• Skypiea's Goatman Story •
Wyper along with his friends Raki, Genbo, Kamakiri and Braham, were going out hunting in the upper yard in Skypiea for a few days.
The village chief told them that they need to be real careful out there and stick together since there are big vicious animals in the woods.
The group went into the forest and set up a campsite.
The group slit up and hunted for wild animals for hours. Strangely they can't find any live wild animals, the only ones that they can find are dead wild animals who looked like thy were struck by lightning, which is odd since there was no storm. Throughout the Upper yard forest the group can smell burn, but don't know where it's coming from.
After many hours of hunting, Wyper and his group head back to the camp and pulled out some stuff for a campfire.
About thirty or forty minutes later, Wyper and his group smell that burn smell from earlier again. They could smell it over the smell of their camp fire. This smell like someone or something had been electrocuted.
The Shandarians immediately think that it's some kind of electrical malfunction, or someone left a hotplate on or something. They search the campsite and the surroundings, and despite smelling the burn, they couldn't locate the source of it. All of a sudden, they can hear someone running in the woods next to them.
They assume it was a wild animals, and got there weapons ready.
Wyper remember the village chief said to make sure they were careful on the way back, and that maybe they should take one of the hunting rifles just in case.
Kamakiri and Braham began to look through the woods, they found a burned up / half eaten pig. At first they assumed it was just some big cat or coyote that did it, but then again they didn't even spot any live animals today, and they don't know why the pig had electrical burn marks.
Then Raki says that she hears zapping noises in the bushes right next to their tents and they all beamed their direction over there and there was man standing back in the woods in a little hollow. Wyper shouted at the man and told that he was scaring his group.
Wyper's group walked closer to the man and realized that the guy was facing away from them. So they keep walking, and they start smelling the burn smell once again.
The man turn and took a good look at them and disappeared instantly.
The group were shocked by this turn of event. Genbo who was closer to the man said he got a bit of a glimpse of the man. According to Genbo, he saw that the man had horns on his head and long ears that are like that of goats.
All of a sudden, Wyper, starts remembering something he heard as a kid, and told his group that there was this Shandian warrior who and his group of warriors were about to fight against the Skypieans tribe, after many hours he return alone all injured and cover in black chalk, he went and talked to the village chief alone. Curious, Wyper went to eavesdrop on them, the Shandian warrior was telling the village chief about this 'Goatman' that attacked both Shandians and Skypieans warriors by the power of electricity, and that he was the only one to survive his attack. Wyper's friends promptly tell him to shut up because they didn't want to hear any spooky talk right now.
But Wyper just keeps going on and on about how it's this 'Goatman,' and that he could be the one hiding in the woods. Wyper's friends had never heard of this goatman attacking anyone in the village or any of that, mainly because Wyper is the only one who heard about it by spying on the village chief and Shandian warrior, who both decided to keep it a secret. But then again years ago when Shandians arrived in Skypiea, they learned about a Skypiean folklore that there was a young warrior boy named Ganfall, who is accomplished by a Pegasus, went to a sky island called Birka, which is home to a menacing warrior people. In the folklore it's stated that residents of Birka had men with the heads of goats and they use powers of electricity to terrorize other sky folks, and that in the end, Ganfall slayed the goat people. It's also supposed to be some bad mojo to even talk about Goat people out in the wild in Skypiea, and even worse if you see a surviving member from the folklore story.
Wyper's friends are terrified due to the fact that folklore story scared them deeply as kids, even still now, and told Wyper it could be some jokester trying to prank them. All of a sudden the burn smell just goes away. The group haven't even experienced anything like it. Like, usually smells fade away or lessen. It just literally was there one second and then not the second.
So it's after an hour, the group went to bed in their tents. Nothing else weird happen that night. At about 1 in the morning, Wyper and his friends were outside drinking and getting ready to hunt. As they were done preparing -- the smell comes back. The burn smell was so strong, that Rika and Genbo literally start to feel like they need to vomit.
Wyper then says it's the goat man and that he was nearby. And Kamakiri tries to shut him up.
The group hunted for a while; the smell is just as strong, and they were terrified. They couldn't find any wild animals, so they end up fishing for water animals. Wyper has also catch some fishes for his group. At the campsite Wyper grill them up on the fire and give everybody a fish.
Then all of sudden they hear someone or something banging against a large tree on the side of their campsite.
When they check they found a dead boar that seem to be bushed against the tree and had several burn marks on its body.
Genbo, Kamakiri and Braham, had enough of this jokester and decide to look around for the man from earlier.
Wyper warn them that their dealing with a goatman, but they told Wyper to shut up about the Goatman.
So the group split up; Kamakiri, Genbo, and Braham decide go look around the area, while Wyper and Raki decide to stay at the campsite. Wyper is super pissed at this point, because he feel like his friends aren't taking this seriously, and he definitely didn't want to be out in the woods for another night. He spend the rest of the day shouting to his friends out in the woods trying to convince them to get out of there. Wyper and Raki leave the campsite with their rifles.
