RAW is WAR: 13/7/1998
RAW is WAR was live at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The first match of the night, to kickoff the show, was the Bladewolf vs Vader. Shawn Michaels makes a surprise return and joins JR and the King for commentary.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
The Devil's Wolf played as the lights dimmed to the sinister blood red and dark blue before the Bladewolf walked out to cheers from the fans. The Bladewolf making his methodical walk to the ring, the WWF Intercontinental Championship around his waist.
"The following contest is scheduled for one-fall with a 20-minute time limit." Tony Chimel announced. "Making his way to the ring, from Death Valley, weighing in at 310 lbs, he is the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Champion... THE BLADEWOLF!"
"This is the man that undoubtably has earned a ton of respect from all these fans and every WWF superstar back there." JR said. "That man, not even a year in this company, has become the youngest WWF Champion, current Intercontinental Champion, and recently became the 1998 King of the Ring!"
"So impressive, I agree with you." Shawn nodded.
"Shawn, you know what it's like to be in the ring with the Bladewolf." Jerry said.
"Oh yeah." Shawn nodded.
"And you last faced him at WrestleMania for the title. What was that like?" Jerry asked.
Shawn shook his head. "Like facing the Undertaker to be honest but take nothing away from the Bladewolf. I have been impressed with him this year, no matter what he's done, no matter our past issues. He earned the WWF Title at WrestleMania, he's earned my respect and he's earning everyone else's back there. I dare say, if he continues, he may very well become as big and respected as his brother, the Undertaker."
The Bladewolf reaches the ring and climbs onto the apron, stepping foot over the top rope and entering the ring. He pulls his coat hood down before taking off his metallic, Predator-style mask and hands it to someone outside the ring. He than takes off his coat as his theme dies down, only for Vader's to play.
"And his opponent, from the Rocky Mountains, weighing in at 456 lbs, the man they call... VADER!" Tony Chimel announced.
Vader makes his way out and down the ramp towards the ring as the Bladewolf waits, watching Vader without blinking as the camera zooms in on his dark brown eyes seen through the mask's eyeholes.
"This is gonna be a slobberknocker between the Bladewolf and Vader." JR said. "We've still got that WWF Tag Title match tonight between The New Age Outlaws and Kane and Mankind. And Bladewolf, at Fully Loaded, will defend his Intercontinental Championship against the Rock and Triple H in a Triple Threat match."
As Vader entered the ring, the lights suddenly went out... and then Kane's theme played.
"Oh come on." Jr said. "What is going on here? That's Kane's music."
The pyro explodes and Kane comes out, followed by Paul Bearer and Mankind.
"Here he comes, the demonic Kane." JR said. "And there's so much speculation. Were Kane and the Undertaker in cahoots last week? How did Undertaker get Kane's wrestling attire? And what is Kane doing out here?"
"You think the Bladewolf's in on it?" Jerry asks. "That he knows about his brothers working together? I mean, they are brothers! Bladewolf is their brother, he's got to be in on it!"
"That doesn't explain Kane's presence out here." JR said.
"Well, Bladewolf is his little brother. He's probably out here to watch." Shawn shrugs.
Kane stops at the end of the ramp, raises his arms and throws them down which makes the turnbuckles explode with fire. Bladewolf, seeing vader distracted with Kane, runs up and attacks him from behind and the bell rings.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
"And here we go." JR said as the Bladewolf punches away at Vader in the corner. "These two behemoths going one-on-one for the first time."
Bladerwolf Irish whips Vader off the ropes and takes him down with a clothesline but Vader gets back up quickly. Bladewolf eyes Vader before landing a huge right hand, knocking Vader back. Bladewolf runs backwards, bounces off the ropes... AND HITS A LEAPING CLOTHESLINE!
"What athleticism by the Bladewolf." JR said as Vader gets to his feet.
"That is the real Kane there, right?" Jerry asks.
"Well, Mankind's there and so is Paul Bearer." JR said.
Bladewolf gets Vader in the corner and hammers away with a fury of lefts and rights, forcing Vader to cover up as Bladewolf keeps up the assault on the man they call Vader. The referee tries to stop it but backs off when the Bladewolf whirls on him.
"Bladewolf with a fury of lefts and rights." JR said.
"I think Bladewolf is involved in this whole thing with the Undertaker and Kane." Jerry said as Bladewolf delivers a kick to Vader's chest, followed by a huge right hand.
"And what makes you think that?" Shawn asks.
"Well... they are brothers!" Jerry points out as Bladewolf Irish whips Vader across the ring into the corner.
