Author's Note: Okay so no twins in this one. Not sure if they'll appear in the next chapter or not. I just go with whatever comes to mind. Anyway, with Halloween around the corner, I'm trying to draw my OC, Christine as Chun Li plus I do have two other drawings to do. I'm working on a mangaka of Space Angel with Christine as the Main Character I'm working on Page 5 and I'm working on a drawing of both child and teen Naruto Uzumaki.

Disclaimer: I don't own DMC. If I did, DMC 6 would be out with everyone playing as Sparda. I just own copies of the game and soundtrack that's it. I also don't own Unsolved Mysteries. In order to protect the family that was used, I changed their name and their child. Unsolved Mysteries is a very good show it's also on Pluto TV for free if anyone is interested.

Sighing to himself, he told himself once they reach Redgrave City, and get a motel room, then he'll let her sleep if she's still tired. Nodding his head, he figured that's what he would do. Wake her up, grab their things, stop at his wreck truck get his phone charger and see about hitching a ride at least he hoped.

Standing there, Christine frowned as the fifth car drove past them. She was fighting hard not to shiver, wearing only her jacket. Adrian was doing it all wrong. Standing there, her body trembled as she began coughing. She felt like there was something stuck in her throat, and she kept trying to either clear her throat or she would cough.

"This is getting us nowhere!" Adrian shouted.

He groaned and kicked up some of the snow, Christine stood there and watched as it went up and then landed on his head, "UGH! I'm freezing my ass off!"

Rolling her eyes, Christine spotted a car off in the distance and knew that if she left it up to Adrian, he'd mess it up. Pushing herself off their belongings, she walked past him a little and held out her thumb, she prayed that this would work. Although something was telling her it would work.

She noticed the car was slowing down and she knew her way was working instead of throwing her hands in the air and waving them like Adrian was prior.

The car came up beside her and stopped, the driver rolled the window down, "You two have to be the craziest I've seen to be out in this cold weather," the woman said.

Looking, she had blond hair with long bangs, had sunglasses over her eyes, and wore a heavy jacket underneath what looked like a black leather top.

"My idiot brother's truck broke down and we're trying to get a ride to Redgrave City," Christine said.

She made sure to leave out that he wrecked the damn thing last night, she didn't want to be scaring anyone off. That was the last thing either one of them needed.

"I'm actually on my way there, I can give you both a ride," she said.

"That would be great," Christine replied.

The woman reached down and popped the truck, "Go ahead and put your things in the back, since it looks like a lot of stuff you two got there," she pointed out.

Most of the stuff belonged to Adrian, she didn't have much. Not like it was either's fault. Shaking her head, she turned to face her brother and told him that they had a ride.

"She said we can put our stuff in the back," She breathed into her hands.

At least they'll be in a car with heat, "Why not let him do that and you, can sit up here with me?" the lady suggested.

Feeling a hand on the small of her back, she turned to look at her older brother, "Go ahead, I got it, you don't need to be exposed to the cold weather any more than you already have been," he said.

Opening the door, Christine sat down in the passenger seat, she mentally sighed when she felt the heat hit her face. Bringing the labels of her jacket up, Christine began coughing into it.

"That's a bad cough you got there," the lady said.

"I've been trying to clear my throat all morning," Christine replied trying to clear her throat before coughing again.

Hearing the trunk close, the back door opened behind Christine and the vehicle shifted as Adrian got in and closed the door behind him.

"Thanks a lot, lady for the lift," Adrian thanked.

"Not a problem, you two wouldn't have made it to the city with the distance your truck broke down," she answered.

Leaning her head against the cool of the window, Christine closed her eyes, all morning she's been feeling like her body was ready to shut down. She felt weak and tired, and she felt hot yet cold at the same time.

"My name is Trish,"

"Adrian and this is my sister, Christine," he mentioned to the girl in front of him.

"Adrian, what are going to do when we get to Redgrave City? We don't have a place to stay," Christine asked.

