convinced yet by what Sophie is saying. She told us you'd be resurrected." Davina shook her head with tears falling down.

"They're liars! They'll say anything to get what they want. Just like Marcel!" Davina argued. The shutters to the windows began to slam open and close from the strong wind. You could hear the roof begin to rattle. The second stage is here. Wind.

"Davina, you need to calm down. Sophie said the more worked up you get the faster you deteriorate. You need to stay calm, okay? Can you do that?" I asked gently and rubbed her forearm to try and comfort her.

Davina held back a sob and nodded her head, "I'm scared, Allye. I don't want to die." I sat down on the edge of the bed next to her. I pulled her to me and held her as she cried.

"I know. It's okay to be scared. We're going to keep you alive, Davina. We'll do everything we can." I soothed her.

Davina let out a sniffle and relaxed into the hug. The sounds of the high wind disappeared now that Davina was calm. I looked over at Rebekah and Cora.

"It worked. The wind stopped." Rebekah said.

"So we need to keep her calm then." Cora concluded.

Rebekah looked behind her, "I hear Nik and Derek. They're back. We all need to talk." I went to get up but Davina tighten her hold.

"No. Don't leave me alone. Please." I looked down at Davina. Her blue eyes red from crying.

I let out a sigh, "You guys go. I'll stay with Davina." Rebekah and Cora looked at each other before looking back to me.

"Okay. We'll check on you guys from time to time." I nodded and the two left the room and closed the door behind them.

"I'm sorry, Allye. For everything." I rested my chin on top of her head and rubbed her arm.

"You have nothing to apologize for, Davina. Why don't you try to get some sleep?" I advised.

I felt Davina nod her head, "Okay. You won't leave, right?" She asked.

"I promise that I will be right here when you wake back up." I promised her.

Davina pulled away from the hug and rubbed her eyes. She sniffled and looked at me, "I've always been an only child. Cora told me you're a good older sister to her. She's right. This is how she must feel whenever she needs you. I wish I had an older sister." One corner of my mouth curved into a smile.

"Tell you what," I said and moved a stray strand of hair out of her face, "I'll be your acting older sister. How's that sound?" Davina smiled and nodded.

"I'd like that." I smiled back and got up from the bed. I pulled the comforter back so Davina could get under it.

"Could you stay here?" I chuckled and got beside Davina as she crawled under the covers. I leaned my upper back against the headboard and Davina turned to rest her head up by my shoulder.

"You're going to be a good mom. Thalia's lucky that you'll be her mom." I smiled and soon I heard even breaths from Davina as she fell asleep.

I moved Davina's bangs from her face and sighed. She's been through things that no sixteen year old should have to go through. I looked down at my growing stomach. I rubbed my belly and I felt Thalia kick from the sudden interaction.

I smiled, "I think I'm the lucky one. I get to be your mom, baby girl." I whispered.

I heard a knock on the door. "Come in." I said quietly. The door opened and Marcel walked in.

"Is she asleep?" He asked quietly.

I nodded, "Yeah. She's really freaked out. Sophie wanted us to sedate her but that would just freak her out more. I got her to calm down. How is it outside?" I asked.

"Peaceful since she's asleep. Klaus wanted me to come get you." I raised an eyebrow at that.

"What for?" I asked.

"He mentioned something about a group of people out in the Bayou needing shelter with the coming disasters." My eyes widened. I didn't even think about them!

"I'll have to get Cora to stay with Davina then." I said.

"I can stay with her." I gave a wary look to Marcel.

"She still doesn't trust you." Marcel gave me a pleading look.

"Please, Al." I sighed and shook Davina.

"Davina. Wake up." Davina made a groaning noise as she woke up, "I need to go check on some people and make sure they're safe. Marcel's going to stay with you, okay?" That snapped Davina awake. She shot up and glared at Marcel.

"No!" I could hear the wind start again.

"Davina, calm." I reminded her. Davina took a deep breath and the wind died down again.

"Don't leave me alone with him." Davina said in a calmer voice.

"D. Please, let me fix this." Marcel pleaded.

"Give him a chance, Davina." Davina eyed me before turning back to Marcel.

"Fine, but you have to stay across the room." Marcel seemed relieved.