"True, but do remember Bladewolf has been on Undertaker's side during this sibling rivalry between the brothers." JR pointed out.
Bladewolf runs at Vader who comes out the corner and collides with Bladewolf, causing the masked man to stumble a step. Vader runs, bounces off the ropes and takes Bladewolf down with a clothesline, but Bladewolf sits up right away, tilting his head as he starts getting to his feet when vader grabs him and hits a forearm to the back of the head, making the Bladewolf stumble into the corner. Vader starts t punch away on Bladewolf who takes the blows without covering up before he headbutts Vader, knocking him back.
"What a headbutt there." JR said. "Vader is not easy to take down, and the Bladewolf is unstoppable."
"Yeah, it's King Kong vs Godzilla." Jerry chuckles.
"Well, it ain't David vs Goliath, I'll tell you that." Shawn said.
Vader stumbles from the headbutt, and Bladewolf rushes fourth with a big boot to Vader's face, knocking the big man into the corner. Bladewolf runs, hits the turnbuckle clothesline and then runs, bounces off the ropes and clothesline Vader down. Bladewolf looks over at Kane as he adjusts his elbow pads.
"Bladewolf, locking eyes with his brother Kane." JR said as Kane stared back at his brother. "And Kane is staring right back. Of course, Kane and Mankind will face the team of Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Undertaker at Fully Loaded."
Bladewolf turns only to get a clothesline from Vader, who drags Bladewolf to the turnbuckle and starts going to the middle rope.
"Oh, we know what's coming next." JR said.
"Oh yeah!" Shawn nodded.
Vader goes up to the second rope before he jumps off... AND HITS THE VADER BOMB!
"Vader Bomb!" JR exclaimed.
"I know what that feels like!" Shawn said.
Vader hooks the leg. "Now the cover!" Jr said.
"One-!"
Bladewolf kicks out.
"He kicked out at one!" JR said.
"Wow, never seen anyone take a Vader Bomb and manage to kick out at just one." Shawn said.
"The Bladewolf is unstoppable." jerry said.
Vader gets to his feet before he runs, bounces off the ropes and hits a running elbow drop to the chest of Bladewolf. Vader goes for the cover again.
"One!"
"two-!2
Bladewolf kicks out at two this time.
Vader gets to his feet and grabs the Bladewolf, Irish whips him off the ropes. Bladewolf bounces off the ropes, ducks a clothesline attempt by Vader. Vader turns around... AND IS GRABBED BY THE THROAT!
"Oh no!" Jerry said.
"Vader caught!" JR exclaimed.
"Someone's going for a ride!" Shawn laughed.
Bladewolf lifts Vader up... AND HITS THE CHOKESLAM!
"Chokeslam! Bladewolf hits the Chokeslam on Vader! That's a 456 lbs man he just lifted with ease!" JR exclaimed.
Bladewolf flips his hair back before he grabs Vader and pulls him to his feet, then lifts him onto his shoulders ina fireman's carry.
"Oh no. No one has been able to kick out of this!" JR said.
Bladewolf... HITS THE WOLF'S WRATH!
"The Wolf's Wrath!" JR shouted. Bladewolf covers Vader. "Now the cover!"
"One!"
"Two!"
"Three! Ring the bell!" The referee called.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
The Devil's Wolf plays as Mankind grabs a steel chair and enters the ring, Bladewolf unaware of it. Mankind rears the chair back, looking to hit Bladewolf... WHEN KANE GRABS THE CHAIR OUT OF MANKIND'S HANDS!
"What the? Mankind was going to nail the Bladewolf with that chair, but Kane took the chair from him!" JR said.
"I was right! I was right! Bladewolf's in on this!" Jerry said.
Kane and Bladewolf stare at each other... BEFORE KANE HITS VADER WITH THE CHAIR!
"What is going on here?" JR asked.
"I'm completely lost." Shawn shook his head.
"Oh it's obvious guys." Jerry said. "The Undertaker, Kane and the Bladewolf are united! They are in cahoots! It started last week, and I bet Bladewolf is in on it! It is his brothers after all."
"We don't know that!" JR threw a hand up.
Kane and company leave as Bladewolf watches, just staring after his brother.
