A/N - So I went in a different direction with this story. I plan on using a few movies to cover the different time placements as Naruto's adventures in the Anbu. Disclaimer - Naruto Mitarashi will be referred to as Fox Kitsune
Standing before Hiruzen Sarutobi, Fox Kitsune, Konoha's youngest and newest Anbu had recently received his orders to meet with the Anbu known as Cat. It was the day after Naruto Mitarashi's funeral and while only few showed up, many of his classmates joined the celebration with the destruction of Kyuubi.
Fox had been instructed to train for three months under Cat to help develop his kenjutsu. Due to fear that Anko would be in danger, the two of them were moved into the Anbu sector where Anko could live without any threat to her though she wasn't afraid to go out.
"Okay Fox. I want to get an idea on your fighting style. Please draw your weapon and spar with me for a bit. Also, don't hold back." Cat said and Fox gave her a nod before charging.
Fox was a prodigy among prodigies for his age and though he gave Cat a difficult time, she was far above him due to both skill and experience. The two clashed their. Ladies and while they were fighting, Cat began to look back on what happened a few days before the funeral.
Flashback
Naruto was currently inside the protective custody building inside the TI building. While many of the adults tried to bring comfort to him, nobody seemed able to get through to him. His body also went through some. Changes with a crimson aura that flowed around him whenever he activated his chakra along with his cerulean eyes being changed into crimson. Naruto also had his senses heavily increased. It was declared that Naruto was turned into a super soldier.
"Naruto, would you like some ramen?" Anko asked as she entered the room to check on her son.
Naruto shook his head. "No mother. I'm okay, but thank you." Naruto said in a cold and emotionless tone.
This sadden Anko along with the others, especially Hiruzen. The once happy go lucky boy had finally been broken by the villagers. While Anko's friends tried to comfort her, she refused to acknowledge Kurenai or the Inuzuka clan for how they treated Naruto.
Cat had arrived and informed Anko that she wished to speak with Naruto. Trusting her friend, Anko agreed to let her speak with her son though she remained in the room.
"Hello Naruto." Cat said but Naruto remained silent as he looked at her. Deciding to try something, Cat took off her mask to reveal herself as Yugao. This seemed to put Naruto at ease.
"Hello Yugao." Naruto said while remaining his emotionless tone.
"I've come to inform you that the two of us will be spending three months together, training to help develop your kenjutsu skills." Yugao explained.
Naruto gave a nod. "Yes ma'am." Naruto said.
"I'm also going to see if we can be placed in a semi unit together. This way, we can be sent in missions with our abilities being considered a specialty." Yugao explained.
Flashback Ended
The two continued clashing their blades. As Cat looked into the murderous crimson eyes that were seen through his eye holes, she couldn't help but pity the young boy being forced into a life like this at such a young age.
"Come on Fox! Show me what you've got!" Cat declared as she drew her second blade.
Fox charged at her and swung his blade across her stomach only for Cat to have performed a substitution which made Fox slice through a log. Cat had placed her sword against Fox's neck and declared herself the winner. Suddenly, Fox turned into a log and the two had resumed another heavy clash.
Watching from above the Anbu common area, Shisui and Yamato were watching the two with impressive glares. "I guess that's the new kid." Shisui said.
Yamato nodded. "Yes, I hear he is some kind of prodigy." Yamato declared.
"Yes. It seems that Fox Kitsune is a genius among geniuses. I don't believe either Shisui or I were at his level at that age." Itachi declared as he entered the Anbu common room.
"Okay, that's enough for now. Please take a break." Cat said.
After giving a bow, Fox proceeded to grab a glass of water from the water machine the Anbu had in the training field. Cat noticed that Fox placed a straw to sip his water without being soon unlike the other Anbu members.
A few minutes passed before Cat called for her student to come back to the training field. "Okay, I've got an idea behind your style. You tend to mix the serpent Taijutsu style. I figured that I'll teach you a new Jutsu, well, more so advanced version of your Jutsu." Cat explained.
Fox gave a nod and suddenly, Shisui appeared out of nowhere. "Yo. So you're the new guy huh?" Shisui asked and Fox gave a nod. "Okay, so Anko explained that you have already used the Shun Shin. I'm going to help you mix your wind affinity with it. This will help you perform the Wind Release - Body Flicker." Shisui explained.
"Yes sir." Fox said in his normal tone he's been using.
"Okay. so it's similar to the normal shun shin except you want to surround your body with Wind chakra. Not only will it help you move quicker, but you will appear as an afterimage." Shisui said as he performed the jutsu.
