Chapter Nine
After speaking with her associates at the office while needing to gather her wits with the death of her sister Julie Martins. Though she hasn't been able to stay in contact with her working too many hours on the caseload as a lawyer.
She had changed her clothes once again after trying on three different dresses to fit the situation. After fixing her hair in place. She was now finally ready as she will head outside into the chill by wearing her black jacket to keep her warm from the change in temperature.
Moving over to her black SUV satellite vehicle one of the new models on the market. She had paid a pretty penny for the SUV at a car dealer only a few blocks from her office. She pulled out her keys from her jacket while trying to balance her brown briefcase with the papers she will need for later.
Sometime later she had been using the GPS tracking on the dashboard in order to show her the location of the Coroner's office for where the body of her sister lay. She had started to cry needing to pull out a white tissue to wipe her eyes with the black mascara beginning to smear for the moment.
How she hated the way she was looking having to be vain. She had stopped to wipe the tears from her face. While finally driving off onto the main road, she will be able to locate the coroner's office some 20 minutes later after going through a red light. She was lucky that there weren't any police patrols in the area.
She found a proper parking space near the back entrance of the six-story building in Yonkers. It had warmed up slightly since leaving her house.
Turning off the engine of her vehicle. She will grab the items she will be needing with her before entering the building with the lot almost full. She was wondering whether most of the vehicles were for employees.
Opening the double doors. She is stopped by a security officer asking for an I.D. She is able to pull out her wallet to show her I.D. and photo telling the female security officer in her late twenties.
"I am looking for the Coroner's office. One of the police officers tells me that I can view my sister's body here?" she tells her with a deep exhale as her heart was beating quickly.
"Sixth floor with the elevator down the hall and it will be on your left. You're not able to miss it with signs on the walls to direct you. Sorry for your loss." she is elated with her own emotions of having lost a loved one a few months ago to be her mother dying from breast cancer after a ten-year-long battle.
"Thanks, I will be sure to find it just great ma'am," she noted with her comment.
Meanwhile, the body was laying on the table directly in front of the glass window with the blind down for now. The assistant Doctor Sanchez had been waiting for the sister to be arriving for the viewing and confrontation.
Moments later there was a knock on the door he takes a look first before heading out into the corridor to speak with Barbara about her sister. Opening the door with a deep breath. He will introduce himself to the woman asking questions in regard to what exactly had happened to her sister.
Doctor Sanchez was able to explain to her the situation leading up to her murder with someone on the loose killing for sports. There was a full alert with all of the police stations for Yonkers and Westchester county.
Doctor Sanchez said asking Barbara whether she was ready to view her sister's body.
Taking a deep breath. "I am ready as ever! I am just sorry it was my sister that had to be killed in the process." she alluded to having said to the assistant.
"I know and I am sorry that it had to happen to her and others during the past few days and year." Doctor Sanchez needed to say.
He will raise the blind for where Barbara had been waiting outside as he opened the door to raise it as he was able to see her face with a look of horror.
"OMG! I wasn't prepared for this." she cried out to no one in particular. "It's my sister Doctor Sanchez," she said moving over to the intercom. "When can I take my sister's body out of here?' she asked with pain coming from her demeanor.
"In a few days once the police are able to come up with further evidence on your sister's body and her murder," he responded. "Just be sure to have us updated on what you're planning on doing when it comes to funeral plans," he remarked.
"I will Doctor Sanchez." she will give him all of her updated telephone numbers for the most part.
She walked out of the building as the temperatures dropped further. She had taken her keys out along with her blue cell phone to call the office to let them know that she was on her way back to the offices.
Meanwhile, she had gotten into her SUV vehicle to pull away into the back exit and the side street leading to the highway and the office. She had a great deal of work today in spite of the delay with her sister's body.
As for the assistant of the Coroner's office. He had reported back to the doctor finishing up his report to be sent off to the Yonkers, police department, and other authorities in regard to the latest murder.
