I know this is starting to look like a harem, and maybe it will have elements, but this is dark fanfic and will not end with Jakob having everyone in his bed. and living happily ever after.

Chapter 10. auctions and Egypt.

Jakob stood Infront of his mansion, watching the massive wooden doors open and walked inside, seeing Susie and Ella waiting for them.

While Susie walked, Ella ran and almost jumped into Jakob's arms, hugging him.

Susie Hugged Emma and asked how everything had been at school.

Thomas passed the members and headed inside, saying something about the office and not being disturbed.

Jakob, after a while, released himself from the grip the girl had made around his neck.

"You have grown said Ella with a questioning up-and-down stare at Jakob, which ended at his head.

"And your face has changed?

Jakob glanced at Emma and Susie, who knew why but both gave a smile, and Jakob looked back at Ella, who actually seemed to be a little shorter now that he thought about it.

"Well, that's what happens when you eat right and are good to your parents. You grow up."

The girl, turning eleven, looked at her master with a frown and crossed her arms.

After Jakob hugged Susie, they all went inside the big mansion, and Jakob went up to his room to unpack his things.

While he waved his wand, making his clothes levitate up and directed them into his dresser, he heard footsteps outside his door and the door opening.

" Jakob, I need you to stop, unpack and listen to me."

Jakob turned and saw his father walking in. A bit confused, knowing that his father usually called for him if he wanted something, Jakob gave him his fullest attention.

"When I learned that you had done well in school, I was pleasantly surprised. I will, however, expect that you turn those two e's that you have to o's in the coming year. I want to see that look on Lucius' face when he knows whose son is more successful." His father smirked.

Jakob nodded.

"Yes, father, and thank you."

Thomas gave his son an actual smiled and continued.

" But I have to admit that neither your sister nor even myself achieved those grades when we were first year, and to reward you for that and help you continue with this motivation you have found, you will accompany me to an auction this afternoon."

Jakob's eyebrows rose, and he smiled.

" what will you buy, father?"

Thomas smiled back and said.

"It's not for me. It's for you, son. But I won't tell you more than that."

The Quade head of house then turned around and walked out.

Jakob, about to continue unpacking, heard his door open again and saw his sister walk inside.

" I heard what father said, and I can't say I'm not jealous. What grades did you get?"

Jakob reached down and collected his paper, Handed it

to his sister, who frowned.

At Ilvermorny, we have A to F, where A is the highest. Is O the same at Hogwarts?

" Jakob nodded and watched his sister's surprised looked."

" Holy shit Jakob you are a nerd!"

Jakob rolled his eyes and tried to take his paperback, but Emma moved it away. Turning it over, she saw the top five list.

" Jakob, did you actually do it, or is everyone in your class an idiot?"

The boy laughed a little.

" You know what, I'm not actually sure" Emma smirked and handed the paper back to him.

"You know that you set the bar pretty high, and father will want to see improvements. Are you sure you can handle that?"

Jakob nodded.

" it was not that hard to get these grades, and if I just listen to madam hooch next year, I think I can turn that e to an o at least. I'm pretty good at flying, you know."

Emma nodded, hugging her little brother.

"It's good to have you back, nerd."

When she was about to walk out, she noticed another parchment with the word club.

The big sister moved almost too fast for Jakob to notice, grabbed it, and started to read.

"Jakob, what is this? are you going to be helping students twice a week? Why have you not told us, and who is Hermione Granger?"

Jakob took the parchment back and put it back in his back.

"she is just someone, no one important." Emma, who thought Jakob was hiding the girl's identity for some other reason, walked forward, putting an arm around his shoulder.

"Well, aren't you a charmer? First, you have That Frome girl, the Greengrass girl, and now you have found another one? Isn't my little brother popular?"

Jakob shrugged off his sister's arm and said.

"No, it's not like that... it's just-"

Granger... Granger... I don't know the name. Is her family from outside of the sacred twenty-eight?" interrupted Emma.

Jakob nodded.

"Yeh... she, um, her family come from someplace in Europe.

"Just like us then, but she does not sound German. You have to invite her someday. Father would be pleased to meet her parents if they originate close to our homeland."

Jakob nodded.

"Maybe one day. But please don't tell father about this. I'm not sure he could handle another Frome situation."

Emma nodded and gave him a wink.

"Of course, little brother."

The boy turned around and continued unpacking, and as his sister walked out, he breathed out, knowing that he had dodged a bullet.

