'You're safe now.' 3 comforting words that Hetty was used to hearing throughout the years.
After coming home from Vietnam, her whole team kept reminding her that she was with family and surrounded by love instead of hate and neglect.
Now, she was constantly hearing it from Keane as she tried to get through day after harrowing day in Syria.
'Keane, I don't want to hear it today. This may be an underground base, but this is still a foreign country! How can any of us continue to think we're safe here?!' Hetty exclaimed.
'Because at this moment, this base is the safest place we got! Besides, you need the encouragement.' Keane replied.
'I don't need encouragement! What I need is to go home!'
Silence.
Deep Sigh. 'I'm sorry. You're so sweet, and I've had a bad day. I got shot at by some rude thug, and I'm just exhausted.' Hetty grumbled.
'Hey hey, it's okay. I get frustrated some days too. Just, try to remember that, in some way, we are pretty safe down here. It's not perfectly ideal, but it works for now.' Keane replied.
Hetty smiled. 'Thank you, Keane. It really does mean a lot to me that you're so patient with me.'
'No problem. You'd do the same with me.'
Then they hugged.
