Dave and Rosie were finishing packing it was Friday night and they were getting ready to head to England to visit Emily. The whole team was going. Hotch and the rest of the team had been working none stop for a month and Hotch had arranged for them all to get the time off to go. They were leaving on Friday night before Rosie's and Jack's March break started so they didn't have to miss school.

So right after school Rosie said bye to her friends and Dave picked her up and they went straight home to finish up their last-minute packing and for Rosie to change into a different outfit before they headed out to the airport. Everyone met at the airport at the gate once they were through security.

Henry ran over to her when he saw her coming and hugged her legs.

Rosie picked him up and hugged him. "Hey Henry. You excited?"

"Yay! Auntie Emily there!" He said

"Yes. She is. I'm excited to see her too!" She said carrying him over to the group sitting down and sitting him next to her. She said hello to everyone.

"How was your last day of school?" Spencer asked

"Went. Very slowly." Rosie said

"Same eight hours as a normal day." Spencer said with a smile

"Well, it -felt longer." Rosie said with a bit of snark.

Dave shook his head while everyone else smirked at the interaction.

Soon they were called to board the plane. Which they all did. They hadn't been able to all get seats together, but they were all on the same plane. They all took their seats and after eating they all feel asleep as the flight was during the evening and early morning. They landed it was two am for them but 7am in England. Once they landed and got their baggage most of them went to a hotel. Aaron and Jack where staying at Emily's but everyone else was in a hotel. They all went and passed out for a few hours. They were all up and dressed to go to lunch at 1pm.

They all met up at a place that Emily had suggested. They all said their hellos and sat down and ate.

"Flight was good for everyone?" Emily asked

"Henry didn't feel very good till I gave him some Gravol, and he passed out." JJ said

They kept talking about everything.

"How are things with Nolan?" Emily asked Rosie

"Good. Really good." Rosie said

"Penny you seeing anyone?" Emily asked with a smirk.

Penny sighed. "You know the answer to that."

"But the rest of us don't." Spencer said tilting his head

"Well. That's not entirely true." JJ said

Rosie noticed the look on Derek's face and tilted her head. "Derek do you know?"

Derek looked at Rosie. "Hrm?"

"The look on your face tells me that you know." Rosie said smirking. She had figured it out

Emily snickered. "Cant get anything passed her."

"Like father like daughter." JJ said chuckling.

"Wait. Is there something I should know?" Aaron asked looking between Derek and Penny putting on the boss hat.

"I don't know should the director have known about you and Emily?" Derek asked with a smirk

Rosie had a hand over her mouth trying to suppress some of her laughter. Dave cleared his throat at his daughter which caused her to blush and calm down some.

"Well since you have all figured it out. Yes Derek and I have begun a relationship." Penny said

"About time." Rosie said before putting her hand over her mouth. That was not a thought she intended to come out of her mouth.

Penny smiled at the girl "Really huh?"

"Sorry…" Rosie said

"Its okay." Penny said continuing to smile.

They all said how happy their were for the new couple.

Rosie looked up at Uncle Aaron and nodded towards her dad. Aaron raised and eyebrow and mouthed. 'Don't' to her. He knew Dave would tell them when he was ready, and his daughter needed to leave it alone.

Emily noticed the exchange between the too. "Don't what?" She asked the two

"Hrm?" Aaron asked her

"She gave you a knowing look and you mouthed 'don't' to her. Don't what?" Emily asked

Rosie giggled and looked down.

"Nothing." Aaron said

"I'd like to know too." Dave said

"No. Trust me. You don't." Aaron said

Dave looked at his daughter.

Rosie smirked and said nothing.

They ate lunch before deciding to head to do some tourist things.

While they were walking to their stop. Dave held his daughter back and told everyone they would catch up.

Everyone one went ahead. "What did Uncle Aaron tell you not to do?" Dave asked her

Rosie looked down. "Tell anyone about you…"

Dave let out a breath and lifted her chin, so she was looking at him. "I intend on telling them. Before the end of this trip. Please let me do it in my own way."

"Yes sir." She said softly.

Dave let her chin go.