"I'll take it. Thank you , Al." Marcel thanked. I nodded and got out of the bed.

"Keep her calm. Don't rile her up." I reminded Marcel as I walked out.

I left the room and headed downstairs where Nik was waiting for me. "Everything alright?" He asked.

"As long as Marcel can keep Davina calm." Nik took my hand in his and led me in the direction of the garage.

"Father Kieran has agreed to let the wolves of the Bayou take shelter at the church. I want you to come with me to tell them this news." I smiled and squeezed his hand.

"Of course. You can meet Cary while we're there." Nik smiled.

"That's what I planned on."

"There is food and water in the back. Please grab a sleeping bag and pillow." Father Kieran announced to the wolves in the church. Nik and I had gotten the wolves from the camp into church. At least here they're out of the elements. It won't take long for the water stage to come next.

Nik and I stood at the back of the church. "So, what do you think about meeting your distant relatives?" I asked.

"It feels strange. Meeting Cary was stranger. He somewhat reminded me of my biological father." I raised my brows in surprise.

"I thought you didn't meet him?" I asked.

Nik shook his head, "Not alive anyway. By the time I found him, Mikael had already killed him."

"I didn't know that. Did you at least know his name?" I asked curiously.

"Esther told me later when I confronted her the night I killed her. His name was Ansel." Nik responded.

Nik's ringtone began to go off. He pulled his phone from his pocket, "Marcel already get on your nerves, sister?" Nik said with a smirk.

"She's gone." Nik and I shared a look.

"What? Who's gone?" Nik asked.

"Davina. She's gone and so is Marcel. He must have taken her. He was not on board as we thought he was about completing the Harvest." I let out a sigh hearing that.

Nik's jaw clenched, "He's willing to risk the entire city and its inhabitants. Allye and I will stay at the church to see if they show up here. Rebekah, you search around the city for them. Call Elijah and tell him to get Sophie to cast a locator spell." Nik ordered.

"Okay." Rebekah hung up and Nik huffed.

"What was he thinking?" He muttered.

"His heart was in the right place, Nik. Davina's family to him. He can't just stand by and watch her die. She's scared to die herself. She probably went with him willingly." I advised.

Nik opened his mouth to answer until his phone went off again. I read the caller ID that said "Elijah" on it.

"Brother, I assume Rebekah told you about the little bird flying the coop?" Nik asked.

"She did. Sabine is trying to locate her right now. Davina's magic source is currently being spread all over New Orleans. We have another issue at hand." Nik huffed.

"What more could go wrong?"

"According to Sophie, Celeste's magic is gone. Somebody already consecrated the remains."

"What can we do then?" I asked. This was not a good situation we were in now.

"I have an idea. Both of you meet me back at the Compound." With that Elijah hung up.

"We need to get back." Nik nodded and the two of us headed for the exit.

"It's taken one thousand years, but you've finally gone mad. Our own mother?" Rebekah asked.

Elijah had gathered myself, Rebekah, Nik, Derek and Cora in the living room of the compound. Celeste's magic was already claimed. We need another powerful witch to complete the Harvest. Elijah brought us together to give us the idea that we use Esther.

"Yes, our beloved mother, who Niklaus has affectionately placed in a coffin in his basement. Not daggered, but quite dead." Elijah reminded.

"I've said it before and I'll say it again. That's creepy." I commented. Nik sent me a look before speaking.

"Well, she did try to kill us all." Nik reminded everyone.

"Wow. Mother of the year." Cora said sarcastically.

"Indeed. I say we put her to use and put her to rest once and for all. Now if we bury our mother on land owned by one of her descendants, she becomes a New Orleans witch, and we, as her family, share in that ancestral magic." Elijah explained.

"We're vampires, Elijah. We can't practice magic or own property, for that matter." Rebekah retorted.

"Yes, this is true. We cannot practice magic and, as for owning property, not all of our mother's descendants are dead…" Elijah trailed off and looked at me.

Nik looked at his brother with surprise, "Thalia." Nik and I said in unison.

Elijah nodded, "Thalia is very much alive. The parish Tax Assessor's office is just steps outside the Quarter. Allye now holds the title to the plantation. So, if we bury our mother there, and we consecrate those grounds, we can finish the Harvest ritual." This plan might actually work. It was a hell of a shot but what else do we have?

