Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow, which only caused her blush to deepen before returning to her notebook.
Perhaps this would not be a fruitless endeavour.
Reaching out, he placed his hand over hers, stilling the movement of her pencil before plucking it from her fingers. "Memory is affected by fatigue. You are doing yourself no favours by pushing yourself this hard." His tone allowed for no argument, and he pulled her to her feet, hand sliding to the small of her back as he urged her towards the bedroom.
Kagome sighed in resignation. "I should've known you were going to be stubborn from our first meeting."
"Hnn."
The pout was still on her face as she climbed into bed, arms crossed after adjusting her pillow. "At least we'll both be able to sleep tonight."
"It will be a pleasant change of pace." He tucked the edge of her blanket under her mattress to deter any second thoughts about getting up after he left.
"Thanks again," she said. "You didn't have to go this far with taking care of me."
He shrugged a shoulder. "Do not thank me yet. I still plan on going to the building manager. With the correct name this time—"
"I wouldn't bother."
Sesshoumaru frowned. "I am not worried about their boorish scare tactics."
She chuckled. "Me neither. But she's moving out in a month."
