A/N - Sorry of the Land of snow was sloppy. I'm going to stick with the filler arcs to fill in the blanks. During the next few chapters, Naruto will begin building relationships with the other Leaf Higher ups such as Asuma, Kurenai, Hana, etc
Fox and Cat had met with Dragon as they arrived at the hokage's office. They were informed of a mission to eliminate the Amegakure and Ex-Konoha ninja Ali Rokusho who wields the God of Thunder Sword. However, Shisui had been assigned a separate mission and so his replacement will be Itachi Uchiha with Yugao as team captain.
"So this will be another elimination and Assassination A rank mission. Do you have any questions?" Hiruzen asked the three Anbu in front of him.
"Yes Lord Hokage. What are we to do with the God of Thunder Sword?" Fox asked.
Hiruzen gave a smirk. "We can't let it fall into the wrong hands right?" Hiruzen asked with a smirk.
The three then performed a shun shin while Dragkn remained in the room. Before either of them spoke, Hiruzen set up a privacy barrier and a sound seal.
"Are you aware of your mission?" Hiruzen asked with a completely changed expression.
"Yes Lord Hokage. I'm to engage Fugalu Uchiha and use my kotoamatsukami in order to put an end to the Coup that he's planning." Shisui said in his professional voice.
"Correct. Now Shisui. If you wish to back out of this, you still have time." Hiruzen said while speaking in a grandfatherly like voice.
"No Lord Hokage. I will not let the arrogance of the clan bring this village down along with the people I care about. Even if I must take matters into my own hand." Shisui said
"Alright. Go ahead. Please be careful." Hiruzen said as Shisui vanished.
Fox, Cat, and Weasel were currently headed south to the Land of Tea where Aoi was last spotted. Having two sensors of the group was pointless unless they could recognize his chakra signature. Fox was determined to complete this mission without relying on Kyuubi's chakra.
"I wonder how strong this Aoi guy is." Fox declared.
"Rumor has it he was quite the shinobi. However, due to a denied jonin promotion, he turned traitor." Weasel declared.
"Why do I feel that three Anbu are over kill?" Fox asked no one in particular.
"Because, Konoha believes in the Teamwork idea. While one shinobi may be enough, having a team covers for multiple worse case scenarios." Cat explained.
"I see." Fox said as they continued proceeding forward south.
Shisui stood before the Uchiha compound. "I won't let you do this Fugaku. Please forgive me... Father." Shisui said as he proceeded into the compound.
Entering the home of Fugaku, his wife, Mikoto had greeted him.
"Hello Shisui, is everything alright?" Mikoto asked the boy who was looking uneasy.
"Where is Fugaku?" Shisui said.
"I believe he's out on a mission at the moment. Lord Hokage sent him, Hiashi, and Tsune Inuzuka to track down a missing ninja." Mikoto explained.
Shisui narrowed his eyes. "I see... Okay, thank you." Shisui said before vanishing in a body flicker.
Jumping through the forest, Shisui had his Mangekyou Sharingan activated as he proceeded to chase down Fugaku and either eliminate him or control him. Fearing that Fugaku's Sharingan may rival his, Shisui had mentally accepted the fate of him mostly likely being killed.
After four days of searching, Shisui eventually found Fugaku, Hiashi, and Tsune. Knowing that he didn't have any chance against the three of them, he decided that if he could force the two others away, he would have a chance.
Hiashi was currently reviewing the map and creating a plan, Tsune and her ninja hound, Kumonaru we're watching the area. Fugaku was sitting against the log as he pretended to be asleep. To Shisui's surprise, nobody was able to detect him.
"Kotoamatsuki..." Shisui muttered quietly as he focused on Hiashi.
Standing up, Hiashi informed Taune that he had felt a strange presence and would go do his own search and that they should remain here. Tsune gave the Hyuga a nod while Fugaku didn't acknowledge the man.
As Hiashi walked off, Shisui then focused on Tsune and had done the same. With Fugaku alone, Shisui created a group of shadow clones as they appeared and struck Fugaku with their swords in every direction.
Suddenly, Fugaku's body was replaced with a log and he stood behind Shisui with an unimpressed look.
"So, you choose the village over your family?" Fugaku asked the Uchiha prodigy.
"You don't understand the consequences that will come with the coup. The Uchiha stand no chance against the village." Shisui explained.
"That's a risk I'm willing to take." Fugaku said as he activated his Sharingan and drew a kunai.
Shisui could only sigh in disappointment. "I'm sorry, but I cannot let you do this." Shisui said as he charged at the clan head.
The two clashed their weapons at each other and though Fugaku wasn't as fast as Shisui, his Sharingan allowed him to keep up with the boy's speed and counters the attacks given to him by Shisui.
