"Am I dreaming?"
"If you are, you're chatting in your sleep," Lily laughs, snuggling closer so her head is tucked under his chin.
James sighs and tucks his free arm under his head, the other wrapped around Lily's shoulders. "Honestly though. We just had an earth-shattering snog - "
Lily snorts. "Glad that world-class ego is still intact."
"Now after an earth-shattering - yes I said it - snog with the Lily Evans - "
"The Lily Evans," Lily repeats.
"Now we're living out one of the biggest romance cliches of all time - lying on a blanket, staring up at the stars in wonder, stealing little touches."
"My skills have brought out the poet in you, eh?"
James toys with the ends of Lily's hair and lets out another sigh. "I may be an egotistical ponce but you Lily Evans, are incapable of accepting anything resembling a compliment. Let alone a sweet nothing."
Lily tilts her head back so her nose brushes James's jawline, then draws his face down to hers. "I'll work on it."
"I'm an excellent tutor."
