They arrived at the school. Boscha opened the door for everyone as they stepped out to see the school entrance was decorated for the occasion.
"Wow, this place got decorated fast!" Luz said.
"The planning committee worked extra hard to make the dance presentable in a short time." Cat said to Luz.
"So much so that Principal Bump actually PAID them for their work." Gus said with a chuckle.
"Come on, guys, let's go!" Luz said, grabbing Amity and Boscha's hands.
The two girls smiled at Luz as they walked into school in tandem as Skara hooked her arm with Gus, kissing his cheek, while Amelia and Cat walked in with some blushes. Willow was the last one to enter as she smiled for her friends.
'Most of these witches are gay... good for them.' Willow thought.
Once again, Willow was showing that she was the "mom" of the group and was happy for everyone that found someone for the dance. The group went into the gym and saw other students with their dates.
"You know, they had us vote for tonight's king/queens for the dance." Skara said, "And judging by the three crowns with an A, B, and L, jewel incrusted on them, I think I know who the school voted for."
"Who wouldn't know?" Gus replied with a smirk. "Just don't spoil if for them."
"I won't." Skara said.
They slowly held hands, not sure where they stood right now.
"This... feels nice." Gus said.
"Yeah." Skara said.
Gus was nervous yet excited at the same time, it was his first time out with a girl that wasn't just a friend.
"So….after tonight…do you want to go in an official date?" Gus asked her, nervous but not backing down.
"Yes, I'd like that." Skara said to him.
Skara put her arms around his neck and Gus put his hands on her hips.
"So... are we really doing this?" Gus asked.
"We are." Skara said.
They leaned in and pressed their lips together. Meanwhile with Cat and Amelia, they were by the refreshments talking about the obvious dance royalty results.
"Did they really have to make it so obvious?" Cat asked the taller girl.
"You know what's funnier... they still have no idea." Amelia said.
"Sometimes, they're in their own little world." Cat said, "... It... it would be nice to have someone like that though, don't you think?"
"Yeah, I've had a crush on someone for a long time." Amelia said.
"Really? Who's the lucky witch?" Cat asked, holding her punch cup a little harder than normal.
"Well, she's in the healing track, has beautiful brown hair and matching brown eyes." Amelia said, looking at Cat.
'Bo?' Cat thought, remembering the OTHER girl with brown hair and eyes.
"And I just love the way her glasses reflect lights, making her eyes look even more beautiful that ever."
'Glasses... oh!'
Amelia grabbed Cat's hand and smiled.
"So, Kitty Cat, want to date me?"
"Oh, my little Rose Bud, I would love that."
The two leaned close and kisses each other. Boscha, Amity, and Luz looked at the two new couples.
"Well, it seems that they are having a good night." Luz said.
"Ladies and Gentle witches, I know it's still early, but it is time for the crowning of the dance royalty!" Bump announced.
Everyone looked to the stage and saw principal Bump on stage with podium the crowns on it.
"I think it's no surprise to who everyone voted for. So, without further introduction, Amity Blight, Boscha Triplet, and Luz Noceda, please come up here."
A spotlight shines on the trio as everybody clapped for them, happy for them and being able to make it happen since they were the best couple in school. The three went up to the stage and the crowns were placed on their heads. The trio smiled happily as they waved to their fellow students and friends, nothing could ruin this moment for any of them…..except karma.
"It's almost time for the meteor shower." Bump said, opening a part of the roof, revealing a glass roof to see the meteor shower.
The students looked in awe as the meteor's began to fly by. Luz, Amity, and Boscha held hands while smiling... until Luz noticed something.
"Uh... is one of them getting... closer?" Luz asked.
Looking closely, there was something heading towards the school... and it crashed through the glass and let out an ear-piercing roar. Everyone screamed in fear as a strange beast crashed to the middle of the gym, missing the students as they ran for their lives!
"What the hell is that!?" Boscha screamed.
The beast was over seventy feet long, had massive wings that made up it's from limbs, massive teeth with two large saber teeth that protruded from it's mouth, and horns coming out of its head. It's scales were dark red, but morphed into black near its head. It stood on its hind legs and let out another roar. Luz recognized this from a book she read that Eda had.
"It's... it's a Death Glider. B-b-but they're meant to be extinct!" Luz said.
Boscha turned on her armor and pulled out her swords.