"Uchiha Release - Halo Fire Dance!" Shisui shouted as multiple slashes of fire chased Fugaku only to be blocked by a Fire Release - Fire Wall.
"You lack the experience to defeat me." Fugaku said in a serious tone.
"Don't underestimate me. I will eliminate you and Itachi will become the clan head. He will be the one to fix the problems between the leaf and the Uchiha." Shisui declared.
"You fool! There is nothing no to fix!" Fugaku shouted as he went through a series of hand seals. "Uchiha Release - Blazing Shuriken Dragon!" Fugaku yelled. Multiple shuriken were fire as they changed their shape and began cutting Shisui.
Before Shisui could counter, Fugaku sent him flying with a kick to his chest. Fugaku charged and when he aimed to take Shisui's Sharingan eye, a massive green figure appeared which stopped Fugaku's attack.
"Susano?" Fugaku asked with curiosity.
"I will do what I must to stop you!" Shisui declared as his Mangekyou Sharingan were spinning.
Forming around Fugaku, a black version of the Susano appeared. "You lack the hatred to use the power of our Uchiha blood." Fugaku said.
Both the green and black Susano chakra armor clashed their blades against each other. To the Ichiha clan head's surprise, Shisui was able to hold his own.
"Impressive. You are far more stronger than I gave you credit for." Fugaku said.
"I don't want to fight with you Fugaku. We are family. Family doesn't do this." Shisui said as he glared at his best friend's father.
"Anyone that chooses the village over the clan doesn't deserve to use the word family." Fugaku said as he charged at Shisui.
Not wanting to let up, Shisui fought back and suddenly, his light green Susano turned a darker shade of green. Both Shisui and Fugaku were sent flying g from the force of the clash.
Using all of his might, Shisui managed to escape before Fugaku could stop him. It wasn't long before Hisashi and Tsune returned. When asked what happened, Fugaku declared it was nothing, just a rogue ninja he obliterated.
Weasel, Cat, and Fox were clashing against Aoi who proved to be far more skilled in Kenjutsu than either Car and Fox. Refusing to give in, Fox refused to use Kyuubi's chakra.
"Not bad. Though, I'm surprise Konoha's Anbu is far below that of Amegakure or Iwakagure." Aoi said in a taunting tone.
"Brat, use my chakra. It an entire tail, but use a little." Kyuubi said.
Fox growled but agreed and the crimson chakra formed around his body. Since Car had spent much time with her teammate, she could spot the different and felt satisfied at seeing Fox using only a fraction of the power.
"What's this? Some bloodline?" Aoi asked with genuine curiosity.
Fox vanished in a blur and managed to get in Ali's face though the missing ninja blocked the punch though he was able to appear behind him and deliver a punch to his back. Aoi ached in pain and was in shock at the boy's strength.
"Interesting. You are powerful for a little Gaki." Aoi said with an impressed smirk.
Fox glared behind his mask and took off in another charge with his blade and had connected his against the God of Thunder sword. The lightning chakra that was enhanced had proven to stand its own against the power of the demonic chakra.
As the two continued their clash, Cat. Priced a familiar chakra signature approaching though it was weak. She informed Weasel who agreed to check it out while she remained to have Fox's back.
Getting angry, Fox began drawing on the first tail of Kyuubi's chakra. Aoi was stunned and began to sweat at the sight and feeling from the chakra.
"What is this?" Aoi asked.
"Haha! I'm the Jinchuriki of Kyuubi and you will die!" Fox roared as he charged in a burst of crimson while swinging his blade. Aoi was somehow able to block the slashes and realized the sword moved on its own to protect the wielder.
The intensity was none stop. It was like a battle of kage with the killing intent being released from both parties.
Weasel had found the chakra signature and when he got close enough, he noticed it was Shisui. Quickly getting to his friend, Weasel took off his mask to reveal the stunned expression.
"Shisui? What happened?" Itachi asked.
"I fought Fugaku. I tried to take him down but he was far above my limits." Shisui said with a chuckle.
"We need to get you help." Itachi said but was stopped by Shisui.
"It's too late. However, I know how we can stop the Uchiha's revolt." Shisui said with a small chuckle. He suddenly pulled both eyes out.
"What are you doing?" Itachi asked as he stepped out of character by revealing the emotions.
"Itachi... I need you to kill me." Shisui said weakly.
"What? No! I can't." Itachi said as he gave his friend a tearful expression.
"Don't look at me like that. I know the face your making. Look, I need you to kill me and then afterwards, I need you to use my eyes." Shisui said.
"That's ridiculous! I don't need the Mangekyou Sharingan like that." Itachi declared.
"Please..." Shisui said as he was slowly losing conscious.
