Chapter 28

(Flashback)

Dina was kneeling on top of the wall, her blindfold was taken off. "Dina..." Besides her, Grisha Yeager was also kneeling on the ground.

"Darling..." Dina mutterd.

"Why are you here? I... I told them everything there is to know...!" Grisha said. "She's a royal-!"

Without warning, the Marleyan soldier behind him slammed him to the ground and covered his mouth. "Silence!"

He covered Grisha's mouth and another Marleyan soldier muttered, "Sheesh. Make him a Titan to shut him up already."

"Grisha, I..." Dina smiles sadly before she was injected with the fluid. "No matter what form I take, I promise I'll come and find you."

Grisha looked horrified, but Dina knew there was no escaping their fate. And so she kept smiling, trying to reassure him in their last moments.

"Ha ha, how lovely. You'll make a great Titan couple."

With that tasteless joke, the Marleyan officer kicked her off the wall.

As she fell, the last thing she heard before everything went dark was Grisha's scream.

"DINA!"

(Flashback Ends)

Dina slowly opens her eyes with a slight groan, and she notices that she was lying on a bed. Beside her, three people are watching at her.

"She's awake!" Katrina yells.

"Aya, bring Commander Erwin here and fast!" Eren says to Aya, who nods and leaves.

Dina tries to sit up, and Katrina says, "Please be careful."

Then after she slowly sits up, she looks out the window to see the whole Trost District. "Where am I... and what..."

"This is the Survey Corps building, located inside Wall Rose." Eren says. "Can you tell us what you'd remember?"

Dina lowers her eyes. "I...I was brought to Paradis island. I...they injected something into my neck, and then...nothing. But before that...I saw...others...turned into Titans."

Then she stares at the two of them. "Is that what happened to me? Was I also a Titan?"

Eren says, "I'm sad to say, you were a Titan."

Dina stiffs a little and she asks, "What year is it now?"

"This is year 850." Katrina says.

"That means... I've been a Titan for 18 years... but how? How did I become a human again?" Dina asks.

"You're not truly a human...you are a Titan shifter, the Female Titan Shifter." Eren says.

Dina frowns and lowers her head, "I see... I must have eaten the previous Female Titan to return to normal..."

Eren says, "And where are our manners? We haven't even introduced ourselves yet. My name is Eren Yeager, and this is my twin sister, Katrina Yeager."

This causes Dina to look at them with surprise, "You two are also Yeagers? Does that mean you know Grisha Yeager?"

Katrina says, "Grisha is our father."

Dina looks at Eren and Katrina in shock, the reality of her situation slowly sinking in. For her, time had seemed to stand still for 18 years. And yet the world had continued to move on without her, with Grisha apparently having continued their mission, meeting another woman, and having two more children all while she hadn't aged a day. But now she has a question, how did Grisha manage to avoid the same fate, and where was he?

"How...and where..." Dina was speechless.

"My father was the previous Attack Titan Shifter, and he passed the powers to me after his 13 years were almost up." Eren frowns.

"I see...so he's not here anymore..." Dina frowns.

At the same time, Commander Erwin, Captain Levi, and Aya walk into the room. Erwin says, "You must be Dina Yeager, or Dina Fritz, right? I am Commander Erwin Smith of the Survey Corps. I assume that both Eren and Katrina have told you the situation, right?"

Dina nods and Erwin continues, "Good, however, can you please tell us your story about the outside world? We've been trapped inside these walls for the past 100 years, so we could use an outside perspective."

Dina then told them her story. She told them how she had been a member of the Eldian restorationists in the Liberio internment zone, how she had married their leader, Grisha, and how they had had a son named Zeke who later betrayed them. She also mentioned their plan to steal away the Founding Titan and free the Eldians from the internment zones.

She is forming tears again. "I was so foolish...I always thought Grisha was a little hard on Zeke, but I never said anything, and I often put too much pressure on him as well. We were terrible parents. If only we could have seen that…"

"Dad did see that." Katrina says, "He was never harsh on both Eren and me. He never forced any pressure on us..."

"I can assure you that, after I lost my mother, he is also nice to have me stay at his house and live with him as well." Aya adds.

Dina notices Aya and she notices facial features and asks, "Are you perhaps related to Sarah Neumann?"

"Sarah Neumann is my mother." Aya says.

"So you know about my wife?" Levi asks. "Can you tell me everything about her?"

Dina wasn't expecting to learn that Sarah was married, she says, "Sarah is my childhood friend, and we also joined the Eldian Restorationists together. However, when we were captured, unlike us, the Neumanns can't turn into Titans because of their bloodline, and I've never seen her ever since."

"I see... do you know anything about the Neumann bloodline? About their special powers?" Erwin asks.

Dina nods and turns to Aya, "Your hair color is orange... that means you have been in contact with 9 of the 12 Titans, is that right?"

