It was weeks after the Sports Festival, and Kuri was doing her internship with her Grams agency, Hagoromo.
It was very overwhelming, constant training and criticism, and she was only allowed to leave when she managed to have a vision.
Grams had to relent then, allowing her to exit the agency and head for Stain's location. When asked if she was going to get any back up. Grams just scoffed and told her if she wanted to play hero so bad she'd better be able to handle herself.
So Kuri set out to find Deku.
Kuri quickly caught up to him after scouting from the air. She landed in front of him. "Zu! You have to come with me! Hurry!"
Deku jumped in surprise. "What's wrong?! What happened?! Did you get hurt?"
"No." Kuri grabbed his hand. "But Iida needs us.I don't care about saving citizens. But he's my friend."
Deku quickly nodded. "Let's go then. He's my friend too!"
"We're gonna fly." Kuri said firmly holding out her arms. "Ready?"
Deku nodded and grabbed her hand. "Will you be able to carry me?"
"Yeah. I've actually been training." Kuri pulled him into her arms. "Ready?" Her wings flapped.
Deku smiled. "I'm ready."
Kuri flew up into the air. "This isn't your first time flying is it? You flew with All Might, ne?" Kuri was going a bit easier so he doesn't get sick or anything.
"Yeah that…wasn't really flying…this is..this is really cool! You can do so much with it!" Deku said excitedly.
"It's great for rescues. I can just yank the victim into the air! As long as they aren't hurt. But I'm practicing a move called feather cocoon for that!" Kuri beamed at his praise.
"That'd be perfect to help injured people!"
At that moment Kuri landed. "Before you go rushing in there…" Kuri squeezed his hand. "You should know that I'm not leaving your side, Izuku Midoriya."
Deku nodded "I know you won't. We are gonna do this together."
"I need you to engage him directly, but try to avoid my attacks at the same time. Can you do that? Are you fast enough?" Kuri explained.
"I'm pretty fast yeah. I can do that." Deku said, thinking it was the perfect time to try out Full Cowling.
Kuri ran in and knelt next to Iida. "Iida. Your paralyzed, ne?" Kuri touched him.
"I see that more self proclaimed heroes are hear to meet judgement at the end of my blade." Stain announced.
"Run…get out of here!" Iida grunted.
"Not happening." Deku said. "And we aren't here to meet your judgement."
"Ida. I'm going to try to cure you, but first I have to help Deku. I'll keep you behind me so you won't get hit." Kuri handed him a feather. "Hold this and my quirk won't touch you!" Kuri flew up.
"No you can't just…" Iida cried.
Deku began fighting Stain.
Kuri faltered in the air, mesmerized by Deku's Full Cowling.
Deku noticed. "Focus Miko!" Deku dodged the attack.
Kuri straightened in the air. "I think it's time for my special move. Daa-ra. Storm!" Kuri spun, and the wind picked up powering her feathers, speeding them, pinning Stain down.
Stain smiled. "Interesting. Tenshi decided to make her successor a hero."
Deku managed to dodge her feathers and landed in front of Iida, glaring at Stain.
"I'm NOT a hero! You hurt my friends! That's what matters to me! You hurt them!" Kuri screamed back.
"Yes. But that's exactly what makes you a hero fledgling." Stain jumped on a dumpster and cut her ankle, then grin at Deku. "Better catch her, hero." He licked the blood, immobilizing her.
Kuri let out a choked scream as her wings stopped moving and she fell.
Deku caught her and set her down, then attacked Stain looking pissed.
Kuri grinned from the ground. "oi Stain! If you know about Tenshi, then you should know something. Our quirks aren't in our bodies. Are-to! Restrain! They are in our feathers!"
Stain licked dekus blood. "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time, Tenshi. Stain snapped the restraints, holding up a red feather.
Kuri's breath caught in a gasp.
"What did you do?!" Deku collapsed and tried to break free.
Stain leaned down and tilted Kuri's chin up. "You've really ruined things for me. I wanted so badly to kill you. To show All Might that he would no longer be held back. But unfortunately…you've surprised me, fledgling. Perhaps you won't chain him like your traitorous grandmother? And this boy here cannot be killed either. But you." Stain came over to Iida. "fueled by Re—"
Kuri put her hands on his head, tears streaking her face. "What did you do to my brother you MONSTER!"
Todoroki busted in. His ice caught her and pulled her away from the villain.
Todoroki gave her a look knowing she was about to kill him.
Deku snarled at Stain. "I won't let you touch her ever again!"
Kuri slumped in the ice, trying to cool her own temper, realizing that she almost killed Stain.
Deku and Todoroki finished Stain off.
"You….weren't thinking we're you?!" Todoroki said afterwards giving her a look.
"I'm sorry!" Kuri held up the red feather. "I saw…this…and I couldn't control myself. All I could think was I had to MAKE him tell me what he did to..H-H-H-"
"How do you know he even hurt your brother?!" Todoroki asked incredulously.
Kuri gasped and hung her head. I promise…I'll tell you next time."
Deku came over. "He's right. He may have just found that feather…"
"Zu…you didn't see that, did you?" Kuri was upset at what he must think after seeing her almost kill Stain.
"Yes I did. I didn't like the way he did that…" Deku said, still stuck on Stain touching her.
"But…about what I did?" Kuri said, shocked that he wasn't angry with her.
"I'm not angry at you."
"Why not?!"
"Did you want me to be?" Deku shrugged. "I'm upset that you tried to kill him. But I was more angry that he touched you…" He looks away.
Kuri started laughing. "Stupid! I was way more wrong! Zuuuuu! Your a hero you can't think like thaaaaat!"
Todoroki tapped her shoulder. "Shit. Kuri. Endeavor."
Kuri blinked. "Shit. Um." Kuri whirled, quickly kissing Todoroki.
Deku sighed sadly and went over to Iida.
"That was hard to Watch Midoriya. Miko kissed him right in front of you." Iida said.
"es…I know…Deku sighed. "But she…had to…"
"When she attacked him…those eyes…when I attacked Stain did I have those same rage filled eyes?" Iida whispered.
"I…yes you did." Deku admitted.
There was a silence.
"I didn't know Miko had a brother. Did you?" Iida asked.
"I ah…y-yeah I kinda did…" Deku confessed.
"Then I understand perfectly well how she felt in that moment," Iida said softly. Do you know what I felt when I realized she was going to kill Stain? Jealous."
"I know. But that doesn't make a hero…." Deku replied.
"I am aware of that, and so is she, Midoriya. Take a good look at her face. I never realized how much she was suffering until now."
