Important Note: In this story, I will mostly follow the dragon ball kai series. But, for some scenes, I'm going to use the original Ocean dub. Just to let you know.
Chapter 8: The terrible Saibamen unleashed. Nappa the invincible.
"I'm curious about what's going to be happening next," Levi said with a smile.
"Yeah, me too. I just hope those people will be okay," said Lucy with a worried look.
Natsu clenched his fists. "Let's hope so."
Malia sighed on the inside. This wasn't going to be pretty.
"Now, before we continue this reaction. The next scenes that you all are about to see are not a pretty sight. So if you want to leave, you can. I will call you back when the scenes get more pleasant."
Charla looked at her best friend. "Are you okay to go through with this, child?"
Wendy gave the exceed a determined look. "Yes, I'm going to be fine. I'm almost 13. I can't be scared of this."
All the mages gave the teenager a soft smile.
Malia chuckled at the child's bravery. "Very well. Then let us continue with the reaction."
The screen started to show images of what happened last time. With the also charming storyteller in the background.
"Last time. The Saiyans have arrived. Time to find out whether Goku's intense training regiment with King Kai will give him the strength he needs to withstand these powerful foes."
"Let's hope so," said Mira with a frown.
Natsu grinned. "Don't worry. Goku will win. I have no doubt."
"Aye," said Happy with a cheer. "Those meanies won't know what hit them."
"Back on Earth. Goku's friends have used the Dragon balls to wish him back to life. But before he can join them on the battlefield. He first needs to reach the end of Snake way. Will he make it in time? The race is on, now."
"He has to make it on time," said Canna worriedly. "If he doesn't…."
The card mage didn't continue her sentence. She just clenched her fist in fright.
Gildarts smiled softly at his daughter. "I'm sure it's going to be fine."
The screen began to show Vegeta and Nappa. The crowd of people began to get antsy and scared.
"Who are they? What are they," said a man in the crowd with a frightened look.
Vegeta smirked. "They call this place Earth, right? It's not so bad as I was expecting."
The mages frowned at Vegeta.
"This guy is dangerous," thought Gildarts with a narrowed look.
"Yeah, but before we start with the sightseeing. How about we say hello to the locals," said Nappa with an evil smile.
Vegeta chuckled. "Go easy on them."
"What is he planning to do," said Wendy with a worried look.
When Erza caught the hand movement that Nappa was making. She began to widen her eyes in fright.
"NO," she yelled.
But there was nothing she could do. A big white glow of destructive energy began to expand at amazing rate. The screams of thousands could be heard. All the mages gritted their teeth in frustration and clenched their fists in anger.
"Damm, those bastards," said Natsu with a hateful glare.
Lucy began to let out tears of anger and sadness. "They didn't even have a chance to fight back."
"Those monsters," said Erza with an icy glare.
"All those people," said Wendy with a tearful look. "Gone."
Marakov could feel the magic energy of his children rising at an alarming rate. Even Gildarts magic power began to rise slowly. He didn't blame them for it. He was also beginning to lose his cool. Marakov took a deep breath and calmed down. And he told his children to do the same.
The explosion that followed. Could be seen from miles away. The Z-Warriors tried to protect their eyes from the fearsome winds that Nappa's attack had made.
"Dammit. It must be them," said Tien in anger. "What have those monsters done?"
"Wow, this is intense," said Krillin. Who was holding himself in place by holding a huge boulder.
When the light vanished, and the explosion had ended. Everything in the surrounding area was gone. Only a giant crater was in its place. The mages gave a sorrowful look and bowed their heads. The evil laughter of the Saiyan Nappa made them look back up at the screen.
"I don't think I made a big enough impression. Maybe I should try again?"
"Don't you dare, you filthy Neanderthal," said Juvia with a glare.
Gray put his hands on his girlfriend's shoulder to calm her down.
"It be best if we left it at that, Nappa," said Vegeta, a bit annoyed. "The more damage we do now, the less of a price we get when we sell this planet."
"Oh, right. Well, that's fine. We should probably start looking for those whatchamacallit balls that grant wishes anyway."
Laxus snorted. "What a moron. He can't even remember the correct name."
"Honestly, that guy looks way to dumb to be any sort of threat," said Grey.
"And yet he killed almost an entire city full of people in an instant," said Gildarts with a frown. "So I wouldn't go underestimating him."
Marakov nodded. "Yes, you're right. Though, by the looks of it. It's Vegeta that is the brains of the two. While that Nappa guy just follows orders."
"Well, he is the Prince of the Saiyan race," said Canna with a thoughtful look.
"They're called Dragon balls. And the first thing we need to do is find the one who killed Raditz and extract a little information about their whereabouts."
"Oh yeah," said Nappa with a nod.
"So, they're after Piccolo," said Lisanna with a worried look. "That means they will find Gohan too."
Mira clenched her fists. "Be safe, Gohan," thought the takeover mage.
"Now, of course, if the Dragon balls were being held somewhere in this vicinity. Then our chance to wish for eternal life just went up in smoke, now didn't it," said Vegeta with a glare at his partner. "All because you had to say hello."
"It's not like he didn't do anything to stop him," said Levi with a frown.
"Yeah, for real," said Lucy with a glare.
"S-sorry Vegeta," said the big Saiyan nervously. "Guess I really wasn't thinking. It won't happen again."
"Forget about it. What's done is done. Now, let's try to scoop up the highest power level on this planet. Finding the one who killed Raditz should be as simple as that."
The two Saiyan's turned on their Scouters. And began searching for the highest power level.
All the mages grinned. Those two are in for a surprise.
"Huh," said Nappa surprised. "That's strange. According to my scouter, there are multiple readings for power levels over one thousand. Why would there be so many of them," said Nappa, a bit annoyed.
Natsu smirked. "Baldy is getting flustered."
Happy nodded. "Yeah, he looks like he's going to shake in his boots," said the exceed with a grin.
"Just take it easy," said Vegeta towards his companion. "There's no reason for us to be alarmed. As I said, we find the one with the highest power level and go after him."
"Tch, he's so confident. Not the slightest bit of worry," said Gajeel with a frown.
Panther lily nodded. "I guess that's to be expected. Considering how much power he has."
"I got them," said Nappa with a grin. "Two fairly high readings right next to each other."