Deciding to honor his best friends request, Itachi cut him across his neck and destroyed the body. Suddenly, Itachi's three Tomo Sharingan evolved into three swirls. Not wasting much time, he followed Shisui's advice and swapped the eyes.
In that moment, a burst of green chakra formed around Itachi as his Sharingan turned into a triangle with a swirl sticking out each side. (Zelda triangle symbols.)
Itachi then charged at full speed back to his team as his newly revolved Mangekyou Sharingan was activated. When he arrived, he saw Fox clashing with Aoi. Without announcing himself, he went through a series of hand seals. "Amateretsu!" And a black flame released from his eyes.
Aoi noticed this and when his lightning barrier appeared, the flame began absorbing it and had caught his arm. Thinking quickly, Aoi sliced his burning hand off before fleeing the seen.
"Itachi of the Sharingan and Fox Kitsune of the Crimson Serpent... Two interesting bingo book entries." Aoi said with a sharp smile.
"What was that and what happened to your eye?" Cat asked as she saw Itachi's strange looking Sharingan.
"Nothing... Shisui turned on my father and I was forced to kill him." Itachi lied.
Neither Fox or Cat could believe what happened. As the three discussed the ordeal, they agreed to return back to Konoha with the news. As they proceeded forward, Car recognized the signatures of Tsune, Hiashi, and Fugaku and so they picked up the pace.
Soon, the two squads met and when Fugaku saw Itachi's eyes, the two were immediately transported into a strange world with everything being inverted to black and white.
"I see. So you awoken your Mangekyou Sharingan." Fugaku said.
"Yes. I killed Shisui and took his eyes." Itachi said in an emotionless tone similar to Fox.
"I see. In one year, we strike. Your mother and Sasuke will be left out of it as they are unaware of what's going on." Fugaku explained to his eldest son.
"Yes father." Itachi said and when the Tsukuyomi ended, only a mere second passed.
"So, it was Shisui who attacked hug?" Tsune asked as she shook her head in disappointment at the promising boy.
Fox remained silent but spoke with his tenant. "Something feels off. Call me crazy, but I believe things aren't what they seem." Fox said.
"They hardly ever are. Didn't your cyclops captain say something about looking underneath the underneath?" Kyuubi asked.
"Something tells me that the Uchiha clan is planning something. I need to speak to Itachi about this." Fox said.
"Don't worry. I've got just the truck." Kyuubi said and then suddenly, both Fox and Itachi appeared in the caged room.
"What's going on?" Itachi asked as his eyes went wide at seeing both Fox and Kyuubi.
"Spill it. What actually happened?" Fox asked in a stern tone.
Sighing because he couldn't avoid it, Itachi explained the conflict between Konoha and the Uchiha. He declared that Fugaku is planning a coup and Shisui's mission was to either control or kill him.
"Shisui nearly was killed and before he died, he asked me to kill him. Doing so allowed me to awaken my Mangekyou Sharingan. After, I then replaced my eyes with his. This is what gave me the ultimate power." Itachi explained.
"I see. So the Uchiha are planning to attack the village and bring us into a civil war. This could then motivate the other villages to attack. If this isn't stopped, we could enter the fourth great shinobi world war." Fox declared.
"That's right. However, I'm working as a double agent and will be reporting everything to the Hokage. I do have one plan to stop this coup." Itachi said.
"What is it?" Fox asked.
"I will eliminate the entire Uchiha clan. This will be the only way to stop everything." Itachi said.
"Are you serious? Why? You will become an international criminal!" Fox declared.
"I know. However, I rather take the burden then allow my home to be destroyed by the clan's ignorance. However, I do plan on sparring both my mother and younger brother." Itachi said to his teammate.
Fox went silent as he thought about the words Itachi said. "Alright, when are you planning to do this?" Fox asked.
"Next year. I need to monitor everything so Konoha can prepare and be ready for any and all attacks the Uchiha may plan if things happen earlier than expected." Itachi declared.
The two returned to reality and like with the Tsukuyomi, only a mere moment passed.
"This is going to be one pain in the ass." Fox said to Kyuubi.
"I don't mind them bastards killing each other. It to mention, Itachi may be the one who leads us ti Madara." Kyuubi muttered.
"I guess I'll need to keep an eye on Sasuke. Do you think the Hokage will have me as a jonin sensej?" Fox asked.
"You have a better chance of stopping Fugaku from going through with the coup." The fox declared in a sarcastic tone.
"Yeah, you're right." The boy said with a mental smirk.
After three days, the shinobi returned to the village. Fugaku's team successfully completed the mission and though Cat's team technically failed, it was still a success because of Itachi's awakening. Cat was dismissed while the Hokage spoke with Fox and Itachi.