The two of them caught up with the rest of the group and did some tourist things.

The next few days were spent doing all the touristy things there was to do in London.

One evening after they had dinner they were all handing out in Emily's apartment. Spencer had set up the chess board and was playing Alex. There weren't many people who could beat Spencer, but Alex was one of the ones who stood the most chance, but the game ended with Spencer winning.

Rosie took a breath telling herself to keep a straight face. "Can I try?" Rosie asked

"Sure." Spencer said. He had no doubt in his mind that he would win but gave the young girl a chance to get better.

Rosie took Alex's place and they set up the board. Dave set up a video camera that was in the room to have it record to record the game. If Rosie won he wanted the proof to send to Gideon and to record Spencer's face.

JJ noticed him doing it and went and sat next to him. "Why recording?" She asked quietly.

Dave smirked and whispered. "I took to her meet Gideon. He taught her how Spencer played to try and give her a shot at beating him."

JJ let out a quiet huffed laugh. Gideon had beat Spencer more than once. If anyone could teach the teen how to win against Spencer it was Gideon.

The game went on for awhile before Spencer realized she was getting very close to beating him.

"You've improved since the last time we played." Spencer said his face clearly trying to figure out how she could be winning right now.

"Have I?" Rosie asked trying hard to keep a straight face.

"Yeah. Have you been playing with your dad?" Spencer asked

"Not really." Rosie said

"With friends?" Spencer asked

"Sorta." Rosie said a tiny smirk escaping.

JJ started to laugh.

Rosie looked back at JJ confused. And than realized and started to laugh. "Did my dad tell you?"

JJ nodded still very amused.

"Tell you what?" Spencer asked

"Nothing important." JJ said

"Mhm." Spencer said not believing it but went back to playing trying to find a way to win this game. He was pretty sure he was about to lose when Rosie made a critical error. Moving one piece when she should have moved another.

He looked up at her face and could see that she thought she had this game in the bag. She had let her cockiness distract her and she had played a move that in three moves Spencer was going to win no matter what Rosie did to counter them, but they finished up the game and Spencer did win.

Rosie looked defeated.

"Don't feel to bad. You did really well. But you got cocky and played with out thinking and ended your chance of winning." Spencer said

Rosie looked at him.

"I can show you what you did wrong but yeah. Three moves back. You moved the wrong piece." He told her "And I saw the look on your face. You thought you won. Had you moved the right one you would have won in two. But instead, you made it, so I was going to win in three. You couldn't have countered." Spencer told her.

Rosie took a breath. "Please show me."

Spencer started set the board up to how it was when she made the wrong move.

"There is an expression." JJ said.

Rosie looked up at her.

"Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Do you get what that means?" JJ asked

Rosie sighed. "Don't expect what hasn't happened because you don't know if it will happen the way you think."

JJ nodded.

"It's a lesson we all have to learn. Usually the hard way." Derek told her

"Okay." Spencer said. "Tell me what moves you see."

Rosie looked. "Well, I played my knight." She said demonstrating but moved the piece back to where it was.

"Yes. Do you see what you should have done?" Spencer asked

Rosie looked at the board and after about a minute she sighed. "Yeah… I should have moved the bishop. Than I could have moved my queen… than my knight… Than I would have won."

"That's right." Spencer said "But regardless, you play really well. Who have you been playing with?" he asked

"Someone who will probably not be to happy that my cockiness caused me to lose." Rosie said

"He'll be impressed how close you came to winning." Dave said, "He taught Spencer too after all."

"Gideon?" Spencer asked surprised

"Yeah. We went to visit him a few weeks ago." Rosie said

"Well, he could have taught you some techniques, but you still played on your own. I think he will be impressed." Spencer said

"Now my turn." JJ said.

Rosie and JJ switched places.

Dave kissed her head. "You did do well."

Rosie smiled at him. "Thanks."

"And I don't think you will make that mistake again." Dave said

"I wont." Rosie said

The next couple days were filled with more site seeing and just spending time together.

It didn't go unnoticed that Dave seemed to be texting someone a lot on that trip and a few people had asked but he had always dodged the question.