"Yes, seems you're right," said the Prince with a smirk. "What do ya say we gonna have some fun?"
All the mages glared at the duo as they flew off toward their targets.
In Kame house, everyone was watching the news. The man on Tv said that they didn't find the source of the sudden Earthquake that was felt moments earlier. And any attempts to contact the nearby City where the shocks originated from were without success.
"No, it's them. It's the Saiyan's they're finally here," said Roshi in distress.
Bulma took the scouter she had repaired and put it on her face. "Let's go then. This thing will exactly tell us where they are."
"Did you see what just happened? There's no way I'm going with you, said Oolong stubbornly."
Erza glared at the pig. "Of course, porky would say that," thought the red-haired beauty.
"Wait, I will go with you, Bulma," said the cat that was named Puar. "I'm sure Yamcha will be there. And he'll need all the help he can get."
"It's very admirable they all want to help," said Marakov with a soft smile. "But right now, the best thing they could do is stay safe."
Mira nodded at her master's words. "You're right. Unfortunately, they don't have the strength necessary to fight these opponents."
"Hold on now," said Master Roshi. "We better not. It wouldn't be a good idea. Our power levels are much to weak to be effective. Our best bet is to stay here and hope for the best."
They all could feel the helplessness in Roshi's voice.
Marakov couldn't blame his fellow elder. If his children had to face a powerful enemy all by themselves without his help. He also would feel frustrated. In fact, it happened when Phantom lord attacked so many years ago. He let his guard down and let one of the element four drain him from his powers. If it wasn't for his good friend Porscelina. He would probably not be alive right now. Marakov clenched his fists. While he was out of action, all his children had to fight Jose and his mages all by themselves. And it hurt Marakov dearly. The master of fairy tail shook his head from those thoughts. And put his attention back to the screen.
Bulma clenched her fists in frustration. "Oh, Goku. Where are you? WE NEED YOU, GOKU!"
The screen changed towards Snake way. Where said Saiyan was still moving along with fast speed.
"Hold on, guys. I'm coming as fast as I can."
"Goku is doing everything in his power to get there on time," said Erza with a soft frown. "There's nothing else he can do, I'm afraid."
Everyone nodded sadly at that.
The screen changed toward the two Saiyans who were still flying towards their target.
Nappa laughed. "This is fantastic. Compared to planet Vegeta, this gravity here is next to nothing. Makes flying around a breeze."
"Uch, that guy is annoying," said Canna.
Evergreen nodded at that.
The image on the screen changed again toward The Z-fighters.
"Here they come. Man, they are moving fast," said Yamcha.
Krillin, who was busy getting his clothes back on. Turned towards the two evil powers, he was sensing. "They're heading in the direction of those other two big powers. That must be Piccolo and Gohan."
"Right you are, Krillin," said Lucy. "So please go there as fast as you can."
"Gohan, be ready. They're coming right for us," said Piccolo.
The young boy nodded at his teacher. "Right."
"He's so determined," said Gajeel with a grin. "I can't believe how much the little tyke has changed."
Levi chuckled at dragonslayer's words. "Yes, Gohan is certainly something else."
Mira's nodded proudly. "I knew he had it in him all along."
Tien and Chiaotzu were flying toward Gohan and Piccolo's location also.
"Chiaotzu, maybe it's best if you stay back home."
"No way," said the little warrior. "I've trained way too hard to just run away. I will fight too."
Everyone smiled at the brave little warrior.
"There's nothing to fear," said Piccolo as he threw away his heavy clothing. "Remember, compared to one year ago, you and I managed to increase our powers tenfold."
"I'm ready," said Gohan with determination.
"I hope so, Gohan," said Mira with a worried look.
"They both have increased their powers by a lot," said Laxus with a frown. "But, I'm afraid it won't be enough to face those Saiyans. Especially, Vegeta."
Gildarts sighed sadly. "Yes, that's true. Let's just hope that everything turns out alright. That's the only thing we can do, unfortunately."
"Right you are," said Marakov.
Piccolo suddenly looked shocked. "Someone else is closing in from that direction. And there too. Feels like they got us surrounded."
"Wait, so you mean more than two Saiyans are coming for us," said Gohan surprised.
All the mages chuckled.
"Aren't they in for a surprise," said Bickslow with a grin.
The first person appeared right in front of them with amazing speed.
"Look out, they're here," said Gohan worriedly.
But the person that appeared was no Saiyan. It was a certain bald monk.
"It's Krillin, said Wendy with a smile."
"Hey, long time no see, Piccolo," said the monk with a confident tone.
Laxus grinned. "Well, all be. The little runt has gotten a lot more bolder."
"Yes, and his posture has changed a lot, too," said Erza with a smile.
Piccolo chuckled when he saw who it was. "Oh, it's just you, huh? And what exactly do you think you're doing? You do know that you're just gonna get in the way."
"Does Piccolo really need to start belittling people who came to help him and Gohan fight those Saiyans," said Lucy with a sigh.
"Well, that's Piccolo for ya," said Lisanna with a chuckle.
"Hmph, then again. I'm guessing you won't be the only fool taking part in this."
"Right, the whole gang's coming. I just happened to be the one closest to where you were."
"That's great," said Wendy with a smile. "With all of them fighting together like this. They might stand a chance. Or at least buy enough time until Goku gets there."
"Yes, let's hope so," said Erza.
"Hey, I remember now. You're the one I saw at Master Roshi's place, right," said Gohan towards the monk.
"Yeah, the name's Krillin. You sure have bulked up since the last time I saw you. Almost exactly like Goku when he was your age."
Erza Chuckled at Krillin's words. "Well, he's not wrong."
Mira nodded with a smile.
"And you grew up with my dad, didn't you? He told me lots of stories from back then. So you're the one who used to train to make up for being short."
All the mages had a great laugh at that.
"Oh, poor, Krillin," said Mira with a soft chuckle.
"Hold on," said Krillin, annoyed. "Goku told you what now?"
Their conversation was interrupted by Piccolo. "Hey, you two. Enough of your small talk. They're here."
They all looked towards the sky. And saw the Saiyans hovering in the air.
"It finally begins," said Freed with a serious look.
Bickslow nodded. "Yeah, looks like it."
"Look at what we found," said Nappa with an evil chuckle. "Three pathetic insects doing their best to look tough."