"I got us a motel that we'll be staying in for a few days," Adrian said.

Frowning, she knew that a few days wouldn't last them, "Adrian, you know damn well that we can't just stay for a few days," She pointed out.

"Remember I got an interview today," He reminded her.

Huffing, Christine rolled her eyes, "That doesn't mean a thing," She reminded him.

"I know someone who works at a hotel that will let you both stay for as long as possible, no charge," Trish said.

"Thanks, but no," Adrian declined, "We'll just find a motel instead,"

"No! Absolutely not!" Christine stated, lifting the labels of her jacket she coughed into them again.

"I don't want to stay in no motel that has little to no heat, Adrian," she started, "I'm sick of it, that's all we had to put up with while leaving Ayuga and coming here,"

He always chooses cheap places to stay, and each place had little to no heat at all. Christine would always be wearing either her jacket to bed or the hoodie she had in her bags. That was her only way to stay warm.

"Besides, you barely have any money to even get a motel room for a week or two," She reminded him.

"Not that it's any of my business," Trish began, "but how much do you even have?"

"About..." Adrian's voice trailed off as he began to think, "I think 180,"

"That won't last long, I know someone who needs help," she started.

"I… already have an interview later this morning at 10 am," Adrian interrupted.

"And we'll stay in a motel," he added.

Balling her hands into fists, Christine had enough of him. He always chose either a cheap place or he chose a shortcut. It always pissed her off when he did things like that. And she knew good and well that this motel probably wouldn't have heat, if they did, they would make up an excuse saying, "we've been meaning to work on it," or "we didn't know it was out, last time we check it was working fine,".

"No, we won't," Christine started, "we'll accept the hotel if it's free of charge, Adrian. Besides I still don't like the idea of yours getting a job that was mentioned to you by Reis."

"We've been through this, I trust him," Adrian reminded.

"Well, I don't, and I never will trust him either," Christine began, "well stay in the hotel,"

She told Trish while coughing into her jacket, "If he has you selling illegal stuff, then I want you to quit."

"Damnit, would you stop bashing him?" Adrian began, "He helped us get this far, right?"

"When was the last time you heard from him?" She asked.

Adrian opened his mouth to say something but, soon closed it. He realized he hasn't heard from Reis since they had left, Ayuga. Even though his phone is dead, there's still a chance he could have called or texted Adrian but of course, never got a reply due to his phone being dead.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Trish pulled up to the overhang, "Wait here if you two don't mind, I got to talk to the manager," she said.

Both siblings sit there in silence, Christine didn't want to talk to her brother because she knew it would lead to an argument which she was sick of. Lifting the labels to her jacket, she started coughing.

Paying attention, he notices, reaching over he laid a hand on her shoulder, concerned about his sister, "Hey, you, okay? You've been coughing a lot since this morning," he asked.

"I'm fine, I'm just… tired of arguing with you," She answered.

Before he could open his mouth, the driver's door opened to reveal Trish, "The manager agreed to let you guys for as long as you need, free of charge too,"

"Great," Adrian gets out of the car and walks inside to check-in.

"Here," Trish began, "your room is on the third floor, and room number is 334B,"

She said handing over the keys, she already took care of checking them into a room for them while she was inside talking to the manager.

"Thank you," Christine thanked.

"Don't thank me yet, you just focus on getting over that cough," she said.

Adrian comes back with a cart and brings it over to the trunk of Trish's car she pressed the button to open it and began to take his things out and Christine's as well. He'll have to see about finding an apartment for them plus getting a rental to go get their stuff that's still with his wrecked truck.

Walking to the elevator, Christine reaches out and presses the elevator button. Staying close to her brother, she avoided making eye contact with anyone. It was hard for her to trust others; people have two different faces.

Hearing the ding, the two talked in and Christine pressed the button for the third floor, feeling an arm wrapped around her shoulder, she leaned against her older brother.

