Chapter 2: Apex Predators
~~Tokyo Outskirts, Five Months Later~~
"Momo, this isn't cool…"
Muramoto grumbled as he was sitting in the back seat of a limo that he, Momo, Mr. and Mrs. Yaoyorozu, and Kyoka were sitting in. He was currently blindfolded, sitting with his arms crossed as he hated the sensation of being in a vehicle. He preferred to run where he needed to. Momo chuckled as she sat beside him, Kyoka to his other side as she snickered at her best friend's little tantrum.
"Well, it wouldn't be much of a surprise if you were able to see where we are going, right?" Mrs. Yaoyorozu chuckled as she sat next to her husband across from the group. "Besides, you promised all of us an entire day together for your birthday."
Muramoto grumbled some more but signed ultimately in defeat. He truly regretted telling them his birthday now. But it wasn't like he wasn't forced to share that with them. In a sense, over these years, Momo, her parents, and Kyoka have sort of become a family to him. Granted he didn't see them very often, once a month at the most, but every time he visited them they greeted him with open arms and love. He shivered as he felt Momo's head lean against his shoulder, the boy instinctively looking down to her despite the blindfold on. "Momo?"
The girl simply chuckled with a happy smile across her lips. Muramoto had noticed she had been acting odd these last few months since he brought Kyoka to live with her. She always smiled at him now, though not a smile like he was used to. The smile she gave him now had a different emotion behind it, but the socially inept wild child had no idea the clues the teen was sending his way. She kept her head on his shoulder, enjoying the car ride as her parents only chuckled at the two.
Kyoka smiled at Momo and Muramoto, they thought they looked cute together like that. Though inside she was slightly jealous, but that jealousy confused her since it wasn't directed towards him or her. She was just jealous she didn't get to be a part of that without feeling like a third wheel. She shrugged her shoulders, trying to dismiss the feelings as she talked to her adoptive parents. Ever since they took her in, she had done nothing but strive to show them that their kindness would not be wasted. They put her in school with Momo at a private school, Itsumi Junior High. It was one of the most prestigious constitutions in the Tokyo area that worked hard not to just improve students' grades but their quirks as well for the real world and potential hero futures. She smiled softly, thinking back to her first day there.
~~Flashback~~
The lomo pulled into the school's drive with a slow ease, stopping at the front of the school where Momo and Kyoka both got out and waved the driver off. They both wore identical school uniforms consisting of a blue skirt, white jacket, and simple black button up. Momo had her hair in her infamous raven pony tail while Kyoka kept it mellow with her typical "I don't care" brand of hair style. Both girls started walking to the school, Momo taking her by the arm as she knew Kyoka was nervous about this. She was nervous about everything since the court situation.
The punk rocker still couldn't understand how her own mother gave her up so easily, she didn't even hesitate to sign her away to complete strangers she only met that day in the court house. The judge saw the hurt in Kyoka's eyes, and in truth was happy his good friends, the Yaoyorozus, decided to take her in. He knew she wouldn't have to worry about anything like she used to now.
Kyoka took a deep breath as she and her adoptive sister walked the halls. Thanks to Mr. Yaoyorozu's connections, he was able to get Kyoka in Itsumi rather swiftly, only having to wait a week before she was able to attend. At first Kyoka wasn't too thrilled about this, preppy schools like this were known for having stuck up people and Kyoka did not roll with that type of crowd. However, thanks again to Mr. Yaoyorozu, he made sure she would only attend classes that her previous school record could justify. Though the trade off was she wouldn't have any classes with Momo, only seeing her on their lunch break. Kyoka sighed as she reached the classroom, looking at it nervously. She looked to Momo, who was giving her an encouraging smile before giving her a light tap through the door. And when she did, she was opened up to a school life outside of bullying. That entire day was like a dream to her, and it was thanks to her and Momo's hero.
~~End Flashback~~
The rocker smirked at the thought before turning towards the driver, who had pulled up to the destination. Momo smiled happily as she was excited to show Muramoto the present that she and her parents had found for him. Slowly everyone got out, Muramoto being last as he was helped out with the blindfold still on. With a few steps, Momo spoke. "Okay! Go ahead and take off the blindfold, Mura!"