On their last night there they were hanging at Emily's again.

Rosie and Spencer were playing chess again.

"Well. I suppose since several of you have asked the questions I guess I should answer them." Dave said.

Everyone looked up at him

"I have been seeing someone." Dave said

"Someone we know?" JJ asked

"No. Real estate agent who is selling the house next to us." Dave said

"Isn't that who showed up on camera to help you when you slipped on the ice?" Penny asked Rosie.

"Um. Yes." She said

"Wasn't that a…" Penny said looking at Dave.

"Wasn't that a what Pen?" Emily asked

"A man." Dave said

Everyone who had looked away from Dave all looked back at him quickly.

"Wait. What? How did we not know?" Spencer asked

"Because I didn't tell anyone." Dave said

"And he has been married. Three times. To woman." Aaron pointed out

"You knew." Emily said to Aaron.

"He shared it with me a few week ago yes." Aaron said. "Not my place to tell."

Alex looked at Rosie. "You knew too I take it?"

"I did yes." Rosie said with a smile. "I've met the guy but don't really know him."

"Oh?" Penny asked

"He," Rosie said indicating to her dad. "Is worried I'm going to get too attached and than if they break up I'll end up hurt." Rosie said

"That is what parents do." Aaron said. "They protect their kids."

"But I don't need to be protected from this." Rosie said

"Hate to break it to you kid but you don't get to choose that." Derek told her

Rosie nodded and resisted the urge to roll her eyes. She looked back at the board in front of her and made a move. "Check." She said

Spencer looked and smiled. He moved a piece, so he was out of harms way. And they kept playing.

Emily sat next to Dave. "Do you have a picture of this guy?"

Dave took out his phone and went through his pictures and found one of the two of them from Valentine's day and showed her

"Oh he's cute. Looks a little like that actor." Emily said

"That's very specific." JJ said

"Cute huh?" Aaron asked

Emily smirked.

JJ looked over at the phone as well. "Oh. Yeah. That actor. Cant think of his name…"

"Ryan Reynolds." Rosie said

"Yes!" Emily said.

"I thought you didn't know him." JJ said

"Well. I have met him. Technically I met him first but haven't spent significant time with him." Rosie said

JJ nodded

"I must not have gotten a very good look of him over the video chat." Penny said

Emily took the phone out of Dave's hand it was passed around.

Dave make a look of annoyance that his phone had been taken.

Alex smirked when she saw the face. "This is what women do. You opened up the conversation and took out the phone, so you opened yourself up to this."

Rosie giggled.

"Check." Spencer said getting her attention back to the game.

Rosie looked back at the board and scrunched up her face and looked at all the pieces in play. She had two options to protect her king. Move the king or move a rook. Which one would be the better choice?

Once everyone had seen the picture Dave got his phone back.

Rosie put her hand out going to change the rook and looked at Spencer to see a reaction.

"I grew up in Vegas I have an excellent poker face. Play your move don't try and read my face." Spencer said

Will chuckled. "You play with a profiler that wont work."

Rosie sighed and moved her rook.

Spencer played his next move.

Rosie looked at the board and tilted her head and made her next move. "Check." She said

Spencer nodded and moved a piece but saw what Rosie was seeing. She had two more moves and she would win. But she could also make the wrong move and than he would win in two moves.

Rosie moved her queen.

Spencer took a breath and nodded. Moving the only piece, he could capturing her rook. But that was it.

A smile spread across Rosie's face as she moved her queen again. "Check mate." She said

Penny gasped she hadn't been paying attention and chess wasn't really a game she knew how to play but she knew beating Spencer was not easy.

"You beat him?" Aaron asked

"Yes!" Rosie said excitedly

"She did." Spencer said.

Dave chuckled. "That's my girl."

"Oh Einstein you better be careful. She is going to come for your job next." Derek said

"Very funny." Spencer said. "Good job." He said to Rosie.

Rosie smiled. "Thank you. And no. I have no interest in being a profiler."

"Do you know what you want to do?" Alex asked

Rosie nodded. "I do."

"What?" JJ asked

"Crime journalism." Rosie said "I'm going out for the school paper next year."