"I promise, things will be better, not just for me," he began, "but for you too,"

"Things will be different this time, I won't let anyone near you or hurt you again," he added.

Adrian didn't want to see the same thing repeat itself. He wants her to find someone who's perfect for her. Not someone with a two-face.

Soon the elevator doors opened, Adrian dropped his arm and pushed the cart out with Christine bringing up the rear. Standing there in the foyer they began looking for signs trying to figure out where their room was at.

"Hey, Adrian, I think it's this way," Christine pointed to the sign.

Turning to face his sister, Adrian follows her down the hallway while Christine would look at the signs beside the door. Passing three doors, she came to a stop upon seeing the number that matches. Placing the card in the slot, she pulled it out. The light flashed green allowing her to open the door.

When walking into the room, both came to a dead stop in their track. They couldn't believe their eyes. They had a suite.

"What… what the fuck…?" Adrian swore.

Adrian couldn't believe what he was seeing, and it was also hard for Christine to believe it too. There had to be a mistake. Yet, why would the door unlock if this wasn't their room? Was there a malfunction? Walking back outside, she doubled checked.

Yeah, it's correct, 334B. How can a woman like Trish pull strings and get the manager to allow us to take a suite?

It looked like they walked into an apartment instead of a hotel room. Because they were both seeing a living room in front of them a kitchen to the left, complete with a cooktop, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Walking to the room that was to her right, she hoped it was just a normal bedroom with two beds. But when she opened the door, her jaw dropped.

A king-size bed? The room looked like a master bedroom in an apartment and house. Shaking her head, she closed her mouth and immediately called out to Adrian.

"I'm claiming the master bedroom," she said.

"What the hell?" he called out.

Groaning when his sister walked over and grabbed her bags and walked into the room thus closing the door behind her. He was going to let it slide this once. Pushing the cart, a little further in, Adrian took his bags off the cart and placed them on the sofa, and decided to deal with them later.

"Hey, Chris, I need a copy of the room key so I can get in," he called out, "I gotta take the cart back downstairs,"

Hearing a shuffle in the other room, the door opened to reveal Christine in a pair of sweats and a long sleeve loose shirt. She handed him a copy of the key and spun on her heels, walking back to her room, she stopped and turned the heat down a bit believing it was too hot in the room.

Walking into her room, she closed the door and walked over to the bed, and turned off the lights. She could feel her body wanting to shut down. It was hard for her to stand up, she felt weak. Pulling the blankets back, she grabbed the pillows that were on the bed and tossed them over to the living chair in the corner leaving only one pillow on the bed. She crawled into bed and tried to get comfortable before falling asleep.

He stood there frowning at her bedroom for a few minutes wondering why she turned the heat down. Shaking his head, he had to return the cart. Walking over to the cart, he reached out and grabbed it. Pulling it over to the door, he opened it and pulled the cart out of the room, and closed the door once the cart was out.

Walking to the foyer, Adrian pressed the elevator button and walked into the elevator once the doors had opened and pressed the button for the 1st floor.

After returning the cart, he went back up to the 3rd floor. Unlocking the door, he stepped in and thought about housekeeping he knew his sister wasn't a pleasant person when rudely waken' up in the middle of her sleep.

Taking the sign from the back of the doorknob, he put it on the outside which said, 'do not disturb'.

Sighing to himself, Adrian took his bags and went to the other side of the suit towards the other room, come to find out, there were two beds in this one.

Better than just one in here.

Turning on the light Adrian set his bags on the empty bed, opening it up, he began digging through it. Pulling out what he needed, he was about to head to the shower but stopped when he remembered his phone was dead. Pulling out his phone, he pulled out his charger and plugged it up, and laid his phone by the light.

Waking up with her back sweating, Christine looks at the time to see that she was only asleep for at least 30 minutes. Seeing a figure in her doorway, she looked to see it was her brother. For a change, he looked handsome. She knew if he dressed nicely, then he could possibly get a girlfriend.

