Sinking Fast-Ch 26
The rest of Friday and all of Saturday passed by fast as everybody worked to make sure that the wedding of their friends Derek and Penelope would go off without a hitch on Monday morning. When Sunday morning rolled around it found everybody excited, especially Derek and Penelope because they knew that in less than 24 hours they would be married to each other.
Fran had fixed some fresh muffins which the family all practically devoured as they sat talking about the wedding, Penelope couldn't stop smiling, she was smiling because in a few short hours Mark and Marcie would be here. It felt like forever instead of just a few weeks since she saw them and she couldn't wait to catch up with her dearest friends, she was so glad that they were going to be able to come to her wedding.
Around 4:00 Derek walked to his mommas door and looked through the peep hole, he grinned as he opened the door and stood Mark and Marcie standing there with huge smiles on their faces. He hugged them both and then stepped aside and said, "come in, come in" and after they stepped inside he shut the door and led them to the others who were sitting outside on the patio laughing and talking.
When Penelope saw Marcie she squealed and jumped up and ran over to her, everybody watched as the two friends hugged, Marcie laughed and said, "congratulations Penelope, we are both so happy for you and Derek". She then walked over to Derek and hugged him and said, "congratulations my friend, I am so glad that you have found an amazing woman like Penelope to share your life with".
Derek grinned and said, "thank you, me too, I can't imagine my life without her in it", Penelope winked at him and said, "well after tomorrow mister you are stuck with me for the rest of your life". Derek brushed his lips against hers and said, "I can't think of a better way to spend the rest of my ilfe goddess" and she blushed and said, "I love you" as his lips descended on hers.
They pulled apart to the sound of a cell ringing, Hotch pulled his cell from his pocket and said, "excuse me I have to take this" and he walked inside and shut the door behind him. While he was inside the others got caught up on everything that had been going on and Penelope couldn't wait to fill her in on all of the wedding plans.
Marcie smiled as she looked down at the smallest members of the family Jack and Henry, she fell in love with the little boys instantly and then she said, "when Aaron gets back I have something, well we have something to tell everybody". It was only a matter of a few seconds before Hotch walked back outside and said, "sorry for the interruption but I was just informed from one of the detectives on your case" as he pointed to Mark and Marcie".
Marcie said, "informed what"?, Hotch said, "Ricardo and his band of misfits were killed a few minutes ago trying to escape police custody during a jail break, they were killed by the guards as they tried to flee the jail". Marcie sighed and said, "is it wrong of me not to be sad that they're all dead"? Dave said, "not at all, after everything they have put you four through I'm not sad that they're gone either" and everybody nodded their heads in agreement.
Penelope said, "now that bossman is back, what was it that you wanted to tell us Marcie"?, she intertwined fingers with Mark and said, "we found out this morning that we're pregnant" and Penelope squealed again as she hugged her best friend". Derek shook hands with Mark and said, "congratulations man, that's awesome news, you two will make amazing parents" and Penelope said, "how far along are you"? Marcie said, "around 8 weeks so that means that I was a couple of weeks pregnant when all of that crap with Ricardo went down".
The family then circled around the happy couples and hugged Marcie and Mark and congratulated them on the wonderful news that they would soon be bringing a bundle of joy into the world. Mark sighed and said, "we had been trying for a while and then we just took a weekend off and when we got our minds off of everything but each other I guess mother nature took it's course because now we're going to have a little one and I can't wait".
Marcie grinned and said, "me either, I can't wait to hold my son or daughter in my arms", Mark looked down at his watch and said, "honey we need to head out, we don't want to be late for our reservations". Everybody then gathered their things and headed to the door and as Dave shut and locked the door behind him he smiled as he watched his family climb into their vehicles, he wanted everybody to enjoy tonight because tomorrow was going to be long and exhausting on everybody but everything would well be worth it.
It wasn't long before they were all pulling up in front of the restaurant and climbing out of their cars, Mark had requested the room in the back and when they stepped inside everything was ready and waiting on them. They had an amazing night laughing, talking, eating and dancing with their family and around 11:00 everybody was snuggled into their beds wrapped in the loving arms of the ones they loved.
As Derek laid there holding on to his baby girl he couldn't help but smile because he knew that soon, very soon the love of his life would become Mrs. Derek Morgan and he couldn't wait. When he drifted off to sleep he did so with a huge smile on his face and all of his dreams were of course about his bride-to-be and their future together.