Muramoto chuckled at his nickname, something Momo gave him not too long ago after Kyoka complained about his long name. He took off the blindfold and looked wide eyed at what he saw.
Before the group sat a large gate to what looked like a zoo, but it didn't have a ticket booth or visitor's entrance. It did, however, have a long fence line that spanned down either side of him. He walked up to the gate, looking up and seeing the sign. He raised an eyebrow as he saw a banner but with no name.
"What is this place"
Mr. Yaoyorozu walked up and put a hand on the boy's shoulders. "This, my fine lad, is your birthday present. It took some time for us to get ownership of this amount of land, then the construction of the walls and so forth. But that's not what matters. What does matter, is that we know your passion towards saving those animals that you find around the city and even the country. But it's only a matter of time before someone discovers you hiding a tiger in a cave near Tokyo. So!"
He turned Muramoto to look at him before handing him a set of keys. "With Momo's persistent request, and a debt I am still owed to you, we have decided to purchase land large enough to be a sanctuary. We even got all the paperwork in order so there should be no outside interference. We do have to have the animals checked up several times a year, but I have taken the liberty to hire a team for this place. Once that was all done, we made sure that there was plenty of housing, water, and the like to keep at least a hundred animals of various species happy here. Happy birthday!"
Muramoto didn't know what to say as he looked down at the keys in his hands. He thought this was a dream of some kind, maybe Yoshido smacked him a bit too hard when he was wrestling with him. He gripped the keys hard, feeling the cool metal touch his hands and realizing this was no dream. "Mr. Yaoyorozu…"
He looked up to him, a smile with tears in his eyes before hugging the man. This caught everyone off guard. Muramoto -never- cried, let alone hugged someone like that. Momo got a bit peeved at this, since it was her idea to do this to him and instead of her finally getting a hug from him, her dad did instead. Kyoka saw the blush on Momo's face, snickering a bit at her misfortune.
The family man simply pet Muramoto's shoulder before the boy let go and went to the gate, opening it and letting the iron gate creek open. He turned around, smiling at them all before practically shouting. "Come on!"
~~The Sanctuary, Two Hours Later~~
The group went back to the drive where the limousine waited for its occupants. The last two hours were basically Momo, Kyoka and Muramoto running around and looking at all the places for the animals to stay. There was a very large, sizable chunk of land in several parts of the sanctuary. Momo's favorite was the savannah themed habitat towards the center of the grounds, while Kyoka's was the jungle habitat located not too far from the center as well. In total, there were roughly six habitats: Jungle, Savannah, Grasslands, Dessert, Arctic, and Mountainous. Mr. Yaoyorozu explained that these "mini-biomes" as he called them, were properly situated and made for animals that need that specific kind of environment. When Kyoka asked how they can maintain the temperatures needed for those habitats, he explained that each mini-biome was protected by a near invisible glass dome made from a foreign company he had stocks in. The glass was made by a person's quirk, making sand into thin glass that was almost as durable as bulletproof glass, and much more resistant to the elements. The glass would always keep the habitats in the proper temperatures.
Mrs. Yaoyorozu also asked Muramoto about her concerns with the animals as a whole. She shared her concern about his animals trying to eat or attack each other in their shared habitats, but he quickly dismissed her concern by explaining to her that the animals that are bonded to him share a link to one another, making them a pack of their own and would never attack one another.
The last thing the group visited was Muramoto's new house, though "house" was a poor choice of words. His new home was now a three story tall building in the true center of the complex, where the top floor could overlook almost all of the habitats with sofas, chairs, and other lounge items propped about. The second floor had three separate rooms. When asked about this, Momo spoke up and told Muramoto that he wouldn't dare think they'd make all of this for him and not leave a place for her and Kyoka to sleep when they wanted to come visit. Muramoto sighed, nodding his head with a smirk which made Momo blush, Kyoka chuckle, and her parents to laugh softly. The first floor was basically a mixture of a kitchen, living room, and training gym. All in all, Muramoto felt more in debt to Mr. Yaoyorozu then the other did to him.
