Chapter 13: scheming, fighting and captured.

"Harry, you should take it easy. She did not mean it." Said Ivy seeing that Jakob had flicked his wrist and now held his wand.

" Yeh Potter, you should apologise to her, now". Said Jakob staring at the boy in Infront of him.

The Slytherin boy slowly pulled Ella so she was behind him.

" What are you going to do with that snake?" Snorted Ron gesturing to the wand.

" If you use it here, you will be expelled. Glared Harry taking out his own.

" There you are, Jakop, I was just.." Said a voice when one of the carriage doors opened. Draco, who had his two bodyguards, walked over, and when they saw the situation, Draco grabbed Ella, who was about to greet him, and he gestured for Crabbe to place her behind them.

"So... what are the three blood traitors doing in this part of the train said Draco walking up beside Jakob with Goyle following him.

"Not anything stupid, I hope?" smirked the blonde boy crossing his arms.

Ron, who had reacted to the word, went past Harry and was about to punch Draco but was stopped by Jakob's knee, making him bend over and lose his breath.

Harry threw a punch hitting Jakob's chin. As Jake took a step back, Goyle Rushed forward, grabbing Harry and lifting him up. Just as the big guy was about to throw him away like garbage, he was hit in the back by a spell from Ron, who had now gotten back up on his feet and harry dropped to the floor.

Draco, who had seen the spell, turned back and saw Ron pointing his wand at him and kicked him between the legs in panic. The taller redhead made a comical sound and dropped to the floor on his knees. Draco looked surprised and took his chance.

With all his might, he slammed into Ron. A loud bang was heard as Weasley hit the train wall and fell unconscious.

Crabbe had taken Ella further back and made it so she could not see what was happening. Crabbe did not really know what was happening. He only knew that Jakob cared for the girl and Draco had trusted him with protecting her. The Slytherin had his wand out and prepared if someone tried to attack him.

Jakob saw Ivy casting a spell and ducked before rushing her, tackling her to the ground. Ivy, who was no stranger to fighting, closed her fist and punched Jakob in the temple, making him see stars for a moment. He then felt someone grab him from behind with two hands and yank him away from her. As Jakob looked up and rose, he saw both Harry and Ivy pointing their wands at him, and just as they were about to send a spell at the defenceless Slytherin boy, Ivy flew back by a spell shot from Draco.

Harry looked livid at seeing the blonde smirk after sending his sister away Switched targets and sent Draco a stunning spell that hit its mark, and he collapsed.

Jakob took this moment to run at harry ah knocked him down on the floor. Harry fell down like his sister before, but there was no one to yank Jakob away this time.

He straddled the Gryffindor and raised his fist, letting it drop on the boy's face.

He heard and felt a satisfying crunch as he dropped the hammer on Harry's nose. The Slytherin raised it again, smiling this time as it hit the temple.

" Enough!"

A spell was cast, hitting Jakob in the back, and he felt a grip pull him away from Harry's unconscious body. Jakob felt himself being pasted, unable to move to the train cart's wall.

When Jakob looked over, he saw that it was a Hufflepuff prefect. The boy Jakob remembered from the meeting, Gabriel Truman.

" What the Bloody hell is going on?" said the Hufflepuff boy, looking at the only two standing, Jakob and Goyle.

" They started it. The Weasley boy tried to attack Draco, and I defended him. Harry even used a spell on Draco.

Gabriel looked at Jakob.

"Did you use any spells?"

Jakob, who knew this question would arise, shook his head.

"I'm not allowed to use magic outside the school, and I did my best to protect my friends without it."

Gabriel looked at Jakob's wand.

"so if I ask you to show me the last spell you cast?"

"It would show you a levitation charm I used when packing my bags at the end of last year." Jakob half lied there. The last spell was a levitation spell, but it was used this morning.

Gabriel seemed to believe him and turned to Goyle.

" You what happened."

" I was looking for Jakob when we saw that the Gryffindors were trying to attack him and a first-year. We defended them."

The Hufflepuff looked confused.

" What first year?"

" Here," said Crabbe and moved aside, showing a terrified Ella behind him.

" You protected her?" said Gabriel in surprise.

" Yes. Someone had to make sure she was not hurt," said Crabbe.

Gabriel, who never in his 7 years at Hogwarts, had Witnessed the Slytherin being the good guys and Gryffindors, the attackers bent down to the girl and gave her a smile.