If father met her, he would know who she was, and I would be cast out or worse...

Afternoon came around, and Jakob and his father stood ready to leave. Thomas nudged his son to step in the floo, and he did the same.

With a firm voice, The Quade head-of-house said.

"Knockturn alley."

Jakob, who looked a bit surprised, saw the flames engulf them, and when they calmed down, he was standing in a fire pit looking over a darker side of Diagon alley.

"Come on, son, follow me, and don't talk to anyone here.

There are more filths here than in Diagon alley.

As his father started to walk, Jakob followed him glancing around.

It was quiet this night. Only whispers were heard, and the loudest noise came from Thomas kain, who made a clicking noise while they walked forwards.

There were a lot of different Wizards, witches and other magical beings here, and they all looked at Thomas and himself as they passed them.

"Father, why are they all staring at us?" Whispered Jake.

Thomas looked at the mid-question boy and then looked over at the people he was referring to. When the Quade head of house locked eyes with the onlookers, they either turned their heads away or cowered.

"Because they know their betters and aren't used to seeing people like us walking the same street as them."

Jakob glanced at the people one more time as they walked into a house and saw that his father might be right.

The house they entered was a shop with books and other magical stuff.

Thomas walked forward, and Jakob saw that a head of a pixie was portraying on a spike. The interested boy looked closer and noticed that the severed head followed him with the eyes.

"Open it," said Jakob's father and the old man who was sitting on a stool behind a desk, reading the paper, looked up and bowed his head.

" Of courde lord Quade"

The relic wizard took out his wand and waved it towards the wall.

Jake saw the wall pushed in and then up, revealing a hidden entrance to a spiral staircase.

" Come, son," said Thomas and then proceeded inside, not waiting for his Jakob, who had to hurry behind.

When they had gone through the stairs, Jakob saw a room more luxurious than the shop above, having paintings of wizards and witches Jakob had never seen before.

He also noted that a lot of other people dressed much more Nicely than the people outside, and they were all sitting on rows of chairs pointed towards a wooden scene.

Jakob and his father took place further back, and while they sat down, Thomas whispered to his son.

" You will be getting a house elf today, and when you see one that you find interesting, you will whisper it to me, and I will do the rest, understood?"

Jakob nodded.

"There will be other things here that will be auctioned, and I trust you keep them to yourself and don't speak of this to your sister or Susie.

Jakob nodded, seeing a man getting on stage.

The man had a tall hat and almost as nice clothes as Jakob and his father was dressed in. But he was also overweight and looked like he could use some sleep.

" Welcome!" he said out loud, and the people sitting on the chairs that moments ago had been talking now sat silent, giving the man their fullest attention.

" Today, I have the honour to show you a new selection of wares I hope you will feel satisfied with. And without further ado, we will start this bidding with a house elf!"

Jakob looked on and saw what he believed a young house elf would look like.

"This Wizards and witches are house elf nr 4376. It is male and only 2 years old. They have been taught to do the basics and are eager to learn. Do I hear a starting price of 500 galleons?"

Jakob saw that people began raising their arms, and the man in the hat was talking faster, upping the price. The only boy in the room looked on, confused and excited as he saw hands raising and in the end, it was a witch that looked similar to Narcissa that won the scared creature.

"Ah, sold for 2500 galleons gratulations. You may collect your price, madam."

The woman walked up, collected her price and walked out of the room.

" That was a good elf boy. Why did you not want it?"

" Because father, I don't have time to train it while I'm at Hogwarts, and I don't think Susie will be pleased if I leave that burden on her."

His father scoffed but did not say anything more.

"Next up, we have this book, handwritten by the Dark Lord Grindelwald himself. It's said to hold the personal spells that he was working on. I will start the bidding of this marvellous book by 800 galleons."

Jakob looked on and, in the end, won an older man the book for 4000 galleons.

Jake's eyes widened as he saw the next thing being auctioned away.

A boy in rags and dirty brown hair strolled to the stage, looking his age.

"This, ladies and gentlemen, is a mudblood. Ran away from the orphanage and into the arms of us."

People in the audience started to chuckle, and the man in the top hat continued.

The boy doesn't have a wand and has not been taught any magic, so if you want him to learn that, you have to sort that yourself. Well, let's start the bidding at 250 galleons.

Jakob, who took a glance at his father, whispered quietly.

"Father, what will happen to him?"