Later
The current match is Owen Hart and the Rock vs Triple H and X-Pac. Rock cuts off X-Pac with a Samoan Drop and tags in Owen for a flying elbow drop for two. Ross asks Michaels what his relationship is with DX – he's just cool doing commentary right now. Owen whips X-Pac hard into the corner and delivers a Belly to Belly Suplex for two. X-Pac tries a crossbody out of the corner, but Owen ducks and X-Pac crashes. Rock tags in and pounds away in the corner. X-Pac comes back with a spinning heel kick, but Rock floors him with a clothesline. Time for the People's Elbow for 1-2-NO! Sick of what's going down, Triple H and Chyna stick their noses into the match allowing Rock to punch X-Pac in the dick. Rock goes over to yell at Chyna, Owen heads down the apron to yell at Chyna thus distracting the ref, and Triple H wallops the Rock in the face with the European title. X-Pac rolls over onto the Rock for 1-2-NO! The Rock knocks Triple H off the apron, but turns around into the X-FACTOR as X-Pac picks up the upset win.
As Triple H and X-Pac leave the ring... THE BLADEWOLF COMEs OUT FROM UNDERNEATH IT!
"What the?!" Shawn shouts.
"Where did he come from?!" Jerry shouts.
"The Bladewolf came out from underneath the ring!" JR exclaims.
Bladewolf slides into the ring, grabs the Rock and Owen by their throats, lifts them up... AND PLANTS THEM WITH A DOUBLE CHOKESLAM!
"What the hell is this all about?" Shawn wonders.
"It'd a message!" JR said. "The Bladewolf is sending a message to the Rock and Triple H for Fully Loaded. Those three will square off for the Intercontinental Championship!"
Later
After the Steve Blackman vs Marc Mero match, the next match was Kane and Mankind vs The New Age Outlaws for the WWF Tag Team Championship. As Kane and Mankind enter the ring however...

"What's he doing out here, JR?" Jerry asks.
"Well... Kane did come to ringside for his match at the start of the show. Maybe Bladewolf just wants to do the same thing for Kane." JR shrugs. "Why don't you go ask him, King?"
"I wouldn't." Shawn shook his head. "The Bladewolf goes where he wants to go, walks where he wants to walk. If he wants to come out here and watch his brother's match, he's going to do just that and ain't nobody brave enough to tell him no or go ask him why he's out here."
Bladewolf comes to a stop at the end of the ramp and just stares as his theme dies down and the lights return to normal.
The referee then calls for the bell to begin the match.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Bladewolf walks around to stand near the announce table, his arms crossed as Mankind starts off with Road Dogg. They lock up before Mankind throws some punches, getting Road Dogg into the corner where Mankind bites his face, causing the referee to get involved.
"Mankind biting the Road Dogg's face." JR said.
"Do you think the Bladewolf was sent out here by the Undertaker?" Jerry asks.
"What?" JR asked, confused.
"Well, the Bladewolf answers to no one by the Undertaker himself, so..." Jerry trails off, letting them get the point.
"It's possible, but I think the Bladewolf is out here because he wants to be." Shawn said. "Like I said, the Bladewolf goes where he wants to and nobody will tell him differently."
Mankind Irish whips Road Dogg across the ring and goes for a turnbuckle clothesline but Road Dogg raises his boot to connect with Mankind's face. Road Dogg then lunges forward and connects with a hard clothesline. Road Dogg grabs Mankind's left arm and twists on it, delivering some hits to the shoulder. Road Dogg then reached over and tags in Billy Gunn.
Gunn comes in and delivers some clubbing blows to Mankind's injured shoulder, the shoulder that got injured during his Hell in a Cell match with the Undertaker at King of the Ring. Gunn twists the arm but Mankind starts fighting back with punches to the forehead of Gunn, then connects with a headbutt which makes Gunn release him. Mankind bounces off the ropes and goes for a clothesline, but Gunn stops him, grabs the arm and hits an armbreaker DDT.
"Suck it!" Gunn shouted at Kane, doing the DX chop before focusing back no Mankind, who rolls out of the ring.
Gunn distracts the referee while Chyna, with the WWF Tag Team belt in hand... CLOBBERS MANKIND FROM BEHIND! The Bladewolf continues to look on from where he stood, doing nothing to help Mankind.
Mankind rolls back into the ring and Gunn grabs him, bringing him over to Road Dogg who he tags in. Still targeting the injured left shoulder, Road Dogg delivers a kick to it as Gunn gets back out onto the ring apron. Road Dogg twists the arm as Mankind tries fighting back with some right hands, the two men on the ropes now before Road Dogg released Mankind only for Mankind to punch him, giving the deraned man some time to breath as Road Dogg leaned in the corner.
Mankind runs at Road Dogg, looking for a shoulder tackle but Road Dogg moves out of the way... AND MANKIND'S LEFT SHOULDER HITS THE METAL RING POST!