The group of five made it to the limo, turning and smiling at Muramoto who was just looking at them with joy and humility in his eyes. "Thank you…I could never repay you for this, Mr. Yaoyorozu."
The older man chuckled, waving his hand dismissively at the boy. "Nonsense! I am the one that needs to repay you! You saved not only one daughter, but brought us another!"
This time Kyoka blushed a bit, but was very happy inside knowing that Mr. and Mrs. Yaoyorozu saw her as a daughter truly in their eyes.
With that, Kyoka and the two parents made their way into the limo, but Momo stopped, turning around and giving Muramoto a quick hug. The boy's brain seemed to stop working at that moment, not sure what to do as she held him close to herself. By instinct, he brought his arms around her and hugged her back. She giggled, turning her head slightly to sneakily place a kiss on his cheek before pulling away and smiling at him. "Happy birthday, my hero." She said with a bashful look on her face before sliding into the car, leaving her crush standing there looking like a fool with his hand on his cheek.
"What…was that?" He said softly to no one but himself, turning to enter the gate and locking it for the night.
~~The Sanctuary, Four Months Later~~
Muramoto groaned as he slowly got out of his bed, looking to the foot of said bed to see Tajima laying happily with Riki sleeping under his big brother's leg. In honesty it was a rather cute sight, seeing the albino hound protecting the smaller, brown furred pup while they slept. He got up with ease in hopes of not waking up the dogs, but of course Riki being the puppy he easily felt his master getting out of the covers and jumped down on the ground to start walking figure eights at his feet like he always did when he was hungry. He smirked, leaning down to pet the dog while Tajima yawned and stretched on the bed before making his way to the kitchen to wait for their breakfast. Muramoto went to the bathroom first, using the toilet before looking at himself in the mirror. He had grown in these last few years, a lot more than any average boy should have. He now stood roughly six feet tall. His long, flowing brown and black locks draped his shoulders and reached the middle of back. Momo hated how he let it grow wild like this, but any time she tried to get a pair of scissors or trimmers near his head he ran like a child would a doctor with a needle.
His body itself was in peak physical condition. His chest was well sculpted, sporting a six pack in his lean build while his arms were tight from the muscles underneath. He chuckled as he reached for his toothbrush, preparing himself for the day to come.
When he finished cleaning up and went downstairs he smiled and waved at Momo who was at the stove frying up some bacon and eggs for him and herself. She learned quickly he was no fan of fancy or treacherously prepared meals. He liked things simple, well cooked, and lightly spiced if at all. He was no means a picky eater, but he was just well against things that he imagined "spoiled the meat".
He sat down at the island counter across the stove as she cooked, smirking at his now girlfriend. It was still strange, knowing that someone else felt that way towards a wild child like himself. Though it did shame him she had to make the first move all those months ago when she kissed him the night he received the sanctuary. Kyoka soon enough walked down the stairs to the kitchen, smelling the american styled breakfast and sat beside Muramoto with a small smile on her lips. He smiled back at her, leaning over and giving her a hug before turning back to Momo who brought three plates down at the table. Before she could sit down, she heard the meowing and small whimpering of the three companions sitting at the edge of the kitchen. She smirked, apologizing to Ozawa, Tajima, and Riki for not getting them their food before she sat down. After a few minutes the three were eating raw meats with other needed minerals and such mixed into the bowl.
Momo had tried feeding them top of the line, pure graded pet food before, but none of them accepted it. Muramoto explained to her that due to his quirk's connection to them, they couldn't eat that type of food. He didn't understand why it was that way, but raw meat is what the carnivals of his pack could eat, while only natural grown plants and veggies are all the herbivores could eat. She accepted this, and much to her amazement, none of the animals ever seemed to get a bad bill of health on this diet from the vets that checked the animals once every month. The three humans and their pets ate quietly mostly, Kyoka and Momo on either side of Muramoto as Momo turned on the TV to a news channel across the kitchen.
Muramoto hated television personally, seeing it as a waste of time when someone could be out and about enjoying life in nature instead of wasting away in front of a screen. He wanted to remove the TVs as soon as he found them, but Momo quickly vetoed that idea. Explaining that not everyone could be like him.
