Jay and Hailey discuss Intelligence latest case and an old friend makes a surprise appearance
Going into the second month with Jay in Bolivia wasn't any easier for either of them they were texting when they could but with things heating up in both Bolivia and Chicago the texts weren't as frequent as they had been when Jay first left in a way it was a blessing that their jobs were keeping them busy and when they did get off work Hailey and Jay were usually so exhausted they would fall into bed the second they got home
Hailey had an unusual day off Intelligence had spent the better part of the last three and a half weeks tracking down a Human trafficking ring they had finally taken them all down and had saved the victims but she just wished that it hadn't taken a young 19-year-old girl being found brutally beaten to death for the case to come to light but she was glad that no other girls would be hurt. Hailey had just gotten dressed after having a much-desired and needed shower when her computer chimed alerting her of an incoming facetime call she accepted the call immediately and smiled as Jay's face filled the screen Hey he said with a wide bright smile hey yourself she replied how have you been she asked pretty good he said training has been keeping me pretty busy he added what about you hows your face he asked Its fine Hailey answered That's good Jay replies with a soft smile on his face I heard you were awesome on the last case and pretty much solved it by yourself Hailey blushed How do you know that she asked still blushing I've been talking to the rest of the team they were worried because you haven't been sleeping and have been pretty much living at the district since I left and especially during this last case he said with worry in his soft tone Hailey you need to be taking care of yourself I know she sighed in barely a whisper but it's hard she continued in a shaky voice I know its hard Jay softly replied but can you need to try if not for me or yourself for victims who are lookm to you to help them get justice Your an amazing detective Hailey and your going to do amazing things but you cant if you run yourself into the ground when I'm not here to help you he said Ok I'll try she replied good thats what i want to hear Jay replied simply. Then someone said something to Jay off-screen Hailey's heart sank it was probably time for him to go she sighed sadly you have to go now don't you she said sadly, No not yet we have finally been given the day off Jay responded brightly There's someone I want you to meet when the persons face came into view she recognized it instantly Mouse? She gasped recognizing the fellow army ranger from the many pictures Jay had shown her over the years Hi Hailey Mouse said with a bright warm voice it's great to finally meet you after all Jay here doesn't ever shut up about you It's all Hailey this Hailey that he said Hailey giggled as Jay blushed hard Its nice to meet you too Mouse, Hailey replied grinning widely. The next few hours were spent as Hailey listened to Mouse talk about stories about Jay she didn't remember a time in a long while when she had laughed and smiled so much, Later after Mouse had excused himself to go down to dinner Hailey was feeling better I can't believe that you tried to hit on an engaged Women she said teasing Jay Hey he replied I didn't know she was engaged and I was drunk he said trying to defend himself Hailey just smiled and rolled her eyes in return.
Later as she lay in bed just before she fell asleep her phone chimed with a text from Jay
Jay: Hey it was great to see you and Mouse get on so well although I can't help but be worried for when both of us are back stateside and you guys have the opportunity to gang up on me.
Hailey: It was great to finally meet him after all this time :) and don't worry we will go easy on you, should probably head to bed now love you stay safe
When she woke up in the morning she saw he replied
Jay Always need to come back to you after all and I love you too stay safe
