Miyuki took a few moments to process this, before she glanced at Hikaru. "Then that would mean the other Chosen Digimon found their partners too. I wonder who the other Chosen are."

"We won't know for sure until we meet them." Hikaru replied, crouching down to be closer to Plotmon X.

Miyuki nodded. "True." She looked down at Dracomon, a question already in her mind.

Dracomon beat her to it, though. "Now you need to gain experience as quickly as possible in order to become stronger to beat Vamdemon. And to gain experience, you'll need to fight Vamdemon's various soldiers."

"How do we know who his soldiers are?" Miyuki asked, appearing a little anxious at the possibility of fighting multiple evil Digimon. Hikaru faked a cough, stifling a laugh, which caused Miyuki to give him a dirty look.

Dracomon chuckled once as well, but his expression turned serious. "You'll know. They'll come baying for your blood. Most of Vamdemon's army are Virus-attributed monsters."

"Virus attribute?" Miyuki tilted her head in confusion.

Dracomon nodded. "There are several different classes, per se, of Digimon. Vaccine-attributes, like your typical Tailmon. Data-attributes, like myself. Virus-attributes, like Devidramon. And the uncommon Free-attributes."

"Interesting to know."

"Yeah, it is interesting." Miyuki heard Hikaru say, before she turned to her Digimon partner again.

"What now?" She asked Dracomon, just as a breaking news report came on the television. She pushed the door a little. "Can I?" The question was directed at Hikaru. He nodded, giving permission, so she entered with Dracomon trailing behind her.

" In downtown Odaiba, one of the buildings has bad structural damage. But authorities can't ascertain why and are perplexed as it is a fairly new building that just got finished two months ago ."

Miyuki and Hikaru stared at each other. "There's our cue."

"There's our cue indeed." Dracomon nodded, a frown on his face as he watched the report. He was positive that this was the work of one of Vamdemon's soldiers.

Hmm… "Have we got a battle plan?" Miyuki wondered, in the moments after the report had finished. It seemed like the Digimon causing the damage, because that was all it could be really, was even bigger than the Flybeemon that had taken her hostage. Hikaru shook his head, Miyuki noticed, and that surprised her. He was normally able to come up with things on his own. Very odd.

"I've got one." Dracomon spoke up, when he realized Hikaru wasn't going to help. It was risky and put his partner potentially in the line of fire, but it was the only plan they had right now.

"Go on." Miyuki encouraged her partner as she leaned against the sofa.

She observed the small dragon exhale as if preparing himself. Before he started talking about the plan, Miyuki saw him stare directly at her, a guarded expression on his face. "This isn't going to be an easy battle, Miyuki. Not like Flybeemon. There are Digimon more powerful than him. Do you want to continue?"

Miyuki realized he was giving her a way out and shook her head, unaware of what consequences her tenacity would bring. "You said we need to get stronger in order to beat Vamdemon. There is no way I'm backing out of this if we want to keep Odaiba safe! Yes, I want to continue." She gave the firmest look she could muster.

"I was worried you would say that." Dracomon sighed, his smile not reaching his eyes. "Very well. We shall proceed with the battle plan."

"Which is what?" Miyuki responded.

She watched him turn a look on her. "I will evolve as a last resort, but Hikaru and Plotmon X will also help out in this battle. They will lure whichever Digimon it is away from the building and weaken it. I will then strike the finishing blow."

There was silence as both children processed this. "Wait a second." Miyuki heard Hikaru interrupt. "How are we going to help? I have no idea what Plotmon evolves into."

"No better time to find out than in a battle." Dracomon's answer was grim. "Digimon are all about survival of the fittest. You have to adapt to survive; it's called life, yeah?"

"You're sending us into a situation where we could die?! Are you serious?" Miyuki's voice rose in shock and horror. She couldn't believe Dracomon was suggesting this.

"I am dead serious." Dracomon stared back at his partner. This was the reality Digimon lived in the Digital World. Just because they had invaded the real world didn't change anything. "People get hurt here, don't they? It's similar in the Digital World, only much worse. Don't get cold feet now; you already committed to this battle."

Mentally, Miyuki was freaking out. She could get hurt or worse? Right, no backing out now .

"Alright, stop scaring her." Miyuki heard Hikaru bite out as he came over to her and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

"I'm trying… Never mind, she'll see soon enough." Dracomon stopped himself from what he was going to say and instead turned to the pair. "Come on then. Let's head out."

There was a pause before Miyuki and Hikaru followed, Plotmon X trailing behind them. As they made their way to downtown Odaiba, Miyuki discussed a strategy with her friend.

"We don't know what kind of Digimon is causing the destruction, so we'll have to be very careful." Miyuki watched Hikaru nod in agreement, before he got a contemplative look. She continued. "Also, in case the Digimon has backup, we should keep a distance away from our partners."

Dracomon was silent as he walked beside Miyuki, but he eventually spoke. "You raise some valid points, Miyuki. But keep in mind, the enemy can still come towards you."