He rolled his eyes as he stuck to his food, Momo watching the news while Kyoka was scrolling through the website of one of her favorite bands. The two girls had a break from school due to a recent incident where a student accidentally set off his quirk, setting a fourth of the school on fire before it was to be put out. Thankfully no one was hurt.
Momo kept her eyes on the television, eating her breakfast before dropping her fork when she saw the live feed before her. Muramoto looked at her confused before looking at the screen.
"...Yes, this is live at Shibuya where a villain is currently letting loose on the populace. As you can see, the hero duo Waterhose have arrived on the scene and are fighting desperately to defeat the villain Muscular while dozens of citizens flee for their lives. The vile villain has already taken down at least a dozen individuals, two including children of the ages nine and twelve. More are injured, and more heroes are in route but the Waterhose heroes seem to be losing the fight…"
Muramoto looked at the news as the live feed showed a large, muscular, blonde man attacking and killing several people before the Waterhose heroes showed up and even they were slowly losing against the villain. Momo had tears in her eyes seeing such violence, Kyoka feeling the same but trying to not show her emotions as she watched with anger in her eyes. Muramoto, on the other hand, couldn't take his eyes off the man. How he acted, his rage and anger…it was as if it was calling to him. His eyes narrowed, and slowly he stood up and made his way out of the house. Neither Momo or Kyoka noticed him leave, both too caught up in the tragedy happening before their eyes.
~~Shibuya Shopping District~~
Muscular was laughing maniacally as he slammed his fist down, barely missing the female of the Waterhose duo as the male yanked her back just in time to prevent her from being crushed. They dodged another attack, rolling to either side of him before blasting the villain with their torrential waters. The man only laughed, looking down at the two heroes as their backup laid either bloody or dead around them. He cracked his neck, his outrageous muscle fibers constantly tensing and breaking before reforming across him again.
"Is that all you got? Shame you and those other losers couldn't keep your promise to stop me!" He called out as he rushed them again, crashing into the male of the two and sending him flying across the street and landing hard against the building behind him. The man coughed up blood, slowly slinking down to the ground as he saw Muscular pick up his partner, his wife, by the neck and showed her to him.
"It's pathetic. You heroes are always preaching about saving people, but where does it get you? Tell you what, why don't you lay there and watch your dear friend be pummeled to death! I'll finish you after."
The villain chuckled with a vicious grin as he tossed the girl into the air, aiming his fist to her stomach as she slowly descended down to his fist. The man screamed out for her, reaching to her with a broken arm before something happened. It was like a blur with wings, something quickly coming out of nowhere and grabbing her. He looked around, thinking another hero had come just in time. Muscular looked around confused, but stopped when he looked back to the man and now saw him gone too.
The Waterhose heroes were now leaning off the side of a building near the perimeter the police had set up, not even a yard away from paramedics that saw the brutally beaten bodies of the two heroes and quickly rushed to their aid. The woman looked up to see what saved them, only to see a man standing with his back towards them with two tomahawks attached to the belt around his waist, a bow and quiver strapped to his back, a thick, black cowl covering his head. The man spoke to the two as they were placed down on a stretcher. "I smell the scent of a child on you both, makes me even happier that I decided to come…don't you worry, i'll make sure to end this rampage."
The girl was about to speak, but passed out rather quickly due to her exhaustion. The man charged back into the fray, intent on ending this man here and now.
Muscular looked around, looking for another play thing to torment. The deaths and defeats of numerous heroes at his hands had fueled his blood lust to an insane level, now looking to fuel this rage further as he was drenched in the blood of dozens of slain men, women, and even children. He saw a boy slowly crawling away, and this sparked his blood lust as he charged at the boy but was met with an arm to his neck as the assailant clotheslined him back and onto ground. When Muscular looked up he saw only a man wearing a black cowl that covered his face.
Muscular quickly tried to sweep the man's legs, but his opponent simply jumped back as he watched the villain slowly stand to his two feet.
"What's this, another hero coming to stop me? If you haven't noticed, I already killed at least six of you pathetic excuses with ease. I'll happily make you number seven!"