Road Dogg grabs Mankind and tags in Gunn again. Gunn tries a double sledge from the middle rope, but flies down into the MANDIBLE CLAW. Road Dogg punches Mankind in the face to stop that. Tag to Kane, Road Dogg prevents Gunn from taking a Chokeslam, but Gunn still gets nailed with a clothesline by Mankind. To the floor, Mankind whips Billy knees first into the steps.
Meanwhile, the Rock and Owen Hart waltz down the aisle. Gunn and Mankind collide to set up the HOT TAG TO ROAD DOGG!
Shake Rattle and Roll to Kane stuns him, but doesn't knock him down. Gunn grabs Mankind for a nice piledriver. Together, the NAO punch Kane until he's doubled over for the FAMOUSER.
Triple H and X-Pac head out to beat up Owen and Rock. As Mark Henry comes down to help out, Gunn goes out to even the score and help his DX buddies because he's not in the ring to see D'Lo Brown come out of nowhere to give Road Dogg a Frog Splash while wearing his dreaded chest protector!
While D'Lo makes a run for it, Kane delivers the TOMBSTONE to Road Dogg and picks up the win and the tag titles.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Bladewolf watches from where he stood at ringside before he just walks away and leaves.
Later
After the Too Much & TAKA Michinoku vs. Kaientai match had passed, Vince McMahon comes out to the ring and takes a microphone.
"Thank you very much for that warm welcome." Vince said as the crowd booed. "Right now, in a few moments I will address whether or not we will have the Tag Team Championship rematch in this ring, however at this moment I would like to introduce the most demonic, twisted soul in the history of the WWF, as well as his destructive, unstoppable and unpredictable little brother, the Undertaker and the Bladewolf!"
The bell tolls and the Undertaker's theme plays before the Deadman comes out with the Bladewolf at his side. The brothers make their way down to the ring and get inside, facing Vince as Undertaker's theme dies down.
"Well, aren't we proud of ourselves as of late?" Vince asked Undertaker. "My goodness, what won't you do to become the WWF Champion. Let's just revisit Hell in a Cell if we may. Look what you did to Mankind. The only hell was experienced by Mankind, not you. You were making a statement. No thing or nobody will get in your way of becoming the WWF Champion. And then, not withstanding, your brother Chokeslamming just about every WWF Superstar on the roster into oblivion, then you had to go and pull that stunt last week. And I must say... that was a little bit of genius. You fooled everybody, including me, and I'm not easy to fool."
"Right." Jerry nods.
"However, the question is whether or not you are doing this on your own or whether or not, last week, you had some help from your brother Kane. And now, tonight, in Bladewolf's match at the start of the show, Kane comes out to ringside to watch Bladewolf's match with Vader and stops Mankind from hitting him with a chair. And then, the Bladewolf came out to watch the WWF Tag Team title match. And everyone knows that the Bladewolf answers to no one but you. Of course, Bladewolf also does whatever he wants, but I think you told him to do that so that no one would think otherwise."
Undertaker remained silent and stared ahead as did Bladewolf who stood at his brother's side.
"Now you've refused to answer everyone else who's put the question to you, you won't refuse Vince McMahon. Neither of you will." Vince said. Bladewolf and Undertaker looked at him. "The question is, Undertaker, Bladewolf, are you two in cahoots with your brother Kane?"
Undertaker and Bladewolf said nothing, nothing unusual for the latter since he never speaks. Undertaker had a cold glare on his face as he looks at Vince.
"You want an answer from us?" Undertaker asks. He grabs Vince's arm and takes the microphone, looking the WWF owner right in the eyes. "You... can go to hell."
"What?" Jerry blinked as the crowd cheered.
"Who do you think you are?" Vince demanded. However, his false bravedo faltered when the brothers walk towards him, backing him into the corner.
"They're the Undertaker and the Bladewolf." JR answers the question.
Suddenly, Stone Cold Steve Austin's theme hits to a pop from the fans and Bladewolf and Undertaker whirl around to stare at the entrance as the WWF Champion comes out.
"Oh my!" JR said. "Oh my! Business is picking up here!"
"There's my man!" Shawn said.
"Here comes the Rattlesnake!" JR said.
Austin walks down and gets into the ring, walking to the corners and doing his usual pose with his arms raised, raising the WWF Championship as well.
"What's he doing out here?" Jerry asks.
"The same thing he always does, doing whatever he wants." Shawn said.
Austin snatches the microphone from Vince. "The Undertaker just told you to go to hell, so spin around, I'll kick you in the ass and give you a little headstart."
