Calamity: 100 Years Later: Chapter 11: Meeting Teba
It was a busy day in Rito Village. People from all over Hyrule were shopping for goods and all sorts of other things. Link had just remembered a memory about Revali and was told where Teba was.
Link made sure to prepare for the cold weather by buying Rito clothing from a nearby clothing shop. After buying the clothes, Link put them on and ran down and glided off Revali's Landing.
Link landed on the ground and started walking up to Dronoc's Pass in the Hebra Mountains. It was very cold up there and there was hardly any animals up there. On his way, Link found some shrines and used the fire arrows he bought on his way to melt the ice surrounding one of them, as well as using Stasis on a snowball for the entrance to the other shrine. Link then walked into the shrines and completed the trials, earning more Spirit Orbs.
Link also found a tower on the way up and climbed to put the Sheikah Slate in the pedestal. After Link got the next part of the map, he glided off the tower.
Link then found Dronoc's Pass and went to where the Flight Range was. Link noticed a Rito citizen at sitting on the ledge of the Flight Range. It was Teba.
"Yeah...? I don't know you. And I'm actually pretty busy here. You should probably go.", said Teba.
Link then walked up to Teba. "What do you want? I'm kind of busy here.", said Teba.
"I can help you.", said Link.
"Help me? With what?", asked Teba.
"With the Divine Beast Vah Medoh.", said Link.
"A random Hylian wants to help me bring down Divine Beast Vah Medoh? I'm not buying it.", said Teba. "What's your name, stranger?", asked Teba.
"Link.", said Link.
"Link, huh? Well, Link. I'm Teba. But you already knew that. I'm guessing the elder asked you to come here and talk some sense into me, is that right?", asked Teba.
"That's right.", said Link.
"Look, you seem like an all right guy, but let's get one thing clear here. I'm not going anywhere. As a Rito warrior, I can't rest until my people are safe. There's only one way I'm going back to Rito Village.", said Teba.
"And that way is?", asked Link.
"Once the Divine Beast falls from the sky. If I have to kill Medoh, then so be it. Only then will I return to the village.", said Teba.
"Then let's get started.", said Link.
"Are you serious? HA! Well, far be it from you to talk me off the ledge. But it's as the elder said: the only way to stop Divine Beast Vah Medoh is to get inside it.", said Teba.
"Fat chance of that happening. There's no way we can set foot in Medoh.", said Teba.
"Actually, I think we can.", said Link.
"Ah, so I see not only are you wingless, but brainless as well. Let me fill you in. The only people able to set foot in the Divine Beasts are the Champions of old. If it hadn't been for Ganon...", said Teba.
"Never mind. Let's focus on bringing down Medoh... one step at a time. If we approach Medoh recklessly, its cannons will blast us out of the sky before we have a chance to get close. The updrafts are so strong here that a person could open up a cloth over their head and float upward easily.", said Teba.
"You'll have to destroy five of the targets set up in this valley in three minutes.", said Teba.
"I'm ready.", said Link.
Link then glided into the Flight Range and destroyed five targets. After that, he flew back up to the ledge and met Teba.
"You're... a skilled archer. It was as if time stopped with every arrow you let fly. I think I've heard the name Link somewhere before.", said Teba.
"I'll get you into positions so you can give its cannons all you got. Only problem is I don't have any bomb arrows. You'll have to venture to another area of Hyrule to buy some.", said Teba.
"Can do!", said Link.
"Now go get the bomb arrows, and take your time. Don't rush!", said Teba.
"Got it.", said Link.
Link used the Sheikah Slate to teleport to Hateno Village where the shrine in the village was. Link then walked into a shop and bought bomb arrows. Link then teleported to a shrine near Hyrule Castle and found a spot similar to the one in the picture on the Sheikah Slate.
Link took a good look at the spot and suddenly another memory came back.
In this memory, Zelda and him were in a field.
"Oh! There's another! And another!", she exclaimed while snapping photos of each. "The flowers we have in Hyrule aren't just beautiful… They're also quite useful as ingredients for a variety of things", said Zelda.
Zelda gasped after looking at one of her photos. One flower had caught her eye.
"This one here is called the Silent Princess. It's a rare, endangered species. Despite our efforts, we can't get them to grow domestically yet. The princess can only thrive out here in the wild. Link thought about it, and thought that the flower reminded him of her. Zelda seemed more happy when away from her royal duties, but silent and distant when doing royal duties.
"All that we can hope is that the species will be strong enough to prosper, on its own..." She sat still for a minute, until something caught her attention.
"Is that what I think it is? Look at this!" Link tried to see what it was she got excited about. "This delicacy is known to have very, very potent effects under the proper circumstances"
She opened her hands to reveal a frog she caught. "Research from the castle shows ingesting one of these can actually augment certain abilities". She then looked at Link mischievously.
"We wouldn't be in a controlled environment out here, and with your level of physical fitness... you'd be a perfect candidate for the study!"
"Go on! Taste it!" She shoved the frog to toward his face and he backed away in disgust.
Link now remembered why that place looked familiar. It was the day Zelda tried to get him to eat a frog. Now he had another memory come back to him.
Link then teleported to the shrine in the Hebra Mountains and ran to the Flight Range now having the bomb arrows.
"Good, you're back! I trust that you got those bomb arrows, right?", asked Teba.
"I got them.", said Link.
"Good, now hop onto my back as I fly us up to the Divine Beast.", said Teba.
Link hopped onto Teba's back and Teba flew high into the air near Divine Beast Vah Medoh.