"Hi there. My name is Gabriel, and I'm the head boy. Can you tell me what happened here?"

The girl looked at the warm smile Gabriel had given her, and she nodded.

" I was walking with Jakob, and I was happy. I accidentally pushed the guy over there," she pointed to Harry, who still was on the floor.

" And they got mad. Jakob and Draco dragged me back, and then Vincent told me not to look, and I heard angry yells."

Having heard the story, the Hufflepuff head boy looked surprised at the loyalty that had been shown. He released Jakob from his spell, and Jakob dropped down, landing on his fest.

" Mr Crabbe, you have earned 20 points to Slytherin for your act of protection and loyalty to a first year. I will not reward the rest of you because of the use of more brute force than was needed."

Jakob gave Crabbe an appreciated nod as thanks, and Crabbe, who was not used to being praised or even thanked, looked down.

"I will brief the others about what happened," said Gabriel as he waved his wand and whispered.

" Finite," And Draco got up fast.

" They attacked us!" said the blonde, pointing at the three Gryffindors.

" He knows everything he needs to Draco," said Jakob tiredly, putting a hand on his friend's shoulder.

" go on, you, I will take of this," he said, pointing his wand at the three Gryffindors.

The group of Slytherins walked away to the back of the train where the Slytherin was seated.

Jakob had not thought of it at the moment, but there had been students watching the who event, and they had made sure to tell everyone on the train before they had stopped.

When they opened the carriage door, they were met by The Slytherin students staring at them.

" what the hell happened to you?"

said pansy, raising to her feet, seeing Draco had looked ruffled.

Daphne got to her feet as well and walked over to Jakob.

" Are you okay?"

" yeh, he and Draco knocked both Wesley and Potter out," said Goyle and everyone in the compartment who had been listening looked wide-eyed at the two boys.

"It's a bit weird. I can swear that I saw that your jaw had reddened after Potter punched you," said Goyle looking at Jakob's right side.

Jakob looked confused.

" Huh, I thought he gently touched me. You said it was a punch?"

He heard some students laugh and Goyle, who still looked a bit confused, shrugged. Jakob noticed pansy throwing him a glance, and they all sat down with Ella and discussed what had transpired.

As they sat and talked, Amy Frome and Damon Gosforth came in and walked over to them.

" Quade, Malfoy, I just heard something from the head boy."

Said Amy walking over to the group.

" Did you guys protect a first year from the big bad Gryffindors?"

Draco, who still was scared of Amy, did not say anything and looked to Jakob to answer.

Jakob got up and took a slight bow to both prefects.

" I'm afraid that it is true, miss Frome, but I hope the head boy also mentions that it was, in fact, Mr Crabbe here who did the protecting. The rest of us was just the wall."

" A wall." snorted Gosforth.

" You broke Potter's nose and gave him and the Wesley boy a concussion."

Jakob looked at Damon, a bit put. What is his problem?

" I did not know that I made such an impression. I hope that they will be okay."

Draco, who had been sitting still hearing his friend had taken the blame for what he did to the Weasley, was on his way to speak. Jakob gave in a quick glance that told him to shut up, and the blonde boy nodded, looking away.

Damon walked over to him and stood a little closer.

"You have made too much noise in this house, Quade, and I have never really liked you."

Jakob met his gaze with a smile.

" Well, next time I think of doing something, I will stop and think for myself. Will Damon, the prefect, approve of this?"

Damon punched Jakob in the stomach, and all the students in the compartment gasped.

"That's enough, Damon," said Amy giving the prefect boy a glare.

Jakob, who had lost his breath, stood straight again, looking the boy in the eye.

" Are you going to punch me back, Quade? Go ahead, give me a reason." Said Damon smirking at him.

Jakob had every urge in his body to take his wand and Pierce his skull with it, but when his eye caught Amy's, he saw her worried look to do something stupid. So instead, he straightened up and smiled his charming smile.

" I would not dream about punching you."

" That's right, you little shit. You might have power outside this school, but when you are in Slytherin, you are my bitch." hissed Damon and walked out.

Amy, who had stood for a second more, got a slight nod from Jakob that he was okay.

When Quade sat down, his friends looked at him with either worry or rage.

" Don't worry guys, he hit like Potter, " said Jakob, trying to improve the mood. They started slowly to return to the spirit before Damon and Jakob smiled and laughed with everyone, but in his mind, he was planning. Damon would get his.