She sits up as she saw him walk away, pulling the covers off, she gets out of bed to follow him. Hearing him swear, she knew what was getting to him.

Opening her mouth, she managed to call out to him, "Adrian," her voice came out croaky.

Seeing him spin on his heels, he was surprised to see his sister awake, "Sorry, did I wake you?" he asked.

Shaking her head, she walked up to him and took his tie in her eyes and evened it out, and tied it properly for him.

"Good luck," she said softly.

Turning around she goes back to bed. Instead of pulling the blankets up to her shoulders, she only pulls them up to her waist and closed her eyes.

Waking up, Christine felt worse than she did earlier. It takes a while to even get out of bed, she had to force herself. Walking into the living room, she stops when she spots her brother with a shit-eating grin on his face.

"I got the job," he said.

Hearing that, she wanted to say congratulations to him, but instead, she gave him a thumbs up as if saying nice. Taking in her looks, Adrian noticed that she looked terrible.

"You look pale," he said getting up from his seating position.

Walking over to her, he places his hand on her forehead, "You're warm, you need to see a doctor,"

Hearing that, Christine began shaking her head, she didn't want to see a doctor, since the last time. The last one was trying to bud into her personal business at home. Plus, when she had surgery on her hip, she had to go back for surgery because the stupid idiot fucked up somewhere.

Seeing her shaking her head, Adrian frowned.

"You're going to see a doctor whether you like it or not, besides, ones here in Redgrave are probably better than Ayuga," he said.

Hearing his words, she knew he was probably right, turning on her heels, she slowly made her way back to her room and managed to change clothes into another set of sweats and a loose shirt.

Upon arriving at the office, a free doctor took the siblings and checked over Christine. Taking her temperature checked her throat and whatever else. She was running a fever right at 102.

"She has a strep throat, a fever and it looks like she has both the flu and common cold," he said.

"She'll need plenty of rest, she'll also need to drink plenty of water too," he added, standing up, he pulled out a prescription paper from his breast pocket.

Taking his clipboard, he started prescribing Christine.

"For the flu, stay home get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids, also take some over-the-counter medicine, for the cough you can try over-the-counter liquid medicine too," he explained.

"You can also sit in a steamy bathroom or a steamy bathtub, if you have a humidifier, you can use that,"

Christine managed to send a glare at Adrian, he was such an idiot most of the time! He knew that he should've gotten rid of that piece of shut truck he had. But no, he decided to keep it anyway. And even if she tried to tell him, he would've brushed her off like he kept doing.

Now she's sick. Because of him. Well, mostly both. It's both her fault and his fault as well, she didn't have a proper jacket to wear or a thick sweater.

It's hard for me to believe that he got the job. Still. It's probably doing illegal stuff. We'll just see about that in a few days or so…

Sitting there, she took a deep breath and let it out, she wanted to go back to the hotel room and sleep. She'd probably sleep first then later get a steamy bath. Lifting the neck of her shirt she coughed into it.

The doctor finished with the paper and handed it to Adrian who thanked the Doctor, he stood and walked over to his sister and helped her stand, and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Her pace was slow, not like she normally would be.

Walking beside her, Adrian hesitated, he wanted to wrap his arm around his sister and support her, but he also didn't want to be too close to her. He'd be his luck he'd get sick. Also, he tells himself he should be sick not her. He also knew that Christine would blame herself if he got sick from her.

After picking up some medicine, they both returned to the hotel, bag in hand, Christine headed straight to the bathroom and closed the door she placed the medicine on the counter, beside her comb and other items. Walking over to the bathtub, Christine turned it on and push the plug down. Soon steam started to rise from the water and she felt the passage to her nose clear up. Removing her clothes and stepped in the water not even bothering to put her hair up and soaked in the water for a bit.

She wasn't planning on staying in there long, since after this she was deciding to take a nap to get some more rest.

