Chapter 64: Teyvat Arc: Omnipresence Over Mortals, Part Three
A few days before Gorou returned to Sangonomiya Shrine...
"Mitsuko-sensei, we have a fatality!" Shouji brought in a dead war veteran, Ryuta, into the medical tent; the silver-haired man was bleeding black blood from his nostrils and ears.
"Get him onto the autopsy table, now!" Mitsuko ordered, sterilizing her autopsy utensils and pulling on her operation gloves. "What in the world..." she frowned, instantly spotting the wisps of dark miasma within Ryuta's blood vessels. Draining the corpse's blood, she gathered the black blood into a glass flask and corked it for further testing.
A few hours later, her autopsy was done and she wrote up her report.
Over the next two days, several corpses exhibiting similar symptoms showed up on the doctor's autopsy table, allowing Mitsuko to discover the real cause of death.
In the General's tent later...
"Deadly contamination from the Tatarigami curse?" Gorou echoed, glancing thought Mitsuko's latest autopsy report. "But how..."
"The Delusions." Mitsuko concluded. "From what the Traveler diverged, Fatui Delusions are created from the remains of ancient gods and other powerful entities."
"Crystal Marrow..." Gorou hissed in realization. "You've been pulling all-nighters for three consecutive days, Mitsuko. Take the day off; don't make me have Kazuha to stand guard outside your sleeping quarters."
"You aren't that heartless." Mitsuko joked, stifling a yawn. "I'm off."
About three hours later...
Mitsuko awoke from her nap to an uncomfortable bloatedness in her stomach and a rapid heat rising from her lower regions. "Damnit..." she hissed, knowing what was happening to her body. "Did knowing about the depths of Fatui interference trigger my heat early?"
Quickly scribbling a note, she sent for Hisahiko to deliver the note before making preparations to enter the Heat Tent.
Mitsuko barely managed to make her way into the Heat Tent and activate the silencing runes that were placed around it. Gathering the fluffy pillows and cushions Gorou had placed back after his rut, the burning up Nekomata, now stripped down to her hanjuban, built a woolly nest to weather her heat in.
"Aaaaah..." Mitsuko quietly moaned, burying her face in the pillows to muffle out her lusty groans. "Cumming..." she reached her climax, thrusting the glass dildo's full length into her pussy. "Not enough..." her hand stilled from the intense simulation.
That was the situation Kazuha walked into; Gorou had informed him about Mitsuko's premature heat period and the worried ronin dashed to the Heat Tent, completely ignoring the Inu hybrid's shouted warnings. The Kaedehara samurai flushed, his crimson eyes trailing over Mitsuko's unbound hair, to the loosened hanjuban on her body, then to the assorted toys and a nearly empty tube of cyro slime lube scattered on around the pillow nest. Resealing the Heat Tent, he removed his trinkets, his plate armor and his haori. Left only in his short-sleeved kimono and hakama pants, he removed his sandals and positioned himself above the writhing woman.
"Kazu..." Mitsuko whimpered, her heightened sense of smell took in the familiar scent of maple leaves. "You shouldn't... oh Archons..." she whispered, Kazuha was planting butterfly kisses on the back of her neck. "Be here... ah..." she panted, arching her back when Kazuha's left hand pressed against her dripping pussy.
"Nightingale, let me help you with this." Kazuha mumbled into the younger woman's neck. "Turn around, Nightingale. I want to see you."
The panting woman merely nodded and twisted her body around.
The sight of her heaving breasts caused Kazuha's usually contained self-control to snap; with a swift move, he pinned the breathless youkai onto the fluffy nest and gave her a hungry kiss.
Mitsuko hungrily reciprocated the kiss, yearning for more of his heated touches. "Kazu... more... please." she squirmed in between his nips across her naked body, the hanjuban had long been removed from her body. Reaching up, she tugged his ponytail free, causing his chest-length hair to fall over his shoulders.
"You really do have a sensitive body..." Kazuha muttered, sucking her flushed skin. Teasingly slowly, he inserted his index and middle fingers into her soaked pussy. The feeling of her incredibly soft and tender skin yet dripping wet with him just inserting his fingers had him harden even more.