The train arrived at the train station, and they all walked out.

As Hagrid called for the first years, Ella walked with the others and waved to Jakob, who waved back.

Pansy Draco and Jakob took the carriage, and when they sat inside, Draco said.

" Mate, why did you tell him you knocked Weasley out when they know I did it?"

Jakob sighed.

"Don't you think he already knows that? He just wanted to drag more of you with me. We need our group to look strong, and what he did to me is enough. Had he done the same to the Malfoy heir, people would assume both of us were up for grabs."

"Are we really going to take what that prefect did to you?"

Jakob who sat Infront of Draco and pansy leaned back.

"We are not going to do anything yet. Gosforth is probably expecting me to do a counter-attack, so he gets what he wants if we start something now."

Pansy, who had been quiet, spoke for the first time.

"You would have done the same for us. Let us help you put that idiot in place."

Jakob started to get irritated now.

"Don't let our friendship get in your way of thinking. I first need to understand what I have done to make him despise me, and only then. Will I make my move. But I have a clue what it is, but we will have our answer tonight if I'm right."

The two Infront of Jakob knew that he was right, and they sat silent the rest of the way.

When they arrived at the castle, the three Slytherins jumped out and headed inside.

Jakob sat down at the feast with Daphne on his right side and pansy on his left, and they watched as the first years walked in.

Jakob noticed their nervous glances and could not understand that he had looked that little a year ago.

The sorting started, and Jakob kept a close eye on Ella, who stood beside a blonde girl with a dreamy look.

A lot of new students were sorted, and Jakob noticed another redheaded girl standing in the crowd.

Jakob leaned into Daphne and whispered.

" So the Weasleys have yet another one. Wonder where she is going."

Daphne smirked back, and they soon heard the Weasleys girl's name being called and later sorted into Gryffindor.

When the students had thinned out, Jakob started to worry.

If she is sorted into Slytherin, they will destroy her if I don't protect her twenty-four-seven, and I don't have time for that. Shit, she can't be sorted here.

" Ella of house, Quade", said McGonnagal, and with a surprised look, she saw the now scared girl walk forwards. The students who knew what the title meant started to whisper, and some Slytherins even looked surprised at Jakob.

But the boy in question did not care about them. He was busy giving his friend a reassuring smile, who had turned her head and looked at him.

Ella sat on the stool, and the hat was placed on her head. A few moments passed, and Jakob sat with his first closed under the table.

Not Slytherin, not Slytherin, he thought. And then the hat yelled out.

Ravenclaw!

Everyone, even Gryffindor, clapped as Ella stood up, looking over to Jakob, and the boy clapped and smiled at her.

Ella gave him a smile and walked over to her table, where her blond friend sat and waited for the next student to get sorted.

When the sorting was over and Dumbledore had given his speech, people dug in, and Jakob, who was in the middle of a conversation with Daphne, saw Draco getting up and walking over to him.

Draco whispered.

" Sorry about Ella, but Ravenclaw is a good second, right?"

Jakob nodded and whispered back.

" Thanks, mate. I don't really think she was Slytherin material, you know?"

Draco nodded and then got back to his seat.

Jakob noticed that angry glares from the Gryffindor table were pointed at him.

He saw that Ivy, Ron and Harry were glaring daggers at him, and he raised his cup to them in a gesture.

Ron, who was about to yell something out, was hushed down by Hermione, who glanced at Jakob with a slight smile that was almost non-existing.

The feast continued, and when they were full, Dumbledore stood and held his speech announcing that Gilderoy Lockhart was to be the new defence against the dark arts professor. When the headmaster had made his speech, it was time for the students to head for their beds.

When Jakob stood and walked with his friends, he heard someone calling his name.

" Jake! Jake!"

The boy turned around and saw Ella walking over to him with her new friend.

"Jakob, this is Luna Lovegood, Luna this is Jakob Heir of house Quade and my best friend."

Luna looked at Jakob with her dreamy expression.

" Hello, Mr Quade. I have heard so much about you. From Ella here."

Jakob frowned a bit.

" You only just met her."

" Yes, you are right," said Luna, smiling slightly and then looking up at the ceiling.

" Wow, that's pretty." said the platinum-blonde Ravenclaw.

Jakob looked at Ella with a smile.

" You will do good in Ravenclaw, Ella, and if someone mistreats you, you tell me, okay?"