"I'm aware that you know what's going on." Hiruzen said to the red head boy who gave a nod. "It's important that after everything happens, you keep a close eye on Sasuke and Mikoto. Your mother was Mikoto's best friend. I would like you to convince Anko to become friends with her." The Hokage ordered.
Fox gave a bow. "Yes Lord Hokage." Fox said before vanishing in a shun shin.
"Lord Hokage. As a request, I would like to have Kakashi Hatake as Sasuke's jonin sensei. With him having the Sharingan, this will allow him to help Sasuke master it and not fall on the path of darkness." Itachi asked the Hokage.
"I see. Yes, I believe that's a good idea. What about Fox?" Hiruzen asked.
"He and Yugao have near perfect teamwork that could rival mine and Shisui. I believe a two man squad of them two along with a two man squad of Kakashi and Yamato would be ideal." Itachi suggested.
Fox and Cat met with Anko and the three of them went to get some dango. Since Fox changed his appearance, he could get away without his mask but being the secretive boy he was, Fox only lifted his mask when needed.
"So, Shisui huh? I never would have thought a happy go lucky guy could snap like that." Anko said as she was eating her dango.
"I believe there is more to it than we are seeing." Fox said as he finished five dango sticks without his face being seen.
"Well Anko, Foxy here has proven to be quite the shinobi." Yugao said with a smile.
"Oh? Is my little Kitty crushing on my son?" Anko asked in a taunting tone.
Yugao's face went red and Fox's would have too but it was covered by the mask. After the three had their dango, Yugao told Fox they didn't have any missions tomorrow and that they would do some training. Fox nodded as both he and his mother went home.
When the two got home, Fox removed his mask. "Mom, do you think you could help me out with my taijutsu?" Fox asked.
"Huh? You really want me to help you out with your taijutsu?" Anko asked her son.
Fox gave a silent nod. "I'm strong but I can be stronger. You are one of the top shinobi of konoha. Any team of genin would be blessed to have you as their sensei." Fox told his mother.
Anko came and gave her son a tight hug and had anime tears coming out her eyes. "Oh Foxy! I love you to death! You are the best son ever!" Anko declared.
After the two settled down, Fox decided to ask his mother for some advice. "Hey mom? Can I ask you something?" Fox asked.
Anko smirked at seeing the awkward feeling that was appearing all over her son's face. "What is it?" Anko asked.
"Have you ever dated anyone before?" Fox asked as he played with his fingers similar to how Binsri did in cannon.
"Awe, does my little Foxy have a crush? Who is it? Who is the girl I've got to go threaten?" Anko asked.
"Yugao." Fox said blankly.
Anko's eyes opened wide at what she heard. "I'm sorry Fox. But it sounded like you said your crush was on Yugao." Anko said.
"I did. I like Yugao." Fox said in the same tone.
Anko sighed. "Okay, why do you like her?" Anko asked with curiosity creeping in her voice.
"She reminds me of you. PrinRily, the purple hair." Fox said.
Anko's face had a blush. "Huh?" Anko asked.
"You are one of the strongest, smartest, and kindest person I've ever met. You took me when nobody cared if I lived or died. I get a similar feeling from Yugao though it's different because she isn't like a mother to me." Fox said.
Anko smiled softly at her son. "I see. Well, truthfully, I think you should give it some time. Get to know her better and make sure you always remain respectful." Anko said.
The two continued discussing the many things a guy should do that a woman would like. She also explained that it's important to never let his emotions get in the way of the mission but he should never abandon his comrades. By the end of the night, Fox didn't know where to feel prepared or scarred by the things his mother told him.
Over the next few mk the, Fox trained with both his mother and Yugao. Thanks to threat of no more dango, Anko promised to keep Fox's crush on Yugao a secret. Fox has also trained with Itachi and Kakashi as the three had become closer. Fox celebrated his seventh birthday and as a result, he was given his father's Hiraishin scroll that would take him some time to master since he previously mastered the Rasengan.
Fox had also worked on controlling the third tail chakra cloak form and was able to fight with it while minimizing the damage down to his body. Fox had also mastered the Denonic Fox Release - Tailed Beast Sphere and the Demonic Fox Release - Crimson Chakra Wall.
Cat and Fox continued their missions together and as they progressed on, the seven year old boy had become quite powerful and was able to rival that of Kakashi in his initial Kyuubi form. To say the Crimson Serpent was popular, it was an understatement. Even the academy students and civilians had heard of his history and gained a massive level of respect for the young Anbu.
Ending Notes
- Fox is practicing the Hiraishin and learning it which will take him some time so that way he isn't too OP
- Fox will be competing in the chunin exams in Kumo in the next chapter and become known through out the nations and even placed in the Bingo Book officially with more details
- Since Fox is only 7, he and Yugao aren't dating though as he gets older, their bond and feelings will grow for each other.