"You can give them credit for one thing. They at least seem to know who we are," said Vegeta.
"Already acting like a bunch of jerks," said Lucy with a glare.
Natsu nodded with a frown.
The Saiyans landed in front of the three warriors.
"It looks like they were waiting for us," said Vegeta with a smirk.
"I'll say this once," said Piccolo with a stoic look. "Forget whatever business you have here and leave this planet. This is your first and last chance to get out of this alive."
Gajeel smirked. "Piccolo is such a baddass."
"He's so cool," said Happy with stars in his eyes.
Charla sighed at her fellow exceed's words.
"That voice," said Vegeta suddenly. "I see. You're the lucky one who was able to kill Raditz."
A few of the mages were surprised.
"How does he know that," said Elfman confused.
Lisanna sighed at her brother's forgetfulness. "Remember, the scouter that Raditz wore big brother. They are also used for communication. Vegeta must have recognized Piccolo's voice."
Elfman blushed in embarrassment.
"Oh, that's right," said Natsu suddenly. "I forgot about that."
"Why am I not surprised," thought Gray with a snort.
"How do you,…"
Vegeta interrupted Piccolo. "Come now, didn't Raditz tell you?" The short Saiyan tapped his scouter. "Our Scouters also work as communicators."
"Hey, I think the green one is a Namekian," said Nappa suddenly.
All mages were confused.
"Namekian," said Lucy curiously. "Is that the name of Piccolo's race?"
"Correct you are, Miss Lucy," said Malia. "Piccolo and Kami are originally from a planet called Namek. So their race is called Namekians."
"Well, it makes sense, " Gray said thoughtfully. "Though I thought for sure he was some kind of demon."
Almost everyone nodded at that.
Mira, however, frowned. "Kami is way too gentle and kind to be a demon."
"And funny," said Wendy with a smile.
"Aye," said Happy with a snicker.
"Yes, no doubt about it. It almost makes sense in a way that Raditz had a hard time with the likes of him. "
"Ok, so what's a Namekian," said Piccolo confused.
Vegeta ignored Piccolo's question. "Not only are they known for having above-average power levels. Namekians are said to have mysterious hidden abilities as well."
"Well, I guess that explains the creation of the dragon balls," said Juvia in thought.
Lucy nodded. "Yeah, that it does."
"So, I'm one of these Namekians," thought Piccolo in shock.
"I also heard that a chosen few are capable of performing tricks. Almost like a magician." Vegeta suddenly smirked. "Aha, you must be the one who created these dragon balls, aren't you?"
"Damm, this guy has some serious deduction skills," said Laxus impressed.
Erza nodded in agreement. "Yes, as evil as he is. I have to admit. He's quite the detective."
"No way," said Krillin shocked. "How can those two know about the dragon balls?"
Nappa smirked. "We not only know about them. It's the main reason we're here. Now just hand them over nice and easy. Your friend may be a Namekian. But you're bugs to us. And you're going to be crushed by our Saiyan power."
"This guy is getting more annoying by the minute," said Canna with a glare.
"Yeah, you got that right. Besides, Piccolo is not going to hand them over the dragon balls that easily. If they want them. They'll have to fight him for it," said Natsu with a grin.
"Hah, is that right? I guess I should start by thanking you for teaching me about my ancestry," said Piccolo with a smirk. "But, you're wrong about two things. Firstly, I had no hand in making the dragon balls."
Mira and Lisanna nodded. "Yep, that is Kami's doing," said Lisanna with a smile.
"As you can see," said the Namek as was taking a fighting pose. "I'm more of a warrior than a simple magician."
Erza smiled at that. She really wanted to have a sparring match someday with Piccolo. If that was still possible, of course.
"And you're wrong if you think that you're Saiyan power will safe you from me."
"SO BADDASS," yelled Natsu with stars in his eyes.
Happy cheered. "Piccolo is so awesome."
The mages didn't express themselves as much as Natsu and Happy. But they still had grins on their faces.
The screen changed towards Kami and Mr. Popo. The Guardian of Earth had a shocked look on his face.
"Oh, Kami," said Popo sadly.
"I, I had no idea. For the first time in my life, I've heard about my origin. Now I know why I have always possessed special powers."
"It must have been quite the shocker for Kami," said Lisanna sadly. "To find out that the planet you lived all your life is not your real home."
"Yes," said Mira with a sad look. "The same could be said about, Goku."
"It's true. I'm the one who created the dragon balls a very long time ago. It all makes sense now. I attempted to create the dragon balls in answer to a deep yearning. When I finally succeeded. I felt as I had made it home. Or rather, a piece of home founds it way to me," said Kami with a soft frown.
"Oh, Kami," thought Lisanna sadly.
"That's the saddest thing I have ever heard," said Happy, who was bawling his eyes out.
Charla sweatdropped. "Yes, I know it's a sad story, Tomcat. But don't exaggerate."
The screen changed back toward the Saiyans and our three heroes.
"Nappa, take off your scouter," said Vegeta, as he took of his own.
"What," said the giant confused.
"These pests are able to raise and lower their power levels in response to their opponent. Which makes our Scouters totally unreliable."
"Right, good thinking, Vegeta. I remember now. That's how that weakling Raditz got himself killed. He got fooled by his scouter's readings and dropped down his guard."
"How can those two speak so badly about their former comrade like that," said Juvia with a frown. "Bardock never treated his fellow Saiyans like that."
"I don't know," said Gray with gritted teeth. "But it really disgusts me."
"Bardock was considered a low-Class warrior. The lower-class Saiyans treated each other as equals. While the higher-ranking Saiyans only saw those with great power to be worthy. And they would belittle those who had lower strength," said Malia.
"How disgusting," said Erza with a frown. "Making fun of others just because they're not as strong as you are. That's so wrong."
Everyone nodded at the Requip mage's words.
"Raditz," said Krillin shocked. "Isn't he the Saiyan that was so tough that you and Goku had to team up on him? And still, you were just barely able to beat him. They calling him weak?"
"Don't get discouraged now, Krillin," thought Lucy.
"Alright, enough talking," said Vegeta. "Let's see how these pests handle themselves in action. Hey, Nappa. We still have six of those Saibamen left, don't we? Get them ready, would you."
All the mages were again confused.