Ella smiled and gave Jakob a hug before he had to leave with his friends.

They went down the stairs and got inside their common room, where Amy and another Slytherin had a chat with the first years, and Jakob noticed the same speech and how the other Slytherin had been what Amy had been to them when they were in the first year.

Jakob stood and listened to the speech and waited for something in particular.

" You can always turn to the Slytherin five."

Said Amy and gave Jakob a look.

" And if the problem is urgent, you can talk to the king."

Jakobs stomach dropped.

Damon walked out with a proud expression from the Slytherin five room that now said king instead of queen.

Damon walked over to the two Slytherins and stood in the middle.

" I am here to help you all. But make no mistake, cross me or the Slytherin five, and I will destroy you."

Damon said those last words looking at Jakob, who now knew that his clue had been correct. Damon wanted to put everyone under his iron fist, and he started with Jakob, who people knew did what he wanted.

Jakob looked at Amy, who was busy telling the students where to sleep. He saw Draco and the rest sitting in their usual place on the couch, and he went over and sat down beside Tracey and Theo.

Nothing else happened that evening, and Jakob, who had spent some time with the second-year Slytherins, took an early night and walked into his room with Pansy, who also said she was tired.

The girl opened the door, and Jakob, who was walking behind her, turned around and closed it. When the door closed, the Parkinson girl turned around, surprising Jake and Hugged him hard. Jakob, who initially had been a bit shocked at the fast movement, raised his arms and hugged her back.

They stood there for a while, just feeling the tension the day had brought slowly washing away. Jakob then broke the hug, still having his hands on her shoulders.

"It's good to see you too, Pansy."

Pansy, who was not prepared to end the hug, gave him one more and held it for a few seconds more.

" I really hate that we can't have it like in Egypt. It's suffocating that you ignore me, and I must do the same." Said the girl, still hugging him.

" I know," said Jakob and released himself, looking her in the eyes.

"But it's necessary, and we can finally get a good night's sleep."

Pansy nodded and looked over at the parchment that was yet again sitting on their wall.

" Home, sweet home," she said and walked inside the bathroom.

Jakob opened his bag and walked inside. He entered s small space showing three paths to three rooms.

The third room was his laboratory, where he could make potions or other things that he saw fit.

It held ingredients on two bookshelves and books on the other one.

He had a table with a set of cauldrons and burners in the middle of the room. They were one small, one medium and one big. It was not the best brewing place. Being so small, it had its risk, so only simple potions could be made there until he could expand it at least.

The second room had a small living room. Not knowing what to put there, he had put up many bookshelves with all the books he could take from the Quades family library and had an armchair in the middle with a light built into the roof.

Jakob took a step and walked into the first room where there was only a big bed, and on that bed lay Saliza sleeping.

When she sensed Jakob had walked in, she woke up and hissed.

" Finally, you arrive."

Jakob smiled and gestured for her to get up on his shoulders.

" I needed to wait until I got inside my room. Are you okay?"

" I'm fine, but I'm starving. I want to hunt in that forest to told me about."

Jakob chuckled and dragged a finger on her scales.

" You seem to be hurrying to get away from me?"

The snake slithered around his neck and bumped her head on his cheek.

"I will return soon, but I'm hungry."

" When you do, I will have your place ready," Jakob hissed and walked out with her.

When Jakob came out, he could still hear pansy preparing in the bathroom, and the Slytherin boy walked over to the window opening it.

" Remember that this is our window, and it will be open when you return."

Saliza slithered out, and he watched as she slithered down the way into the forbidden forest.

Pansy came out, gesturing for him to get ready, and Jakob went inside.

As he changed into his pyjamas shorts, he heard the girl muttering and something moving around outside.

He frowned and continued to brush his teeth, and when he was done, he walked out and was met with a picture he had not seen coming.

Pansy had moved their nightstands so that they touched the corners of their walls and cut off the beds curtains and the wood that kept them up.

Now he looked at a queen-sized double bed with curtains on either side and a girl sitting on one of the beds smiling proudly.

" How long have you thought about doing this," asked Jakob.

" Ever since we said goodbye after the trip. I knew that it was possible, and I planned it out beforehand. What do you think?"

Jakob looked at the big bed and raised his eyebrows.

" Impressive, but will it hold after I tackle you down and tickle you?"

