Klaus wakes up a few times. The two of them manage to travel a few yards at a time before Klaus's body gives out in one way or another. One time, it was his injured left shoulder that could not take his weight and catch a fall. Another time, Klaus tripped over a tree root he was too delirious to see. Ben cannot feel heat, but he is sure Klaus is burning up with a fever. Overall, progress is slow. It has been a long day, no, a long few days for the both of them.

A few leaves crunch behind them and Ben tries to shove Klaus down for cover. His hands phase right through, but the message is received, and Klaus gets down behind a bush. A shot rings out and Klaus screams and flops down on the ground from his crouched position. He clamps down on his thigh and folds over himself, hyperventilating. Ben looks up and sees Cha-Cha walking towards them, shotgun in hand.

"That will teach you to listen to orders."

She kicks him over onto his side and pulls a handcuff from her pocket. Klaus curls up into the fetal position, gasping for air. She grabs his hands, which weakly push against her, and pins them behind his back, locking on the cuffs. Grabbing his shoulder, she hauls Klaus to his feet. The blood is gushing from his thigh now and creating a new layer over the old, dried blood. She yanks him in the direction of the warehouse. The sun begins to set.

Not again. Not again. Not again. He can't go back there. He just escaped. No. No. No. No. No. When will this end? He just can't go through another session with Cha-Cha. He has nothing left to break. Nothing left to take. He can't walk, talk, move, or breathe. No more tears left to shed. No more blood left to lose. Everything is broken. Nothing still functions. Is he still alive? What does it mean to be alive? To breathe? To live? Is he dead now? What qualifies as death? When his heart stops beating or when there is nothing left but an empty shell?

Vanya walks along the bay. In the distance, her family is by the car discussing the latest development. Diego is dripping wet with a towel over his shoulders. Vanya likes that she has been included lately, despite the current circumstances. However, she needs some space and air. The past few days have been terrible and the days the week before were no treat either. The chilly air sweeps water up from the bay and mists her face. The sky is cloudy and dull. She can hear murmuring from her family from afar. Suddenly, a hand covers her mouth from behind. She tries to scream but the grip only gets tighter. Her opponent's other arm wraps around her midsection, pining her arms to her side. Vanya wriggles and squirms. The air around her sings with her power and a miniature explosion takes out part of the railing and a tree. Her attacker scurries off, injured and limping. Five appears by her side.

"I'm ok." Vanya quickly replies and points where her assailant ran off.

Five squints his eyes and blinks into the driver's seat. Diego, who was on the hood of the car at the time, hops into the passenger seat and Five drives off, trailing Cha-Cha's new sedan.
