Seventh Sister was on a hike on Yavin with Ezra Bridger. "Hold up, you are going too fast!" Ezra said huffing, out of breath. He doesn't remember the last time he has been on a hike like this.
"Can't keep up Ezra?" Seventh said, smirking. She always knew her agility and speed have developed more than most in the former Inquisitorious. Even with her Jedi bodyguard, she still gets a boost in confidence from it.
They went down a very steep downhill. The ground is only giant rock formations. Once they went through, they made it to a dirt trail surrounded by forest trees.
Seventh Sister used her enhanced speed to go through the running streams without wetting her boots. Ezra stood behind the stream raising his brows. "Psh… showoff," he responded, smiling.
They walked towards a part of the forest barren in trees.
"What happened here?" Ezra asked.
Seventh squinted her eyes and analyzed her surroundings. It was clear of trees. Unusual. Usually, there were trees all around this forest, with the exception of water bodies and large rock formations.
"Our rebel friends must have had some fun overnight camping, maybe too much fun." Seventh saw a few alcohol bottles and snack wraps with burn marks.
Ezra responded, "Hmf… didn't bother reporting what happened I suppose."
"Come Ezra, we still have a ways to go, you know?"
"What do you mean I know? I don't even know where we are stopping!"
"Patience, isn't that what you, Tano, and Jarrus have been teaching me?" she smirked.
"But uh…" Ezra stopped and grinned in defeat. Seventh rolled her eyes.
They continued on the trail, going through swervy walkways and the falling leaves of autumn. Red, orange, and yellow leaves were all around. The beauty of autumn is hard to describe outside of the different colors.
Embracing the beauty and hiking alongside her protector sparked a light inside Seventh Sister.
Seventh stopped in her steps and thought. "This feeling, feeling I've not felt since…" She lifted her head, seeing Ezra's grin. She smirked back.
"I'm glad you're here," Ezra said genuinely. He slowly took a hold of one of her hands. Seventh felt the light from the beauty of bright colored leaves, chirping birds, and beautiful ravines. Although, the warmth she felt from Ezra's hand does not match in comparison. She was happy to be in this lovely place, exploring with the young man that saved her life.
She felt vulnerable. She didn't have the urge to joke, judge, nor insult. The path she is on, it is something she feels is right. Sure, she resorts to her anger and rage at times to aid her power. Although, this is becoming a less common occurrence as time goes on. Ezra and she are not meant to be here.
An outside force is the reason they are enjoying this moment. This strange thing changed the past for her to embrace the present. She felt in another life she died, while Bridger disappeared.
Ezra noticed the light side embracing her, but he felt something was amiss. "What's bothering you?"
"I… I feel we aren't meant to be here. In another universe we are meant to be elsewhere.:. With me a corpse and you going ghost."
Ezra looked down at the autumn leaves, this ravishing forest. He felt the force around him for answers. Was he really meant to not be in the Rebellion in the present? Was his true destiny to die, to go into exile, what?
He felt happy, that life is on the right track, that he and Spectre Seven were meant for more.
"Well, let's be grateful we are embracing this moment. Let our mind be free from the trap of dwelling on what ifs. Focus on how our decisions are impacting our future. Future of a Galaxy free from the chains of the Empire."
Ezra sensed a being. A being more powerful than anyone could possibly imagine. This being was far away from him, yet will come into their lives soon enough. With this powerful embodiment of the force, means great responsibility for Ezra and Spectre Seven to train him.
Together, they can defeat this evil and have force-sensitives live free after all these years.
Seventh Sister reflected on Bridger's thoughts and sensed this great hope as well. A great hope that will assist them in defeating the Empire. But, Bridger and she must develop and train this Great Hope so they are ready.
She smiled, "You've learned well Ezra. Now come on… let's go to the spot I was telling you about."
They made it to the start of a steep incline, tiny pebbles all around. It could make a careless person slip and fall downhill.
Although, Seventh Sister and Ezra were careful. They walked on parts of the trail that are smooth and clear of the pebbles.
They made it to the top of the hill. Seventh stopped by a specific tree, and signaled Ezra to sit with her. Ezra looked back and saw hills of trees, rocky cliffs, and windy trails. He also sees the various colors of trees. "Only for this season," he thought.
"Why this spot, right?" Seventh asked what she assumed Ezra would say. Ezra nodded his head.
"It is far from the Rebel Base, so I can see what I've been through, see what is yet to reach…"
"Great place to reflect on my life. Slave to the Jedi. My life falls to pieces. Reborn into a slave of the Sith, who mentally and physically hurt me…" Seventh held her voice implant inside her throat.
"This spot, do you think about the life you wanted?"
"Why yes, correct Ezra. I just wanted to be left alone as a force user, on a far away planet. With the Green of Yavin, and the freshwater of lakes, rivers, and ravines. With beasts easily accessible to hunt, cook, eat. With high hills to camp in…"
Ezra pondered in thought. He always believed with this power, they are meant for so much more.
To serve, to protect others who are incapable. With the force's great power, comes great responsibility to serve the Galaxy. He believed that being with the Rebellion helps him keep to that belief. That obligation.
He held Seventh's hand even tighter than before. "Seven, sometimes running away from everyone prevents us from reaching our full potential. When you fight for what's right, defeat evil, that peacefulness, that kind of life you strive for is much more fulfilling. Especially with others."
"Oh those eyes," Seventh says to herself in thought. "I want to be alone with him, not by myself…"
Ezra continued, "When you're able to do that, we end our physical lives feeling we reached our full potential, not worried about the tyranny for future generations to have to deal with."
Seventh deeply looked into Bridger's eyes. Genuine care. Constant urge to serve, to help her in her trauma. She naturally responded by embracing him. Embracing him in a tight hug.
"Embrace this moment…" she said to herself. It doesn't matter if it takes all day to go back to base. She wants to be embraced. To be grateful for this time. Don't take it for granted.
