Scott knew that there was no way that he was gonna get any sleep. His mind swirled with the thoughts of what had happened a couple nights before at the hospital and it made his stomach twist painfully. He knew that Derek had to be right, that Stiles had his mind controlled by the nogitsune, but he didn't want it to be true. He hadn't been able to sleep in days.

'It's better then the alternative, him actually having dementia.' He tried to assure himself as he finally decided to pull himself out of bed, knowing that he'd have to leave for school soon despite what was going on because things had to seem normal even though Stiles was not himself as well as missing and Isaac could die from his injuries alone due to a lack of blood relatives. 'I never should have told Stiles about the bite. Maybe he'd be safe then.'

When he came downstairs however, he hadn't expected to see his mom sitting at the dining table, her phone face down and staring out the window as her coffee got cold; then again, he shouldn't have been surprised. If there was anyone who would stay awake for two days waiting on news on someone who she had known forever while still insisting that he try to catch up on sleep, it would be his mom.

He knew by her face that they hadn't found Stiles yet, but he couldn't help but ask, "any news?"

The deep sigh she let out before speaking was his confirmation, "They're still looking for him. It's past the forty eight hour mark, but I guess if anyone's gonna be missing for two days and turn up just fine, it's Stiles."

He could hear her voice crack as she spoke, and despite being new to the chemo signals and being able to fully detect them, he could smell the grief and fear coming off of her in waves. She had seen the statistics time and time again, so had he. The likeliness of Stiles being okay were slim and he couldn't bring himself to tell her about the nogitsune. Not when she was like this, even if it meant there was a better chance of him being alive.

"Well, what about Isaac?" He asked, immediately regretting it as she sighed again before standing up. Something she had only done before having to deliver bad news.

"Maybe we should go by the hospital before school."
