Victoria

I could smell the blood in the air, hear the screams, I just kind of tilted my head unable to move or think.

"Vicky we need you here."

The last thing I said to him was some bitching about him not noticing a new skirt, why the fuck was I so concerned with something so completely stupid.

"Come on Dean, argue with me tell me I'm acting like a child."

"Vicky."

Mom's voice was worried, I screamed as mom's armored hands forcifully dragged me away, screamed as I watched millions of glass shards rip his body apart, Amy... Amy couldn't fix this, even Ironwood couldn't fix this. I felt hate, honest hate for them.

"Well, there goes-"

I heard a smacking sound, Skitter's shoulders slumped.

"I'm... sorry about what happened."

I heard laughter and I was on my knees the sense of shock was still there. I... I thought it was going to work out. Dean and I had always been together, we would fight, make up and bicker and I thought it would go on forever. Him and I, and now he was gone, he had survived the Wards, survived Zeus and now...

"It's not fair."

Mom, peered around the side, and bug girl gave me a hug, I didn't fight it I just cried.

"Skitter, is Shatterbird around here?"

"No, she's doing something to extend her range, none of my bugs can find her."

I was still crying.

"Dean."

Mom grimaced.

"Calvert's dead, Gallant's dead, half the Empire's dead."

The bug girl held me.

"I know what you're going through."

"You don't."

"I do... they have my boyfriend and they're probably doing unspeakable things to him right now... I know."

She stopped.

"Tats, shut up."

The blond girl stepped back.

"I wasn't... yeah your right, I'm going back, ok?"

The hug stopped, and Skitter sighed.

"Come on, Gallant... he was one of the good guys, right?"

I was glad my armor was hiding my face.

"The best."

"Then we need to get them back ok? Look I know you don't like me, but right now we both hate the same people ok? Glory Girl?"

"Yeah."

I was starting to get ahold of myself.

"Let's kick some ass, ok?"

I got up.

"They're going down."

I was angry now, really and truly angry, and I was going to use that. Dean deserved that.

"Let's get some payback."