Thomas ignored the boy, and Jakob watched as the slave boy looked on with teary eyes while the people in the crowd raised their hands.

"Sold to the gentleman in the back!"

Jakob watched as an older fat man walked up and then took out his wand, conjuring a leach that he proceeded to yank the boy down with and walked out of the room.

As the bidding continued, Jakob saw many different things being auctioned. Books, types of furniture, cursed objects and even wands were sold to the highest bidder. He did not see any more children. That will give me nightmares, he thought.

Then came the thing that Jakob had been waiting for.

" Here we have a house elf named 4234. It's a female and five years of age. Its former master has just passed away, so it has not received clothes. Making this exemplar an unspoiled diamond."

Jakob whispered to his father, and Thomas, who looked at the female elf, observed her and nodded his approval.

"Starting price will begin at 1000 galleons."

Thomas raised his wand, and when people saw that he had put out the bid, most looked like they knew they weren't going to win.

However, one man did not seem to care, and the bidding began. Thomas raised his wand every time the older man that sat a few roads before him raised it, and in the end, Thomas won, but it cost him 3000galleons.

" Well, the winner can come and collect his reward." said the man on the stage.

Jakob got a nudge from his father, stood up, walked forward, and looked at the shaking elf before him.

He gave the shaking elf a smile and reached out his hand for her to grab, which she did, and they, together with Thomas, walked out of the room.

While they stood outside, his father was showing signs of irritation.

" Father, what's wrong?"

His father did not look at his son, that stood with himself but answered.

"That man should know better than to bid against me." Hissed Thomas.

Almost like it was foretold, the old man and the rest of the people walked outside, and Thomas told Jakob to wait there with his newly acquired house elf.

The older man rounded a corner, and Jakob's father followed him.

When they were out of sight, Jakob heard his father's voice and then the strangers who yelled for help. A bright green light lightened up the alley, and Jakob knew what his father had just done.

Thomas walked back, putting his wand back into his robes and grabbed Jakob's hand, and they all apparated home.

When they stood outside the gate, Thomas looked down on his son, who he was surprised to see did not seem shocked or fearful.

" If we let people disrespect the name that we hold just a little, they will all soon feast on our remains, my son. They are only Scum, filths trying to take what is ours. Let this be a lesson for you, son."

Before he could continue, his son said something that pleasantly surprised the old man with a Ferm tone.

" If someone tries to take what is mine, I will see that they regret it before I destroy them and everything they care about."

Thomas looked stunned at what he had witnessed. His son finally sounded more like himself.

He got lower to Jakob's height and put an arm on his shoulder.

"That's right. If you stay true to those words, I will one day die knowing that my house is in good hands."

Thomas released him, and they walked inside the Quade manor.

Susie was unhappy knowing that a house elf would be working alongside her.

Thomas had told her that she could use the extra hands now that Ella was going to Hogwarts. Susie had agreed but still shot glares at the scared little house elf.

Later that evening, Jakob was in his room with Ella and his new member.

The house elf had gotten new elf clothes to borrow, and the creature now wore a black dress with the family crest on.

" What are you going to name her?"

Asked Ella, who was sitting in the bed playing exploding snap with the elf.

Jakob looked back, a little baffled.

" Right, a name. How could I have forgotten that" he said to himself like an idiot.

The elf looked back at him, now interested in what name her new master would give her.

" Hmm… how about... Feemey?" said Jakob glancing at the elf and Ella.

The elf said her new name out loud with a smile, and Ella looked like she agreed with the name.

" Good then, Feemey, it is," said Jakob nodding in satisfaction.

" Feemey, while we are at home, you will listen to what Susie says. She will decide what chores you will be doing."

The house elf nodded, making her ears flap.

"And when you are not needed for anything, you can either do something you enjoy or find something to do."

" Feemey like to work master Jakob. So if Feemey is not needed, she will find something that needs to be done."

Jakob nodded, left the two to continue their play, and walked to his father's office.

When he stood Infront of it, he knocked three times and waited.

The doors opened, and Jakob saw his father sitting on his seat reading papers.

"Come," said Thomas, not looking up.

Jakob, who believed his father would tell him not to disturb and go away, walked inside, trying his best to hide the surprise that he was let in a second time.

" Father, I have two questions I would like to ask."

His father looked up, and when he did not respond, Jakob continued taking it as if he was waiting.

" Father, I wanted to know if you have spoken to Emma about-"

"The Frome girl, yes, and I have already decided on a meeting.