That is if her body would let her.

She knew she also had medicine to take now, which she didn't want to. She didn't like taking medicine and she didn't like doctors either. It didn't matter if the medicine was going to help her or not.

Sitting there soaking, with her eyes closed, Christine suddenly opened them not even knowing how much time had passed, did she doze off? If so, why didn't Adrian at least knock to check on her? She could have drowned!

She still felt tired though, she knew she had to get out before she fell asleep again. Using her foot, she lifted the plug allowing the now cold water to drain out. Slowly pushing herself up, she reached out and grabbed a towel from the rack and began drying her feet while slowly moving out of the bathtub.

Sitting on the toilet seat with the lid down, she started working on drying herself off fully. Her moves were not only slow but sluggish as well, she still felt like shit. Tossing the towel to the side, she told herself that she'll put it up later. Reaming in her spot, she managed to dress and pushed herself up.

Walking to her bedroom, she crawled into bed and pull the blankets up to her waist, and curled up before closing her eyes. Laying there, she allowed her mind to drift. Back when things were great before he came along. But that was when she was still in High School and when her dad was alive.

How she wished things could go back to how they used to be. But she knew that will never happen.

As for Adrian, he was sitting in the living room looking up stores on his phone that possibly had a humidifier so that he could buy one for his sister, hoping it would help her out. He didn't want to buy one that cost him a lot. He needed to save his money at least for now.

The more Adrian sat there looking at the humidifier on his phone the more it nagged him. Pulling out his wallet he counted his money, he had about 150 now. He looked back at the item. The item didn't cost that much, only 40. He'd still have money until he starts his job and gets his first paycheck. He knew it would help Christine out a lot. It'd help her get better faster.

Thinking over things more, he finally made up his mind. Looking up something, he called a taxi and gave out the address. Standing, he left the hotel room.

Laying there in bed, she could feel his hands on her. On her arms, throwing her across the room. Before finally finding their way to her neck. She couldn't breathe, and she began telling herself that this was a nightmare. And that she had to wake up.

It took her several tries before she finally woke up. Sitting up in bed, she sat there breathing heavily tears falling down her face. She unconsciously reached up and touched her neck. She could still feel his hands there.

Taking deep breaths, she managed to calm herself and her heartbeat. Moving to stand up, she walked into the living room to see it was bare. She frowned when she didn't see Adrian. She wanted to call out to him but knew it was pointless. Walking into his room, she didn't see him in there only his bags.

Backing out of the room, she looked at the clock that was in the living room and saw it was only 3:15 in the afternoon.

It made her wonder where in the hell he run off to without leaving a note saying where he was going. Shaking her head, she was starting to think like their mother.

Walking over to the couch, she sat down and reached for the TV remote, and turned it on. The weather was on. They were saying that the snow was going to be sticking around for a while. And that possibly next week sometime things will start to clear up.

Rolling her eyes, she changed it to a different channel which came up to be something called Unsolved Mysteries.

Sitting there, she pulled her legs up to her chest, she remembers her mother watching the show when she was young. She couldn't at first understand it, but soon got hooked on it. And the good thing was, she turned it to the channel just in time as the show just started.

"This program is about unsolved mysteries. Whenever possible, the actual family members and police officials have participated in recreating the events. What you are about to see is not a news broadcast." A voice spoke.

After showing the name of the show, a voice spoke up, it showed a man who appeared to be a priest he was on his knees praying. The voice spoke about how the priest said to have a special vision to see a holy one which a lot believed that the priest was left with the power to heal the sick. And that 'tonight' that they'll meet with two people that were cured by miracles.

Christine frowned, if there was a Holy One, then why would they allow…that…demon to be on earth? But then again…she doesn't know what goes on in anyone's mind and she didn't want to know.

The image changed to a woman with a car coming up to her in what looked like possibly a desert.