"Ooh. So studying journalism in university?" Spencer asked

"Majoring in journalism yes. Minoring in law. I figure that will help to know the laws." Rosie said

Aaron's interest was peaked. "What school you thinking?"

"Any that will accept me." Rosie said

"You have a top pick. Top three." Dave said

"Harvard, Stanford and Yale." Rosie said

"Cal Tec is a good school too." Spencer said

"Its on the list of places I will apply." Rosie said

"If you need help one call and I'll get you in." Spencer said

"Thank you for that offer. But I need to get in on my own." Rosie said

Spencer nodded. "Okay. Offer stands if you change your mind."

"I'll keep that in mind but that's a few years away still." She said

"How about you go to a school a little closer." Dave said

"Dad." Rosie said

"I'm sorry." Dave said with a smile

Soon after everyone staying in the hotel headed back to the hotel to get some sleep. They were leaving the next day and needed to be up at a pretty early time.

Dave handed Rosie the video camera "I recorded both games you played with Spencer."

Rosie smiled. "Thank you."

Everyone got some sleep

The next morning packing was done before they checked out and all headed out for one final breakfast with Emily.

They all had breakfast and said their goodbyes and headed to the airport.

They all went through security and made it to their gate and sat down.

Rosie leaned her head on her dad.

Dave looked over at her. "You okay?" He asked

"Just tired." Rosie said

"You didn't eat much at breakfast. I didn't say anything because you did eat, and you have been eating a lot this week. But I have to ask." Dave said

"Promise just not that hungry this morning." Rosie said

Dave put a hand on her forehead. "You are a little warm."

"I'm okay." Rosie said

Dave nodded abit. "Okay."

Soon they all got on the plane and took their seats. Once they were in the air Rosie feel asleep almost right away.

Spencer was sitting in the same row as them and looked over.

"She's getting sick? She looks white." Spencer said

Dave looked down at her. "Yeah. I think she is. Hopefully a few good nights sleep at home she will be better for school on Monday."

Henry got bored at one point and started to act out. At one point getting up from his seat and running back to where Rosie was carrying a book and shook her. "Read me a story!" He said trying to wake her up.

Rosie woke up with a groan and Spencer picked the boy up. "I can read you a story. Let Rosie sleep. She's not feeling well."

Henry whined "But want Rosie to read me story."

"Sorry buddy she cant. So its either me or I take you back to your mom and dad." Spencer said.

Will had come over and heard the end of the conversation.

Henry sulked and crossed his arms.

"You heard Uncle Spencer. You have two choices. You can stay with him, and he can read to you or I'm taking you back to your seat." Will said

Henry said nothing just crossed his arms and sulked.

Will picked him up and he squirmed. "I wanna stay with Uncle Spencer!"

"Fine. Be good." Will said setting him back down.

Spencer took the book and read to his god son.

Rosie feel back asleep.

When Spencer was done reading the book he gave Henry his phone to play a game on it to keep him distracted. It worked for about half an hour. "Off plane?" He asked Spencer

Spencer smiled. "Not yet. We have to wait till we get back to DC. We have a few more hours." Spencer pushed the buttons on the screen in front of him till it got to the screen with the plane on a map.

"See this is where we were in London. And this is where we are going to DC. And this is where we currently are." He told him pointing to each spot.

"That's not far?" Henry asked

"We are more than half way there. You can watch the plane move on the screen." He said showing him.

It kept him distracted for a few minutes, but he got bored and started to squirm.

"Want to play on my phone more?" Spencer asked

"No. Hungry." Henry said

"Okay. I bet your parents have something for you." Spencer said. He got up and carried the boy back to his parents who did in fact have some snacks for him. He was back with his parents and Spencer went back to his seat.

Rosie woke up a little later.

"Hey you okay?" Dave asked

"I dunno…" Rosie said

"Want something to drink? Water? Gingerale?" He asked

"Water." She said

Dave got a flight attendant and got Rosie a bottle of water.

Rosie took it and sipped some.

"You hungry?" Dave asked

"No." She said before closing her eyes again and leaning her head on him again falling back asleep.