Muscular charged forward again, aiming his right fist directly for the man's chest. The man smirked, not moving as he took the hit dead on. Muscular grinned as he felt his fist collide with flesh, but when he didn't hear the crunching of bone, or the splash of blood, he looked to only see the man standing there and holding his wrist tightly. Without a second thought the man grabbed his arm with both of his hands and tossed him over him and walked away as the villain reeled at the intense force this man generated. Slowly Muscular got back up, looking at the man that dared stop his fun before getting into a fighting position.
The man returned in kind, taking both tomahawks in hand and clanking them together to what seemed to activate another part of his quirk. The blades of the weapons heated up before bursting into a blaze, both flaming with intense heat as the two goliaths charged at one another.
~~Back at the Sanctuary, Moments Prior~~
Momo and Kyoka were watching in fear as they watched the villain about to kill the Waterhose hero in front of her partner's eyes, both holding onto each other in fear and distress before they saw a blur intervene and take both Waterhose heroes away from the scene. This quickly woke them up to the world around them as they looked and saw their boyfriend missing. Momo slowly looked at Kyoka, trying to speak up.
"You don't think…"
"Hun, I do think…that fucking idiot!"
Both girls turned back to the television, seeing a new battle against the Muscular villain happening with their boyfriend being his opponent now. The news anchor kept speaking as the fighting happened.
"...We got confirmation that the Waterhose heroes are indeed en route to the nearest hospital. Both are in critical condition, but thanks to this mysterious man the paramedics think they will reach the hospital just in time! Now, as you can see this new figure is fighting in what could only be described as a fight to the death. The person in question is weaving through the blows of Muscular with ease before landing combo strikes against him with his flaming hatchet, it seems. Though the fire seems to be slowly cutting off the muscle fibers of Muscular's quirk, it doesn't seem to be enough to keep them from regenerating at their slowed pace. It looks like this will be a battle of attrition as no other heroes are available in the area, though word has it that Endeavor is en route to end this before it gets too late…"
~~Yaoyorozu Estate, Current Time~~
Mr. Yaoyorozu dropped his coffee mug as he saw his daughters' boyfriend fighting to the death against a S ranked villain on the television. His wife dropped her tea cup as well, both looking at the TV in awe and horror as they saw the gentle boy they knew fighting toe to toe with an outstandingly devilish villain. Even some of the servants and maid, who should be cleaning the mess made by their employers, couldn't pull their eyes away from the news channel as they watched the kind hearted boy they saw as part of the estate's family fighting against a bloodthirsty villain.
"Dear, you should contact our lawyers immediately. If Muramoto makes it out of this fight, I have a feeling he will be in serious trouble…" Whispered the quiet voice of Mrs. Yaoyorozu, looking at the TV as she spoke and her husband only nodded and slowly reached for his phone in his pocket.
~~UA High BoardRoom, Current Time~~
Nehu was calmly drinking from his favorite tea cup as he, a hero named Eraserhead, another named Hound Dog, and the lady in the room Miss Midnight watched the news feeds of the current villain attack at the Shibuya Shopping District. They were horrified to see six heroes fall, failing to defeat this monster, and Midnight was ready to break down when they saw Muscular toss her former classmate in the air to kill her. However, that never came to pass as she all but screamed in happiness when they saw the blur take her and her husband away.
Nehu, on the other hand, was taking everything he had to keep calm and drink his tea as he watched the butchering happen on live television. He could never understand why the government let such graphic things happen on live television like this. However, when he saw the boy intervene and stand off against the murderer, his interest was peaked.
"That boy is roughly the same age as our students."
All three turned to the bear, mouse, dog…whatever he was creature in surprise. Eraserhead spoke up first. "Uhm, sir I think you're not seeing things right. That man is taller than me and is more built than half our staff."
Midnight nodded her in agreement, Hound Dog simply snorted in response. Nehu chuckled as he looked at the still ongoing fight. "You can tell how he is taunting, moving and fighting. A real pro wouldn't be doing that in such a dire situation, which tells us that he is inexperienced in hero work. He is moving quite quickly, but again you can see he is not used to fighting opponents like this. Finally, his strikes are not calculated or thought out, he is attacking wildly in hopes of landing a blow which seems to be working in his favor due to Muscular's bloodlust."