"In a remote campground area, and off-road enthusiasts had a surreal encounter with a beautiful blonde woman and three angry strangers."

She watched as the woman lifted her head, and a man got up in the driver's face.

"Little did he know that this curious episode would later make him a key witness in a murder mystery."

The camera zoomed out; two other guys were on both sides of the car now. One in front, one on the left, and the other on the right. The car soon began backing up. The screen changed to an older couple and a man standing behind them with a paper in hand.

"During a war, the Barlowe family of Ayuga was told that their eldest son Ace had died in a plane crash."

The woman had stood up and hugged the man, Christine took that as a sign that he was the couple's son. It made her heart tighten. Christine and Adrian both lost their parents, and she knew the feeling of losing a loved one.

"However, three months later, they identified him in this photograph of captured airmen."

The older man was holding a newspaper in his hand as his wife came over to look.

"Today, his relatives are still determined to find out what to Ace Barlowe."

Hearing the door unlock Christine looked to see it was Adrian, he had his hands full. A pack of water bottles and a humidifier on top of the pack plus bags in his hand too.

"Oh, hey," he said.

Frowning, she watched as he closed the door with his foot and walked over to the counter, and set them down. "I bought you some things, well the water is to be shared." He spoke.

Pulling out his pocket knife, he opened the back and put a few water bottles in.

He walked over to her and placed his hand on her forehead, "You're not as warm as you were earlier which is great," he said.

His eyes soon looked at the TV, "Isn't that…uh…" he started snapping his fingers trying to remember the name of it.

"Damnit, what's the name of it…"

He knew it dealt with mysteries and murders and such. But he couldn't, "Unsolved Mysteries!" he stated.

Walking past his sister, he sat down beside her he always enjoyed watching it too when he was a kid and when their mother was alive.

A man who was wearing white began to take steps back from a priest who was praying but now had fallen to the floor. Soon the man in white disappeared and the camera showed the priest who was laying on the floor, viewers could see the back of his hands bleeding, he tried to push himself up but failed and he noticed the palms of his hands were bleeding.

"When the ecstasy was ended he noticed that his hands and feet and side were bleeding."

The priest had managed to push himself up to where he was sitting on his knees.

"I always enjoyed watching this with mother," Adrian said.

Christine nodded her head and leaned against her brother. Being around him always calmed her even though he was a loveable idiot.

"He felt that after eight days, you would see the beginning of—of healing in the wounds." A priest said.

"You can't trust Priests," Adrian said.

While he was out, he had seen a church and stopped to as a Priest about a demon. He said that demons exist only to torment humans and that if he was to show a cross or something dealing with a Holy figure then they would back down.

Frowning, that…thing that he and his sister saw the other night. But there was more than that thing. There were actual demons. Like that asshole who hurt his sister. Adrian knew something was wrong, the bastard never allowed him to see his sister and vice versa. He knew it but had no proof in the beginning plus keeping a tight lease on his sister and keeping her from telling the truth.

Feeling a head slumped against his shoulder, Adrian looked at his sister and noticed that she had fallen asleep. Wrapping an arm around her shoulders, he stood up and slid his other arm under her legs, and lifted her.

She's lost weight.

He frowned when he noticed that she needed to eat something. And cooking was not his specialty. That belonged to his sister. He knew the bar downstairs wasn't opened and it won't be opened until probably 5 PM.

Maybe he should have bought a can of soup since that was the only thing, he can cook without burning the hotel down. But the problem was, he didn't want to go back out. When it came to going out, especially after coming back home. He was lazy. After Adrian comes home from anywhere, he refuses to go back out and won't do it. It doesn't matter what it's for.

Laying her down in bed, he pulled the blankets over her and left her room.

Standing there, he wasn't sure if he wanted to finish watching the episode or if he wanted to turn it off and prepare for his new job tomorrow. Shrugging his shoulders, he sat down on the couch and watched the remaining episode of Unsolved Mysteries.
