Author Note: This discussion takes place in the early evening before dinner at Grimmould between the elves.
"Well this is your corner of the attic. " Dobby was showing Tinky around that evening. When Umbridge died her bond with Tinky dissolved which let her form a new bond. Harry said that Hermione needed to have her own elf, especially as she would be the lady of a great house once everything settled down so he convinced her to make the bond with Tinky.
Looking around the cavernous attic Tinky's eyes grew wide. "All this space for house -elves? Inconceivable!"
Winky had approached them to great the new elf. "Dobby is this Mistress Hermione's elf?"
"Dobby introduce Tinky to Winky." Dobby proudly grinned.
Winky sized up the other elf then nodded, "Tinky is skilled at taking care of lady of house?"
"Tinky is. Tinky have to learn how her new lady wants things done but will do so."
Winky frowned, "Tinky new lady is very young and headstrong. Hermione not know what the facts of life are. Hermione think elves are." She paused in disgsut, "Employees."
Tinky gasped in shock. "Nooo."
Winky nodded while Dobby growled gently, "Mistress Hermione is mate of the Great Harry Potter. Mistress will learn how to be a lady eventually. She is friends with Lady Ithil. Lady Ithil knows proper ways."
"Will Tinky be allowed honor of helping care for Lady Ithil?" Tinky asked in a small voice.
"Harry Potter allows elves to find work. Harry Potter is a great master who understands the way." Dobby intoned. "He listens to Lady Ithil."
Tinky looked at Winky who nodded in agreement her floppy ears flipping and flapping.
"Harry Potter sounds like good master. Tinky will be happy here. Tinky will help teach mistress the way." Tinky said happily.
Winky smiled, "Mistress is not bad, Mistress is just young. Mistress has good birthing hips so will produce strong children for Winky to take care of."
Dobby smiled. "Yes. The House Potter-Black will be a strong and good one."
Tinky looked at a section of walled in area, it had scratches and sigils carved in the House-elven language "Whos is elf in nest there?"
Dobby shrugged while Winky frowned, "That be nest of Kreacher. Kreacher is eldest elf of House Black." He paused then said in an aside, "Dobby thinks Kreacher has gotten addle-minded."
Winky frowned, "Kreacher is product of bad masters. Do not go into Kreacher nest."
"Kreacher is dangerous?" Tinky asked with some trepidation.
Dobby and Winky both frowned and said, "No not really dangerous just grumpy."
Tinky nodded sagely, "Ahh. Kreacher is grumpy elf. Tinky understands."
Tinky looked at the alcove Winky had curtained off, "That is Winky nest?'
Winky nodded, "Yes. Tinky will have own alcove for Tinky to establish nest. Tinky can visit Winky if Tinky like."
Tinky smiled. "Good. Tinky like being with others. Tinky was so lonely."
Dobby put his arm around Tinky. "Tinky not alone. Tinky family."
Tinky sighed happily. "Tinky happy to have family."

DennisUD: War is hell. Sometimes good people have to do bad things. Harry and the others are going to learn this sad fact. And bad people do not always play by the rules.
Freddie Rindklip: Thank you. Draco is in the ultimate example of a rock and a hard place. No matter what he does its going to hurt. As for Umbridge's elf hope you enjoyed this little chapter. I hadn't said it one way or the other in the previous one on purpose to make people wonder briefly.
