Ch.19: Bowling for Love

To be frank, Aria found herself amused. That night, she had been sitting at home, watching the evening news with Adagio when she got a phone call. Smiling, she answered it, surprised as she heard my voice asking if she wanted to go bowling.

"Umm... sure!" she giggled, going to get ready. After the call, she told Adagio. Adagio rolled her eyes but allowed it.

"You know, we gotta find you someone" Sonata said, flopping down next to her sister.

"Yeah, maybe" Adagio said. "Say, watch what you want. I gotta go talk to Him."

Sonata nodded at once, knowing whenever Adagio had that time alone, it was serious.

And she had questions.

"Bowling for two" I smiled, telling the cashier. She smiled. "Shoe sizes?"

"13" I said. Aria smiled. "12 for me."

After we were handed the shoes, we made our way to our lane, and sat as we got our names on the screen. After, Aria turned to me.

"Okay, spill it. This isn't just a date, is it?"

I nodded. "I do have a question. It might lead to a long discussion, though. Do you want to wait until after we're done?'

Aria flicked some hair off her forehead and nodded.

"Sure, Davey boy" she smiled, standing up.

We had made a bet during the game. It was on where we went to have our talk. If I won, it would be at the park. If she did, it would be an escapade to the mall for an evening milkshake.

We were tied going into the last frame. Aria grinned, getting a strike. She smirked victoriously, getting another. Then another. The couple next to us congratulated her as I got two strikes. She had beaten me by twenty points.

Aria grinned, striding over to me. "I like big milkshakes" she smirked, taking off her bowling shoes.

Truly, she is amazing.

We were at the mall on the first floor and had stopped by a quite nice milkshake shop. She had ordered a large chocolate one, and I had gone with a strawberry banana.

"Aria" I started. "Earlier today, the voice returned while I was at the school. Luna told me that Twilight and Sunset have heard voices in their heads too. Do you know why this is going on? Sorry if I'm stereotyping, but I figured you might know."

Aria looked at me thoughtfully, then took a drink.

"I wish I did" she said afterwards. "Adagio, Sonata and I have not heard anything in a long while. I have no explanation for you. I'm sorry Davey."

I nodded, frowning a bit. "I don't mind it, you know? I just want to know why."

Aria smiled sympathetically, taking my left hand. "I understand. I wouldn't worry, okay? Just know if things are bad, I'll stand by your side."

"Thank you" I said sincerely, as Aria received a phone call. She answered, putting it on speaker.

"Hi Aria. It's Adagio. I just talked to Him. There's three, and three alone in two senses."

Aria nodded. "Okay. I figured when she said that comment."

"David, don't worry, okay? Just be a teenager. Let this ride play out. No one is going to mind control you or anything. This was meant to be."

I took a deep breath and agreed to let it go for the moment. It would be unhealthy to dwell on. Though I had questions, patience was the leading virtue of the time. I had to find something to do.

The next day, a movie store visit surfaced.
