Halloween Horrors
Chapter Ten
Sergeant William Anderson had advised Doctor Perlmutter on what to expect with the body. Though he had seen everything under the sun has to be a Coroner and a doctor at the Manhattan medical center.
"The only thing I can say Sergeant is the fact I won't have any answers until after I am done with the autopsy," he noted with a hint of sarcasm in his demeanor.
Anderson turned to face the coroner crusty as ever with his assistant bringing over the black body bag to try and place the body inside. Though Lt. Alverez will need to inform Carolyn of the fact that they have found her husband's body.
He pulled out his cell phone with her number now on the screen. Though it was now early morning and no doubt asleep. But she did say to call her at any time no matter what they have found.
Meanwhile, Carolyn wasn't asleep at all as she had called a number of people with the possible news that her husband just might be dead.
Sitting in the antique kitchen of her apartment complex not too far from the spot where Michael had been found. She had been drinking coffee and toast in order to keep up her strength. She had left the white phone on the white counter.
Then all of a sudden she mostly jumped with her cell phone to be ringing. Looking at the name on the screen. She had felt her heart rate skyrocket seeing Lt. Alverez's name. She answers the phone by saying the following..."Tell me Lt. that my husband is still alive?" she cried out with her response.
Exhaling over the phone looking over at his partner Sergeant Anderson. "We have found him, Carolyn. But I am afraid he's dead a few blocks away from the apartment complex. He was found sliced to pieces and right now the Coroner will be taking his body back to the office. Are you able to give us permission to start an autopsy and find out the answers to his death?"
Thinking about it for the moment with the question and tears flowing..."Yes, you have my permission Lt. Alverez. When will I be able to come and drive on over to the Coroner's office to affirm my husband's body?" she needed to know the answer to the question.
"As of right now, you're able to come to the Coroner's bay in two hours needing to process his body getting it ready for the viewing. Afterward, the Coroner will be able, to begin with, the autopsy Carolyn," he tells her with an exhale having been exhausted from the long night.
"Okay, I will be there in two hours Lt. Alverez. Please ever the Coroner's does to not screw up too much with his face?" she cried out with the request.
"I am afraid the killer had already messed him up with his face by slicing it as with his throat and chest for the most part. I am truly sorry to say, Carolyn." Lt. Alverez needed to say with heartfelt sentiment.
