Amy Dallon

June 18th, schools over for the year, we had a longer year because Endbringers, dicks.

"We have a new guy in the Wards."

I blinked, Clockblocker was talking to me, the PRT had him guarding me during my hospital rounds, because the Nine are assholes and ruin everything.

"Who?"

"Um Golem, we found him after the Nine and he's Kaiser's kid."

Kaiser, well you can't say he wasn't brave, not bright of course. Going up against a literal lighting powered monster when you have metal powers? Not going to end well, and of course it didn't."

"So probationary Ward then?"

"No actually he came to us, it's just..."

He shrugged, Dennis could be a little harsh and cynical, even by my standards.

"You can't help who you're related to, sometimes people are just unlucky enough to be related to total assholes."

Dennis looked outside through a cracked mirror.

"Yeah but he grew up around nazis, he knew them, they were his parents, his friends, he had to have picked up some of that stuff, and what if this is a trick, I mean a way to take us down from-"

"The Empire's dead Dennis, half of their capes are dead, a fourth of them are in prison and the rest have more or less split town."

"Codenames!"

Right forgot that, sure no one was here but you had to be careful.

"They could come back, there's a lot of hate groups out there and-"

I turned around and stared him in the eye.

"How's your dad's cancer doing?"

"That got fixed years ago, he got an E-ticket and... It's not the same thing, this is different."

I tilted my head.

"Really? You have this guy, his family is evil, I mean completely psychotically evil, he gets sick of that shit and switches sides, decides to become a hero."

Dennis, sighed.

"Fine, I will give him a chance."

He smiled.

"So you doing anything, um later?"

"I'm going to Void's place."

Dennis blinked.

"Void Cowboy."

"Really? He only comes out to fight Endbringers, the guy has completely refused to talk to any of us, or even go to an awards ceremony."

I shrugged.

"He says that there's no point in picking up a medal until the war's won."

"Or he's just being an antisocial loner."

"It's mostly that."

Void was a decent enough guy but he clearly wanted out of the lifestyle. It was something you learned to accept after awhile.

"Back into the trenches."

"Yeah stay outside the room, doctor patient confidentality."

"I can be trusted."

I shrugged.

"Ok let me put it this way, I personally do not trust you with another persons confidential medical information."

He leaned back onto the wall.

"That hurts Amy."

I crossed my arms.

"You're not a medic, a doctor or anything like that so yeah I'm going to stand firm on this one."

With that I went inside, and then locked the door behind me. I looked at the notes, herpes.

"Ok do I have permission to heal you?"

It was going to be a long day.