" Jakob, stop. You know that o hate that," said pansy trying to sound stern but failing when she saw that Jakob was getting in position.

" jake. I warn you I will…."

Jakob lunged at her, and they started to Wrestle, and pansy was strong but not as strong as Jakob.

When he inevitable got her locked down, he started to tickle her and Pansy, who tried to breathe, scream and laugh, soon admitted defeat.

When Jakob got off her, he turned around to get out of bed.

" Jakob?"

He turned around and smack! A pillow collided with his face, and he fell to the side. With one bounce on the bed, he fell out, hitting the floor.

" oh shit, Jakob !" pansy yelled in panic and rushed over to the side where Jakob had fallen.

" I'm so sorry I was only joking," she said, but Pansy saw no boy lying there when she looked over the edge of the bed. She frowned in confusion at the empty floor.

" Jakob?"

Then the black-haired girl felt someone behind her, and two arms held her around her stomach. She was lifted into the air with a scream and then brought down backwards in the bed.

Pansy heard Jakob laugh, trying to catch his breath but failing.

" You should see the look on.." Jakob lay down in the bed, holding his stomach and laughing.

" it hurts," he yelled while he continued to laugh.

Pansy started to hit him and tried not to laugh with him but seeing her roommate showing so much happiness made her laugh too.

When they were done, and Jakob had transfigured a hole in the wall for Saliza, he and the Parkinson girl lay in their bed and pansy, who once again used jakes arm as a pillow, asked him.

" So Damon. What do you think he wants?"

" Jakob looked at the ceiling.

" He wants me to get in line and to bow when he passes me."

" Why would he do what he did on the train if it was just that?"

" Because he knows I won't bow and won't get in line for him."

Pansy looked at him, and Jakob glanced back at her.

" What are you going to do then?"

Jakob gave her a smile.

" I will rip him apart."

The following day was a Sunday, and Jakob got up bright and early, letting both Saliza and Pansy sleep in. He discreetly took his bag with him and walked out of room 13.

He walked out to the common room and hoped that maybe Amy was there, he had some questions for her, but the usual chatty room was quiet and empty.

He walked out and headed towards his classroom, which was on the sixth floor. He walked over to room 6d and opened it.

The room looked a bit dusty, having collected some over the summer break.

He started to clean the dust that had appeared, waving his wand around, and when he was done, he opened his bag and walked inside.

He grabbed a big mat that he had measured to be the size of the room.

He rolled it out and saw that it was a perfect fit. The mat was charmed to camouflage the ground, so it looked and felt the same. It had been created to help the Aurors to make fall traps. With a wand tap, the mat could make Wizards who thought they were standing on solid ground fall to whatever punishment was set underneath. This would help him hide the carvings on the ground and make them usable when no one was around.

He then went to classroom 6e, collected desks and chairs for his visitors to sit on, and placed them 4 by 4. There can't be more than 16 students in one sitting, right? Thought the boy as he put the last one down.

Jakob then took out the painting. A lot of them.

He had looked in some of the shops, and knowing there were no windows, he bought pictures depicting different places in the world. It seemed almost like looking through a window. One of his paintings that he particularly enjoyed had the Amazone forest. Various animals, like jaguars, would occasionally sit on a branch, eating their prey and then jumping out of view.

He then moved a desk from room 6f and took out a chair from his bag that he had charmed to feel a little more comfortable.

Jakob sat down, looking over his creation and nodded. It was a good start.

He then walked into his office, where he cleaned up all the books, jars and ingredients he did not need and threw them out the window.

He heard someone yell and frowned. He walked over to the window, and when he looked down, he saw two tiny people yelling at him for throwing out the things.

Jakob who was so high that he could not even see what house they belonged to. With a monotone face, He held a jar that he pointed out through the window and measured for a second, hearing one of the dots yell something about the dare, and he let it go.

He stared at the jar that fell, and the two dots separated. When he noticed that he had missed, Jakob Took out another one, dropped it, and started to think it was amusing.

After three jars, the two dots left, and Jakob turned back inside and continued to clean.

When everything was done, he nodded in approval.

He went to the classroom and tapped his wand on the stone mat. The math disappeared, and Jakob touched the carvings. He then tapped the carpet again, and it reappeared.

" Good," he said and walked out. His classroom was ready.

He had missed breakfast and instead headed out, letting his legs carry him to whatever destination awaited.

