here is my twelfth chapter of my 'Xiaolin Showdown' fanfiction modeled after another blogger's own discontinued fanfiction, 'Into the Rush', while my fanfiction is named 'Raimundo Pedrosa and Kimiko Tohomiko's 'Into the Rush Now''. this fanfiction is just a slight re-telling of CommonKnowledge's own fanfiction from before they had discontinued it. this twelfth chapter here is one which I am posting while on vacation. this twelfth chapter is all about how Raimundo and Kimiko must work as a team to save their families.
this twelfth chapter is a good one-thousand-twenty-two words of pure storyline. it has no comments from me which I have disguised as author's notes. the storyline of this twelfth chapter of my fanfiction doesn't include the explanation of the chapter's storyline up above, this headnote, right here, which explains the length of words for this chapter, or the disclaimer which makes up the following paragraph after this headnote.
disclamation: I don't own either the gem that was 'Xiaolin Showdown' or its sucky excuse for a reboot that was 'Xiaolin Chronicles'. both series are owned solely by Christy Hui in terms of creation. I know, just like the Fountain of Hui shen gong wu. if I were a gambler, I'd wager that she named that particular shen gong wu after herself. the ownership rights of 'Xiaolin Showdown' in terms of production are reserved for the Warner Brothers Studios, while the ownership rights of the trainwreck that was 'Xiaolin Chronicles' in its own productional terms are reserved for DisneyXD. most of this fanfiction is not even my own work. it was originally done by someone else on this site under the penname of CommonKnowledge, but he/she abandoned their own fanfiction. I'm beginning to wonder if the person behind the penname is even still breathing. anyway, I only wrote this fanfiction up because I wanted to continue their work for them if they were just never gonna finish their own fanfiction. at least, I admit to that sort of thing.
Kimiko just leant back onto the couch before next she responded to her partner, Raimundo, about the deadly game into which the two of them had both been drafted by the people who kidnapped both her father and his kid sister.
Kimiko 'Tomye': I'm no good at this kind of stuff.
When he had no answer to her response, Kimiko looked back at Raimundo. She caught his profile in the process as he studied the sheet of paper of which was presently in his hand by then. Suddenly, he felt the need to ask her something.
Raimundo Pedrosa: Can I see the other stuff?
It was as though he could actually sense her eyes bore onto him.
Kimiko 'Tomye': What stuff?
Raimundo then looked in Kimiko's direction.
Raimundo Pedrosa: You know, the rest of the stuff from the envelope.
Raimundo watched Kimiko as she hesitated before he reached out to grab the envelope from his newest partner for the dangerous game into which the two of them had both been drafted. The girl dumped said envelope's contents onto her lap before tucking the empty envelope away. The Brazilian did nothing to question her but he noted her behavior as he accepted the rest of the sheets of paper from her.
Raimundo shuffled through all the paperwork from within the envelope and it was all basically exactly as Kimiko had told him it was earlier back at his friend, Omi's, almost-a-dojo; rules, instructions, the ultimatum regarding her father and his kid sister, even the instructions for Kimiko on how to find Raimundo, himself, and what she would have needed to do and say to get him involved in this sick, twisted little game into which the two of them had been drafted against their will. He looked at every sheet of paper from within the envelope, searching desperately for something his partner had yet to tell him.
Raimundo Pedrosa (continued): And this was what, again?
Kimiko 'Tomye': I told you before. It's the information I had received from whoever we're up against about you and your role in the situation regarding my papa.
Raimundo then asked Kimiko a new question after more studying of the envelope's contents.
Raimundo Pedrosa: And was this really all there was to their instructions for you?
Kimiko 'Tomye': Yeah, I'm afraid that's all there was. I read over the instructions, myself, just before I walked out my own front door this morning, just in case you'd want my word on that.
Kimiko felt depressed all of a sudden through her reply to her new partner, Raimundo. At first, it had seemed like so much. She finally realized, however, that in truth, they had very little to go on.
Raimundo Pedrosa: So, basically, your father and my kid sister have been kidnapped by the people who've also drafted the two of us into this sick little game of theirs.
Raimundo then glanced over at Kimiko to make sure that she was following his every word. The Brazilian continued as soon as the girl in his friend, Omi's, apartment with him nodded in response to his words.
Raimundo Pedrosa (continued): And we have no choice but to play their sick game and solve the clues that our loved ones' captors have sent us on like we're on a scavenger hunt in order to ensure their safety and yours.
Kimiko 'Tomye': Sounds pretty much like it, for the most part.
Raimundo Pedrosa: And in the meantime, we still need to figure out who's behind all of it, too.
Raimundo final comment at the time only got Kimiko to raise an eyebrow before she responded back to the Brazilian.
Kimiko 'Tomye': It doesn't say anything about finding out who these baddies are.
Then, Kimiko looked over the instructions once more, wondering whether or not she had managed to miss something or other. As he saw her looking over the sheets of paper from the envelope once more at the time, Raimundo realized that she was worried about possibly having missed something in the instructions for the game which the baddies had delivered to her. The Brazilian needed to explain to the girl in the room with him that he was the one who came up with that instruction and not the masterminds of the game into which the two of them had both been drafted.
Raimundo Pedrosa: I'm adding that instruction to our check list.
Kimiko suddenly realized that that last comment from Raimundo before she gave the instructions for and the clues to the scavenger hunt a short once over.
Kimiko 'Tomye': Right now, I only wanna find my father and make absolutely certain he's alright.
Kimiko sighed as Raimundo only felt sorry for her the minute he suddenly remembered when she mentioned to him that her father was the only family she had left. The Brazilian came from a huge family, but it did very little to make his kid sister any less important to him than any other member of his family.
Kimiko still only seemed even more on that line than that of which Raimundo had. There was also the fact that her life had been threatened just as her father's and his kid sister's lives had while, for some strange reason, his life had remained unthreatened. The Brazilian's only ultimatum was his own kid sister's life.
Raimundo had begun to wonder if whomever did this to his kid sister and to Kimiko and her father had the knowledge that that would be all it would take. It barely made any sense, however, since Kimiko did not seem to be much like the type of girl who would not act unless her life was particularly at risk.
Raimundo Pedrosa's brain: Then why?
Raimundo was completely unsure of the reason so he decided to chase his questioning out of his head. The Brazilian Interpol officer chose to focus on something on which he was supposed to be focused. He chose to focus on solving the first clue of the scavenger hunt, something he was supposed to be able to clarify for both himself and for his newest partner, Kimiko.
