Calamity: 100 Years Later: Chapter 7: Battle in the Divine Beast Vah Ruta

Link had just made it up the waterfalls to Ploymus Mountain where the shock arrows were. Link noticed a creature walking around the mountaintop that had the body of a human and legs of a horse. It was a Lynel.

Link made sure to sneak past the Lynel and grab each of the shock arrows. Link eventually got all of the shock arrows and made it past the Lynel. Link then glided off the mountaintop and back to where Sidon was.

"So Link, did you get the shock arrows?", asked Sidon.

"You bet I did, Sidon!", said Link.

"Wonderful! Hop on my back and I'll swim around the Divine Beast with you so you can fire shock arrows at the Divine Beast!", said Sidon.

Link hopped onto Sidon's back and Sidon dived into the water with Link, swimming around the Divine Beast.

Ice blocks appeared out of Divine Beast Ruta and began floating towards Link. Link deflected them using arrows. Sidon then swam up one of the waterfalls making Link soar high into the air, where he fired a shock arrow at the Divine Beast.

Link and Sidon repeated the process of swimming up the waterfalls, dodging the ice blocks and firing shock arrows at the Divine Beast. After several hits from shock arrows, the Divine Beast stopped pouring water and the rain stopped.

"Link, look! The water spouting from Ruta has slowed down! Ruta is floating higher now. You wanted to venture inside it, right?", asked Sidon.

"Yes. I want to free Ruta from Ganon's magic.", said Link.

Sidon swam with Link over to the entrance to the Divine Beast. "Well Link, here we are. This is where the real work starts. Best of luck. Nice job cutting the water flow from this Divine Beast.", said Sidon.

Link entered the Divine Beast and heard the voice of Mipha speaking to him.

"You're here. I must say... that I am so happy to see that this day has finally arrived. Now Ruta can be freed of Ganon's control. You'll need a map to prevent you from getting lost.", said Mipha.

"The Guidance Stone there contains the information you will need.", said Mipha.

Link walked over to a giant door blocking the entrance to the Guidance Stone. While doing so, he found a Guardian like the ones he had seen in the shrines he found along the way. He defeated the Guardian and used Cryonis to lift the door.

Link walked up to the Guidance Stone and put the slate into the Guidance Stone. The machine dropped a liquid adding the map of the Divine Beast to the Sheikah Slate.

Now Link had a map telling him where to go. "Good! You've obtained the map of the Divine Beast. You will see several glowing points on your map which represent the terminals that control Ruta. Take Ruta back by activating all of the terminals. Be careful.", said Mipha.

Link looked around on the map of the Divine Beast and found the first terminal submerged underwater. Link used the Magnesis rune to crank a gear which pulled the terminal out of the water. Link put the Sheikah Slate up to the machine, causing the terminal to go from orange to blue.

"There are four terminals remaining. Don't give up!", said Mipha.

Link walked to another room finding another Guardian which he defeated. Link noticed a spinning gear with one of the terminals on the inside of it. Link noticed that there was a spout pouring water, so he used Cryonis to freeze the water and stop the gear from spinning.

Link then activated the terminal and authenticating the Sheikah Slate.

"There are three terminals remaining. You can do it!", said Mipha.

Link walked to the next part of the Divine Beast and noticed that the terminal had to be accessed while the Divine Beast's trunk was in a certain position. Link positioned the trunk of the Divine Beast with the Sheikah Slate and activated the terminal.

"There are two terminals remaining. You're nearly there...", said Mipha.

Link then swam up a waterfall and walked to the trunk of the Divine Beast, positioning it all the way upward.

Link glided down and activated the next terminal.

"Just one more terminal remaining. I have faith in you!", said Mipha.

Link walked back through the way he came from where the trunk was and found an area with a terminal, blocked by fire. Link defeated the Malice surrounding the opening to the water hole and used Magnesis to open the water hole.

Water came pouring down and got rid of the fire, allowing Link to activate the terminal.

After Link activated the terminal, a door leading to another Guidance Stone-esque machine surrounded by Malice. Link walked into the room and put the Sheikah Slate up to the machine, causing a rumbling to emit from the Divine Beast.

A mysterious figure with a blade in hand began to form in front of Link. The figure was none other than Waterblight Ganon.

"Please take care. That thing... is one of Ganon's creations. I put up as much of a fight as I could, but it proved to be my demise 100 years ago.", said Mipha.

"Regardless, I believe you are well prepared for this moment.", said Mipha.