To the surprise of both Cat and Shisui, Fox performed the jutsu perfectly. Using his sharingan, Shisui was beyond impressed with how quickly Fox caught on to the advanced version of the jutsu.
"Dang Yugao, I might have to take him off your hands." Shisui said with a bright smile.
"Dragon, you idiot! You know we are supposed to only use our code names!" Cat declared while glaring behind her mask.
Shisui put up his hands in a defensive stance. "Oh come on Cat, I'm sorry." Shisui pleased as Yugao approached him with her sword before sighing.
"Okay Fox, since you managed to perform the body flicker and meet Shisui's expectations, we're going to develop a kennjutsu style that mixes the body flicker and serpent style fighting." Cat said.
Fox gave her a nod and to give him a proper training partner, Cat asked for Yamato to make a few wood clones. Fox looked at the ten copies of Yamato and took his serpent style taijutsu stance. The way his stance was his left arm in the front with his sword placed in his right hand (similar to Goku's stance when he fought Vegeta in the Saigon saga.)
The wooden clones of Yamato charged in at the young Anbu. Spinning his body along with vanishing while leaving an afterimage, Fox was able to slice the wood clones down with ease. Not letting up and wanting to help the boy get the most out of his training, Yamato continued creating wood clones.
As Fox continued his onslaught, all that could be seen was a crimson aura to formed around him with each strike. Even the Crimson Serpent blade had surrounded itself in the crimson aura. Once the wood clones were defeated, Cat ordered for Yamato to stop.
"Excellent, it seems your kenjutsu skills exceed even your Fuinjutsu." Cat declared.
Fox gave a bow to show his thanks for the praise. It was then time for Fox's physical conditioning and it consisted of five hundred push ups, sit ups, pull ups, and squats. He then would run fifty miles at a full sprint, and perform fifty thousand slashes with each hand along with fifty thousand punches and kicks with each arm and leg.
While many that were given such a routine, including an Anbu recruit, due to Fox having massive stamina and chakra reserves, the routine would give him an excellent workout. Similar to the famou Might Guy, Fox always tried ti challenge himself with training along with pushing himself into the ground. The routine lasted for a few weeks before it was time for Naruto's neck lesson.
Fox and Cat had proceeded out of the village while being joined by Shisui, Yamato, and Itachi. Shisui and Itachi were tasked with providing back up if they are attacked along with giving Fox another set of opponents. Yamato was sent due to his Wood release being able to subdue the boy if Kyuubi's chakra got out of hand. The five of them were heading to a special training field outside the village that the homage would train the legendary Shannon at:
When they arrived, Fox was impressed with the sight before him. It had nearly everything a person could need, including a hot spring and an ice cold pond. The air was thinner due to a seal which would help a person get used to having little air.
"Alright Fox. For the next month in a half, we're going to remain here. Truthfully, I was hoping to wait till the original three months were over but it seemed that you aren't the typical newbie." Cat explained while giving a small nod behind her mask.
"Fox, please complete your routine. It will be much harder though if you are able to complete the routine, you'll find that when you return to the normal settings, your body will be further developed." Yamato said.
Fox gave a bow before beginning his routine. Shisui and Itachi were having a spar with each other to keep their skills sharp. Yamato had made it his job to oversee Fox to make sure he isn't slacking while Cat begins to work on her Kenjutsu.
"I noticed the air is much lighter." Fox mentally thought.
"It's because your body is under the same conditions that a high mountain would give you." Said a deep and dark voice.
"I figured we would speak soon." Fox mentally commented as he was performing push ups.
"I still cannot understand why you bow to these pathetic humans. You have enough power to kill all of them." The voice said.
"Well unfortunately, I happen to care for a few of these humans. Plus, I'm a Shinobi of Konoha, so I kinda have to listen and follow orders." Fox responded.
"Hmph. Anyway, I've come to tell you a few things like." The dark voice said.
"I'm listening." Fox replied in his emotionless live.
"I wanted to inform you that as my host, you've received abilities that far pass these mortals. While my former two jinchuriki failed to take advantage of my power, the host before them had tapped into the truth power that I provided them." Kyuubi declared.
"No thanks. I rather use my own abilities and strength. I don't need to use your help especially because a deal with a demon always has a cost." Fox explained.
"You're smarter than I gave you credit for. However, my only request is that you eliminate and kill a certain someone for me. In exchange, I'll lend you my power." Kyuubi explained.
"I see. Who is this certain someone?" Fox asked his tenant with an uninterested attitude.
"Madara Uchiha." Kyuubi declared which made Fox stop his exercise and stand up.
