The Missing Sun
Chapter Eight
Charging toward the cloak being Percy's stab and slashed away as Helen came up behind him, shooting off arrow after arrow at an alarming speed.
Yet no matter how many of the cloak beings they knocked down, two more rose in its place.
Soon the two of them took off running through the woods, jumping over logs, slashing away vines and bushes. They needed to think of a plan fast.
Percy Pulled Helen Aside as the creature ran by them.
"Okay, we can't fight them the normal way." Percy said.
"Helen nodded grace out from behind a tree. She noticed one of the cloaked being had a yellow-orange handkerchief wrapped around its wrists. "That's mine,"
Stepping out, Helen punch the cloaked being in the face, knock off the hood reveal a demonic creature shop teeth and glowing red eyes.
Glancing around, Percy noticed the others turn around but disappear before they could. He joined Helen in punching and kicking the creature but it match their speed, blocking most of the attacks but where their aura lit up, the mixture of the sun and water punch it in the face sent and flying in the air.
When it landed on its back, a sword pierce its heart, screaming the creature disappeared. Percy and Helen balled up their fist ready to fight upon seeing Jessica, but she shook her head, holding up her hands.
"I'm not here to hurt."
Before either of them could respond, something push Helen out of the way. Cooking up Helen's eyes widen for it was Janet standing there with a sword through her stomach. Percy tried to attack only for the person behind her to snap her fingers, knocking him back.
"Cassie," Jessica said bitterly.
"Cassandra," Janet corrected.
Pulling out the sword, Janet dropped to her knees.
Revealing woman with brown hair and Emerald green eyes.
"Bingo. My Seekers failed to do their jobs, so I came to do it myself."
Cassandra stared at Helen, who balled up her fists with tears down her cheeks.
"Oh look, your progeny is angry," Cassandra said, before looking over at Jessica. "While you have turned mine.
Janet smile as she coughed up blood. "Karma is something, isn't it?"
Gripping her the hit of her sword, Cassandra smacks it across her face, knocking Janet to the ground.
"Beware the dark sun is coming."
Janet's eyes widen." Helen moved toward her, only for Cassandra to pick her up by her neck.
"No!" Janet shouted, reaching out toward Janet
Jessica and Percy ran toward Cassandra, only for her eyes to flicker. Swiping her sword, that send a wave knocking both Percy and Jessica back.
"You took mine, so I shall take yours."
Cassandra smiled as she and Helen disappeared.
Jessica ran to Janet's her over Jane looked up at Jessica and Percy with a painful smile across her lips.
"I can't believe you're smiling," Jessica said.
"Only way to deal with the pain," Janet purged her lips.
"everything is going to be okay," Jessica said as she took off her cloak, warping around the wound.
"I'm so sorry about not protecting Helen," Percy said.
"Nonsense theses still time," Janet said, coughing.
Jessica and Percy turned around. Artemis appeared.
"She's right," Snapping her fingers, two hunters walked out of the trees. "I'm sorry I'm late."
"I should have called you," Percy said.
"It's alright."
Jessica backed away as the hunters carefully lifted Janet off the ground.
"I'll be fine. You can't let Cassandra awaken the dark sun. It'll be the end of Apollo and the world along with it." Janet said before being taken away.
Sighing, Percy took a deep breath as Artemis laid a hand on his shoulder.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, let finish this."
"I can take you to where Apollo is," Jessica said.
Artemis nodded. "I think I know where Cassandra and my brother are."
Snapping her fingers, Artemis Percy and Jessica disappeared.
Meanwhile, inside the temple, Cassandra appeared, dropping Helen on the floor. Jumping up, Helen went to attack Cassandra, only to be held back by two guards. She shrugged against them, to no avail.
"My my such a fiery temper just like your father." Cassandra motioning to the table.
Looking down at the table these laid Apollo chained down on one side while a black marble coffin with symbol of sun on it was on the other.
Helen's eyes wander over the yellow, orange-black marble that seemed to glisten all around them. Moments later dozen of cloak figures walked in circling around the table.
"Because of your mingling, I had ramp up my plans. Cassandra said as she picked a chalice one of cloaked people walked over pouring a clear liquid into the cup.
Waving her hand over the chalice, the once clear liquid turn yellow as Cassandra mumbled incantation. The thunder peel through the sky as lighting strike and rain pour drip from the stop of the temple down. Into the goblet, turning yellow liquid black.
A smile spread across Cassandra's lips as the yellow, orange, black marble glowed, forming a shield around her temple.
A black aura formed around the black marble coffin as it trickled across the table over toward Apollo. Helen struggled to pull away from the guards even more.
"No!" stop this!" Helen shouted.
Cassandra looked at Helen with glowing black eyes.
"Beware the Dark Sun cometh,"
