What if Lelouch died in the invasion
a.t.b 2010
A green haired girl was standing in a field of flowers near the Kururugi shrine, waiting for two children to come out to play like they were supposed to. It sounded really suspicious, but not as much as it actually was given that one of those two boys was very important to her.
They were late, were those boys caught by a servant? Oh well, another day then. Marianne will owe her one for this.
Suddenly she heard fighter planes overhead and before she realized what had happened, they had dropped bombs over the Kururugi shrine. Her breathing stopped for a moment before she immediately started running towards it.
The beautiful shrine had become a smoking ruin with significant sections of it collapsed. She heard the screaming cries of a kid and went there to find the Japanese boy bawling over the corpse of another.
She felt like she was in a dream. It had been a long time since anything had actually fazed her. She remembered when she used to watch him from a distance as Nunnaly and Euphemia would fight over who would marry him, with Milly egging them both on and Anya shyly staying in background and taking pictures. The excessively handsome boy who princesses used to fight over had been completely shredded with debris. Even one of his two beautiful eyes was an empty socket leaking blood.
The image was transmitted to Marianne who was slightly shaken, but got control of herself far too quickly to be humanly possible!
"It doesn't matter C.C. When Ragnarok Connection is finished, we will all be reunited. In the world of C, Lelouch will be as handsome as ever. In fact its better that he will stay a cute 10 years old. We don't know how puberty would have affected him."
And they called her a witch! She was nothing compared to Marianne.
She approached the Kururugi boy and asked him about the situation. The boy should have been warier but was too grief stricken for that.
When Suzaku had first met the weak and lanky Britannian pretty boy, he had hated him for almost no reason. His first act had been to attack him without realizing that the girl with him was blind and crippled.
Over time they had become friends and he had realized that strength had different forms. He was amazed by the exiled prince's intelligence and realized that the two of them completed each other and that there was nothing they couldn't do together.
Today their plan was to sneak out to the nearby hill but were caught by a servant. He had gone to call his father and ask for permission when the sudden disaster dropped from the sky. By a combination of instincts and luck, he had only been grazed by a few shrapnel. He had only managed to reach Lelouch at his final moments.
"His final wish was for me to take Nunnaly to Ashford family. How will I tell her about this?"
He didn't know where this strange green haired girl had come from but he needed all the help he could get. Getting through the battlefield would be hard without someone with a plan, which would have been his friend.
The girl stared at him for a long time before putting her hand on his head and asking.
"Do you want power? The strength to live on an protect Nunnaly?"
"Yes."
He said without hesitation. The voice felt like it came straight from his mind rather than his ears, but he ignored that as hallucinations of his mental state.
"Then I propose a contract. In exchange for this power, you must make my one wish come true. The power of the king will condemn you to a life of solitude. Are you prepared for this?"
"... I accept."
He hesitated this time but still he had no choice. When he opened his eyes, the girl had disappeared like a figment of his imagination.
Suzaku's greatest wish was to stop people from killing each other, hence manifesting his geass of 'king of no killing'.
He carried Nunnaly on his back and took the trek across bloody battlefields. While he was inhumanly athletic, he was a child and definitely could do no acrobatics with the weight on his back. He also became a target for not only Britannian soldiers for his race but also Japanese soldiers for Nunnaly.
As a result, he had no choice but to use his geass repeatedly. It was an area of effect power that caused all in the vicinity to lose their killing intent. The natural conclusion was that the weaker side lost the will to fight and surrendered which the stronger side accepted without any bloodshed.
Of course only killing was stopped, not abuse or cultural destruction which only happened after he had passed by the area feeling good about all the people he had saved.
It wasn't all bad though. As feelings and pumping blood cooled down, many Britannian soldiers started to regain their humanity. Some resigned while others became more tolerant of the conquered, reducing the hatred on both sides by a few levels for the future. Whether it was worth it is up for debate.
The knight of one Bismark was bewildered. While Japan was weak compared to the world's greatest superpower, even the Britannian empire with its new knightmare frames should have needed around a month to conquer it.
Yet the force sent along the Kururugi estate had bypassed all forces and taken Tokyo in less than a week. Not only that, there were little to no deaths on either side along that path. He wondered if V.V had mobilized the geass order but even that wouldn't have been enough. Those children were assassins, not fighters. They did not have the mental stamina to use their geass repeatedly.
"It seems even god is on his majesty's side, even when he is going to kill that same god."
A.N - This chapter is from review request of Lord Metallex. As for the rest
Raxius - Cornelia or Euphemia finding Lelouch or Nunnaly has been done many times here, some of them are pretty good. I'll consider the Suzaku Euphemia propaganda marriage. Crossovers do not fit with the theme of this story as the alterations should be minimum for one-shots.
Mitaikun - This looks doable, I'll consider it.