Link started to battle Waterblight Ganon. Waterblight tried striking at Link with his blade, knocking Link down for a moment. Waterblight Ganon then slammed its weapon into the ground causing Link to fall to the floor. Link got back up on his feet and striked at Waterblight Ganon, doing lots of damage to it.

Waterblight wasn't finished just yet. He began his second phase in which he spawned ice blocks and threw them at Link, while attempting to slice Link with his blade.

Link dodged his attacks and the ice blocks while firing fire arrows at Waterblight Ganon. He then used his opportunity to strike Waterblight Ganon with a sword. And after a few more strikes and hits, Waterblight Ganon was defeated.

A glowing object floated down to Link. It was another heart to add to his health.

Link then walked up to the pedestal and put the Sheikah Slate up to it. Mipha then spoke to Link. "Hello Link. Because of your courage, my spirit is now free. And Ruta, as well. Thank you... For I am now allowed by this freedom... to be with you once again. Since I am now a spirit, my healing power would be wasted on me.", said Mipha.

"So therefore... I would like you to have it. Please accept... Mipha's Grace.", said Mipha. Mipha then gave Mipha's Grace to Link.

"Yesterday, I was awash in a pool of tears. I had nearly given up hope and resigned myself to being trapped here as a spirit, for the rest of eternity. But now, you're here... All this time, my hope... was to see you once more. Promise me that you will not hesitate to call upon my power if you ever find yourself in need. Knowing that... will let my spirit rest in peace. Ruta and I have our roles to fulfill. We are both honored to be able to play the role of support. Save her Link... save the Princess. Save Princess Zelda...", said Mipha.

Link was then teleported outside the Divine Beast while the Divine Beast swam out of the water and walked up to the mountaintop. The Divine Beast ended up pointing a laser and firing it into Hyrule castle.

"Ruta, we've found a way to be useful to Link. And... the other Champions, of course. Our job will be to help Link as he fights Ganon inside the castle, however he can. Using your ability to drain Ganon of his power is key to our success. This is it. This will be our last chance... and everyone's last hope. If we seal him away, then we can restore peace to Hyrule. And both your duty and mine will be fulfilled. Father... are you well I know.. I want you to know... I have always followed my heart. I'm sorry I made you worry... I wish I could see you again... Even just once more...", said Mipha to Ruta and her father.

Link was taken back to Zora's Domain. He walked up to a Zora which asked him for a photo of the Lynel on Ploymus Mountain.

Link swam up the waterfalls to Ploymus Mountain and took a picture of the Lynel up on Ploymus Mountain.

Link then glided back down and showed the picture to the Zora. After doing this, he walked to the throne room of King Dorephan.

"Well done Link! You have done well in overcoming and surviving your trial. I have been expecting your return. The violent downpour from Ruta has disappeared and is no longer a threat to our domain. It is nothing more than a bad dream now. Because of your efforts, there is no longer to a great flood laying waste in Hyrule. You have appeased and freed the Divine Beast Vah Ruta. We are all truly grateful. What you have done is more than what we expected from you.", said King Dorephan.

"Link, I must sincerely apologize for my harsh treatment of you. That whole time, you were just looking out for the well-being of Hyrule and Lady Mipha just like the rest of us. All of the members of the elder council fold back our fins in gratitude. Perhaps the older generation of Zora including me, have misunderstood Hylians after all. It would seem so. That said, I would be overjoyed if you could find it in your heart to forgive me. If not now, then perhaps one day.", said Muzu.

"Now please take this treasure handed down to us by Lady Mipha. Take good care of it.", said Muzu.

"By the way Link, I noticed that you don't have your trusty blade, the sword that seals the darkness. Did you perhaps lose it when you lost your memory?", asked King Dorephan.

"Sword? What sword?", asked Link.

"What?! Is it truly lost?! That is a legendary blade that only you, the Hylian Champion, can wield. It is no doubt resting somewhere waiting for its master to return. Link, all of us Zora thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your selfless work.", said King Dorephan.

"It was my pleasure, your majesty.", said Link.

"You as well proved effective in battle, my son. Now that Divine Beast Ruta is appeased, the rainfall has stopped.", said King Dorephan.

Link opened the chest and got the Lightscale Trident, a weapon owned by Mipha.

"Well, it was nice helping you all out, but I better continue on my journey.", said Link.

"We of the Zora tribe wish you the best of luck on your quest Link!", said King Dorephan.

"Thank you, your majesty.", said Link.

"You're welcome.", said King Dorephan.

Link then remembered the shrine near Kakariko Village, and used the Sheikah Slate to teleport to it.
