Dancingrage
Bloodloss was starting to be a problem, and whatever tinkertech the Elite had cooked up was proving to be more and more of a problem.
"Marco, are the nanites taking care of it?"
"We're doing our best boss but whatever they hit you with... we can't fix it boss."
Maybe Maria, she was the other AI sometimes she had ideas Marco didn't.
"Maria?"
"Boss, we can't fix this, we're trying but we can't fix it and it's getting worse. You need someone else to fix it."
I was using every trick I knew but it wasn't enough, I needed help or I was going to die. I closed my eyes and tried to manipulate the tapestry, were there others like me? There had to be an unlimited number of dimensions, after all mathematically this had to be the truth. I focused my power and ripped a hole between universes. I focused on trying to find the best healer possible, someone who could fix me.
I landed in a place that was cold, rainy and unpleasant, Some giant machine sat nearby, it wore a white coat with purple trimmings. My hud showed a small army of PRT agents nearby, he was sipping a cup of coffee.
"This one thanks you for a delightful cup of coffee."
"Thanks Woody."
I didn't want to bleed out and... Endbringer, someone actually took that option? The PRT agents didn't seem hostile, they looked bored, at least the ones I could see. I activated some of my timefreeze tech as I tried to keep myself going. I walked up closer to... him,her kind of hard to tell.
"I need help."
I collapsed on a nearby chair, I keep breathing in and out in pain.
"Oh.. .this one would be happy to help."
I thought about it a signal.
"CYOA's suck."
He stopped.
"So you too then?"
"Yeah I'm trying to help my parallell too, got hit with something and-"
He shrugged.
"You don't need to say more, I'm on it."
I felt a wave of euphoria as his power washed over me.
"That... was nasty stuff, who did it?"
"The Elite."
He nodded and I got up, he poured some coffee into a smaller water cup and offered it to me. It was actually pretty good, I took a sip.
"Thanks, so how long have you been here now?"
The giant nodded his head.
"Its going to be 11 years pretty soon, you?"
"It's my third month."
He nodded.
"It does take awhile to get used to everything."
"So... Endbringer, why make that choice?"
He stared at his coffee.
"I went for raw power, because hey it's just an email in a computer right?"
I took another sip of coffee.
"Do they know?"
"That I'm an endbringer yes, I didn't bring up the other stuff I had enough trouble getting them to accept the Endbringer part of it all."
"Sounds rough, um?"
"Ironwood, these days at least, and it's not so bad we're making a lot of progress in some areas, and less in others."
"How?"
"I kind of fucked up, all the other Endbringers got out and now we're hunting them down..."
"Ouch, I could try to find you a way home if you want?"
He stared at his cup.
"No, it's my mess so I have to clean it up, and even if everything got fixed, I have a wife now, kids. I can't leave that behind, this is my home now."
I got up.
"Thanks for fixing me up."
He nodded his head.
"I would love to offer any advice I can but unexplained visiters would be something that would freak the PRT out, and they have enough on their plate as is. Take care, um?"
"Dancinrage, and thank you."