Mitsuko let out a surprised squeal when she felt Kazuha gently stroke her clit. "Kazu... don't stop..." she whined breathlessly, unable to stop her own sweet moans.
"I don't intend to." Kazuha whispered, thrusting his fingers in her with increasing pressure.
"Cumming..." Mitsuko choked. "Cumming!" she wailed, her inner walls tightening her lover's fingers.
"Will this be your first time?" Kazuha asked quietly, quickly divesting himself of the remaining of his clothes.
"You would think so, wouldn't you?" Mitsuko answered, coming back from her high.
"Him, huh?" Kazuha mused, guessing Zhongli had been her first. "May I?" he nuzzled her neck, his erection pressed against her pussy.
"Please..." Mitsuko pleaded.
"Tell me to stop if it's too much." Kazuha whispered, lifting her waist in his arms and entered her with one thrust.
Mitsuko felt wonderful; her previous heat sessions with Zhongli had always been rough, with him being the Geo Archon and all. Kazuha, on the other hand, while not having Zhongli's girth, was gentle, his cock was rubbing against her sensitive spots over and over.
Kazuha lowered his head to smother the moaning woman beneath him with a kiss as he pulled his hips back and then thrust back in.
Mitsuko couldn't help but let out a series of pleasured moans as Kazuha continued to thrust relentlessly in and out of her. "Kazu... not fair..." she whined, the red-eyed male was rubbing her clit as he continued thrusting. "Kazu... inside..." she begged, feeling herself reaching her climax.
"You sure?" Kazuha asked breathlessly, still buried inside her.
"I always take a contraceptive potion every month to regulate my cycles." Mitsuko answered.
"Alright then..." with one final thrust, Kazuha released his seed inside her, painting her insides white. "You alright?" he asked, pulling himself out.
"More than alright." Mitsuko regained her breath. "Although..." she grinned impishly at her lover. "Once isn't enough."
Kazuha bit back a tired moan; it's going to be a long day.
Several hours later found Mitsuko snuggled contentedly against Kazuha's chest. "This thing between us…" the young woman started. "Isn't going to affect our working relationship, right?"
"Whoever said we are merely colleagues?" Kazuha nuzzled her neck. "I don't care if you're already betrothed. I'm willing to share."
"About that, Kazuha." Mitsuko sat up. "There's something you need to know about Zhongli." She then revealed that her fiancé was the human vessel of Rex Lapis and one of his contract clauses with Celestia ever since the Archon War stipulated that any of his offspring must be male.
"And since you Nekomata are matriarchal by nature, you need a second partner to give you a female heir." Kazuha guessed.
"Hmmm..." Mitsuko hummed, her fingers tracing over the threaded life-band on Kazuha's left wrist. "Do you know what this is?" she asked.
"I recall you putting it on me when we were nine." Kazuha responded. "But you didn't elaborate what it was."
"This is what us Nekomata call the 'Life-Band'." Mitsuko replied, playing with the small pinkish nyoihōju bead the bracelet was threaded through. "Braided using our hair strands and specially blessed red thread, it represents our lifeline. When this 'Life-Band' breaks into two, it means my life has come to an end."
Back at present...
"How is Teppei's condition, Traveler?" Kokomi asked.
"How could none of us have noticed?" the Traveler moaned.
"I have put out the order to seize all Delusions." Kokomi stated. "The vast majority are showing some loss of vitality, but nothing serious. Sadly, a few have been... less fortunate: Mitsuko's autopsies clearly indicated mass amounts of Tatarigami miasma within the corpses' internal organs."
"The soldiers are up in arms about the ban though." Gorou pointed out. "They know full well what a Delusion is; despite knowing the autopsy results, they still intend to keep using them."
"I'll leave you to deal with this situation." Kokomi instructed. "I have to get to the front line. This whole fiasco is certain to be a blow to morale. If the Shogun's Army attacks now, while we're scrambling to recover, it could well undo everything we have achieved so far. Traveler, what are your thoughts?"