"Saibamen," said Evergreen. "What are those," said the green-haired woman curiously.
Elfman shrugged his shoulders. "Beats me."
"Oh, Vegeta," said the giant Saiyan with a smirk. "You and your twisted sense of humor."
"Saibamen," said Krillin confused.
"What are they," said Gohan hesitantly.
Nappa took out a small glass container from his pocket. The mages could see a bunch of green seeds in them.
"Are those seeds," said Lisanna, confused.
Erza had a bad feeling about this.
"Yep, looks like six it is," said Nappa with a smirk.
With his finger, the giant Saiyan began to make six small holes in the ground. And he put one seed in each of them.
"This soil should do nicely. Soon, you'll be telling us everything we wanna hear."
Erza frowned. "I have a feeling something bad is going to happen."
Mira nodded at her comrade.
The bald Saiyan began to give the seeds he had buried a few drops of some green liquid. And soon after, six ugly green monsters appear from the ground.
"Yuck," said Lucy with a grossed-out look. "What the heck are those things?"
"Cabbage people," said Natsu with a thoughtful look.
"Eeew," said Happy, disgusted. "I hate cabbages."
"Those are not Cabbages, Tomcat," said Charla with a sweatdrop.
"Whatever they are, they're ugly as hell," said Gajeel.
Everyone could only nod at the dragonslayer's words.
"Yuck, they're gross," said Krillin. "At least they're shorter than I am."
The mages chuckled at that.
Vegeta gave the Saibamen the order to attack. And they rushed the three warriors. Gohan was hesitant to attack. And he began to lose his nerve.
"Oh, no. Gohan is still too afraid to attack," said Wendy with a worried look.
"I was afraid this was going to happen," said Mira sadly. "No matter how strong Gohan is. He is still only four years old. He never experienced the battlefield until now."
"Yes, that's true," said Lisanna with a sad frown.
A Saibamen appeared suddenly behind the frightened boy. And he struck him hard.
"GOHAN," yelled everyone worriedly.
But before the Saibamen could advance on the scared boy. Piccolo stood before him protectively. Everyone smiled at that. Even Mira.
Not soon after, Tien and Chiaotzu arrived on the battlefield.
Tien looked at his opponents. "I thought there were supposed to be only two Saiyans."
"Well, things kinda changed. Now there are eight," said Krillin with a frown.
"Two or eight makes no difference to me," said Tien with a confident tone.
Laxus smirked. He liked this Tien guy.
"Who's the kid? Is that Goku's little boy?"
"Yep, this is Gohan. Piccolo is the one who has been training him," said Krillin.
Tien gave a soft smile. "I see. He looks strong. Just like his dad."
Erza and Canna smiled at that.
"Tien really respects Goku, doesn't he," said Mira with a smile.
"Well, he did fight Goku when he was a kid. Maybe they're old rivals," said Gildarts with a chuckle.
Not soon after, The last member of Z-warriors appeared.
"Hey, sorry I'm late," said Yamcha.
Natsu grinned. "Hey, it's the guy who looks like Goku."
Everyone sweatdropped at Natsu's words.
"It looks like Goku is the only one who hasn't shown up yet," said the former bandit.
The mages frowned at that. They could only hope that Goku would arrive in time to save his friends.
"Well, well, six people against six of our Saibamen. How about this? Each of you can take turns fighting our Saibamen. Let's see what happens. You know, a game," said Vegeta with a smirk.
The mages glared at the Saiyan's cocky attitude.
"This guy really gets on my nerves. It's really hard for me to believe that this Vegeta guy will turn good in the future," said Gray with a frown.
"Yeah, to be honest, I also have my doubts," said Lucy in denial.
"We're not here to play games," said Piccolo angrily. "And we're not going to fight on your terms. We take you all on at once."
"That isn't such a good idea," said Gildarts with a frown. "They don't know what kind of abilities these Saibamen have. They can easily take advantage of that."
Marakov nodded. "Yes, and fighting them one on one gives them actually the upper hand. The others can study these Saibamen's moves and make a good strategy to counter them."
Erza nodded. "And these one-on-one battles will also stall for time until Goku gets there."
Krillin tried to calm down the Namekian. "Wow, wow. Easy now. Maybe it's not such a bad idea after all. This game will buy us some time until Goku gets here."
Erza nodded with a smile. "Yes, that's true, Krillin. Very good thinking."
Tien was the first one who stepped up.
"I'm up for it," said the three-eyed man as he put his fists together. "These little creeps don't scare me. I could use a good warm-up."
"Yeah, now that's a real man," said Elfman with a grin.
Nappa laughed. "That's the spirit. Fresh meat for the grinder. But give it a minute. You won't be so cocky when you see what these little creeps can do."
"You can do it, Mr. Tien," said Wendy with a cheer.
"Aye, make those cabbage monsters go away," said Happy.
"Again, Happy," said Charla with a sigh. "They're not Cabbage people."
The blue cat blushed in embarrassment.
"You're up first," said Vegeta towards a Saibamen. "Hit him as hard as you can, got it?"
The Saibamen nodded.
The green monster rushed Tien. But the bald warrior let out a shockwave that made the creature fly backward. Tien rushed the Saibamen. But the monster recovered. The Saibamen suddenly did something that made most fairy tail members green in the face. The top of his head opened up, and a great amount of white liquid sprayed out of it.
"What the heck is that," said Gajeel, a bit disgusted.
"I don't know. But whatever it is. It can't be good," said Erza with a frown.
Tien and all of the Z-fighters behind him avoided it. Gohan was scared and didn't move. But luckily, Piccolo came to his rescue again.
Mira sighed in relief at that.
The liquid made the ground dissolve in a matter of seconds.
"Phew," said Gray. "That was a close one."
"Yes, it sure was. They all have to make sure that they avoid that dangerous liquid at all costs," said Marakov seriously.
Tien suddenly appeared behind the Saibamen. The creature flew into the air to dodge his opponent's attack. But the three-eyed followed him. And with incredible speed, he appeared in front of the little imp and gave a devastating elbow blow in the stomach that made the Saibamen fall down on the ground and ended the fight in an instant.
The mages cheered.
"Yeah, he did it," said Natsu with a grin.
"And he did it with such ease," said Lucy, amazed. "All that training has really paid off."
"Yes, they all have surpassed Raditz in power," said Mira with a smile.