"You're a bit of a mad genius, Elijah. Count me in." Nik said with a grin. He beamed with pride for his brother.

"Us too." Derek answered for him and Cora. Elijah nodded and looked at me.

"What the hell. Let's do it." We all looked at Rebekah who stared at us in shock.

"Am I the only one thinking? Our mother was the most powerful witch in history. If we bury her, we hand that power to our enemies to use against us!" Rebekah argued.

"Given our circumstances. I hardly see that we have a choice, Rebekah." Elijah rebutted.

Rebekah huffed, "I don't see why I bother. You lot are going to do this regardless of what I think."

Elijah shook his head, "No. Our decision must be unanimous." I could see Nik roll his eyes.

"This isn't a democracy." Nik scoffed.

"You're quite right. This is family." A loud clap of thunder interrupted us and you hear rain start to pour down on the roof.

"Water. That's the next sign." Derek commented as he looked out the window.

"Rebekah?" Elijah turned back to his sister.

Rebekah let out a sigh, "Kill a demon today, face the devil tomorrow. Count me in."

Nik let out a smirk, "Well, this is no family reunion without our mother. I'll fetch her." I deadpanned as Nik exited the living room.

"Creepy!" I yelled after him.

"I heard you the first time, love!" He called back.

"Just saying. It was creepy back in Chicago, it's still creepy now." I muttered and shook my head.

"I heard that!" I heard him distantly yell. Damn his hybrid hearing. The others found great amusement from that exchange.

"While Niklaus is getting our mother. Rebekah," She turned to her brother, "We'll need your help finding Marcel. You know him very well. If anyone can find him you can, sister."

Rebekah sighed, "I'll see what I can do." Rebekah turned heel and walked away.

"We should probably get the priest and grave ready." Derek advised. Elijah nodded.

"I'll meet you three at the plantation. I'll go get Father Kieran." Elijah said.

"I'll get the umbrellas." Cora said and walked off.

I stood under an umbrella with Cora next to me with her own umbrella. Sophie was standing at the sidelines. She had caught up with us not long after we got here. Derek had a raincoat on and was digging the last of the grave.

"Alright. That should be good enough." Derek said and tossed the shovel. He climbed out of the grave and looked around.

"Klaus or Elijah aren't here yet? The grave's going to fill up with water at this point." Derek commented.

"We're here." I looked over to see Elijah and Father Kieran approach us. They two had umbrellas over them.

"Now we just need the guest of honor." Sophie stated.

"She's right here." Nik pushed the coffin on a bier. He was also wearing a raincoat over him with the hood pulled over.

Derek walked over to Nik and the coffin. Nik picked up one end and Derek picked up the other end. The two of them carried the coffin to the grave and set it down into it.

Derek joined Cora under her umbrella and Nik joined me under mine. "Anyone heard anything from Rebekah yet?" I asked.

Elijah began to walk over to us, "She found them. She'll be here any minute now."

"This better work." Derek said from the sidelines.

"It'll work." Sophie assured us.

My eyes caught sight of Rebekah coming towards us, "There she is."

"Will he bring her?" Nik asked as she got under Elijah's umbrella.

Rebekah nodded, "He'll bring her." She said solemnly.

"Are you ready to do this?" Father Kieran asked.

Nik shared a look with his siblings, "Always and forever." He recited the phrase they had said a thousand years ago.

Father Kieran handed Nik the dagger that had been blessed by him. Nik took the dagger and cut the palm of his other hand. He held out his bleeding hand and let the blood drip into the grave. Nik takes a step back and offers me the dagger next. I traded him the umbrella handle for the dagger.

I didn't wince as I cut my own palm. I clenched my hand into a fist and squeezed when it was over the grave. Putting Thalia's blood into the grave.

I pulled back and passed it to Elijah. Elijah did the same as Nik and I before giving it to Rebekah. Rebekah copied our earlier actions. Father Kieran took the dagger from Rebekah and tossed it into the grave.

"It's done." Father Kieran announced.

"Now for my part. We need to head back to Lafayette." Sophie announced.