The head of house and miss Frome will visit at the end of summer."

Jacob gave a slight nod.

" Thank you, father. The second question relates to the house of Parkinson, who has invited me to go to Egypt with them for two weeks."

"When is that?" asked Thomas."

" She did not mention a date, so I presume Pansy awaits an answer from me and if I'm available."

Thomas chuckled.

"That girl had her family between her fingers. A good lass."

Jakob waited for his father to answer.

" If I let you go, boy, you will be representing the Quade family not only to the Parkinsons but to the rest of Egypt as well. I have good relations with Percival, so it must stay that way."

Jakob nodded.

"I will owl her father and will see to the preparation, but I expect that you do well and study the Egyptian magic while you are there and don't just play around. You are beginning to grow up, Jakob, and with the ritual, you are already maturing faster than the rest of your peers."

" yes, I have e noticed that, father."

Thomas gestured for him to continue.

" Well, I've noticed that I'm taller than many of the other students, and I have been getting more stamina and muscles. There have also been…."

Jakob looked away, regretting what he was about to say.

" what boy?" Said his father suspiciously.

" Well, I've noticed that my temper has been changing more rapidly and when I'm close to some of the students, I get this feeling or... I don't really know."

" what do you mean, boy? What sense are you feeling? Danger? To whom?" said Thomas leaning in.

Jakob shook his head.

" No, it's not like that. It's almost the opposite, and I... it when I'm near girls."

Thomas had wide eyes, and then the bearded man started to laugh.

It was the most enormous laugh Jakob had ever heard his father laugh.

Thomas calmed down after a while and dried his eyes, which began to tear up.

He conjured a seat that Jakob sat down on.

" You little shit, I thought you were being cursed." his father said, still chuckling.

" You are starting to become a man, my son. And sooner than normal because of the ritual. Your feelings are normal, and they will increase with time."

" Increase?" said Jakob shocked.

" Yes, you will feel your mood change, and your emotions become stronger, a lot stronger. And you will notice that females exist and might be tempted to.. get to know them better."

Jakob had no idea what tempted to know them better was meaning but did not interrupt his father. Maybe it's what I saw happen between that boy and blonde girl in the classroom? Thought Jakob.

"But it's important that you, the heir of Quade's ancient and noble house, control these emotions. And don't act impulsive."

"Father, you said that everything would be stronger. Will this end, or is this something I need to live with for the rest of my life?"

Thomas laughed again, not as hard, but something was showing in his eyes. Like a memory of past times.

" No, they will calm down when you are fully grown and maybe sooner if you are lucky. The important thing to know is that this is normal, and your friends are experiencing the same but maybe not as much right now as you."

Jakob nodded and got up from the chair.

" Thank you, father, it was very enlightening."

Thomas nodded and returned to his paperwork, signalling to Jakob that this meeting was over.

As Jakob walked out, he thought about something. So my emotions will be stronger. Does that mean my magic will be, too, if I learn more about how to use them to fuel my magic?

That night and every other night, Jakob felt that the ritual had done something. He never felt rested with his roommate so far away, and some nights he could only describe the feeling like an itching spot on his back that could not be reached, but in his mind.

As Jakob promised, he sent an owl to Pansy, who responded a few days later, telling him how excited she was that they were going.

Thomas and Pansy's father, Percival, had decided they would go a week from now. And that Jakob would floo to Parkinson's one day before.

When that day arrived, Jakob stood ready with his bags, and his family members wished him luck.

"it's lucky for you that I will start Hogwarts this year, or I would never let you leave said Ella, in a sour mood.

" Well, if you go to Gryffindor, we will probably not see each other until summer anyways, so who knows,"

said Jakob, and before he got blinded by the green flames, he saw the girl glaring back at him mouthing.

"You wish".

When the flames disappeared stood pansy, her mother, the head of the house, and Pansy's father. Waiting for him.

Jakob walked out and noted that their floo room was smaller in size but felt more homely, which he quite liked.

" Welcome, heir Quade. When I saw you last, you looked much younger said Percival and shook his hand.

" You have grown, boy. You look like you are a young teenager."

Jakob shrugged and greeted back.

"It's a privilege and an honour to be able to visit you, Mr Parkinson.

And I try my best to eat my vegetables." said Jakob and got a chuckle from the head of house.

Next stepped Amaryllis forth and greeted the young boy.

"It's so good to see you again, dear, but I must agree with my husband. You have grown quite a bit since this Christmas when I saw you last."