Laxus frowned. He had to admit. Goku's friends had all improved a lot. But, those Saiyans were still a great problem. He just hoped this game would provide enough time for Goku to arrive.
"Yeah," cheered Chiaotzu.
"Way to go, Tien," said Krillin with a smile. "That'll show them."
"Awesome," Gohan said with amazement.
"There's no way," said Nappa shocked. "A Saibamen's power level is 1200. Every one of these guys are supposed to be as strong as Raditz was."
Lucy smirked. "Looks like somebody is getting scared."
Lisanna nodded with a grin.
Gildarts frowned. "No, I don't think so. Annoyed, yes. And Vegeta is not even flustered."
Marakov gripped his cane tightly. "I'm afraid this is only a minor convenience for them."
"All that means the three-eyed freak is stronger," said Vegeta."
"Who is he calling a freak," said Juvia with a glare. Juvia knew how it felt to be different. When she was young, she was always excluded from the other kids because of her abilities. Children and even some adults called her names that hurt a lot. Her darling Gray and Fairy tail were the first who accepted her for who she was. Gray put his arm around her to comfort her. Juvia blushed at the sudden move her darling Gray did. But she smiled and eventually calmed down.
Nappa started to stutter. "But, but I… "
Vegeta smiled. "A simple miscalculation."
"But the data says…"
Levi smirked. "That just means you're information is outdated, Neanderthal."
Everyone chuckled at script mage words.
"It's fine," said Vegeta with a chuckle. "If anything, this should make our little game more entertaining."
Everyone frowned at that. But the next scene took them off guard. Vegeta pointed two fingers towards the beaten, but still alive Saibamen. Not for long, though. A ball of blue energy began to appear on the little imp. The last thing the Saibamen felt was betrayal and fear. And soon after, he exploded. Guts and body parts flew everywhere.
Wendy's eyes widened in horror at the gruesome scene. "No, why would he do that? That creature was his own ally." She had almost thrown up.
"He's ruthless," said Erza with a glare. "No hint of sympathy whatsoever."
"V-Vegeta," said Nappa, a bit startled. "What was that for?"
Vegeta smirked evilly. "He made the grave mistake of underestimating his opponent." He then turned his attention toward the other Saibamen. Who were scared and shaking in terror. "And believe I specifically told him to hold nothing back," The Saiyan Prince said with a cold look.
"He's really is as evil as they come," said Lisanna with a frown.
Mira could only nod at her sister's words.
"Man, this guy's a creep," said Krillin.
"He's ruthless. If this is the way, he treats his allies. I'll don't expect him to show any mercy to his enemies," thought Piccolo.
"Yes, I'm afraid so," said Marakov with a frown.
"Do you still think Vegeta is cute, Canna," said Lucy.
The card mage snorted. She had a disgusted look on her face. "Right at this moment, hell no."
"Now, who wants to be next," said Vegeta with an evil smirk.
"Yeah," said Krillin determined. "I'm ready for ya."
"Way to go, Krillin," said Natsu with a smile. "I may have to change my opinion about you after this fight."
But the bald monk was stopped by Someone.
"Hold on, Krillin."
"Yamcha," said Krillin surprised.
"Let me have a crack at them. I think it's time I show these thugs nobody comes to Earth and pushes us around."
Natsu sighed. "Oh, well. I guess it can wait."
"But, Yamcha. I'm just as capable as…."
Yamcha interrupted Krillin. "You already have been wished back with the dragon balls before, I haven't. So, if anything bad does happen, at least we know I can be revived."
"Well, that's true," said Lucy hesitantly.
"Let me take care of this one. I'm gonna wipe out all five of them at once."
"WHAT," yelled Lisanna, surprised. "He's going to fight all five of them?"
Laxus frowned. The lightning mage didn't know Yamcha at all. However, he did noticed something about him. And that was the tone he spoke with. Laxus felt a slight hint of cockiness in it. He just hoped Yamcha wouldn't underestimate his opponent and drop down his guard.
"Awww, look at the friends, so precious." Said Nappa with a sarcastic voice.
"Just because you don't value friendship as they do. That doesn't give you the right to mock them, meathead," said Canna with a glare.
Every mage nodded at Canna's words. The bonds of friendship they had with each other made them much that much stronger. They valued their bonds with one another above anything else. That's what made Fairy tail the number one Guild in all of Fiore.
"Well, what are you waiting for," said Nappa towards a Saibamen.
The green creature began to step forward.
"Alright then. Let's get this over with, c'mon," said Yamcha with a cocky look.
The screen changed shortly towards Goku. Who was still making quick progress along Snake way.
"I don't know why, but I got a terrible feeling all of a sudden. Hold as long as you can, Piccolo. I won't stop until I'm there. I promise."
"A terrible feeling," said Lucy surprised. "Oh, no. I hope Yamcha is going to be okay."
Laxus frowned. "I hope so too. But, I noticed that Yamcha, whenever he speaks or talks about his enemies. He has a cocky attitude and a hint of arrogance in his tone."
Everyone nodded at that.
"Yeah, I noticed that too," said Gildarts with a sigh. "I just hope he's going to be alright."
The screen showed the start of the battle between Yamcha and the Saibamen. They suddenly vanished in thin air. The fairy tail members could still see glimpses of their movements. However, it was still a bit difficult to do since this was just a memory.
"They vanished," said Gohan in shock.
"No, Gohan. They're just moving incredibly fast. Try to feel out their energies like I taught you," said Piccolo with a stern look.
"Do you think Gohan is able to do that," said Wendy, curious.
Mira chuckled. "Oh, I have no doubt that Gohan will succeed."
Erza nodded with a smile. "Yes, I'm also sure he will get this skill down no problem."
"Feel their energy," said Gohan hesitantly.
"C'mon, you're the only one who can't see them."
The screen showed an image of Krillin and Chiaotzu, who were following the battle intently.
"Damm, I wish I was there in person. It's difficult to feel their power since this is only a memory," said Gray annoyed.
"Yeah, it sucks," said Natsu with a frown.
"Deal with it, brats," said Marakov. "There is nothing we can do about it."
"What? Everyone but me," said Gohan surprised.
"Concentrate. Let your body take in your surroundings," said Piccolo.
The boy began to follow his teacher's instructions.