He thought for a moment to head out into the forbidden forest but then saw Hagrids Hutt and that smoke were blowing up his chimney.

" could not hurt to talk with the half-blood."

Jakob strolled down, walked up the stairs to the giant's door, and knocked.

"Just a minute!" he heard the man yell, and Jakob, who stood with his hand behind his back, waited patiently.

When Hagrid opened the door, he looked surprised and a little suspicious.

" Hello there, Mr Quade. How can I help ya?" Jakob took a slight bow.

" Hello, Hagrid. I was just taking a walk after cleaning up my classroom and thought I would visit you if you are not busy?"

Hagrid looked a little shocked but nodded and moved away for the boy to enter.

"You can take a seat over there, lad," said the half-giant and gestured to the armchair, where Jakob took a seat and looked around.

" so.." said Hagrid, a bit awkward." um. You said you had a classroom? Are you a teacher now, Mr Quade?" Hagrid chuckled, and Jakob gave him his charming smile back.

" I have started a club where I, together with Granger, will help students from the second and the first year with homework twice a week."

Hagrid stopped chuckling and, with wide eyes, asked.

" Granger, you don't mean Hermione Granger?"

Jakob nodded." well, yes, she is wise, don't you agree? I might have gotten first place in my year, but she was not far behind."

Hagrid looked confused now.

"I don't mean any disrespect, Mr Quade, none at al. But.. you do know that she is a muggle-born, right?"

Jakob raised an eyebrow.

" yes?"

Hagrid, now feeling stupid, started to finger his armchair.

"It's alright, Hagrid. I know that you mean no harm by asking. But I'm not like many of my Slytherins friends. If I see someone with potential, like Granger, I will not be blinded by some pureblood nonsense about blood. I will find a way for that potential to grow."

That they grow loyal to me, you don't need to know. Jakob thought.

Hagrid smiled at the boy and got up.

" Would you like some tea Mr Quade?

" Please, Hagrid, when I'm your guest, please call me Jakob. And Hagrid, would you mind keeping this little chat between just you and me? My Slytherin's friend might not understand my reasoning."

" Of course, Jakob, I will not tell a soul."

Interesting. A few Welled placed words and the man with all the keys trusts me. Though Jakob.

As Hagrid handed the huge tea cup to Jakob, the door knocked and opened.

" Hagrid, how are you? It's so good… why in the Bloody hell is he here?"

Jakob smiled as he saw Harry, Ron, Ivy and Hermione standing Infront of the door.

" Hello, I was just having tea with Hagrid here," said Jakob nodding to the half-giant, who looked confused over the reaction.

" Hagrid, you can't be serious about letting him in here. He attacked us on the train!" said Ron, and Hagrid looked over at Jakob.

" Firstly, I protected a first-year from you guys and second, I only punched you because you tried to attack first."

" What? Protect the first year?" said Hagrid looking towards Harry.

" Well, it's alright now, and I think I have overstayed my welcome."

Jakob got up and gave a slight bow to the half-giant.

" Hagrid, thanks for the time and tea."

Hagrid gave him a smile back, and when Jakob was about to go out, he looked over to Hermione, who looked back at him, trying not to smile.

" Ms Granger, I have readied the classroom 6d for our after-school club activity. If you want to take a look before Tuesday, you know where to find me."

Everyone looked shocked at him except for Ivy.

" Um yeh, I will, thanks."

Jakob gave a slight bow and walked away.

" Bloody hell, I thought he was going to say something nasty to you, Hermione," said Ron while the five of them watched Jakob walk away.

" Ron, we already know that Quade does not hate Hermione and that he does not share his views entirely with the other snake about muggle-borns."

" But it's weird, innit? One day he is Slytherin reborn, and another, he talks to Hermione like he knows her."

Ivy rolled her eyes.

" When had Jakob ever talked badly to her? He did not even do it Infront of his own father."

Harry still glared at the boy, who now had disappeared.

"Whatever. He is still a prick."

Jakob took the rest of the day to hang with his friends, and when evening came, he went to bed trying to figure out why he could not find Amy anywhere.

Monday arrived, and their first session with the new professor. In defence against the dark arts was upon them.

Jakob, who sat furthest back in the class, knew this would be interesting.

Draco wanted to sit closer, and so had the rest of Jakob's friends, so Jakob now sat beside Millicent, who also did not like the professor for reasons Jakob did not know.