Jakob greeted back.

Then Pansy, looking at Jakob, walked forward and hugged him.

She did not say anything, but in that hug, Jakob felt he had found a puzzle piece he did not know he was missing.

When the boy realised they were being studied, he turned and saw Mr and Mrs Parkinson smile warmly at them, and Jakob felt a blush creep up.

Mum, I'm going to give Jakob a tour. Will you tell Scoopy to find us when dinner is ready?

Her mother nodded and looked as the girl took Jakobs and walked out of the room.

" Honey, isn't pansy infatuated with the Malfoy heir anymore?"

questioned Mr Parkinson.

" Yes, dear," her mother said, watching the door close.

" Pansy told me that Draco still is her future but that she has found Jakob to be one of her closest friends this year."

" Were we like that at her age?" asked Percival.

" No, dear, we were not. Said the mother.

Pansy showed Jakob his room which was two doors down from her own.

" Do you need to pack up anything?"

Asked pansy sitting on his king-sized bed while Jakob studied the different things in the comfortable guest bedroom.

" No, were are leaving early tomorrow, so I only need to change before we leave." Said Jakob while he studied s large painting that depicted one of their summer houses in Spain.

I'm happy that you are finally here, Jake." it's been so boring being alone here with just mum and dad. Sure I have friends here, but they seem so childish now. "

Jakob smiled and sat beside her on the bed.

"Pansy, I'm happy to, but I need to ask you something. Can you try to describe the feeling you have had now that we have been apart for a time?"

Pansy frowned at the question.

" Why would you want to know?"

" I'm curious."

Pansy sighed and wondered for a moment, trying to put a word on it.

"It's like I have not felt whole and more irritated than usual."

"And how do you feel now that I'm here?" asked the boy, trying not to look like she was a test animal.

" Now I feel great, actually." said the girl looking a bit confused about it.

" I don't feel that at all." Pansy then waved her hand, dismissing the conversation.

"Whatever, We need to get going if I'm going to be able to show you everything."

Said the black-haired girl and rose up, retaking his hand like that was the most natural thing in the world. Yep, it's the ritual, and I have no idea what to do.

Pansy showed him around their mansion, which had a lot of rooms.

She showed him to the different guest rooms, the living rooms, and their kitchen, where they got s sandwich from the family house-elf, Scoopy.

"I recently got a house-elf," said Jakob while taking a bite.

Both Scoopy and Pansy looked his way.

" You mean your father got a house-elf, right?" asked pansy.

" no, no, I got one," said Jakob proudly.

"I got to follow with my father when we bought one. I got it for my grades and a motivation to keep up the excellent work."

Pansy crossed her arms.

" How come I don't believe you. Do you know how expensive the paperwork for owning a house elf is, and the ministry does not just give it to you. There is a line."

Jakob nodded." I know, but father made it happen anyways."

" I doubt that. So I will need to see some proof."

Jakob looked at the house-elf.

" Can you ask Mr Parkinson if it's okay for me to show pansy my house elf and let it through the wards?"

The house elf popped away, and while he was away, Jakob continued eating his sandwich, looking at Pansy with a smirk.

Then a pop was heard, and the house elf returned.

" Master has lowered the wards temporarily for the house-elf to pass."

"Feemey?"

A pop sound was heard.

The house elf took a bow before Jakob and pansy looked at the little creature that bore the black dress with the crest on it.

" Yes, master, you called for Feemey?"

" Yes, this is my very good friend, pansy Parkinson."

Jakob gestured to pansy, who looked a little shocked at the lovely dress the elf was wearing, and so did Scoopy observing the clothing with s hint of jealousy.

The elf turned and took a curtsey.

" House-elf, who is your master? And I don't mean what family. Who is the owner of you?"

Feemey looked a little confused at Jakob, who nodded.

" Feemey is purchased and is owned by master Jakob Quade."

" So you are not owned by Lord Quade asked pansy, releasing her crossed arms and letting them fall beside her body."

" No, feemey is property of master Jakob Quade and no one else."

Thank you, feemey, that is all," said Jakob. A pop was heard, and the elf had disappeared.

" How to Bloody hell are you so lucky to have a house elf of your own?" Pansy almost yelled.

Jakob shrugged.

"I won't be able to use her in Hogwarts, though. The wards won't allow it, so she will help at home in the meantime."

When pansy had let the shock pass, she had almost had that same proud look on her face as when she had seen Jakob's grades.