"See with my body, not my eyes."
"You can do it, Gohan," said Wendy supportively.
Natsu grinned. "Hell yeah, he can do it. He is Goku's son, after all."
Everyone chuckled at that.
The boy's surroundings began to look a lot darker, almost like time had slowed down. He and the mages began to hear the sounds that the two combatants were making.
"That boy truly is a prodigy," said Marakov with a smile. "To be able to learn such a technique in the midst of battle and at such a young age is really incredible."
Gildarts nodded at that. "Yes, Gohan is really something else."
It took the boy a few seconds. But he finally began to see small glimpses of the two fighters.
"See them now," asked Piccolo.
The boy finally managed to see their movements. And began to follow his fellow warrior's example.
"I see them," said Gohan with a smile.
"Way to go, kid," said Gajeel with a smile.
"Yeah, and now we can finally follow the fight," said Natsu with a grin.
Both Saibamen and Yamcha we're dishing out incredible blows to one another. Yamcha tripped the creature by attacking his legs. He then knocked the Saibamen away. The creature recovered and suddenly felt Yamcha appearing behind him. He blocked the bandits' blow and tossed him into the air. But the long-haired fighter easily recovered and tried to strike his opponent with a leg strike from above. The creature easily dodged it and began to move away from Yamcha. The bandit followed his opponent. When the Saibamen saw that Yamcha was in mid-air, he smirked. He began his advance on the warrior. Hoping to catch him off-guard. But when his fist struck the bandit, instead of hitting his opponent. He flew through him.
"Nice technique," said Gray with a smile. "That was an afterimage, right?"
"Yes," said Erza with a thoughtful look. "I believe Rufus from Sabertooth also uses this technique."
Juvia nodded at that. "Yes. He called it Memory-Make: Afterimage if I remember correctly."
"It sure may sound the same," said Evergreen. "But Yamcha's Afterimage is used by utilizing Ki, not Magic. So, although they sound the same. The workings of both techniques are completely different."
Laxus gave a nod at her teammate's words. "Right you are."
The real Yamcha appeared above the Saibamen. And while his guard was down he struck the green monster with a Kamehameha Wave. The beam pushed the Saibamen toward the ground, where it detonated. After the smoke was gone. Everyone could see the defeated Saibamen in small crater.
"Yes," cheered Happy. "He did it. That was some move."
"Yeah, it sure was," said Lucy with a smile.
"He got him," said Krillin with a grin.
"No way," said Gohan amazed.
Nappa was frustrated. "Not again."
Yamcha chuckled. He then turned towards the Saiyans and the rest of the Saibamen.
"Heh, it looks like these little Saibamen of yours aren't nearly as powerful as you made them out to be."
The Fairy tail mages frowned. Yamcha was getting arrogant. That's not good at all. Arrogance can get you hurt or, worse, killed on the battlefield.
"Dammit. Do you see his posture? He has completely let down his guard," said Gajeel.
Laxus nodded. "Yeah, I was afraid of that happening."
"Why you," said Nappa with a glare.
"Easy, Nappa," said the Prince with a warning tone.
"I safe my friends the trouble and take care of last four by myself," said Yamcha with a grin.
The screen suddenly showed the so-called dead Saibamen. The claws were moving.
"OH, NO," yelled every mage worriedly.
Vegeta laughed. "Now that I liked to see. Too bad I won't get the chance."
"What," said Yamcha, confused.
It all happened so fast. The Saibamen jumped to life and rushed the off-guard Yamcha. Yamcha slowly turned around. And when he saw the still alive Saibamen rushing towards him, he tried to dodge. But he was way to slow. The green creature put his arms legs around the martial artist and held him in a bear hug.
"Get off me," said Yamcha as he was trying to break free from the clutches of his opponent.
But the Saibamen held him tighter. And the creature smirked. He began to glow white, and soon after he exploded.
Vegeta smirked. "That's more like it."
All the mages had their eyes and mouth open in horror at the scene.
"No, Mr. Yamcha," said Wendy, with tears coming from her eyes.
Krillin checked up on his friend. He began to listen for his heartbeat. "Guys," said the monk In sorrow. "We lost him."
Every mage bowed their head in sorrow.
"You must have had a feeling something like this would happen, huh," said Krillin with grief in his voice. "That's why you insisted on going before me."
"Krillin," thought Mira sadly.
"Dammit, why did you have to get yourself killed, you stupid jerk. What am I supposed to tell Puar and Bulma, huh," said Krillin in sad anger.
"Oh, poor Bulma and Puar," said Lucy sadly. "They will be devastated."
Natsu clenched his fists in frustration. "Dammit," thought Natsu angrily. "I hate this. Not being able to help."
"What in the hell was that Saibamen thinking? I don't want to see a draw. I wanna see a win. C'mon, let's get to the next round."
"Calm down, Nappa. Let's give them a moment to clear this trash from the battlefield," said Vegeta with a smirk.
All the mages, even Marakov himself, began glare at the short Saiyan. Their magic began to rise to extremely high levels.
"That damm bastard," said Mira angrily. "How dare he call Yamcha trash."
Marakov couldn't accept this anymore. "Malia, I think I'm starting to have doubts of Vegeta ever turning good. We fought demons who were more human than he."
Malia sighed. "Yes, I guess I understand your doubts, especially after seeing this. But you have to understand this. Vegeta has been under Frieza's rule since when he was 5 or six years old. Seeing and doing the things he did would make any normal person go crazy. Vegeta has to follow these orders or be destroyed by Frieza himself. It was a matter for survival for the Prince. He hoped the longer he fought under Frieza's rule, the stronger he became. And would someday destroy the lizard that enslaved him and his people."
All the mages' magic aura began to calm down. But they still had glares on their faces.
"That still doesn't give him the excuse to act so ruthless and without any sort of compassion. Calling a person thrash is the worst thing someone can do," said Marakov angrily.
"Mmm," said Malia in deep thought. "I know. Let me show you a scene of future Vegeta. Maybe then you all will believe me."
Everyone began to get curious. The screen suddenly showed an older Vegeta. He still wore some kind of armor, but a different design. He was on some kind of ship. With all of Goku's friends. But they all looked a lot older. They suddenly saw the Prince jumping up on a stage.
