Summary: Erica has a boyfriend. Tonight, he's meeting her family.
Requested by: Boris Yeltsin
Disclaimer: I do not own any characters. If I did, we seriously would get more Erica moments. Like, seriously.
Erica was nervous.
She never got nervous.
She kept fiddling with her DND stuff, reorganizing it over and over.
It had been two years since the whole Vecna ordeal, and even though they knew he wasn't gone they all were enjoying the two-year break.
Max was fine, though she still had a slight limp from her broken leg.
Eddie had gotten attacked by demobats, but luckily El saved him. He was sporting matching scars with Steve, though.
Erica was in 8th grade now and was an honorary member of Hellfire.
She still had as much sass as she did three years ago.
And she had a boyfriend.
And he was coming over to meet her family.
Tonight.
It was the summer after Vecna when they met.
He had moved from Georgia because of his dads work as an attorney.
His family was Irish, so he had an Irish accent, even after living in the south for his whole life.
They became fast friends.
Erica had started teaching him DND, which he fell in love with.
He taught her baseball, which wasn't her favorite, but it was fun nothing less.
They started dating around 3 months ago, and they both told their family a few weeks ago.
Lucas had made fun of her until she reminded him of Max, which quickly shut him up.
The Party had yet to find out, with Erica threatening Lucas if he did tell them, she would literally punch him in the face. Hard.
Erica smirked, thinking of Lucas's face when she said that, while pulling her long curls into a high bun.
Shrugging her jean jacket on she headed downstairs to help her mom with dinner.
"Hey!" her mom said. "There's the dating girl."
"Mom!"
"Don't worry, she did that to me too." Lucas told her, smirking.
Erica just rolled her eyes, starting to help her mom with the salad.
It was time.
The doorbell rang.
"I got it!" Erica called, running to the door.
She opened and their stood her boyfriend.
Gerry.
He smiled at her, with his green eyes, blonde hair, and athletic body.
"Hey," giving her a hug. "You ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be." she said chuckling.
Erica led Gerry to the dining room, where her family waited for them.
"Guys," Erica starting the introduction. "This is Gerry."
Gerry stuck his hand out to her dad.
"Pleasure to meet you."
After all the introductions, they all sat down for dinner.
"So, Gerry," Mrs. Sinclair started. "I heard you play baseball."
"Yeah, I do," Gerry's Irish accent was on point tonight. "For about 8 years now."
"What position do you play?" Lucas asked, looking impressed.
"I fill in for the third basemen sometimes." Gerry responded. "But I'm better at batting."
Erica's father nodded.
"And you're from where?" he asked.
"Well, my mother's parents moved to Georgia from Ireland about 30 years ago. My dad's parents have always been in Georgia. I've lived in Georgia my whole life."
"Interesting," Erica's mother concluded. "Do your parents have accents too?"
"My mom still has most of an Irish accent, though it's mixed with southern and my dad doesn't have a super thick southern accent. I don't know how I still have my Irish accent still though."
"What do your parents do?" Lucas asked.
"My dad's an attorney and my mom's a reporter."
Erica was smiling at her boyfriend. He was doing really well. She really had nothing to be nervous after all.
"You were awesome."
It was after dinner and the couple was in Erica's room, with the door open.
It had been a great dinner.
The two had told the Sinclair family how they met, and what else they enjoyed doing.
"Well so were you." Gerry responded.
He was looking around her room, this being the first he was in her room.
Even though they were best friends for about 2 years, they'd never been to each other's houses. There was no need, with Steve chauffeuring them around town, having lots of free time, and only being a neighborhood over.
They'd both tell their parents that they were friends, but neither of them met either's parents.
Which was weird, but the opportunity never came up.
Lucas ended up meeting Gerry once or twice, but not long enough to get to know him.
Gerry stopped at Erica's bulletin board full of pictures, from pictures to her family, the Party, and ones with just her and Gerry.
"Remember this?" he asked, pointing to a picture.
It was of when Erica first hit a baseball.
Erica nodded, wrapping around his shoulders.
The two kept gazing at the photos until...
"Ooooo, Erica's hugging her boyfriend!"
"Lucas Charles Sinclair!"
AN: I hope you like it, Boris Yeltsin! I don't know how to write so he sounded like he had an Irish accent, so just pretend! I also don't know a lot about baseball, so if there's any flukes, I'm sorry! Requests are open!