"I know, Dracomon. I would have thought of that." Miyuki replied, glancing down at her Digimon partner with a forced smile. Truthfully, she was still very anxious about this fight. She had no idea how it was going to play out.

As they got closer to the area mentioned on the news report, Miyuki saw an almost completely black Digimon with a silver chest stomping around, firing random blasts at the damaged building.

"Oh dear." Miyuki heard Dracomon murmur so only they could hear. "That's DarkTyranomon. He's one of the forefront soldiers. What is his goal here?"

Miyuki glanced between the larger Digimon and Dracomon a few times, wondering what was going to happen. Should we stick to the plan? He might be too much for Hikaru and Plotmon X… She sighed, at the same time that Dracomon chose to inhale.

There was a moment's pause, before Miyuki heard Hikaru clear his throat. "Are we sticking to the plan, Dracomon?" Miyuki watched him prepare his Digivice, ready to send his partner into battle.

The small dragon nodded. "No deviating and keep an eye out for any backup."

Miyuki swallowed nervously. This was it. No backing out from the plan now. She had better ready up as well, believing that her partner would let her know when it was time for him to fight.

She observed Plotmon X evolve, her form changing from a small puppy-like Digimon to a bipedal feline whose cutesy demeanour and small size would cause her enemies to underestimate her.

"What is she now, Hikaru?" Miyuki asked her friend, finding herself in awe of the new Digimon.

"I'm Tailmon X." The new Digimon turned to Miyuki and introduced herself, bowing a little. Miyuki found the behaviour odd, but didn't say anything.

"Don't get distracted." Dracomon reminded, causing Miyuki to wince before she returned her gaze to DarkTyranomon as Tailmon X made her way up to the foe.

Miyuki watched as the Digimon began to fight, trading blows back and forth. DarkTyranomon seemed reluctant to use full strength. Heh…

Back and forth, Miyuki watched DarkTyranomon and TailmonX traded blows. They parried, blocked and counterstruck each other many times over. The fight was going by so quickly Miyuki couldn't believe her eyes.

Whoa . She was in disbelief at how much stronger Tailmon X was than her previous stage. The new Adult level was definitely holding her own in the battle and more.

Everything was going well so far, Miyuki decided as she looked over to Dracomon. She wondered when he would enter the fight. "When were you going to go over and help out?"

"Not just yet." Dracomon answered simply. "It's not time. I may not even need to. Tailmon X is holding her own quite well."

And then, it all went horribly wrong. A new Digimon, who Miyuki assumed was the backup, charged out of nowhere. He made several slices at Tailmon X with his sword, which forced her to evade in order to keep her life.

"Oh shit!" Dracomon straightened up and a swear word slipped out. "That's Musyamon! One of Phantomon's lieutenants! This is bad, this is very bad." The small dragon fretted, his eyes flicking all over the place as he tried to think up a new plan on the spot.

"Why is it bad?" Miyuki tentatively asked, seeing her partner's distress.

Dracomon stared at her, not saying anything for a long moment. "He must have recognized Tailmon X as a deserter and decided to finish her off personally."

Miyuki blinked, wide-eyed. "Oh… Yeah, that's bad." Her voice was quiet.

Neither Miyuki nor Dracomon knew how Musyamon detected them since they were further away than Tailmon X was but, suddenly, the swordsman stopped and looked in their direction.

"Don't question me, Miyuki. Just start running." Dracomon spoke under his breath.

"O-Okay." Miyuki turned and took off.

Miyuki didn't think her running would hold off Musyamon for long and she was proven right when he started after her.

"Don't you even think about touching her!" Tailmon X shouted as she raced after the swordsman, attacking him with everything she had, Miyuki noticed from glancing back once. The feline was blocking his path from getting to Miyuki and she smiled faintly.

Thank you, Tailmon X, but don't risk your life for mine . Miyuki thought as she kept moving. She wanted to try and put as much distance as she could between her and Musyamon, as she was pretty sure he wanted to harm her in some way.

"Tailmon X, hold him off for as long as you can!" Dracomon instructed, psyching himself up in preparation to evolve.

"Will do!" Miyuki heard her answer.

Keep running, just keep going . Miyuki repeated to herself as she kept moving away from the more immediate threat. How long would she last if she kept running like this? Why was he targeting her? There had to be a reason. She just didn't know what it was.

Eventually, it seemed like Musyamon had shoved Tailmon X aside and was in front of her now.

"Girl, I don't know how or why you have a Digimon partner, but I've been ordered to take you out of the picture. So I will follow my orders." The swordsman spoke with a guttural tone.

Miyuki was visibly shaking at the threat to her life. She couldn't move from fear. "Who is your master?" She squeaked out.

"I follow Lord Vamdemon, but my direct superior is Phantomon." With that said, his mouth formed a thin line and he raised his sword, preparing to strike.

"Get away from her!" Dracomon raged as he tried to get to her in time on the down swing of the sword.