"ALRIGHT, EVERYONE, LISTEN UP! THE PERFORMANCE IS OVER. NOW ITS TIME TO START THE MAIN EVENT OF BULMA'S BIRTHDAY PARTY, THE BINGO TOURNAMENT!"
All the mages mouths and eyes were wide open at this funny display. They saw the Prince sing and dance and do silly moves on stage.
"BINGO, BINGO, BINGO. FUNTIME BINGO. THIS IS A FUN PLACE TO BE, YO. EVERYONE LETS BINGO. LET'S BE, FRIENDSO. FUNTIME BINGO. EVERYBODY BINGO!"
(yeah, sorry, I couldn't understand and how to write the real sentence.)
"This Can't be Vegeta," said Lucy in denial.
Everyone was in shock. Was this the same ruthless Vegeta from before?
Malia chuckled. "It's hard to believe but this is really Vegeta. Thought, he might have changed a lot. This dancing and singing was a one-time thing. Because he did it to save the Earth from a dangerous opponent."
"How could dancing and acting funny like this save the Earth," said Mira confused.
"You will all find out when the time comes. Now, let's continue with reacting, shall we?"
The screen changed back towards the battlefield were the evil Vegeta had just finished his sentence.
Krillin turned around and glared at Vegeta. The mages had never seen Krillin so angry before.
"How dare you. Everyone, stay back. Okay, buddy. This one's for you," said the monk as he looked at Yamcha's death body. "I won't let you down."
"I have never seen Krillin so angry before," said Juvia with a surprised look.
"Me neither," said Gray. "But I guess losing somebody close to you can make anybody mad. Not to mention Vegeta's comment from earlier."
They all nodded at that.
The monk unleashed a devastating huge attack that split into five beams that attacked the remaining Saibamen and Saiyans. One Saibamen managed to escape, though. And tried to attack Gohan. But Piccolo managed to defend the small boy again and destroyed the green creature with ease.
Everyone cheered at that.
However, the blast that hit the two Saiyans did no damage to them whatsoever. Without any Saibamen left to fight. Vegeta decided that playtime was over. And commanded Nappa to attack. Tien was the first target of Nappa. With amazing speed he appeared right in front of the bald warrior. And struck him with a powerful blow that cut his left arm right off. The mages couldn't believe the horrible scene happening right in front of them. And there was nothing they could do to help. The power of the Saiyan Nappa was to much for the Z-warriors to handle. And it didn't take long for a second Z-fighter to lose his life.
The small warrior Chiaotzu gave up his life by blowing himself up. Hoping to take the giant with him. However, it was a failed attempt. Nappa came out of the explosion without any damage.
"No, Chiaotzu," said Mira sadly with tears in her eyes.
In anger at the loss of his best friend. The three-eyed warrior began to attack Nappa with a series of blows. But they were easily dodged. Piccolo was strategizing a plan to attack Nappa together with Krillin and Gohan.
But Vegeta overheard them. "That sounds like it might work. For your sake, I hope it does."
Piccolo gave the short Saiyan a surprised look. He didn't know Vegeta had heard him.
"Keep your eyes on the Battlefield. You'll only have one shot at this," said the Prince with a smirk.
"I really hate this current Vegeta," said Lisanna with a frown. "He's a real jerk."
"You got that right," said Lucy with a glare.
"Heh, so you think," said Piccolo with a smirk. "But it won't be too much longer until Goku gets here. And he will wipe of that smirk from your face."
Everyone grinned at that.
"Yeah, you tell him, Piccolo," said Natsu with a grin.
"Ohhh," said Vegeta in a sarcastic tone. "I'm terrified but curious. This guy, your ace in the hole?"
Erza smirked at the Prince. "He will soon find out for himself," thought the scarlet beauty.
Erza's face suddenly turned worried. She just hoped that Goku would arrive soon.
Piccolo chuckled. "Wouldn't you like to know?"
Tien was knocked unconscious by a hard blow from Nappa. And he was down for the count. The big brute was getting bored of knocking him around. And decided to end it. But it was during his attack that Piccolo decided to launch their own assault on the big Saiyan. Piccolo was the first to appear suddenly behind Nappa. He struck the giant Saiyan with a blow to his cheek. The force of the attack made him fly away uncontrollably. Not soon after, Krillin appeared above Nappa. And struck him to the ground below, were Gohan was waiting.
"GOHAN, DO IT! HIT HIM NOW," yelled Piccolo.
The mages already knew what was going to happen by Gohan's scared face. And nobody blamed the little boy. Heck, he was only five. And this was his first time on a real battlefield. Gohan ran away for cover.
Piccolo was shocked at the little kid's cowardice.
"You're worthless," said Piccolo, annoyed.
The mages frowned at Piccolo's words.
Mira sighed. "Dammit, why would he say that?"
"I'm sure Piccolo doesn't mean what he says," said Marakov. "I'm just guessing that it was a heat-in-the-moment situation."
The others nodded at that.
"Let's hope so," said Lucy with a sigh.
The Namek and Bald human tried to hit Nappa with one of their own attacks. But the giant managed to dodge the two attacks at the last second.
"Damm, they missed," said Levi annoyed.
"They were so close," said Gajeel with a frown.
"This isn't looking good," said Laxus with clenched fists. "At the rate, this fight is going. It won't be long until another person dies."
And right he was. The third Z-fighter that perished was none other than Tien. Using the last of his energy, he let out one final attack to avenge his best friend. But, after the smoke cleared. Tien could see that Nappa was still alive. Having used the last of his strength. The bald warrior fell down on the ground dead.
"Dammit, everyone is dying. This isn't good," said Gray with gritted teeth.
"Goku, where are you," thought Erza worriedly. "Your friends need your help."
"Everyone is dying, and I don't know how to stop it," said Krillin, scared.
The bald monk turned towards the only person that he knew could save them. He let out a scream in pure anguish.
"HURRY, GOKU, WE NEED YOUR HELP! PLEASE, GOKU!"
The mages could only clenched their fists in frustration. There was nothing they could do to help them. The only thing they could do was watch.
Vegeta looked at Krillin curiously. He had heard the name Goku several times now during the course of this battle. Also just recently from the Namek. And it really started to annoy him.
"Goku? Tch, that name again." Suddenly the Prince eyes widened. "Hold on."
"Do you think he finally has figured out who Goku is," asked Lucy curiously.