"I'll go confront the Fatui directly." the Traveler insisted.
"No, it's too dangerous!" Kokomi protested. "The Sakoku Decree is still in force, so their Delusions must be produced within Inazuma's borders. To organize an operation of this scale, they will have had to mobilize a huge amount of manpower and resources. They can't have done it without local support. If we want to stop them, we have to destroy the factory where the Delusions are made. But it's sure to be heavily guarded. It's dangerous to go alone. At least take some troops with you."
"There's no time for that." the Traveler urged.
"Your Excellency, given the urgency of the situation, we were hardly discreet when confiscating the Delusions." Gorou argued. "The Fatui are sure to take notice. If we spend any longer amassing our forces, they will get wind of our plans and make their escape."
"Very true." Kokomi pondered. "Let me think. I gave this some thought while you were confiscating the Delusions. The site of the factory must be big and secluded, but close enough to a transport route to ensure the supply of raw materials. Not many places meet these criteria, and if we take the locations where our soldiers received their Delusions into account as well, I suspect the site is likely to be the cliffs near the ocean at the southwest of Yashiori Island. I'm not going to stop you, but please be careful. We have lost too many courageous fighters already. I don't want to lose you too."
"Okay, let's go." the Traveler told Paimon with determination.
"You mean, to the Delusion factory?" Paimon blinked. "You aren't going to think it over first? Ugh, fine..." she hurried after her partner.
At the bottom floor of the Delusion factory...
"So, is this where Delusions are made from?" Paimon spotted the mass quantity of Crystal Marrow on the bottom floor." So much Crystal Marrow... now, where have we seen that before? Wait a second, are they getting this from Ritou? So, the Kanjou Commission are..."
In the Delusion factory main hall...
"You actually managed to find this place." Scaramouche noted, after the Traveler defeated the Fatui agents. "Congratulations. Barely two words in and you already look like you want me dead."
"You're giving Delusions to the resistance." the Traveler growled.
"So, that's what this is about." Scaramouche scoffed. "I think you've got the wrong idea. I know how this looks, but I'm just here to follow orders. I'm obviously not the mastermind behind this. Aren't you supposed to be pretty tough? What are you waiting for, go get them. You're getting all worked up over nothing. You've changed; you're getting weak."
"How can you say this is nothing?" Paimon demanded.
"How can you call it anything more?" Scaramouche fired back. "It's the way of the world. Human life is worthless. They were always going to die, with or without a Delusion. At least having one gives them a chance to fulfill their ambitions. Do you have any idea how useful the Vision Hunt Decree is to us? It took a lot of work to make it happen. Obviously, it was in our best interests. Good news is, our hard work is finally paying off. Generating conflict creates a big market for Delusions. Now we just let the promise of power draw in the weak. For just a small price, they get the feeling of controlling the world. Trading their life for supreme power: pretty good deal, don't you think?"
"So, the Fatui started the Vision Hunt Decree?" Paimon exclaimed. "You've been behind it all along?"
"From the outside, Inazuma looks pretty impenetrable, but on the inside... it's a land of opportunity." Scaramouche smirked. "With a little effort, we were able to break them down from within. Eternity stretches things out over a long time. But each moment within it becomes all the more fragile. Take your friend in the resistance, for example. There's nothing you can do now. He's a lost cause.: Just like a bubble on the water. Beautiful for a moment, then total destruction. The more it takes from them, the more tightly they hold onto it. And the more incompetent they are, the more determined they are to fight it! It's such a farce, you have to see the funny side."
"Don't you dare mock Teppei." the Traveler glared.
"Traveler, calm down..." Paimon soothed. "No!" she squealed when a deep purple haze engulfed the enraged Traveler.
"That's it, just like that!" Scaramouche laughed. "Embrace the anger! Embrace it! The wrath of the gods fills this factory, and it feeds on your anger."
"What's happening." Paimon wailed in panic when the Traveler fell unconscious. "Get up!"
The Traveler espied Yae Miko strolling in front of them before they blacked out.