"Then let's remind it!" Boscha said.
Amity seemed to agree, even though she hated that she would be ruining her dress, and donned her own armor with her abomination sword.
"Let's send it back to the Savage Age!" Amity said.
Luz followed suit and the three ran at the giant beast. They raised their blades, but it barely scratched the creature.
"ROOOAH!" The death glider roared before swiping all of them away with its wing!
They all landed on the ground with a groan. It walked towards them and opened its massive mouth, ready to eat them, when a large hammer was thrown at it, knocking it to the ground before it got up and shook its head. It looked and saw Willow, wearing her armor.
"Get away from my friends!" Willow said as she used plant magic to pull her hammer back to her hands.
Willow ran at the Death Glider and slammed her hammer its head. It knocked it back, but it got up and flapped its wings, knocking them all back.
"This thing is tough, that hit shook all of town but this thing just waved it off!" Willow said.
"Luz, you said you read about Death Gliders. Any weaknesses?" Boscha asked as they all got up.
"The only thing they had there was it's name and that it was such an effective hunter that it went extinct because it killed all it's prey!" Luz said, "No one's ever seen one and lived!"
"Then we'll have to do this the hard way!" Amity said, "Surround it!"
They surrounded it and attacked, when it's scales changed color to match the surrounding area.
"It can camouflage!?" Boscha screamed.
It reappeared behind Boscha and bit on her arm. It threw her to the other side of the gym and she landed with a bounce. Amity and Willow charged at it, with Amity's sword covered in fire, and Willow's hammer covered in sharp thorns. It let out a sonic roar and made them stop and cover their ears.
"Aaaaaaaah!" They screamed in pain from the sonic roar!
Luz wasn't effected because she was human but it hurt her just as much to see her loved ones in pain! With a growl, the Monado switched to light more and she moved at light speed to jump above the beast.
"SHUT YOUR TRAP!" Luz shouted, switching to ice mode while dropping and slamming her weapon down!
The Death Glider was silenced and it's mouth was iced over before it knocked Luz away. Luz landed on the ground, next to Boscha and Amity. The Death Glider shook it's head and slammed its mouth on the ground, shattering the ice. It roared again and slammed its wings/front limbs on Luz. It's large claws began to go into her armor, cracking it as they went deeper, eventually making Luz scream as its claws began hitting the skin. As the Death Glider's claws started going into Luz's stomach, a boomerang hit its head. It didn't do much, but it did distract it.
"Leave them alone!"
It removed its claws from Luz, who then put her hand against her stomach and made vines wrap around it. Luz looked and saw Gus. The large boomerang returned to his hand as he smirked at them.
"Gus!" Luz called out with a smile.
"I knew it was a good idea to bring that." Boscha said.
Gus threw the boomerang and it made multiple copies of itself. Each hitting the Death Glider.
"Alright, now that we have an extra set of hands, let's take this reptile down." Amity said.
"Wait... reptile?" Luz said, "That's it."
Luz switched the Monado into ice mode and slammed it on the floor, covering the whole floor in ice.
"Luz, what are you doing?" Boscha asked her as they all turned Luz, while Gus joined them.
"It's a reptile... it's cold blooded." Luz said, "Which means if we attack with ice-"
"It will get weakened." Amity realized.
"Exactly!" Luz said before posting to Gus. "Use that bad boy to make it colder!"
"Gladly." Gus said as he activated the ice glyph on the boomerang.
He threw it into the air and it moved around gym, cooling the air. Everyone watched as the Death Glider was slowly being effected, making it stagger a bit but it stayed strong. The beast opened its mouth for another sonic screech before an abomination tendril wrapped around its mouth!
"No more of that!" Amity shouted as she pulled her sword back.
The Death Glider swung it's head, sending Amity to the other side of the room. It opened its wings and flew into the sky.
"We need to follow it." Luz said, "It could attack others if we don't."
Everyone nodded as they summoned their staffs to take flight, even Gus before Boscha tossed him an armor watch.
"Here! You'll need all the protection too." Boscha said.
"Thanks." Gus said as he put it on and activated it.
The group flew after the giant flying creature.
"So, any plans?" Boscha asked.
"Well, it's cold blooded, so let's try and lead it somewhere cold." Luz said.
"Then we drive it to the knee!" Willow said as she pointed toward the coldest point on Bonesborough, the Knee.