Wyper and Raki looked around the woods for Genbo, Kamakiri and Braham, and they're getting extremely antsy.
Once again Wyper try to explain that they're dealing with a Goatman, but Raki didn't want to hear it. Raki told Wyper enough of this Goatman story, and she doesn't want to be in this woods, but at the same time wants to look for her friends.
Wyper think to himself, if she was so scared, would she come out here in the woods she could of wait at the campsite, and would have gone looking for them alone? And then Wyper got this nasty feeling in his gut. Keep in mind, the whole time the coppery smell has been gone. Now that he realize he can smell just a twinge of it.
Then all of a sudden Genbo, Kamakiri and Braham, came rushing out of the forest screaming, saying that they found several died birds scattered by the river bank. When Wyper and Raki took a look, they noticed the birds look like they got roasted to death.
Wyper believed that the birds were electrocuted, possibly by the Goatman.
Wyper's friends got angry with him and told him to knock it off with the Goatman and it was some prankster.
Wyper had said this to his many times to his friends and they wanted to stay in the woods after Wyper told them they had a Goatman problem in their midst but ignore his claims and think some prankster is setting this up to scare them. Wyper looked at them like, "I'm not fucking bullshitting you at all right now." He ask them why the fuck would a prankster play like that?
Then there's a HUGE bang on the other side of the woods across the river. They all jumped the up. The banging was so loud.
Then they hear laughter that was coming from nearby woods across the river.
"Gyahahaha!"
Wyper's group cross the river to checkout the loud sound and laughter. They found a burn crater that was caused by lightening.
Then the rotten smell came up, followed by the laughter but this time it was very close to them.
"Gyahahaha!"
Wyper and his group freaked out and ran back to their campsite. When they look back nobody in the woods. They looked around their campsite to make sure they weren't being followed. He pulls me to the side and whispers in my ear, "You know there are only 4 of us in here, right?" Gonbe is not with them, Wyper get that feeling where you stomach drops to your knees.
So Wyper had took out a couple boxes of ammo and his rifle, and headed to the woods to search fir Gonbe. Now Wyper's group were terrified. At first none of Wyper's friends are walking through the woods in the middle of the night. At this point, the sun is just barely over the horizon and he has one of those heavy duty lanterns along with their rifle. Wyper had to convinced them to go with him which took a few minutes, eventually they agreed and headed out to the woods with their rifles.
At 'round 11, the stink of copper turns into an actual nasty gross blood-like smell. Wyper's group we're in full on defense mode thinking that the Goatman was nearby. Then there was a half-knocking, half-clawing on what of the nearby trees. It made my fucking nuts creep up against my body. It was so obvious that it is not a person talking. The group is in full on terror mode.
"Who is it?! Stop messing around whoever you are!", yelled Wyper.
Wyper fires several shots into the woods. He fires two more times, and then Wyper's group heard sounds like something is slowly jibbering and hooting.
Then it starts making a like goat sounds. The group seriously have never heard anything like that, and they can hear the brush nearby them start to shake, Raki then fires her rife towards the bushes.
Wyper's group heard groaning nearby some bushes they went to go check it out
It turn out to be Gonbe. He was lying on the ground badly injured looks like he was shocked by electricity and had a bit of chalk on him.
Kamakiri and Braham carried Gonbe and the group headed back to the campsite.
When they got to the campsite. They patched up Gonbe's injures and laid him to rest in his tent.
While everyone was in their tent trying to fall asleep, Wyper heard one of his friends laughing he told one of them to shut up, but they all responded saying it isn't them.
Wyper sat up startled with the response and realize that the laughing isn't one of his friends and it's the laugh they heard earlier.
"Gyahahaha!"
Wyper suspect that it was the Goatman who's near their campsite.
The laughing gradually got closer and closer to their campsite. Wyper's friends friends Raki, Genbo, Kamakiri and Braham, screamed over to Wyper that they were freaking out.
The laughing was now just at the edge of their campsite. couldn't hear any footsteps at all it was impossible to move through that woods without making any noises. They sit their in silence, till they finally had the courage to get out of their tents armed with their rifles.
They looked around the area, and could not spot anyone. Then all of a sudden they heard branches moving on the tree tops.
When they look up they spot a a tall blonde haired shirtless man with long earlobes and Goat horns.
He then muttered one word, "Heso".
And shot a lightning bolt at them. He almost hit Wyper and Raki.
The group scream from the top of their lungs and start running away as fast as they can through the woods. While that's happening a rain of lightning bolts start hitting the path their running. Wyper's group tried their best not to get hit, and eventually made it.
The next morning, Wyper's group made it back home to their village. He reported on what happen in their hunting trip to the Chief.
Ever Wyper's and his friends hunting trip, no one would dare hunt in that area they've been which they now call Goatman Woods.