"That's impossible. He's dead." Fox mentally responded.
"No. Madara is very much alive. Who do you think summoned next all those years ago?" Kyuubi asked.
"I see... So, if it's Madara we'll be going up against, then we will need to train hard won't we?" Fox asked.
"Indeed." Kyuubi said in a low tone before the connection broke and both. Cat and Yamato walked up to Fox.
"Fox? What's going on? Why did you stop?" Asked Yamato in his standard voice that always maintained professionalism.
"I spoke with my tenant just now." Fox said.
Hearing that had everyone on edge including Shisui and Itachi. Yamato prepared to used his Wood Release - Wood Imprisonment jutsu.
"What did the two of you talk about?" Cat asked cautiously.
"The person responsible for his attack was Madara Uchiha. In exchange for his power, all I need to do is help him eliminate him." Fox said as he looked at Cat.
"Madara Uchiha is dead and has been dead for many years." Itachi said.
"I don't know nor do I really care. All I know that I made a promise to eliminate him and like my mother before me, I never go back on my word." Fox said as he resumed his push ups.
The four Anbu were at a lost for words at what the young Anbu said. While Yamato was feeling uneasy about Fox's interaction with Kyuubi, both Shisui and Itachi were concerned about Madara and believed that an Uchiha had to reached a powerful level to even compare to rivaling Madara's level. They decided to keep quiet about it and speak with the homage when they returned.
It was soon time for Fox to begin his training practice and unlike in the village, the training field created real life opponents. These were bodies created out of chakra and would provide sparring with anyone who wanted to increase their overall abilities.
"Alright Kyuubi. Why don't we take your power out on a test drive?" Fox asked his tenant who smirked.
"Fine. However, You will only receive a small amount due to your body not being mature enough. Also, this is only what you can control without going berserk." Kyuubi said.
Fox gave a nod and to everyone's horror, Fox was covered in a crimson aura as he began charging at all of the opponents that were created by the training field. Having stuck with his serpent style taijutsu, Fox had been able to strike his foes in multiple fatal areas at speeds that were almost blind to the naked eye.
"As your body grows and you gain more control over your chakra, you'll receive more power. This is the initial Fox chakra form." Kyuubi explained.
"I see. This puts me easily at high jonin level." Fox mentally said as he continued taking on the lifeless bodies of chakra.
A few hours passed and Cat ordered Fox to take a break. "Okay, would you like to explain to us exactly what happened?" Cat asked the boy while crossing her arms.
"It's actually very simple. What you saw was the initial Kyuubi form. This allows me a slight boost to all my senses, speed, stamina, and strength. Since my body is still young, I can only use so much before it starts to damage my body or I lose control." Fox explained.
"Alright Fox, let's work on your weapon throwing. As an Anbu, you need to be able to strike a target with perfect accuracy. The little fighting dummies will be moving around and making it much harder for you to strike them. Here are ten Kunai and ten shuriken." Shisui said.
Fox nodded and grabbed the shurikens. At once, they all spun around and managed to strike each target in what would be a vital area. He then jumped into the air and threw the ten kunai at once and to everyone's surprise. They not only struck the targets, but went completely through them.
"Sounds like we really do have a prodigy on our hands." Yamato silently commented.
Night time came around and while everyone was setting up camp, Fox had been working on his chakra control by trying to make a kunai spin around his head. This proved to be extremely difficult due to his massive amounts of chakra in his body.
"What do you think?" Itachi asked Yugao who had removed her Anbu mask and was sitting around the fire.
"I think he's got promise though I do feel concerned about his mental health. I mean, he's the youngest Anbu ever." Yugao explained.
"He'll be fine." Shisui said with a wide smile.
"You don't understand. Dealing what we deal with is enough to break many jonin veterans, much less a six year old boy." Yugao said as she let out a sigh.
"True, and to add on to everything else, he has only ever really been around Anko." Shisui said.
"I think it would be wise for us to keep a constant monitor on his psychological health. I would hate for some with his potential to snap and go ballistic." Itachi declared.
"We won't have that problem." Shisui said with his relaxed attitude.
"How can you feel so easy about all this?" Yugao asked as her voice became annoyed.
"It's simple, haven't you all noticed how Fox acts around you?" Shisui asked.
Yugao and Itachi were silent as they tried to figure out what Shisui was getting at. "It's because Yugao looks similar to Anko. I'd say the purple hair is the biggest similarity." Said Yamato while he took a seat.
Shisui let out a chuckle. "That's right. Yugao and Anko could be sisters with that shade of purple, haha." Shisui laughed.