Eraserhead and the others thought about it and agreed with their principal. However, this only raised another question. "His career of trying to be a hero is over because of this, isn't it?"
Nezu thought about it for a moment, shaking his head as he put down his cup of tea. "Not if I have a say in it. He is far too strong to be left out in the world like that. Imagine how great of a hero he could be if he was trained."
~~Shibuya Shopping District, Current Time~~
Muramoto grunted as he took another blow to his chest, now grinding his feet to leave a trail in the asphalt by a few inches. Muscular's strength was seeming at its peak now, and his fortitude was only keeping up with this raw power by so much. He really had to thank Yoshido with a big basket of fish when he got back home, without him he would have died much earlier in this fight. He saw Muscular pulling back for another massive blow, his body quickly jumping over him before somersaulting over the brute and landing behind him. He quickly turned around, burning blades aiming for his achilles tendons in both feet to disable his movement only to be prevented when Muscular jumped away.
"You're not bad, truly you earned my respect." The murder said coldly as he rolled his shoulders. "It's been awhile since I let loose like this, I gotta say that you truly are keeping your word compared to those losers laying on the ground. Tell me, what's your name? Not your hero's name either."
"I am not a hero, and I do not owe you my name." Muramoto responded back, taking a deep breath to collect himself as he stood up straight and rested his tomahawks back into his belt. He had to end this, he felt a powerful force coming this way. One he knew he couldn't defeat this worn out.
Muscular blinked, grinning before laughing loudly. "You're not a hero? Seriously? Then why the hell are you here trying to stop me? What, was it your moral code or something?"
Muramoto looked at the killer, eyes pure with primal rage that even Muscular got nervous from. "I came here to stop you. My quirk tells me when Apex Predators are seen, and you are one of them." He said before taking a deep breath, drawing his quirk's power into himself more intensely as he kept talking to distract Muscular as he prepared.
"Wait, aren't Apex Predators on the top of their food chains? Shouldn't that mean you should run away and hide since you couldn't defeat me?" The muscle villain said with a sinister grin, taking that title as praise. However, he would find out it was only a death warrant in Muramoto's eyes.
"Technically yes…however, there can only be one Apex Predator. And that's me…Nature's Wrath: Ragnarok!"
Muscular raised an eyebrow at that last part, but quickly regretted not acting as he saw the man slowly changing, then rapidly. The man grew another three feet, his spine producing a long tail that was about three feet long. Along his spine and tail small bone spikes poked through his skin, his hair melding into his back and down his tail. His arms grew longer, his fingernails growing and morphing into claws that were white as snow and sharp as steel. His legs grew longer as well, his feet morphing to resemble that of a paw with his toenails growing into claws similar in appearance to his hands. His neck grew out shortly, his mouth turning into a long, fang baring muzzle and his eyes changed to their black to what seemed to be an ever changing rainbow of colors.
The villain looked at the now eight foot tall werewolf-like creature before him, easily towering over the man before howling to the sky. In return, the sky responded to the call. The sun seemed to dim as a shadow grew over them to resemble a solar eclipse. Before Muscular could act, Muramoto was gone. He looked around terrorfied, the sheer fear caused by this eclipse and the sight of the monster that summoned it overwrote the bloodlust he had moments prior. He blinked, and in that split second he felt himself being tossed every which way by a blur he couldn't see. Every blow that was landed on him was accompanied by lasherations to his body, blood seeping from him as he saw his own blood being added to the puddles of it he caused around him.
He couldn't keep up with the insane speed and power this boost gave the man, Muscular panicking and swinging wildly in hopes of hitting the werewolf but each time he thought he would land a blow he was instead treated to air whooshing around his fists. After nearly five minutes of this brutality he was thrown up in the air, the fake moon seeming to mesmerize him before seeing Muramoto coming from the shadow of the moon and drilling him down to the ground. The impact left a large crater in the street, Muscular laying there in a bloody heap but still breathing, but very shallow. Muramoto grunted in satisfaction, slowly morphing back to his true form before going over and putting his foot onto Muscular's chest.