And then she showed the rest of the estate.

When it was dinner time, they all sat down to eat.

"I hope the dinner is enjoyable, Mr Quade. I had pansy tell me what you enjoyed," said Mrs Parkinsson. Jakob nodded while he looked at the different dishes and felt his appetite spiking.

"Thank you, Mrs Parkinson I don't even Hogwarts can compare to what you have achieved this evening."

The mother chuckled and, inwards, felt relieved that he liked it.

While they are they discussed the different things they were going to see in Egypt.

Pansy wanted to see the Pyramids and the treasures that were within.

Mr Parkinson wanted to see the mummies and the different curses that ancient Egypt was famous for.

Mrs Parkinson wanted to have a relaxing time in the sun, and when they asked Jakob what he wanted to see, he thought for a moment.

"I guess I want to see everything. But I hope I can find something forgotten."

" What do you mean by forgotten ?" asked pansy, a little confused.

" I think what Mr Quade means is that he hopes to find something that no one has any knowledge about anymore, making it very valuable."

Jakob nodded.

" But what would that be? Asked pansy, Jakob.

"Might be a book or maybe an object with some ancient charm that no one uses anymore." shrugged the boy.

Pansy raised an eyebrow and agreed that that would be awesome.

When they had eaten, pansy showed Jakob to their library, where she knew he would stay until bedtime, and they did.

When Pansy's mother later came to say that it was time to sleep, they nodded and got ready.

Jakob lay in his bed and looked up at the ceiling. It was almost like being back at Hogwarts, sleeping closer to pansy again but unable to see her. It felt like a slight itch.

"It's not worse being like this than when I am at home, at least," whispered Jakob and turned around in his bed, trying to find some rest.

A small light was slowly lighting up the wall that he faced. The wide-awake boy turned to see his roommate sneaking in wearing her pyjamas.

"Jake, are you asleep?" the girl whispered, tiptoeing in and closing the door, trying hard not to make it sound.

"Pansy, what are you doing here?" asked Jakob.

Pansy tiptoed to his bed and stood there holding her arms, almost ashamed.

"It's just that I can't sleep, and when we are at school, I don't have that problem, so…."

" Are you crazy? If your parents find out, they will cancel the trip"

Pansy crossed her arm, annoyed.

"I know my parents, and I will wake up and return to my room before they even wake."

Jakob sighed as he knew the girl's stubbornness would win in the end.

Jakob moved to the other side, and pansy got in under the covers.

They looked at each other for a while, feeling like something was right again, and then pansy whispered.

" Umm. Jakob, I would appreciate it if you did not say this to Draco. I don't think he would understand, and he might get sad if he knew." whispered pansy.

Jakob rolled his eyes.

" What?" asked pansy with a slightly higher whisper.

"Nothing said, Jakob. I won't tell him, and I couldn't even if I wanted to.

I can betray you remember?"

Pansy understood what he meant and smiled and closed her eyes.

" You know this is even better than Hogwarts," she whispered, and Jakob, who had closed his eyes, felt a hand reaching for his, and soon they had fallen asleep.

When Jakob woke up that morning, he was alone in his bed.

" She actually did it," he said groggily and went up and looked himself in the mirror.

He took a good look at His now 12-year-old body.

He noticed that he had started to build some muscles for an unknown reason.

He saw that the childlike face had made some sharper edges around the jawline, and he looked taller.

"It's a bit creepy", he whispered.

Jakob. Who looked at himself in the mirror every day had not really noticed that changes were happening to him.

Even if this only were the beginning of the maturity part felt like he was in a stranger's body now that so many had pointed it out to him.

Jakob proceeded to get dressed, fix his hair and brush his teeth in the guest bathroom. A knock on the door was heard, and Jakob opened it, saying good morning to a happy and energic Pansy.

" Sleep well?" she said as she walked inside, sitting down on the toilet lid.

Jakob gave her an oh really look and spit out the toothpaste.

" Terrible, someone or something made these snoring sounds all night."

Pansy got up, copied the look Jakob had just given and slapped him gently on the shoulder.

" Come on, we are going to get breakfast before leaving."

They all sat down and ate breakfast and talked about today's plans.

They would first arrive at the hotel they would be staying in, and after they had packed up everything, they would go sightseeing, looking at the museum that was said to show different types of magical items once owned by the pharaoh.

"It's funny that those muggles think he was some god. When he was a wizard." laughed Pansy.