"Now how do we get it's attentions?" Amity asked.
"Well... I've been told I'm good at being annoying." Luz said, "I can get its attention."
"Hell no!" Boscha and Amity shouted, denying the idea.
They had JUST gotten Luz therapy about her grief and traumatic experiences, she didn't need more trauma!
"Any other ideas then!?" Luz asked, "We might not have time for something else, we need to do this before it kills someone!"
"If I can suggest something, I have a way for Luz's plan to work without her getting hurt." Gus said, his voice disguised by the armor, as they all turned to him.
'Oh yeah, Gus is an illusionist!' They all thought.
"We make a fake Luz and use that as bait."
"And if it can somehow sense that Luz isn't real?" Boscha asked.
"Do you want to ask or do you want to stop that thing from getting to town?" Gus asked as he pointed to the Death Glider.
"He has a point." Willow said.
"And we don't have time to waste! Let's hurry!" Amity shouted.
They flew close to it, and Gus made the Illusion of Luz. Luz nodded to Gus as she flew lower out of the Glider's sight as Gus made the illusion clone to its vision.
"Hey, ugly! You want a nice juicy human for dinner?! Come and get it!" 'Luz' shouted to his before slapping her butt in front of its face.
Boscha and Amity shook their heads... that's something Luz would do.
'That's not something I would do, Gus!' Luz thought, blushing under her armor as she watched from below!
Either way, it worked to get the monster's attention as it began to fly after 'Luz' as she flew off as fast as she could to the Knee.
"After it! We have to make sure it stays at the Knee!" Willow said as they flew towards the Knee.
They flew after it as it followed "Luz". It landed on the Knee and bit down on the Illusion. The beast didn't think about it until it realized that there was no bone, flesh, or blood in its mouth!
"Now!" Luz said, as all of them ran at it.
Willow slammed her hammer down, summoning thousands of vines to rise up and hold the monster down! Boscha and Amity switched their blades to fire, so the heat would attract it's attention, while Gus and Luz used ice to freeze it down.
"RAAAAAH!" It screeched but was hit in the mouth with a vine!
"No more screeching out of you!" Willow shouted.
Luz and Gus ran, and Gus threw his boomerang at its tail, while Luz swung at its wings, freezing them to the ground.
"Keep going! We've got it!" Luz shouted as the Death Glider continued to struggle, even if the cold was making it sluggish.
It used its strength to break the vines that kept its mouth shut and let out an ear-piercing roar.
"AAAAAH!" Amity, Boscha, Willow, and Gus screamed as they covered their ears in pain!
Luz growled at the bed again for hurting her friends, gripping the Monado as it changed to fire mode!
"I thought I told you to SHUT UP!" Luz shouted as she swung, blasting a wave of fire into the Glider's mouth and down its throat!
It hurt the creature, but didn't stop it.
"Of course, it's fucking fire resistant too." Luz said.
The Death Glider lunged at her and bit down on her arm. The only thing that's preventing her arm from being severed from the rest of her body was the armor. The Death Glider swung its head and threw her over thirty feet away, making her land near a cliff.
"LUZ!" everyone shouted as they turned to see Luz groaning near the cliff, grasping her weapon tightly as she slowly rose up.
"I need to ask Boscha for more padding in the armor." Luz said to herself.
The creature growled at her, before it lunged at her, tackling her off the cliff. Luz thought fast and grabbed onto the beasts legs as it flew to the ground. This made Luz hit the ground with less impact, but still hurt. She looked around and saw something.
"Great, not only do I have to deal with a Death Glider, but now the Emperor's Coven is here!"
True to her words, a squad of emperor's coven scouts were in the area and pointing their weapons or fingers at Luz. Leading them, was none other than Odalia/Eclipse Enforcer.
"Do you have a hobby or something? This is getting old!" Luz said.
"I do have hobbies. Antiquing, some readings, and seeing you DEAD for all the trouble you've caused me!" Odalia shouted as she pointed her hand out, charging a magic blast.
"Everything that's happen is karma for you being terrible person, wife, and mother!" Luz shouted at her.
Luz got to her feet as the Death Glider growled at Odalia.
"Ah, can't have any of that." Odalia said as she pulled out a remote, pointing it at the beast.
She clicked it and the Death Glider was electrocuted. Luz noticed this and went to run at Odalia.