"Ah!" Jerry screamed as the crowd cheered.
"As far as the Undertaker goes, we are on the highway to hell right to SummerSlam for the WWF Title." Austin said as he faces Undertaker. "And I will say at least you had the decency to challenge me man to man, face to face, and I can respect that! But there is a little problem, because on the way to SummerSlam there is a little roadblock. It's me and you as partners against Kane and Mankind. So I don't know what the hell's going on with you and your brothers, but I want to know right now, is it gonna be you and me against two opponents or is it gonna be Stone Cold Steve Austin against four opponents. All I want to know is where the hell you're coming from?"
"Now we're gonna find out." Jerry said.
"Fair question." JR said.
Undertaker takes the microphone from Austin. "You go to hell with him."
"What?" Jerry blinked.
"Woah." Shawn said.
Before anything else can happen, DX's theme hits and the group comes marching to the ring. Bladewolf stares at Triple H, one of the two men he faces at Fully Loaded in 13 days.
DX enters the ring and Triple H grabs a microphone. "You know it seems that everybody here in the WWF wants answer, but with all due respect to probably the three toughest SOBs in this business today, DX would like some answers from you, Mr. McMahon. But before I ask the question, whether the Outlaws get a rematch vs Kane and Mankind tonight, I'm gonna tell you the answer. The answer is yes. They are going to get their rematch tonight. The Outlaws vs Kane and Mankind. And what you're gonna get? You're gonna get to find out whether the Undertaker, Kane and the Bladewolf are in cahoots. What you're gonna do is make the match and give us four referees."
"What?" Jerry asked in confusion.
"One on the outside, and three special enforcers on the outside." Triple H said. "The Undertaker, the Bladewolf and Stone Cold Steve Austin."
"Now that's an idea." JR said.
"You got it! You got the match!" Vince said, looking gleefully at the idea of finding out if the brothers are in cahoots.
"So what you're saying is we got our match? Then we got only two words for you, McMahon... SUCK IT!" Triple H said.
DX's theme plays as they leave the ring.
"Well I'll tell you one thing, if the Undertaker and Bladewolf are working with Kane, we're gonna find out tonight." JR said. "Austin, Undertaker and the Bladewolf special enforcers in a rematch from earlier tonight."
Bladewolf lunges at Vince, who quickly gets out of the ring as RAW goes to commercial break.
The main Event match had arrived. The New Age Outlaws get their rematch against Kane and Mankind for the WWF Tag Team Championship. In the arena, Kane's theme played and he made his way to the ring with Paul Bearer and Mankind at his side
The Undertaker then came out, with the Bladewolf at his side. Then, Stone Cold Steve Austin came out. These three were the special enforcers, and this was all in the hopes of seeing if the Undertaker, Kane and the Bladewolf are in cahoots with each other.
Pissed off after losing the belts, the Outlaws are hot to trot to start. Gunn picks up half the stairs and hits Mankind in the face. With Mankind down, Gunn and Road Dogg tear down Kane at the knees. Now they go after Mankind for a double suplex on the ramp, but Kane knocks them over with a double clothesline before the damage is done. Back in, Kane and Mankind abuse Road Dogg on their side of town.
Kane hits a Side Slam and the Flying Clothesline for two. Mankind delivers a swinging neckbreaker for another nearfall. More corner abuse on Road Dogg. Billy Gunn comes into the ring and simply takes over while Road Dogg goes to the apron. The ref takes a Stinger Splash from Gunn and now he's done. Kane and Road Dogg take center stage. Kane headbutts Road Dogg, but Road Dogg low blows him and puts Kane in an inside cradle!
Austin slides into the ring to count the pinfall, but UNDERTAKER PULLS HIM OUT OF THE RING! Now they go nose to nose. Kane gives Road Dogg a Chokeslam.
Bladewolf saw a subtle nod from Undertaker and slides into the ring, slams his hand down once, then twice, then... AUSTIN PULLS HIM OFF!
Bladewolf gets to his feet and goes eye to eye with Austin, who mouths off to him. Kane then blindsides Austin and Bladewolf doesn't do a thing to help the WWF Champion, instead he starts attacking the Road Dogg while the Undertaker gets in the ring and attacks Mankind.
The Nation comes running down and enter the ring, attacking the Bladewolf and Road Dogg. The rest of D-Generation X comes out to join the party. Austin fights back and gives Kane a STONE COLD STUNNER! Bladewolf fights anyone that's near him. RAW is WAR goes off the air with everyone fighting...
And that's it for this chapter.