" Ah, are you all here excellent." said the golden-haired man as he walked out of his office.

As he gave his speech, Jakob looked out the window. He had already become tired of the professor. Jakob, who knew he had to read up on his books for the grade, had seen that even the ones that contained even the slightest bit of knowledge were trash.

"And that's how I both saved the prime minister and created a new type of wand. But enough of me, we are here for you, and we will start with a quiz to see what knowledge you already have and what I need to help you with."

The professor waved his wand, and a stack of papers was handed out to the students. The Slytherin boy received the quiz and glanced down with a frown.

Jakob, who had seen the questions, looked at Millicent sitting beside him. She looked back and wore the same look of disgust as Jakob did.

When the quiz began, the students in the room began to write, and Jakob started to answer the questions on his paper.

It makes no sense that he would ask what his favourite colour is, thought Jakob in frustration, but never less wrote down lilac.

When the quiz was done, the papers were collected, and Gilderoy Lockhart started to look through them and had a disappointed face while doing so.

"How can this be? have none of you read my books? Mr Potter, I would have guessed that you had at least known some of it, seeing you and I are a bit similar." Jakob, who had snorted at that comment, had gotten a glare from both the Potter boy and the professor. The Gilderoy started to go through the papers and said.

"Well, Mr Quade, I would not be so quick to judge Mr Potters's paper when..."

Gilderoy took out Jakob's paper and started to look through it. His eyes widened, and he turned the report seeing the answers on the back.

"Ha, I see that I have a true fan sitting here. Well done, Mr quade 10 points to Slytherin for answering every question correctly. You will be honoured to come to my classroom and answer some fanmail tomorrow night as an exclusive reward. Jakob looked horrified at the professor, and the students in the classroom wore different expressions. The Potter and Weasley smirked at him while some others glared openly at the Slytherin boy for getting something they wanted more.

Lockhart then stood and lifted something from behind his desk.

They all watched as it rumbled on his desk, and the professor took out his wand.

"Some of the darkest creatures I have fought are in this cage, and I will ask you all not to scream. that will provoke them!" He pulled off the cover in a heroic way, and pixies were shown trying to bite and break themself out of it.

The class started to laugh, and Lockhart smirked at them.

"You might laugh now, but let's see what you all make of them now."

The professor then opened the cage, and the pixies started attacking the students, bringing chaos to the classroom.

Now understanding this was a wrong decision, Lockhart tried to wave his wand, but a blue pixie grabbed it before he started utter the spell.

He did not say anything more and ran up to his room, locking the door.

As many students started running away from the classroom, Jakob had watched as the Potters, Weasley, and Granger tried to fight back.

Quade saw the Longbottom boy get lifted by the ears, and the Slytherin boy's eyebrow rose.

"Impressive," Said Jakob, taking out his wand and casting a knockback jinx that hit Harry straight in the back.

Ron turned around and was about to cast something at the attacker, but when he did, he saw no one standing there.

Jakob walked the halls of Hogwarts whistling a tune and feeling in quite a good mood.

The rest of the day was uneventful, and Jakob, who had just eaten dinner, was on his way to his new classroom.

When he was outside his door, he noticed that the locking charm and the charm he had cast that would end if someone opened the door were not present.

He took out his wand and walked inside, knowing someone might have already trashed the place and left.

"Hello?" said Jakob walking in and seeing that the room was still intact and the light was already on.

"I was wondering when you would arrive, " the Secound year student heard Amy say, and the door closed behind him.

"I have been looking for you," said Jakob and turned around, seeing that the usual smile on her face was missing and that she had a stern look in her eyes.

"What has happened?" said Jakob putting his wand away.

"I need your help with something." Said Amy waving her wand and locking the door.

"With what?" said Jakob frowning and continuing.

"You told me that there is no help given in Slytherin."

Amy walked forward, gave him a tired smile, and kissed him on his cheek.

Jakob, who looked a bit surprised at the affection she had just shown, grabbed her and pulled her towards himself, and they stood there for what seemed like hours and minutes at the same time, embracing each other and kissing more passionate than the night when she had visited him.

When they finally broke apart, they rested each other forehead against one another and tried to control their breathing.

"I told you, we can't do that anymore," said Amy with a smirk.

"I know, and I will have that in mind next time I kiss you," Jakob said, seeing her smile creeping back from that stern face.

"What do you need?" asked Jakob bearing a frown.