"Stop it! You're hurting him!" Luz shouted.
"Fire!" A coven scout said as they all opened fire on Luz.
"You try to defend it even when it was sent to kill you?" Odalia questioned.
"I will never turn my back on something being hurt." Luz said slamming her sword on the ground and making a large ice wall to block the Coven.
"Then you are a complete fool." Odalia said before looking to the Death Glider. "Kill her, now."
"No, I can help you!" Luz said.
"Kill her!"
Odalia turned up the energy of the collar, hurting the beast as it was forced to turn to Luz and growl. Luz held up her Monado, not wanting to fight the beast if she knew he's being forced to do this.
"Kill. The. Human." Odalia said.
The Death Glider opened its mouth and was about to bite down on Luz, when a boomerang hit the remote.
"Aaah!" Odalia said in pain as the remote froze over, dropping it to break in the ground as the boomerang returned to Gus.
"Get away from her!" Boscha said.
The coven group looked up to see 4 armored figures jumping down to help Luz, a full blown team to fight them with her. All of them holding weapons that had a different power.
"There's more of you?!" Odalia asked in outrage. "Just how many of you little runts are going to be a thorn in my side?!"
"As many as it takes." Luz said.
"Especially if you're trying to kill our girlfriend." Amity growled out.
"And our friend." Gus added.
Luz held her sword out and pointed it at Odalia.
"Ready to give up?" Luz asked.
Odalia growled at her before firing at the ice wall, breaking it to the rest of the coven squad could help.
"Does that answer your question, human?" Odalia asked her.
"It does." Luz said, "But you forget one thing."
Luz swung her blade and cut the collar off the Death Glider.
"Someone isn't happy to see you."
"ROOOOOOOOAH!" The Glider roared as it charged, not at Luz but at Odalia!
The coven turned its attention on the Death Glider. They began throwing their weapons at it, but it was far stronger. Odalia was the only one that stood a chance as her suit produced enough power to push the beast back!
"Back! Get back!" She said as she fired on it.
The Death Glider fought against the strike, but Odalia's power is too strong. The Death Glider roared in pain before something hit Odalia. Odalia looked and saw a cardinal staff.
"What?" Odalia questioned before she was knocked to the ground.
A person in a black cloak teleported and got between them.
"You're done, Odalia." The mysterious man said.
'Wait, that voice.' Luz thought, recognizing it.
Odalia groaned as she got up and glared at the new enemy, firing a large blast at the Death Glider to knock it away and into some trees to make snow fall on it.
"And who are you?" Odalia asked him.
"Someone trying to redeem themself." He said.
"Or a fool that's come to his death." Odalia said before looking to the others. "Kill him, along with the others!"
Willow slammed her hammer on the ground, tying them up in vines.
"Back off!"
Some tried to get out and use spells but they were further restrained by a wave of abomination muck.
"Stay down!" Amity said to them.
"You have two choices, Odalia." Luz said, "Give up, or die."
"You don't have the guts." Odalia said, "Try it."
Luz held her sword up and... froze... she's never taken a life before and she doesn't think she'll ever be able to. Instead, she switched to the light glyph and swung the blade, blinding Odalia with a wave of light.
"AAAAH!" Odalia shouted as she turned her head away.
"We need to get out of here!" Luz said.
Seeing as the account squad was tied up, Odalai was blinded, and the Death Glider was buried under snow, the group decided to follow Luz's order and leave the Knee via their staffs. Even the black cloaked stranger. Luz had a feeling of who this person was, but decided that she can deal with that later. After her enemies escaped, Odalia uncovered her eyes as her vision returned to see the group had escaped and her troops were trapped in vines and abomination.
"Grrr!" She growled, searching for them but only finding the Death Glider slowly dying from the cold.
"Pathetic creature." Odalia said, kicking the creature in anger.
The Death Glider rose and growled at her. Odalia paled and immediately left her troops to distract it.
"Finish the creature off, it's no use to use anymore!" She said to them quickly firing a magic blast to free them.
It went exactly how you'd expect... the Death Glider lived up to its name, mostly the Death part. The troops were slaughtered as Odalia made her way off the knee.
'Emperor Belos isn't going to be happy about this. At least that beast will die from the cold.' She thought as she flew back to the coven. 'But who was that mysterious person and why did he want to help the human? This is going to take some time to figure out.'