" Yes, dear, but he showed us something that I believe we have forgotten in the wizarding world," said Mr Parkinson.

" What's that, dad?" asked pansy, still giggling.

" He showed us how a world would look like if it was like it should be. Muggles Bowing to Wizards. They might see him as a god, but he and his lineage did a great thing for Egypt. Yes, some muggles died when creating the masterpieces of magic, but I would do that sacrifice again if it meant that this world would return to how it was."

After breakfast, they all got up and grabbed their bags.

They then took the floo to the ministry of magic, and when they had got their international portkey, they took off, leaving great Britain behind for two weeks.

When they arrived in Cairo, they noticed the weather was much warmer. Jakob felt like he was hit and was taking one extra breath. he had prepared for this but sensing the change in a blink of a second was something to behold.

"It's bloody warm!" said pansy and had to sit down while Mr Parkinson checked them in.

Jakob looked around and saw that wizards and witches from around the world were there and looked at two blonde people discussing something.

He couldn't understand what they were saying but hearing the man say,

"jag kan inte fatta vart jag la min trollstav." it made him believe that it wasn't something good.

When Percival came back, he had three keys with him.

"This one is for you, and this one is for you," he said while giving the keys to Jakob and pansy.

"I got 123 said Pansy looking at Jakob, who looked down at his own.

" I got 122 said the boy."

" Perfect, then why don't we all go upstairs, unpack, and dress for the weather? Do both of you know the cooling charm?"

While Pansy said, no Jakob said yes.

"Good. Then you can explain it to her if you manage to get ready before us."

Mrs Parkinson smirked at Mr Parkinson and whispered something in his ear.

Mr Parkinson then hurried to point the way to their corridor while the two parents took the stroll to another passage down the hall.

" What was that about? Asked the confused Slytherin boy.

" They do that sometimes Said Pansy frowning."

They picked up their bags and went down to their doors.

When Jakob came to his door, he said that he would come over when he was done, which Pansy nodded to, and he walked inside his room.

He noticed the balcony with no doors was right in front of him.

The room seemed a bit colder, and he suspected a cooling charm.

The balcony had a thin white fabric that was swaying like some sort of curtain.

He looked to his left and caught a bathroom with a bathtub and a shower.

" Luxurious," he declared, letting go of his luggage and walking inside the bathroom.

There was a toilet and a sink in front of it. A mirror with a golden frame hung over it. Jakob then turned and walked back into his main room.

There were a dresser and a bed but not as big as he was used to. It was not as small as Hogwarts bed but not far from it. Saw that there were a pillow and a bar of chocolate on the bed but no blankets.

There was, however, a white fabric there that he guessed would be enough to make it pleasant.

He then got his clothes into his dresser and took on his white linen shirt and a matching pair of shorts.

He switched out his usual shoes for a pair of flip-flops and put on his shades, which had a charm on them to zoom in like binoculars but as effective.

Jakob looked at himself in the mirror and thought he looked pretty good and then went out from his room to pansy's and knocked.

" One minute, I'm changing!"

Jakob waited, and a moment later, she opened the door.

She had a pair of shades, and her bang touched the top of them.

She wore a short dress and a pair of sandals that were the same white colour as the dress.

" Humph…" said Jakob looking at her clothes.

" What? What is it?" said pansy looking down at her dress to see if something was wrong."

" We have the same colour."

Pansy breathed a sigh of relief while rolling her eyes. Get in here, she said, and when Jakob entered, she closed the door.

" your room looks just like mine," said Jake, even noticing that the bathroom looked the same.

"I think all the rooms in this corridor look the same. But it's nice here, right?"

Jakob smiled back at her.

"It's perfect."

Jakob learned pansy the cooling charm and made sure they had water bottles with them as they walked out on the balcony.

They sat in the sun. Having the cooling charm on made 40 Celcius not as bad.

After a while of sitting and commenting, people that walked on the street, the pair heard Pansy's parents knocking on her door. Both Slytherins took a quick look in the mirror and were off on their first visit to Egypt. The museum.

The day had been fun, thought Jakob when he got to bed and heard the people outside talking.

The museum had been a place of wonder, and he had seen what was believed to be the pharos's wand.

He had wanted to try it, but being a museum, he wasn't allowed to do that.

They had eaten some Egyptian food, and Jakob had chosen something called koshsri. Pansy had picked something called falafel; both felt full enough and did not eat any dessert.