This annoyed Yugao as she started to blush. "Just because I have purple hair doesn't mean that I'm similar to Anko!" Yugao roared.
"You may think so, but Fox doesn't. Now it all makes sense. I was watching below and noticed that when you took your mask off, Fox became more relaxed like he is with his mother." Itachi explained.
"So what? He looks at me like a mother?" Yugao asked.
This made Shisui chuckle even more. "I wouldn't say a mother. Fox has made it clear that nobody would ever replace his mother. I think he looks at you with something else in mind." Shisui explained.
Yugao's face turned red that it looked like she had received a massive sunburn. "Shisui! He is only six! What kind of person do you think I am?" Yugao asked.
Shisui put up his arms defensively. "It was just a joke! I was kidding!" Shisui declared only to receive a punch in his head that left a massive bruise.
"Tomorrow, you will train him. That's your punishment." Yugao declared.
The group remained silent as they watched Fox spare in the simulation. However, it seemed he was placing himself under a restriction by only using his special kunai that he received on his birthday. Nobody could believe that such a boy showed so much promise.
"Who knows, I might make him my apprentice." Shisui said.
"Unfortunately, he is already the apprentice of Anko." Yamato pointed out.
"Wrong, Naruto Mitarashi was the apprentice of Anko. Fox Kitsune has no official sensei." Shisui declared.
"He does have a point." Yamato said.
Everyone soon went to bed though Fox remained awake as he kept training himself. Due to having Uzumaki blood inside of him, Fox could train and go all out for three days straight before he needed to eat, sleep, or drink. As instructed, Shisui received Naruto the following day and to everyone's surprise, Itachi had him on the third day. At the end of the final day, Fox crashed and went to bed. It was then decided that Yugao would train him on the first and third day while Yamato had him for the second day. Shisui would have him the day he woke up along with Itachi on the day after that. Yugao would then train him on the seventh day and this would be the routine they followed for the next few weeks.
Yugao continued helping Fox hone his kenjutsu skills while Shisui worked with him on his ninjutsu abilities since they shared the wind and lightning affinities. Fox had learned to produce his water wall and great breakthroughs without being vocal or using hand seals. Itachi worked with teaching Fox the shadow clone, shuriken clone, and exploding clone jutsu. Once he learned to use the jutsu, Fox decided to have them further increase his training. Fox worked with Yamato on his physical conditioning and training. By the time for them to return, Fox was officially ready to begin his Anbu assignments.
Standing in front of the homage, Hiruzen eyed the mask boy. Standing in the room were Ibiki, Anko, and Inoichi who were curious about Fox's development. This was when the Yamanala clan head decided to have him tested. The nine of them proceeded to the homage's personal training ground where Fox would be tested.
He revealed his water wall, shadow clones, great breakthrough, along with the shuriken clone and exploding clone jutsu. When it came time for weapon accuracy, Fox passed perfectly. During the taijutsu spar, Fox and Anko went at it. Since he had been gone for awhile, Anko had sunk herself into non stop training and it showed.
While Fox had improved greatly, his mother was still in a class of her own while using the serpent style. Hiruzen was satisfied with the performance and gladly informed the group that Fox had passed. He would be placed in a squad with Shisui and Yugao. Fox and Anko proceeded to their home in the Anbu estate where he removed his mask and it shocked Anko to see that both his eyes and hair were red.
"What happened?" Anko asked her son as she began to rub her hands in his hair.
"What are you talking about?" Fox asked as he walked over to a mirror and was in shock. "When the hell did this happen?" Fox asked himself.
"I decided to change your look. I figured by removing the blond hair, you wouldn't have to worry about being discovered by the counc." Kyuubi explained.
"Good thinking." Fox said mentally. "So Kyuubi informed me that he changed my hair and eye color to prevent the council from discovering the truth." Fox explained.
"You've been talking to it?" Anko asked with hesitation in her voice.
"Don't worry mom. Or should I call you Anko sensei?" Fox asked.
Anko sighed and gave her son a hug. "Mom is fine." She said.
"Anyway, Kyuubi decided it would help keep the council from figuring out the truth if I went through a physical change. Personally, I like it." Fox said
The two then proceeded to the table where Anko had created their famous meal, dango and ramen. As they chowed down, Anko couldn't help but feel pride in her son who had made history of becoming Konoha's youngest Anbu of all time.

- Now that all of his training is complete, Fox will be following the movies to cover some of his time during the Anbu.
- Fox will learn the Rasengan (tailed beast version) and the Hiraishin as the story progresses.