"It's true." Aya nods, and Dina says, "The Neumann bloodline has the power to transfer Titan's powers. When in contact with the Founding Titan, they can take away the Titan Power that the Neumann already contacted. If you have 9 of the 12, that means you could take 9 of the powers in you."

"I see..." Aya says.

"Without the Founding Titan, when a Neumann contacted a pure Titan while having one of the Titan powers inside them, they will be able to transfer that Titan power to the pure Titan." Dina says. "Sarah told me that after a Neumann member's death with the Titan power inside, it will transfer to the next Neumann bloodline, which was why she had the Weather Titan inside her."

"That explains why our mother has the Weather Titan..." Katrina frowns a little.

Dina turns to Levi and says, "You are Sarah's husband, right? Can you tell me how you met her?"

Levi frowns a little and says, "I met her in the Underground, I didn't know why she was there, but she is interested in the ODM gear that I was using. She then joined our group, along with two other people. The four of us got a deal and thus we joined the Scouts together. However, after an expedition, the two of us are the sole survivors..."

Erwin sighs, "Yeah, I remember that, it's a shame that she decides to resign from the Survey Corps while you continue to stay..."

"She was pregnant with Aya at that time, I couldn't let her be in danger." Levi grunts.

"I see..." Aya frowns. "I'm glad that I finally get to know my mother's full story..."

Eren turns to Dina and asks, "Um... I know it is kinda weird, but can Katrina and I call you mother since you are my father's first wife..."

Dina is surprised, but she smiles, "Of course, you can."

"Thank you, so mother. Since I have my father's memories, we are trying to continue the goal of the Eldian Restorationists." Eren says. "And we want you to help us out."

Dina is surprised, and she smiles, "Of course, I will help you. But in order for that to happen, we need the power of the Founding Titan..."

"That won't be the problem. My Dad already got the Titan and he gave it to me, I'm not only the Attack Titan, but I'm also the Founding Titan." Eren says. "And you didn't eat the previous Female Titan shifter, Aya and I managed to take her powers without killing her and she transferred the powers to you."

"I see." Dina is slightly delighted, that means she didn't kill the previous shifter, she wouldn't be able to bear with it if that happened.

Erwin says, "Since you agree to help us out, our mission is to retake Wall Maria and get to Dr. Yeager's house. All of the documents of the Eldian Restorationists are there and we need to recover them. Not only that, but we also have another Royal family member that we need to protect, her name is Historia Reiss."

Dina nods, and after that, they also ask if Dina wants to join the Scouts like them, and much to their surprise, she agrees to help them out. Once they are done, Mikasa, Armin, Peter, Odom, Jean, Connie, Sasha, and Historia are waiting for them as they are going to move to a remote rural cabin.

"Everyone." Erwin says, "I will like you guys to welcome a new member to the Levi Squad, Dina Fritz. Since she's the Female Titan, she will be joining us to retake Wall Maria."

Everyone is happy to have the Female Titan on their side, and after the introductions, Armin says, "We have a total of 5 Titan shifters with us... this is amazing."

"I know." Eren smiles, "However, with Commander Erwin's request, we need to train Mother with her powers as well."

"Mother? You're calling her that?" Jean asks in surprise.

"Why not? She is our stepmother." Katrina says.

Then everyone decides to introduce themselves to Dina, and Dina is surprised to learn Peter and Odom are Jenette and Wade's children, Mikasa is an Ackerman, and finally, she gets to meet Historia, a distant relative of hers.

After getting to the house, they decide to do some training, and they are surprised to see how Dina is skilled with the ODM gear and the blades. Hange says, "Amazing... are those natural skills? Or have you tried these in the past?"

Dina says, "Sarah and I have been through some military training by our parents when we were little. I also watched how the Marleyan Training at the sidelines as well."

"I see..." Levi says, "With the skill, you won't have a problem with fighting Titans."

Katrina turns to Eren and whispers, "Should we tell her about our big brother Zeke? Since he's the Beast Titan and he's somewhere at Wall Maria..."

"Maybe not now, but we'll talk to her about him tonight..." Eren says.

Then they also see how Dina transforms into a Female Titan, she looks similar to Annie, but with facial features similar to her human form. Eren also teaches her how to use Hardening, and they also make sure to be careful about contacting each other since Dina has royal blood and they don't want to accidentally start the Rumbling.

After the training is done, Eren sits with Aya and says, "So Aya. What do you think about Mother?"

Aya smiles, "She is really nice, and I'm glad to be able to hear some stories about my mother from her. My mother left me when I was seven and I was forced to survive until Dr. Yeager and you found me."

"Yeah, I remember..." Eren smiles. "By the way, your wounds are healed, right?"

"Of course." Aya says. "And you?"

"Same." Eren says as they learn from each other while watching the others.

And here is a new chapter, and this chapter is basically about Dina and I plan to have her join the Survey Corps. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will begin the Season 3 with a lot of changes.