Erza gave a nod. "Yes, I think so."
Nappa laughed. "Okay, that's three of you dead. You should consider fighting back soon," said the Saiyan with smirk.
Canna gritted her teeth in anger. She really hated this guy.
As the big brute began his attack on Piccolo and Krillin. He was suddenly stopped by Vegeta.
"NAPPA, WAIT! STOP RIGHT THERE!"
The bald warrior stopped in mid-air when he heard Vegeta's voice.
"This is certainly unexpected," said Gajeel, confused. "Why would that Vegeta guy stop the fight so suddenly?"
The others shrugged their shoulders.
"Hey, why did you stop me? Let me at them," said Nappa annoyed.
"How many times do have to tell you to be patient? I want to ask them something first."
Erza had a good idea of what the Prince was going to ask them.
Vegeta looked at the two warriors. "This Goku you keep babbling on about. He's Kakarot, isn't he?"
"Oh, so that's why he stopped the fight," said Lucy. "To find out about Goku."
Erza nodded.
Krillin glared at Vegeta. "Don't call him that. He's Goku now."
Wendy nodded at that. "Yeah, you tell him, Krillin."
Vegeta laughed hysterically. "To think that Kakarot is your only hope. He died fighting Raditz. And Raditz wasn't half the fighter Nappa is. What could he do against the two of us?"
"Goku's stronger than he was before. You'll see. You're both death meat when he gets here," said the monk angrily.
Natsu smirked. "Hell yeah, that's right. Those two won't stand a chance."
Gildarts frowned at that. "We don't know that for sure, Natsu. We don't even know how much Goku has raised his strength."
"True, but we know they survived this battle. So they must have won somehow. We just don't know for sure if it was Goku," said Marakov in deep thought.
"Guess we will find out soon," said Mira with a frown.
"That's right. You shouldn't underestimate him," said Piccolo.
Nappa laughed. "Oh, really? You know, I might believe if he wasn't too scared to show his face. Are you sure you're precious Goku didn't abandon you?"
Erza and Canna gritted their teeth in anger. "How dare that Neanderthal call Goku a coward," said Canna with a glare. "I can't wait when Goku shows up and beat his ugly ass."
Erza gave a small nod at the card mage. Oh, she couldn't wait for that too.
"That's my dad," said Gohan angrily. "He'll be here, and you'll be sorry. He's gonna be so big and strong you wish you never messed with us."
All the mages grinned at Gohan's words. "Yeah, you tell them kid," said Bickslow.
"Is that so? Well, that sounds interesting. I guess we can give our hero a little bit more time," said Vegeta intrigued.
All the mages were surprised at that.
"Wait," said Lucy surprised. "They're going to wait until Goku shows up? Why?"
"Vegeta must be curious about Goku's strength," said Gray. "And wants to see it for himself."
"Well, whatever the case. This is good," said Evergreen. "Let's just hope it's enough time for Goku to arrive."
They all nodded at that.
"What's the point in that," said Nappa annoyed. "Can I at least finish off the rest of these guys while we're waiting?"
Mira glared at the bald behemoth. "Don't you dare, you ugly bastard."
Vegeta showed Nappa three fingers. "Give them three hours. That's all he gets. After that, they're yours to destroy."
But Nappa wasn't happy with Vegeta's answer. "That's ridiculous. I'm not waiting for anybody."
The big Saiyan continued his assault on his prey.
"Oh no," thought everyone scared.
But Nappa was again stopped by Vegeta. There was a dangerous tone in his voice.
"NAPPA! ARE YOU DISOBEYING A DIRECT ORDER?"
The big Saiyan stopped again. But this time he had a scared look on his face.
"No, sorry, Vegeta. I just got carried away there for a second."
"Man, Nappa is really afraid of Vegeta," said Gajeel surprised.
Laxus nodded. "Yeah, I guess it's no surprise. Vegeta's power exceeds Nappa's by a lot."
Vegeta turned towards the warriors. "Kakarot won't be able to save you. But he did buy you three more hours of life."
"He'll do more than that, you jerk," said Lucy with a glare.
Natsu and Happy nodded at that.
Gohan, Piccolo, and we're standing together. Waiting for Goku to arrive.
The Namek gave Gohan a stern look.
Krillin noticed that. "Hey, c'mon. It's not his fault. He's never been in a real fight before."
Every mage nodded at the monk's words.
"Yeah, obviously," said Piccolo, annoyed. "Honestly, what a waste of time. I was a fool of expecting more out of you."
"Dammit. Is Piccolo really going to act like a jerk this whole time," said Levi with a frown.
Lisanna and Mira clenched their fists.
"I really hope not," said Mira sadly.
"This is a problem," thought Piccolo worriedly. "The way that big guy was cowering a second ago. Does that mean that little runt Vegeta is even more powerful than he is?"
All the mages frowned sadly.
"So, that's why he's so agitated," said Lucy. "I guess he must be afraid."
Natsu was gritting his teeth. "C'mon, Goku. Get your ass in gear, buddy."
"Natsu, Goku is doing everything in his power to get there on time. It isn't his fault," said Erza sadly.
The pink-haired dragonslayer nodded. "Yeah, I know that. It's just frustrating for me. There is a fight going on. And there's nothing I can do to help."
"I know how you feel, Dragneel," said Gajeel with gritted teeth. "It's torture for me too."
"How can you just sit there," said Nappa towards his superior. "Don't you want to kill these guys even a little?"
"Patience. We waited a whole year. Three more hours won't hurt. Then the real fight begins."
The screen changed towards Goku. Who was still rushing along Snake Way.
The fairy tail members could hear the familiar voice of the storyteller in the background.
"The clock is ticking. Will Goku make it back to Earth in time? Find out next time."
"Oh, I hope he will," said Wendy worriedly.
"Calm down, child. I'm sure it's going to be okay," said Charla with a smile.
"Well, anyway," said Freed, who began to stand up. "I guess we will find out soon. I'm famished. I could use a good lunch."
Bickslow nodded. "Yeah, me too. I craving for something sweet."
Erza nodded at that. "Yes, great idea, Bickslow. I think I will follow your example."
Malia chuckled. "Very well. Take all the time that you need. If you're ready to react again just let me know."
All the mages nodded and began to walk towards the food and resting area.