"It's Damon. Apparently, he was chosen with 3 votes against 2. He has been more power-hungry and acting rash and stupid. Not befitting of the snake king."

"Why did they choose him to rule? are they stupid? I'm a second year, and I can clearly see that he is not fit for that role," said Jakob sitting down on one of his benches.

Amy nodded and let out a relieved sigh.

"I have been trying to talk with the three Slytherin five and others that hold power in our house, but they are either too scared to do something, or they think that a firm hand is needed after what happened with Diana's ruling last year."

Jakob shook his head.

" He is not acting firm. He is acting like an idiot." Jakob then looked at Amy.

"So, what is your plan?" he asked her.

Amy took out the chair in front of Jakob and sat down on it, dragging her fingers through her hair to calm her frustration.

"I tried to talk with Damon to make him see reason, but after that chat, he went over to your compartment and made you a symbol of what would happen if someone tried anything."

"Yeah, I have not forgotten that," said Jakob, smirking. He will get what's coming for him.

Amy looked at Jakob now with a worried look.

"I believe that if Damon continues with this behaviour, he will destroy what Slytherins stands for. In a day, he had openly cut ties with the other prefects and head boy and punished students in his own house. Not just you, Jakob and I fear what he could do in these two years if this continues."

Jakob frowned.

"Won't the professors do anything, Snape?"

The curly-haired girl shook her head with a sadful smile.

"Only snape knows about the Slytherin hierarchy, and he won't interfere. This is a long-standing tradition going back to Salazar's time."

"So we are screwed?" asked Jakob.

"There is one thing we could do, but it's hard, and we won't be able to do it in a single night, and the aftermath is hard to determine."

Jakob gave her a gesture to continue.

"Jakob, if I tell you this, you must swear that it does not leave this room even if you agree or disagree, okay?"

Jakob nodded, feeling that this was the first time he had seen Amy look desperate.

"I never imagen asking a 12-year-old for help. " Snorted Amy like she was disappointed in herself.

Jakob grabbed her shoulder, feeling that this conversation had dragged on long enough.

"Tell me what it is!"

"I... I need your help getting rid of him and placing me on the throne."

Jakob, who had guessed it, released her and sat back on his bench, observing her.

"Do you think it will work? What do those rules say about overthrowing the current king or queen?"

"It's forbidden," said Amy looking at Jakob.

" As long as the current King or queen rules, they can't be replaced."

"So..." said Jakob thinking, and when he understood what Amy meant, he looked at her.

" We must make the current King end his time here at Hogwarts?"

Amy nodded and sighed.

"We could do the usual, find something to blackmail him with, but that could take months if we are lucky."

Jakob knew where this was going.

"We need him to be in an accident that makes him unable to continue his time here." Helped Jakob.

Amy nodded.

"Are you sure that you will be able to rule when He is gone? What if someone else takes that place."

"They won't. I will rule," said Amy firmly.

Jakob nodded. And then asked the question the Prefecr girl had expected him to ask.

"What's in it for me?"

Amy got up and took his hand.

"There has never been a second year that has been able to join the Slytherin fives. If you help me, Jakob. I will ensure that you take my seat and sit beside me these two years."

Jakob leaned back. He knew this was the only thing Amy could offer him, seeing he already had everything else he wanted.

Jakob looked at her after a moment of thinking.

"If I agree with you, I want you to end your ambition to go after him. You will need someone that will always be at your side as a witness."

"Why?" frowned The girl.

Jakob got up and walked around, and Amy saw him forming a plan in his mind.

" If you are going to take his place, they need to know that whatever happens with Damon, you had no part in it, so whatever you have been doing. You are going to stop it now. I will take care of him."

Amy walked over to him, standing behind him.

"Jakob, you can't take him on by yourself. He is a sixth-year, knows more spells, has more experience than you, and is more powerful."

Jakob nodded.

"Yes, but how I do it does not matter. But if you want me to agree, these are my terms."

The girl behind him thought for a moment and then said.

"Don't do anything stupid and get yourself hurt, alright? "

Jakob turned around and smiled.

"I will try."

They kissed once again, and then Jakob took his leave, telling her to wait 15 minutes before she could go.

As the Slytherin boy walked down the stairs heading to the dungeons, He felt a spell collide with him and fell to the ground.

Before he closed his eyes, he saw three people talking with hushed voices and then felt a kick to his face.