All of us had now reconvened at Lafayette cemetery. The rain was still coming down but not as hard now.

Sophie had the altar ready with torches lit. The flames flickering on the torches suddenly grew stronger. I could feel immense heat coming from behind us. I turned around to see fire coming from the entrance of the cemetery.

"Fire." Sophie stated. It's Davina. They're here.

We watched as a trail of fire went through the cemetery. Marcel appeared from a corner and had Davina in his arms. The trail of flames licked at Marcel's heels as he walked. We watched as he walked past us. The flames stopped just before the altar.

Marcel laid down Davina and stepped back to the side myself and Nik were on. Marcel and I shared a look before he turned back around.

Sophie held the ceremonial dagger over the flames of the torches. Once that was done, she headed to Davina.

"Do you believe in the Harvest?" Sophie asked her.

Davina nodded nervously, "I believe."

I closed my eyes and turned my head away. I couldn't watch what happened next. Nik pulled me into him and I flinched as I heard the sound of the dagger slitting Davina's throat.

I slowly looked again to see that Marcel had caught Davina and gently laid her down. The rain suddenly stopped and the flames dissipated. I watched in fascination as Davina's skin glowed a golden hue. The golden hue traveled down her arm and into the earth. It's working.

"After the Harvest comes the Reaping. Their sacrifices made and accepted. We call upon our Elders to resurrect the chosen ones." Sophie chanted.

Nothing happened. I grew an uneasy feeling and looked around. Why wasn't anything happening? Sophie seemed just as confused.

"We call upon our Elders to resurrect the chosen ones." Still nothing. Sophie bit her bottom lip and her eyes are beginning to water.

"Resurrect your chosen ones…Please? I beg-" Sophie fell to her knees and began to weep. It didn't work.

I put my hand over my mouth as tears silently streamed down my face. Davina died in vain…

I could hear Rebekah and Cora start to cry as well. I turned and placed my head against Nik who put one arm around me. Marcel looked back at us. Tears were going down his cheeks as well. I could feel anger, hatred, and sorrow come from him as he stared at all of us. He blames us. He vanished as he used his speed to get away.

"Nik." Nik looked down at me, "Follow him. He shouldn't be alone right now." I said as I backed up.

Nik gave me a long stare but his eyes flickered up. I could feel Derek right behind me. Nik nodded to him and vanished in pursuit of Marcel. I felt Derek put his arms around me in a side hug.

I leaned into my brother's embrace and put one hand on top his arm as more tears fell down my cheeks. Cora walked over and joined in on the hug. We lost. This is the worst feeling right now.

A shot glass clanged on the bar table, "Today sucked." Cora said after she downed the shot. Derek and I decided since Cora lost a friend, she earned a drink tonight.

Myself, Derek, and Cora were in the bar of the Compound. "Tell me about it. I wish I could drink right now." I muttered as I leaned my head on my fist.

"The smell isn't bothering you?" Derek asked with a glass of whiskey in his hand.

"I'm either getting use to it or I'm just so numb right now that it's not phasing me." I stated.

"I'll take her drink." I lifted my head up to see Rebekah walking in with Nik.

Rebekah walked behind the bar and grabbed a bottle of scotch. She poured herself and Nik a glass. She passed one glass to Nik who gladly took it. He took a seat next to me at the bar counter.

"This whole thing was doomed from the start, you know? Yes, we saved the city and its inhabitants, and I'm not complaining about the witches losing their power. But this did not go down the way I thought it would." Nik said and took a sip of his scotch.

Rebekah sighed sadly, "I knew Elijah's plan was mad, but I really thought it would work."

"So did we." Derek piped in and gestured to myself and Cora.

"As did I. I was sure Davina would survive. There was so much life in her." Nik stated.

I shook my head in disbelief, "I really hate witches and their stupid rituals."

"Agreed." Rebekah said and held her glass up. Nik, Derek, and Cora also raised their glasses in agreement.

Cora frowned and tilted her head. She looked like something just came to her, "What about her power? We all saw it flow back to the earth. Four were supposed to rise and none did. All of that power had to go somewhere, right?" Cora speculated.

"Something tells me we'll be finding that out sooner than we think." Nik stated.