Now that Jakob lay there in bed, having only a pair of pyjamas-shorts. The heat made sleeping harder, so Jakob lay sprawled out on his bed. He looked over to his nightstand where his black wand was lying, hoping that he could learn some spells soon that could help him grow.

He heard a faint knock on the door and e frowned.

" Don't tell me?" he said, getting up from bed and opening the door.

With her gaze on the corridor, Pansy turned towards him and got inside like she was being followed.

" Pansy, it's too hot, and the bed is too small to take us both, and for Merlin's sake, your Bloody parent!" Jakob's voice which had been calm from the start, hissed out the last words.

The girl who wore a Nightdressed and shorts shrugged.

" I will be out before they even wake, and I need this, Jake. Don't you sleep better when we are closer?"

"Pansy, I'm not like one of your girlfriends. I'm a boy, and it's not that I'm... I…."

Pansy had already laid down, and Jacob knew he would have to start looking for the mistake he had made.

He got into bed, and they turned to each other.

" Jake?"

" Yes?"

" Goodnight."

" Goodnight, Pansy."

As the days passed, they visited different places, and one mainly took Jakob's interest.

He had walked with pansy while her parents were shopping elsewhere, and they had walked into a store that looked old and even a bit damaged.

The store clerk had seen their expensive clothes and tried his best to show pansy a few of the things he was selling.

The girl was not interested and had quite rudely explained it and told Jakob that she was going to wait outside.

Jakob checked through the different things but was not really impressed.

Then when he went to the bookshelf, he saw a book.

The book had a snake, and Jakob knew it was a native cobra slithering around a word on its cover.

Parseltongue.

Jakob had taken the book to the clerk and asked how much he wanted for it.

The man behind the desk chuckled a little, asking in a heavy accent if the boy even knew what the book said.

When Jakob frowned at him, thinking that he was insulting his reading capabilities, the man raised his hands and said that the book costed

2855 Egyptian pounds, which Jakob calculated became 25 galleons.

"Too much. I can give you 10 galleons."

The clerk looked at the boy and laughed.

" no, give me 20, and we have a deal."

" 13."

" 15."

" Fine, 15 galleons, but then I want that necklace too," Jakob pointed to a necklace lying in a heap on one of the bookshelves gathering dust. The clerk shrugged.

" Fine, take it. It's nothing."

Jakob took up the necklace that was of silver and had a crystal stone that had a purple glow to it.

While walking outside, he met up with Pansy, who had bought two ice creams.

While they sat on s bench, Pansy studied the book Jakob held near his right side.

"What is that?"

"It's a book about parse tough. Seeing as we are Slytherins, I thought it could be a fun read," said Jakob taking a lick at his ice cream.

Pansy took the book and looked at the cover, and frowned. She then opened it and looked at the pages.

This is utter nonsense. How are you going to read this?

Jakob took the book back.

"How do you even know that it's parseltongue? Did the creepy clerk tell you that?"

Jakob raised his eyebrow.

" It says so on the cover, idiot."

Pansy frowned at him.

" Don't call me an idiot when you are the idiot. Its only symbols that are impossible to read."

Jakob looked down at the book and then at pansy.

"You are joking, right? It says here." Jakob read out loud as he pointed at the cover with his finger.

"Parseltongue".

Pansy observed him.

"You aren't Joking, right? Because honestly, you are starting to scare me, Jake. It's not funny."

Jakob, who saw the girl getting more uncomfortable, understood that Pansy had told the truth and did not know the language in the book.

Jakob opened the book and said to Pansy.

" Describe to me what you see here. If you see symbols, describe them to me."

Pansy looked confused but did what she was told and took the book.

"Okey. This one is like a slithering line in the middle and then another making a sort of circle at the top."

"Spells," said Jakob automatically, and they looked at each other.

" Holy shit, you are a parselmouth?" said pansy in almost a yell and stood up.

The shock, combined with the hot weather, made the Slytherin girl first see stars and then feel the embrace of her roommate while she heard him say.

" Pansy? Pansy!"

Authors Note 2: Next chapter will be e good one. Next chapter, we will see something that I have never read in fanfic before, and I hope you all like it.

And a little background to the auction that you read about.

Knockturn alley in my au world is like the feeling you got when you first saw knock-turn alley in the movies. I want to get that feeling back and enhance it. Being magical has its perks, but people be people, and not everyone is good. And this is, like I said before, a dark au fanfic and will become darker with time.