"I do not agree with societies idiotic law to now kill villains like you in public, if not at all…but I have to respect the law, for their sakes, in this regard. I warn you now, Muscular, if I ever see you attacking innocents like this again, I will not hesitate to end you. There is only one Apex Predator in this land, and that is me."
Muramoto took his foot off the battered chest of Muscular, turning and grabbing his cowl and tossing it back over his chest before speaking. "Nature's Wrath: Half Kinship." Those words were followed by two, large, elegantly beautiful wings of silver and gold feathers protruding from his back. With little effort he took off to the skies, knowing he'd have to fly around for a while before going back home. He needed his girlfriends to cool down before they tried to kill him.
~~UA High School, Current Time~~
"What…was that?" Midnight asked in a hushed tone, all of them seeing the ridiculous amount of raw, primal power that kid just displayed against the villain.
"Did he make the moon come out?" Hound Dog asked with eyes wide in shock, his usually canine blurred speech gone from his utter amazement at what he saw.
"His quirk lets him morph into animals or just their parts?" Eraserhead said, eyes still glued to the screen as he watched the news report now covering the relief efforts and after thoughts of the confrontation.
Nezu, like the others, was beyond impressed at what they saw. "That, my esteemed UA teachers, is going to be the next top hero. We need to find him, I have a feeling that wasn't even his full extension of his power. But first, I need to make some phone calls."
~~Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture~~
A young girl watched the Television as she saw the intense fight happening in the Shibuya Shopping District in the city. She watched in awe and amazement as the strange man came fighting off the villain and saving the heroes that had been fighting him for over an hour with little back up. She did feel bad for the heroes that did come to help the Waterhose heroes were swiftly killed, but she was happy no one else died thanks to the man. She watched the fight with intense interest, watching every move but eyes widened when she saw the man transforming. She quickly paused the channel, looking deeply at the man in high definition before he pulled his cowl back on. Tears came to her eyes, seeing the similar black and brown hair he had. The quirk, the hair…she prayed it was true.
She got up, running through the house and to her room where she saw her little brother trying to put something on her chair. The girl scowled, yelling at her brother. "What do you think you're doing Ayumu?!"
The boy quickly jumped back, smirking at his sister as his fox ears flattened in embarrassment, but his tail wagged in its typical way when he was up to one of his pranks. "Sorry sis! I was just, uh, you know…fluffing your computer chair's cushion!"
The girl growled slightly, her own tail flailing side to side in annoyance but her's was similar to an elegant lizard then a fox. She sighed, pushing her brother aside and using her tail to sweep away the tacks that her little brother put down on her chair. She knew better than to trust him when it came to his pranks. Ayumu pouted, folding his arms and looking at her as she typed her password into the computer and pulled up her photos.
"What are you doing Kimiko?" Ayumu asked as he saw his older sister scrolling through a lot of photos, moving fast as she was looking for a select few. She took her hand away from the mouse, moving her blonde hair back against her ear before returning to looking through the photos.
Ayumu sighed in annoyance at his sister giving him a cold shoulder, just another reason to prank her. He turned around to leave, close to walking out the door before he heard her speak. "It…it has to be him…"
The young boy turned to his sisters, coming back to her to see what she found. He looked at the screen, seeing a photo of what looked like his parents, a boy, and what he thought was his sister when she was much younger. Their mom and dad were smiling happily as they held her in their arms, his father's pronounced wolf features and ears happily displayed along with his mother's feline features and ears. Their parents prided themselves in their animalistic quirks, something Ayumu was raised up to believe were a gift from the wilds itself. Even his sister, at the age of four, was showing off her dragon-like tail and scale patches growing on her small arms. However, the boy who seemed to be forced to smile stood at the side of the three, looking like he wasn't wanted or didn't want to be there. He showed no signs of animal features like the rest of his family. He turned back to his sister, her eyes tearing up as she saw the boy. "Sis…who is he?"
Kimiko smiled softly as she looked at the picture, turning to her younger brother and wiping away her tears. "Ayumu…that's our older brother, Muramoto."
